Definitely a hidden gem. Came here for a celebratory dinner and loved the vibe. Our waitress was kind and checked up on us from time to time. One of the best steaks I've had in town. Comes with a side, and I got the baked potato. It comes with toppings like sour cream on the side. Vegetables were standard. Ordered the bread pudding for dessert and was entirely pleased. Melts in your mouth. I was stuffed by dinner already but ordering this is a must!! I'd come again for another special occasion!

Celebrated my friends birthday with a group of 8. The staff was super friendly and cracking jokes all night long. They were able to accommodate every request made. The steak was cooked exactly how I requested it. They sang Happy Birthday to my friend.

Stopped in for dessert after a Yelp event nextdoor at the wine bar and was pleasantly surprised at the nice atmosphere and service here. We were directed toward the bar since we were just ordering dessert. Service at a table next to the bar was excellent. Even the owner's son, Michael, who was bussing tables and providing water was very pleasant and talkative and checked on us several times during our time there. The vibe here is romantic candlelight with a touch of a homey feel. Our dessert was amazing. We ordered the chocolate cake which had ganache for frosting, and it was probably the best chocolate cake in Fresno if not close. We also ordered the brownie dessert, which was good and had good flavor but was slightly hard so the reason I knocked off 1 star. You could tell it was made with the best ingredients though. I need to come back for dinner to comment on the dinner menu but just had to get on here and rave about the cake!

We had a wonderful time here! Rhonda was our server and she really took the best care of us. We ordered the clam chowder which was delicious! Maybe the best ever? My husband and I each ordered a New York and my dad ordered the pork chop. Everything on the table was top notch! The chefs must've been on their game because the steaks were some of the best we've EVER had! We finished the night with too much dessert (in a good way)! The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was a cozy and unique vibe. We'll be back!

I went for Mother's Day and typically they aren't open on Sundays. We had a reservation for right when they opened. I loved the atmosphere upon walking it. Very dimly lit, classy vibe. Our server Robin B was awesome! Thank you for your attentiveness. The food was hot and I could tell it was right off of the grill. Only disappointment was that my husband's steak was not cooked correctly. Other than that, I really liked everything and was happy with our meal.

My husband brought me here years ago for my birthday & it' was so nice! Then my daughter ask where do you wanna go for your birthday so I brought this place up. And let me tell you it did not. Disappoint.! I got the salmon & she got well sorry I forgot but I have pics. So delicious!!! She really liked it! The service is really good very informational. This place is real intimate good for a great date night anniversary birthday or whatever it's dim soft I really like it very comfortable & clean. Lil pricey but that's everywhere now days. Will be returning.!

The service was great, the special tonight halibut and pineapple rice was horrible. The halibut was dry and no flavor and the not fully cooked. First time and last time there

Came back for a family dinner and it's still 5 stars. The onion rings were still great, as was the Brie appetizer. My brother's lamb was very good but the star of the evening was the Chicken Wellington. Never seen one on a menu before and would love to see more of them.

    3 for $30 happy hour!

Their happy hour is 3 for $30. 3 full size appetizers. I sat at the bar and had a very enjoyable time. I got here early so not too much going on. I left just as things started getting busy. I had the deviled eggs, tacos and potato skins. All were delicious and my old fashioned was perfection. I got the feeling this is a locals hangout as most people seemed to know each other. Since I'm fairly new to the area and don't go to places regularly I felt a lil left out but got a good vibe from the place as everyone was friendly. Next time I'll be doing dinner.

Stepping into this restaurant feels like a delightful escape from Fresno. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant music and inviting ambience transport you straight to the bustling streets of New York City. The décor captures a blend of urban chic and cozy warmth, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The culinary offerings are truly exceptional. The meat is not only perfectly cooked but also bursting with flavors that tantalize the palate. Complementing the meal, the cocktails are a highlight in their own right. Refreshing and expertly crafted, they offer a delightful burst of flavor that enhances the overall experience. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. This restaurant not only serves amazing food and drinks but also creates an atmosphere that makes you forget where you are. I can't wait for my next visit to immerse myself in this little slice of New York in Fresno!

It had been awhile since I visited The Manhattan. I really like Rat Pack vibe. I had the almond prawns and the filet mignon quesadilla. Both were exceptional. The service was exactly as you'd expect from an upscale bar and restaurant. The bar staff was helpful, friendly and outgoing. The place looked like they were going to do magazine photo shoot. The bar was gleaming, every photo (and there are lots of them) was perfectly straight and the whole restaurant looked immaculate. There was also a young lady from Fresno State performing classic tunes from Sinatra, his cronies and his contemporaries. I really enjoyed the entire experience. Can't wait to go back..

Manhattan burger and fries from the happy hour menu.

I find it hard to give such a poor rating to a place with this kind of ambience & exceptional service which was/is TOP NOTCH. But I'm here for the food so let's go. We went for the Monday Happy Hour arriving around 4:30 pm without a reservation. As mentioned the service was exceptional but honestly the food was... meh. Now keep in mind we ordered off of the happy hour menu. Some tables in the restaurant were ordering steaks and other sides from the dinner menu and it all looked exceptional. We chose the Meatballs, Potato Skins, and Onion Rings from the "3 for $30" menu which is their happy hour special. We also added a Manhattan Burger to our order. To start the meatballs were overcooked and dry inside, even the marinara sauce which tasted like Prego from a jar couldn't save'em. The potato skins were too thick and cold in the middle. And the Onion Rings were "nothing to write home about" to quoting my late Father-In-Law. The Manhattan Burger did look like it was made in house but it lacked seasoning. Nothing else looked or tasted like it was homemade in their kitchen, just reheated in the kitchen.

Overpriced burnt ribeye with uncooked asparagus and boxed mashed potatoes.

Ask the Community - Manhattan Restaurant

Are jeans and a collared shirt appropriate for a guy? Going there tonight for the first time with my husband. Was not sure if he needed to wear slacks or not.

Yep! That is totally appropriate and typical attire for this restaurant. Have fun tonight!

Attributes states "Dressy Attire". Is a collared shirt and slacks/trousers/khaki pants dressy enough?

More than enough! It's just smart casual. My husband did the collared shirt and slacks and I wore a very causal simple dress.
