Honestly, when I looked at the prices, there was only about a $2 difference, so we decided to get the full portion because you get a lot more food for just a little extra. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited for our food. The bartender was super friendly and made it a fun place to be! Our food also came out pretty quickly, which was a plus. Both the calamari and chicken nachos were really good! The chicken nachos were probably my favorite. The chicken had a lot of flavor, and I liked that they came with salsa as well. Everything was really tasty and made for the perfect appetizers while having drinks. Honestly, Livingstones is one of those places we like to stop by when we're in the Tower District, even if we're just there to have a drink and hang out. A lot of people have told us that we need to come back and try their dinner menu. I haven't had dinner here yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about their food, and after trying their calamari and chicken nachos, I can see why people recommend it. Overall, this is a great place to get drinks, hang out with friends, or enjoy some appetizers. If you don't want to sit at the bar area, they also have a separate area where you can sit down and enjoy a nice dinner with friends or even go on a date. If someone messed with my car, which was out of sight slightly around the corner of the building close to Belmont, would he have noticed or cared? They were so mundane it almost made the rest of the meal seem overpriced and lackluster. Sides should be something local or at least prepared. Instead it was some slop from a can or a warmer filled with hot liquid broth. It was like cafeteria food or the heated up veggies one might get during a hospital stay. Completely unacceptable quality if you want to maintain the allure of a fancy restraunt serving 40+ dollar cuts of meat. Rice was mediocre, mashed potatoes were decent but again probably a cost cutting side. So all in all, the food wasn't something to brag about. The interior has some nice paintings of bare chested ladies. As a champion for women, it seemed a little extreme that in my sight i could see 6 titties, but as a man, excluding my champion for women title, I thought it was great. However, being with my mom and my woman made this dichotomy even more perplexing. The strangest part of all of this was when I went in the men's restroom there wasn't another topless woman painting. Instead it was some old dude. Wth? That's when I relaized it was like the rest of the experience here - unique, a bit outdated, and all over the place. I liked that they sauteed the white fish and it seemed to be prepared in a healthy way. They also have an impressive side dish selection to choose from. Also, I am a huge Diet Coke drinker and many places around Fresno and Clovis are all about Pepsi products. Most bar places also have really flat soda. The Philly cheese steak was very "flat" and flavorless. It could have passed for a frozen microwave sandwich out of the freezer section of Costco. When we got done paying we had to wait a little bit on our ride to pick us up and there was probably 20 people inside. The bill was already paid but the waiter kept stalking our table asking if we needed anything else. We told him, we were waiting on our ride. The fourth time he came by we understood loud and clear...it was time to leave. Nobody waiting to be seated and at least 16 empty tables. After that the service went downhill. We got the drinks, took some time. Asked for a straw for one of the drinks, had to ask again. That's how it went the rest of the dinner. Ordered more drinks , we could see the sitting on the bar, no Robin. So as you can see in this post, slow and had to ask multiple times. The food was very good, came cooked to what we asked for. I may go back because of the food. But that's only part of the experience. The restaurant looks the same as when Dave and Karen had it. I noticed the new owners don't really answer these posted. Looking at these and making adjustments is how you improve. So here's how I see it. The staff is always friendly, we've never had an issue there, it's just the food quality in general has gone downhill.
