We ordered and paid our food at the register. The restaurant was a bit small. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito, and pancakes and eggs. The biscuits and gravy were okay. It has a lot of butter and bits of bacon which I'm not used to. My son said the breakfast burrito was the best he has.

FOUND THIS GEM ON YELP and was so thankful to have came by and check it out while working in Fresno. This little spot is awesome!! Do your life a favor and swing by if your the area. I came by on a Thursday and was happy to see they were serving up breakfast burritos. I went with a ham and cheese burrito and that thing was PACKED with flavor. It was also MASSIVE. A 10 out of 10 and worth every penny I spent. Thank you Sunnyside diner for the great food! I will defenitly be back for that burrito again. Till next time!

Sandwich was simple and easy. The chef looked like he owns the place. He was very attentive to what I ordered and how to prepare the food to my preference. It had an old school type of fast food type of vibe without it being fast food type of food. Used fresh eggs and toasted the bread. I would go again for a sandwich. The coffee was simple diner type but it wasn't gross. It tasted fresh.

The Sunnyside Diner is hands-down the best spot in South Fresno if you want quality food and great prices. Everything tastes homemade. The hamburgers are just like the burgers you make at home, and the omelettes are on another level. You can get a tri-tip omelette loaded with all the fixings, a carne asada omelette, or even a ground beef omelette that's honestly one of the best I've had. The dinners are great, and the clam chowder is excellent and extra clammy, just the way it should be. The breakfast burritos are awesome and at a great price, nice and large too. I can't say enough good things about this place. The customer service is always excellent.

This is one of those little hidden gems that you don't always hear about. Why, who knows! But, if you haven't been it's well worth checking out. I've been here numerous times over the years & the food is always good, decent little set up & the owner is also friendly. It is a small spot with I think 5-6 tables, so seating is definitely limited. All in all: Good food, friendly service, but seating is very limited. However, it's always good to support our local small business!

Wow this place caught me off guard. I was looking for a cute diner to get breakfast and there's not much in Fresno. We "settled" on this one. When we got there, who I believe is the owner, greeted us immediately and told us about their menu and specials. The portions are perfect size and left us completely content. My pancake platter was fluffy and full of flavor. My partners burrito had the perfect proportions of food inside. Will definitely be coming back when I come into town again!

Sunnyside Diner... what a gem this place is! Came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and I was so glad I did.Upon entering, I was greeted and asked if it was my first time there, and it was. Lupe showed me where the specials were and was so helpful. When ready, I went up to the counter and ordered. Though there are many comfort food options, I was also so pleased to see a Veggie Burger- it was very good, probably one of the best I've had at a restaurant-the patty was crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, and very flavorful. I asked for a side of rice, and I had a choice of Spanish Rice, Jasmine Rice, or Rice Pilaf. I had the Rice Pilaf. My food came out pretty fast and very fresh, and might I say, for a diner, their attention to presentation and detail was very commendable. The fries coming with the burger was awesome, I ate them so quickly, couldn't get enough! The decor is very simple, but has all you'd need, clean tables and chairs. While I ate there, two more groups came in and it was their first times too- they all received the same cordial & helpful greetings. Good food, good value, good service- I'm one happy camper, and I will return again!

Fresno, CA Great little place, really good Spanish influence dishes. Family Run business, What's not to love.

What a little gem! We were passing through this area on our way to Tollhouse and decided to stop for breakfast. Greeted immediately by the owner, we felt welcomed and appreciated. The meal was freshly prepared and excellent. I am picky about my bacon and this bacon was done to perfection. Not too crispy and not too chewy. We highly recommend this diner and will return when we are hungry and in the area again!

The meal she said I'd like was the " Bomb Ass Shit" and let me tell ya it was packed with some great flavor!!' The fried rice was so good I never been much of a chow mein person, but this fried rice was really savory. I also enjoyed the spicy beef it has some great season and the beef was cooked so well you could till this place took pride in the meats it's served and the fresh produce as well, I killed all my broccoli hahah. I had enough on my plate for two people but I ate as much as I could and brought the rest back home. Pro tip: cook and over medium egg the next morning, warm the rice on a frying pan or Nuke it, place the over medium egg on top of this amazing fried rice and you got yourself a bomb breakfast. The ambiance is spacey, relaxing and clean, before I walked in they were mopping the floors and cleaning all tables so I know how clean it is and how thorough they were to make sure it was prepared for the rush on a Friday evening. Overall I really enjoyed me Experience, people complain about the price but for me that was more than enough food for two people and the quality of meat, produce, chicken and authenticity of style of cooking, and that personality when you first come in is something you can't pay for, and an experience worth trying. I'll be back again and thank you for the amazing food.

I absolutely love the service and humor goes a long way when enjoying a "Big A** plate" , she wondered why I haven't been there before this, but Fresno is a very big city and I'm sure there are other places I haven't been to either. I used chop sticks for sampling which created a smile on her face and an expression of appreciation was noticed. Check the pictures and see what you think.

When you walk in you are greeted with a cozy area with a few tables and an open kitchen to the left side, all of the tables were occupied when we got there but luckily one opened up right after we got there. One thing I will mention upfront, and this is NOT a complaint; if you are in an impatient person who wants to be served immediately, don't come here. There isn't a lot of staff and ordering and food takes a bit of time, I think thats just fine, plus the food is worth the wait! I got the shrimp po boy with yams and mac and cheese, my mom got the fried chicken with pilaf and potato salad. The po boy was delicious, the mac and cheese was good, and the yams were absolutely fantastic. The fried chicken was even better, and I'm sad I didn't get it if I'm being honest! It was some of the best fried chicken I have ever had, second only to my Grandma's fried chicken. I can see why this place was rated as one of the 30 best black owned restaurants in the country. I also got a slice of their peach cobbler to take home and share with my wife, and once again, it was one of the best pieces of peach cobbler I've ever had, and once again, second only to my Grandma's. The top crust was especially delicious, I am not sure what they did but it was fantastic! (Oh wish they had rice but understand that may not be traditional)

But-- bf saw a tiktok on it and wanted to try it sooo... why not? Every place deserves a second chance at least, right? First visit, I don't remember which Chilaquiles plate I got nor do I remember which drink, but, I feel like my first instinct would've been the Horchata Latte (like I ordered today) or the Churro one, which is probably a good chance. Again, I don't remember raving about the food or the drink back then, but-- I can say I know I didn't not like it, it just didn't wow me enough to come back. Today, we ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes and the Torta with Chorizo to share. He got a coke and I got that Horchata Latte. First sip of that Latte was delicious, coffee flavor was there, no Horchata really.... until a few sips down the line and it was nothing but Horchata lol sooo-- we must've done a horrible job at stirring the drink and sipped up all the coffee portion. The drink was really good today though, regardless. As for the Chilaquiles... in his words, "fire". I can't say it's the best I've ever had but it was good, satisfied us for sure. The Torta was actually pretty good as well. I have a thing about pickled Jalapeños though... i don't care for them. I'll eat them but i prefer fresh jalapeños... he didn't mind it. He said the pickled peppers reminded him of how they make it in Mexico. Overall, we enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was well kept, and the food was good. If this was his yelp, I'm sure he'd probably shoot them the 5 stars from today's visit. I did really enjoy it today but I'm not 100% sold... Until it becomes a need for me to go back, I'd probably stick them between a 3-4. We'll round up.
