Sunday I went in to have dinner and my server named Malachi was so attentive. He was very friendly and made my experience very nice. I went in alone. So it was nice that he interacted with me. Service was great. Food was good. Love the atmosphere but one thing that bugged me was one of the bartenders (not ours) with long dark hair and a butterfly tattoo decided to work her hair into a ponytail right at the bar area. It always grosses me out to see someone touching their hair and especially flinging it around near a food and bar station. It's just not sanitary. . I hate to give Mad Duck a poor score because it's a great place but management needs to set boundaries about what is allowed and what's not. read more

We got a burger which was $20, expected a decent burger but it was on cheep knock-off brioche bread, more like something you would get from Walmarts bakery and they used cheep velveta cheese on both burger and Philly cheese steak! I've been frequenting Baby Duck since they first opened. I love the personalities of each of the locations but I like this one most if I'm in between meetings but don't want to go home...I pop into this location to grab a bite, cocktail, and work on my laptop. I enjoy ordering off the monthly specials menu to switch it up. This visit I had the ceviche with plantain chips. It was the perfect amount for me to finish there without feeling like I had too much. The flavors were so good and I loved the combination with the plantain chips! Came here with a group of 5 for drinks and some food. I ordered a pineapple passionfruit milk punch. It was pretty good. I then ordered a pretzel for an appetizer and bread pudding to share. Coworkers got the goat cheese plate and calamari. The pretzel tasted stale. Like it had been in the freezer awhile. But I still ate it! The calamari was quite generous portion from my previous experiences of ordering it at the Marks/Herndon location. And the goat cheese plate looked amazing. I tried a few pieces of the dried apricots. They primarily have beer for drinks but they had a few wines available. I wish more breweries would take us wine drinkers into consideration. They did not have any Moscato on menu and no sangria. Their only margarita was not a blended one, just on the rocks. But the pineapple drink I got was sweet enough for me. So I got there at around 8:30, starving, and this filled me up pretty good. I got the steak bites which was seasoned to perfection and buttery. Tater tots are also a must. We went to the Mad Duck for a late lunch and this place was amazing: great ambiance, great food, stellar service from our multi-tasking server Carissa. As soon as we walked into the door, we were greeted by Carissa. She took our order, delivered our food and drink, came by to check after us more than once, always with a radiant smile on her face while multi-tasking. Yes, Carissa was multitasking and handling it wonderfully. I wondered how Carissa could do all that and more. As a matter of fact she was the only person on the floor tending to all 7 parties there at the time, not to mention she also mixed drink (bartending) and answered the phone, even bussed the table for the next party . I observed her while eating my food and was amazed by her efficiency and her professionalism! She never stopped working! Only after we finished our food that another person joined Carissa on the floor, and the bartender came on his shift, probably back from his lunch break. We will certainly be back to the Mad Duck when we are back in Clovis again on our next business trip which is every two weeks! I would like for the Mad Duck manager or owner to take note of my comment and value Carissa as their "must-have" employee! For me the good food and great service come hand in hand. I have visited this restaurant a couple of times. Today, was exceptional! Dani & Savana were our servers. The food (Asian Chicken Salad, Cobb Salad & Gilroy Garlic Fries) Absolutely delicious!! The service was spot on. I also believe the pricing is a nod of acceptance as well. I recently returned to Fresno/Clovis after living in Phoenix. Happy to be living near this friendly establishment. Great local spot. We like this location over the one next to Fresno State just more welcoming in general. We come here often and the service is much more personal and welcoming. I have been to the Clovis location several times and every time was worth the trip. The worst part of each time was deciding what delicious menu item to order. The one item on the menu I can't seem to get away from is their sweet potato fries with curry aioli. A few other favorites are the Walnut & Field Green Salad, Beet Salad and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The Deviled eggs are also pretty awesome. The restaurant seating and lighting are very pub-like and the staff are friendly, helpful and usually smiling. Please don't take my lack of beer review as a slight for the Mad Duck--I don't drink beer ...ever. read more

The dude and I decided to get Mad Duck for dinner around April 2020. As many restaurants due to COVID-19 no dine in is available only take out. This is the first time we tried out the Clovis location as we would frequent the one by Fresno State. Anywho, I called in the order which due to the pandemic they got rid of a lot of menu items like the Chef Pub burger which was my favorite. I got something similar but with Turkey patty as I don't eat beef. The dude got a burger as well which was beef. We also got their signature Blueberry Elderflower alcoholic beverage which serves two. Very delicious as always! We also got an order of ribs which was delicious but not the best but it was tasty! The dude who took my order was very patient but was not aware of some menu items and had to go check. Overall, the food is good as always! I do wanna try dine in once we are able to! Good food! Surprised I've never entered a review for this Mad Duck location-been here many times. Great for parties of 2 maybe 4, if you have a bigger group try their location at Campus Point close by. Our most recent visit was in May 2023 -Monday afternoon beers and tater tots. Delicious tater tots! Tried one of their seasonal spring beers-great! Good service sitting at the bar, we got there right at opening time. There Buffalo chicken dip is so good! Deviled eggs are great too. Great place to stop after/before Target shopping too, in the same shopping center. read more

Love The Mad Duck. Beer is good, staff is great food is always good (one exception). Lulu burger is a favorite with us, steak bites and reveled eggs are great little meals for those low carb-ing it. I've been eating there for years and have only had one thing on the menu to disappoint me, twice. The French Dip has a very odd taste. Not only that, first time I had it most of the meat was inedible, mostly gristle. Waitress gave me a new one after asking why I hadn't eaten it. New one had better quality meat but still the odd taste. Flash forward about a year... forgot I didn't like it and ordered it again at lunch with my wife. Still odd taste, no gristle. But I still couldn't eat it. Pretty horrible actually. So, I really do like the place, just pass on the French Dip. I hope I remember that I should pass on it next time. Getting old sucks. read more

Last visit, we brought in our Mad Duck growler, but they wouldn't fill it, because I didn't bring the cap, and they had no caps. Why did they have no caps? Because, as two servers explained, they don't have storage space to spare for stocking new caps. Seriously. You know how many growler caps you could fit in a shoebox-sized space? Who saves their caps for reuse? They're disposable items. And how do you not have room for caps but somehow manage to store, you know, the growlers themselves? These are questions I was too gobsmacked to ask, and I didn't want to be combative. Why even take it home again if I can't get it filled? So I left it on the table. But it's not even about a few dollars wasted on a now-useless growler, it was the staff's helpless attitude and having my intelligence insulted. I give 2 stars because the food is great, but there's not exactly a shortage of restaurants in the Fresno-Clovis area with great food that won't jerk me around, you know? Very disappointed! The Fresno Rodeo was on and they made excuses because of it! There were empty tables everywhere and yet we still had to wait awhile. The service was lousy! We had to flag down our server any time we needed or wanted anything. They served the drinks in plastic cups because the dishwashers supposedly couldn't keep up with cleaning the glasses. They blamed it on the rodeo. The only thing served in a glass was water. They made a terrible raspberry lemon drop. It was served(again) in a plastic cup, and when the server brought it there was maybe 2oz only in the 16oz cup. The alcohol was overpowering with only a hint of raspberry and lemon. The fish and chips were crispy on the outside but under cooked on the inside. There was only 2 small pieces and no seasoning. They tasted blah. The fries was the only good thing with the meal. The tacos were tiny and very mild when they were supposed to be spicy. They brie melted grilled chicken sandwich was okay. We also had to remind the waitress to take the raspberry lemon drop off the bill(that I didn't drink). My husband talked to the manager about how disappointed we were. The manager said nothing and he didn't even say,"I'm sorry you were disappointed, nothing!" My husband informed him that we wouldn't be leaving a tip , to remove the 3% tacked onto the bills now, and we wouldn't be coming back. When we like a place we always leave a minimum of 20%. This is the first time we didn't leave a tip So disappointing when we were told it was a great place to eat. read more

Chefs Pub. It Ger was good but small for a "PUB" burger. Bun delicious and fried yummy. Buffalo chicken dip..... not a fan tasted like cream cheese I don't like hot stuff. It it needed way more reds hot sauce. Maybe should be served with a bottle in the side, possibly some shopped green k ion or chives On top to finish it, chips good.
