stopping by chubby's diner to eat lunch and work...thought i saw a wrap or burrito in one of the pictures on yelp, but didn't see it on the menu...decided to take chubby's double burger $17.99 and a water...overall, everything could have been better...the burger patties were overcooked and bit dry....the buns were too soft and could not hold the burger...whole burger just fell apart and it turned into a messy meal...the fries were the worst ever had...just dry and wasn't good...not even crispy...$19.60 after tax...pushing the price to about $23 total after tip for a burger and fries...price was steep... read more

I have been here many times over the years. Mostly for breakfast and it is always quite good. For lunch, they have fine hamburgers, and a large variety of sandwiches and other stuff. The service has always been great. And it has that cool retro look. read more

2/17/24 Getting breakfast for tomorrow! Egg white veggie breakfast burrito ordered with ham in it and hot sauce on the side. The worker was Great and said it would be ready in about 15 min. I went in to get it. The restaurant is nice. Safe, clean & practiced! Sparkly seats, booths and a breakfast bar. Greeted upon entering and a worker told me it's almost finished. It was. If you eat there, they take care of you and your food is good. If you order take out, they don't care if you tell them you have a dairy allergy, they will add the cheese anyway. They will send what they say is Turkey Breast Sandwich with the cut-up butt ends of processed turkey loaf! Disgusting! read more

Good-it's local, weekends are very busy parking plenty of you don't mind walking. Waitress somewhat friendly, but she seems so rushed. The food varies from okay/good to humm. not today. Liking the soup n sandwich, pancakes are generous but.. went one time and asked for hash browns and got ? watery mashed potato pancakes? Great 50s -style diner. The food was great with perfect size portions. I ordered "The Hit Parade" two eggs with hamburger patty. I added grilled onions and mushrooms on the patty. It came with breakfast potatoes and toast. Our waitress was pleasant. Always came to the table with a smile. read more

Food is good but staff is too aggressive when it comes to tips. I went to go pick up my food and used my card, then the cashier lady asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the person who took the order over the phone. I felt obligated at that point. I only tip if I'm eating in but not picking up my food. It made me uncomfortable. They need to stop doing that, or they will definitely lose customers moving forward. Do better. read more

Best Food in Kerman hands down family owned constant quality food. I've lived in the Kerman area for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience. My only complaint would be is when they stop serving dinner. It was our favorite dinner restaurant for years. read more

I really miss Chubby's in Madera. Was surprised to see one in Kerman but it really wasn't the same. The waiter was decent, but when I ordered my burger with sour dough he should have known or asked if I wanted the bread toasted. I don't know any other sandwich on their menu with sour dough that isn't toasted. The other issue is the hand sanitizer dispenser in the front of the restaurant was empty. I guess they don't care if their customers spread the virus? I might eat hear again but it will be after the pandemic. I don't want to die for a Chubby original with cheese. read more

Our family loves this place just wish they had later hours. The food is always fresh and the staff is amazing!

Traditional diner breakfast. Good, hearty food and plenty of coffee refills. Me and Karl went here on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and it was full so we opted to sit at the immediately available counter seats. We were waited on almost instantly for drinks and provided with menus. I got the Texas omelette which has chili, cheese and onions with the potatoes and wheat toast. Karl had a ham skillet type dish. Both were filling and good. The chili was canned I believe but it was still satisfying. I could not eat even half of my plate and I was stuffed. The potatoes are pan fried but hash browns are an option as well. I liked the pan fried ones which I believe are slightly healthier. The inside is typical diner, maybe a little dated and on the smaller size. It's fine for what it is. I would definitely come back to try other breakfast options as well as the burgers featured on their lunch menu. read more

I used to go to cubby's as a kid and didn't acknowledge the charm of this little diner. Now as a adult/resident in this community, I can admire the friendly, fast staff and the amazing breakfast we get there occasionally. Love the pancakes! Perfect representation of our little town. read more

I love going to chubby's the Chubby original burger is amazing. they have a special sauce and make their buns from scratch. The customer service is great and all the workers are so nice. Also when I I just want to a bugger I call and pick it up and pay. They 1950s vibe in there is so cool and retro. I think around lunch time and after church it gets a bit crowded. read more

I like how you can choose either salad, fruit or fries with your burger. I've gone here twice and both times I've liked how they cook the meat on the burger. My mom tried the BBQ burger and she loved it. Regret not taking a picture, but I have liked the food so far. It gets busy pretty fast. Wish they had more room for people to sit . read more

ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon, they asked if I wanted cheese I said yes, basically there was one piece bacon and there was pretty much no signs of cheese, it was also super dry. for the price one is paying you wold expect a nicer portion or something. 13.07 for a mediocre breakfast burrito would not recommend. read more

Haven't been to a Chubby's in a while. The service was decent and the food was tasty. I went for the California chicken salad. They grill the chicken in teriyaki sauce. It was tender and there was enough sauce so that I did not need dressing. It was a little confusing - I still don't know what teriyaki has to do with CA. The French bread was also a mystery as it was a hamburger bun with garlic butter, whatever, it worked. read more

Just passing thru Kerman last night saw Chubbys and stopped in. The wife and I got burgers and fries, mine being chili fries. Excellent burgers good fries great chili and the buns were so much better than your usual hamburger bun.Great friendly staff the oldies music and decor were cool.The anly thing missing on a hot summer night were the hotrods in the Parking Lot.
