Enjoyed our drinks, cranberry juice with vodka and midori sour, and food. I happily snacked and filled up on both Pretzel & Cheese and Fish N Chips. We ride the bike trail a lot, and no ride is complete without a stop at Grogg's. Some rides we even hit Grogg's twice, once at the start and then again at the end of the ride. We always get great service (I especially love days when we catch Josiah behind the bar.) My husband always goes for a cocktail, but I think Grogg's has some of the coldest taps in town, so I go for a beer. And their food is great! After a long ride and a lot of day drinking, the clucks and fries are exactly what you want to eat!!! We've rolled in just the two of us, my husband and I, or we've come in with a group as big as 25, and no matter what, we're always greeted with fast and friendly service. And the vibe is total neighborhood bar. I can't think of a single time I've been at Grogg's and didn't pick up a few new friends. read more

normally when my husband and I go here we have an amazing service. The lady that normally takes care of us is really nice. However, this time when we went, it was a gentleman with a big beard with sunglasses on. We walked in. We weren't even acknowledged when my husband went to get a menu. He was ignored while the gentlemen waited on the table that was previously there. It didn't feel so friendly. We had a beer paid for it and left because one the gentleman never came to us and took our order and when I tried to call him over to our table I was ignored. Went there last week with a coworker. The staff are nice but I'm questioning the kind of customers that come in. My friend asked these 2 old men outside if they knew if the bar was open and they just scoffed at him and said "keep walkin'" Im not kidding and I'm not exaggerating. That was our only interaction. I believe those are the same old men that are usually sitting outside the bar at the tables. I know me and my coworker obviously don't look like the bars usual customers but I hope that the odd encounter didn't have anything to do with the fact we aren't white. We came pretty late and realized we couldn't order a drink. We didn't want any trouble. At that point i needed to use the restroom and just go, nothing more. I guess be careful of the old men that sit outside the bar. Don't ask them any questions or look in their direction. Hostile and unfriendly. But the staff was nice. read more

Stopped by here with some friends in the evening. Very fun, welcoming, laid back, chill, casual atmosphere. I enjoyed a BLT with mushrooms instead of bacon & also a side salad with Italian- good portion sizes. I also devoured some of their fries, fresh & crisp on the outside, hot on the inside. I ordered a soda, and our server, Amy, was very attentive with multiple refills, napkins, bbq sauce- whatever we needed. In addition to the beer and Margaritas that were enjoyed at our table, the food as a whole was quite tasty. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for the first time. It looks like an average bar with decent inside and outside seating. The staff was ok not rude or overly friendly. Our waitress was attentive until it got busy. There was a guy helping her but he kept walking by our table ignoring us or so it seemed. We went a good 30 minutes without a drink. This is why I gave them 3 stars. We started off with drinks. The drinks were decent. I didn't order anything complicated just a Jack and Sprite. The appetizers are pretty good. I had chicken strips with fries and pretzels with cheese. The food came out hot and flavorful . I liked the music that was playing and the option to put the app on your phone to select the music you want to hear. I would definitely come back one more time and hopefully the service is better. read more

St. Patrick's Day was our first time here. We went for lunch. They have a special annual menu for today. A credit card is required to order. It was busy, so we sat on the covered patio area. We were there fm 1130 am to 1 pm. It is a smoking area. It was so loud you could not have a conversation. This was because of so many people. The food was good and delivered to the table hot. The waitress worked really hard, running around like crazy. She still gave us her best. Lunch for two of us, with no alcohol was $55 plus tip. This included a $12 appetizer. read more

I had a great time at Groggs while having lunch on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Groggs is located on the corner of Willow/Nees in my favorite area of Fresno/Clovis. Our bartenders name was Josiah, and he did a great job taking care of my party. Josiah was prompt and very informational. I was able to get the Fish n Chips with a few bears and a couple glasses of Tullamore along the way. I tried the different combinations of Guiness drinks, including Bass, Cider, and Blue Moon. The Tullamore we chose was a special Cider Cask Edition, and it fit perfectly with my array of Guinness drinks. All in all a good time with great service, food, and drinks! read more

I love bars with the old school vibe. I can't stand the trendy bars with over priced drinks. I had never been to Griggs until our visit on Friday. The entire staff was very attentive and it's definitely an old school bar. The drinks were strong the bar was nice and cool with the AC going for one of those hot Fresno Days. Everyone knows if you a newbie as the only thing about Griggs is you gotta know which side to go pee. You go to the wrong side and the locals are like men's is on the other side. We have been coming here for years. I have come to have beers, to eat, to hang out. They are super busy all the time. They have good music, they have an array of people who come here, young and old, biker dudes to moms who have a night out. Every time I would say I have had pretty good service, the waitresses are usually pretty good, I wouldn't say they are the nicest of people, but they get the job done, and I would rather have that than a super cheesy waiter who takes forever. So you give some and you lose some. The drinks are good, and don't slack the alcohol and I probably will keep coming here again. read more

The first time I had ever been carded at Grog's, I gave them two forms of Id. My federal Veteran Retire card and my drivers license that I had not renewed due to traveling. I was refused service for the first time and I had never been carded prior to coming at all! So sad because I come regularly and I as turned away. read more

My husband and I came here, ironically, on Cinco de Mayo, because we felt like going out, but didn't want to go to a crazy-crowded bar. On Cinco de Mayo, Grogg's was blissfully chill. The bartender was friendly, and we got good service. Got some tasty IPAs (forget which ones) and split a Grogg's Cheese Steak sandwich, which was delicious. I always appreciate when a restaurant doesn't give you the side-eye for splitting a dish. Sometimes we go out and just aren't that hungry -- and when the servers are gracious about it, we're always sure to tip them as if we both ordered something. At Grogg's, they divided it up onto two plates, which I also appreciate. The chips were also good, although more "chippy" and less "potato-y" than I've had in similar places, so take note. The atmosphere was dark and comforting -- very barlike. There was some sports on TV which we found enjoyable at the time, but now I can't tell you exactly what we watched.
