Had a reservation but was seated at a table next to the back door which everyone left open while it was RAINING! We get there and order drinks. Then 10 minutes later we Order our meal. We get our food and still no drinks. They finally arrive AFTER our meal. The food lacked seasoning and was not very impressive for the price. The waitress was more interested in helping the table of prom goers and drunk rodeo patrons. We were celebrating my sister's 65th birthday. It was very disappointing. Will not be back.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal at The Local in Clovis! The food was excellent...fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We started with the tuna tartare, which was light and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and my wife had the strawberry arugula salad and both were absolutely delicious and beautifully balanced. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the restaurant could use a little interior refresh. The paint on the walls had quite a few chips and marks, and the TVs weren't working, which made the space feel a bit dated. That said, the food alone makes it well worth visiting. With a little sprucing up, this place could easily be a 5-star spot!

Meh. To be honest, it wasn't very memorable or anything to rave about. It wasn't bad though. I don't want to knock on a nice, family-owned business but I also don't want to lie on my review either. It was just... OK. It was a group of us: 7 adults + 3 kids. We were celebrating one of our girlfriend's bday. This was back in April, so it's been a minute. We were seated at a big table in the back... I entered through the back so I'm not sure what the front even looks like lol. Overall vibe seemed pretty chill, casual... not too fancy. We started off with a few cocktails while we waited for everyone to trickle in. Right off the bat, I asked the guy who took our drink order what one of the ingredients were in one of the drinks and his response kind of rubbed us all the wrong way. Instead of saying "give me one moment, let me go find out for you" because he didn't know either... he made some smart ass remark along the lines of... "I wouldn't know" or "I wish I knew". Those aren't the exact words, but you get the gist. So, we ended up googling it and I went with a different option (Margarita, per usual). Eventually, our waitress came and was a little more educated on their menu. She handled our group very well so props to her-- because some of the girls can get a little rowdy after a few shots. I ordered the Artichoke Shrimp Scampi (I think). My memory isn't serving me on that part but my picture looks pretty close to what I saw online and it sounds about right-- something I'd order. I know I liked it, but I didn't love it. I def remember packing leftovers, that I never ate (bf finished it). I ate a few bites of the tempura green beans that my friend ordered, as well as the Mac & Cheese. The green beans were my favorite part of the dinner. I've never been here prior to this, and it probably wouldn't pop up as a first choice for me still, but if my friends decided to want to go here again, I'd gladly go back and try something new... & hopefully up the rating.

We may have encountered the NICEST and most chill server ever. What an overall lovely experience. Service was outstanding, and food was delicious. I'm 100% sure that you need to eat here, or at least enjoy a well-made cocktail. Wish I knew her name...she was great!

This is a hidden gem in Clovis great food with great prices.. we usually have good service but last Friday Gerrit was amazing and very personable.. their selection is a wide variety from casual the full-blown meals I would totally recommend this restaurant.

We came on a Sunday not knowing quite what to expect. There is limited information on their website but they offer only brunch from 10am-2pm. It's set up like a hotel and a few of the warmers weren't warm. The price for bottomless mimosas was a good deal, as one mimosa cost $8, and bottomless cost $16. The price for brunch though was pretty expensive at like $26-$27 per person. The place was cute and the service was nice but we won't be back again for brunch. We're willing to try at a different time with their normal menus.

My family and I had an outstanding experience at The Local. We visit local restaurants monthly for family time with our adult children and youngest daughter. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and consistently excellent--from appetizers through entrées. Portions (except the filet my son said ) were generous without sacrificing quality, and the kitchen's timing was spot on. Even with a full dining room, our dishes arrived at ideal temperature and doneness, and the flavors were balanced rather than heavy-handed. It is clear the culinary team takes pride in their craft. Service, however, is where The Local truly distinguishes itself. Our server, Kristin, was attentive in all the right ways: frequent but unobtrusive check-ins, proactive refills, and a keen awareness of our table's needs. She engaged our family warmly and professionally, anticipated requests before we voiced them, and coordinated seamlessly with her colleagues so that nothing slipped. The standout moment--and the reason I am writing this review--was Kristin's (hope her name as i am bad with names) extraordinary compassion during an unusual situation that unfolded across much of the day. A gentleman living with dementia, who had been missing since late morning (around 11:00 a.m.), reappeared at the restaurant close around 815 pm, evidently because he felt safe and comfortable there--particularly with Kristin's presence as he held her hand. Kristin briefly stepped away from our table (with sincere apologies) to locate his sister and help reunite them, even though she had multiple tables to manage. When the gentleman declined to leave with his sister and appeared unsure or unsafe, Kristin quickly and appropriately contacted local law enforcement for supportive assistance. Her judgment was calm, trauma‑informed, and focused on the guest's dignity and welfare. Equally noteworthy was the teamwork displayed by The Local's staff. While Kristin assisted the family, the host, floor team, and (from what we could tell) the kitchen coordinated to cover her section and keep service humming. Communication among staff was clear and respectful, and other guests were kept informed without drama. The restaurant maintained a welcoming atmosphere throughout a delicate situation--no small feat at any hour, let alone near closing. In short, The Local offers excellent food and a service culture that goes far beyond the usual. Kristin and the team demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment under pressure. I highly recommend this restaurant--not only for the meal you will enjoy, but for the people who make that experience possible. She even took this picture for us :-).

Came by The Local with a couple of friends on a Wednesday night for a casual dinner. I made a reservation for 6 people easily about 3 hours before, and there were plenty of slot times available. Definitely make sure to get a reservation beforehand because it got pretty busy once we were seated. Thankfully we did not have to wait long to be seated since we had our reservation. They have a decently-sized menu of apps, entrees, and drinks that does not feel too overwhelming with options. I had the artichoke shrimp scampi, served with a lovely creamy sauce with risotto. The portion size was perfect for a singular person, leaving my appetite well satisfied at the end of the meal. One of my friends got the Bolognese and felt that it was a bit dry and needed more sauce. Thankfully, our server was able to bring out more sauce for her! If you're looking at drinks, I would highly recommend trying J's Old Fashioned, which is one of the sweeter old fashioneds I've tried Overall, this place had great food options, a super cute vibe with warm lighting, and fantastic service. I would definitely go here again for another casual outing with friends!

Went on a holiday Monday afternoon, and it was slow, quiet. The staff were kind and very inventive. They were accommodated with our changes on orders, which we appreciate! The menu was lunch menu and had a good amount of options for being a local restaurant. My drink was very good!! The food as well. We ordered the hummus and fried green beans for appetizers. For my entree I ordered the California chicken sandwich. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It feels homey and love the sunlight that comes in through the front windows. I can't wait to come again!

I tried brunch today for the first time and had to update my review ... unfortunately, very disappointed... I felt misled. I thought this was menu based brunch spot and was surprised to find out it is in fact a $26 pp buffet (it does not specify that online) ... I ended up not ordering anything because I prefer fresh food and don't have an appetite big enough to justify the price for food just sitting in tin dishes. $16 for bottomless mimosas which honestly I wouldn't recommend either, they're premade batches with little to no (flat) champagne ... I will say service was great! The staff is very kind and tentative. Shout out to the chef Gary, he is great and sent out a delicious bread pudding which really made up for my lack of meal. Very bummed about this overall experience, I wanted to be happy with it but definitely won't be back for brunch unless they do away with the buffet.

This was such a cute place to visit with one of my besties. There were so many vendors selling their antiques and delicious pastries. The area was very clean and the staff were professional. It was a lot bigger than what I expected which for 7 bucks entrance fee was awesome. The parking was easy to get to and was gated. We were also able to visit a coffee shop across the street as well as a lunch restaurant after the event. Idk how often this is held but we will be scheduling another date to get out there!

I love the local it's one of my go to spots in Clovis. I do like going during the less busy hours which is usually when they open. The food is great and so is the service. We typically dine in the bar area so we can talk to the bartender since she's always so lovely. I just recently went to eat a beef dip and mac&cheese after a long drive back into town. The service was great and so was the food. I have gone for their all you can eat brunch which is really good and it's decently priced. I'll add more pictures on my next visit.

This restaurant knows how to make a mean steak. Seasoned to perfection and actually cooked the way you want it. The best is their dry aged prime and it's worth every penny of it. The dry aged adds such an umami depth of flavor to the meat with the subtle garlic and rosemary aroma infused through the butter that it's cooked in. Couldn't ask for more! Actually you can! The best pairing with their steak has to be the top 3 sides here. Hatched chili Mac and cheese, buttery mashed potatoes, and grilled sourdough! The Mac was smooth and creamy, but that hatched chili that added a subtle back of the throat heat is such a nice added touch! Self explanatory on the butter mashed potatoes, who could resist? The grilled sourdough was perfectly toasted and buttery and it came with 3 toppings, for me is the aioli to spread. I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THIS A 5! But there is just one miss here. The 4 mentioned were the most recommended by staff and from Yelp. AS YOU SHOULD! It is definitely what to order. The two times we went out here we tried two different dishes outside of the recommended. Their pasta dish and the fried lobster. Unfortunately it was a miss for us. It was good, but it didn't feel like there was much attention to these dishes compared to the one that they are known for. But still good nonetheless.

We had no idea what to expect, but it ended up being such a fun night. There were five of us in our bay, and from the start the staff was super attentive. Since it was our first visit, they walked us through how everything worked and made sure we were comfortable using the system. We had a couple small hiccups figuring things out, but every time someone came by, they checked in, helped us out, and made sure we were good. The bay system itself is really cool lots of sensors and very interactive. That first swing is a little intimidating because you're not sure how hard to hit or where the ball will go, but once you realize you can swing freely and the system tracks everything, it's actually a blast. We ordered food, and honestly, sometimes bar-style places are hit or miss with food but not here. Everything was really good. We ordered sliders, onion rings, bruschetta, and it all came out hot and tasty. My daughter also ordered about three or four Shirley Temples and everyone kept checking in on refills and food. We had the bay for an hour we did not know what to expect but we could have booked it for more time! During our hour were given a heads-up when we had about 10 minutes left, which we appreciated. We actually went a little over while waiting for help moving our food to the dine-in area, and they were very kind about it no rushing us at all. After the bay, we moved to the dine-in area, finished eating, and chatted with our server, who was incredibly friendly and genuinely excited about the place. He explained memberships, told us about the upstairs lounge, and even allowed us to glance around. The upstairs area overlooks the bays and bar and would be great for events or just hanging out it's a really nice setup. The space itself is deceiving from the outside. It looks small, but once you're inside, it's very spacious with deep bays and plenty of room. Noise level was perfect not too loud, music was at a great volume, and we could easily talk, order food, and enjoy the experience. They also host games and fights, with TVs at the bar. As we were leaving, the kids tried the putting area, which was another fun surprise. It has laser-style visuals that show where your ball is going, and they loved it. We probably spent another 10 minutes there just letting them enjoy it. Overall, from the games to the food to the service, everything was excellent. We left with leftovers, happy kids, and a great experience. It's been a long time since we've had service this attentive, and we truly appreciated it. We'll definitely be back. Additionally the decor and vibe is really nice inside! Classy upscale location.
