This place is amazing! Open floor plan, well lit, and relaxing. I had a wrap with spectacular seasonings. Everyone was incredibly friendly and it showed that they loved what they do. A new Go-To for me

The food was delicious! My first time having an espresso martin so Yum! I had the Chocolate French Toast my husband had Eggs And Stuff the pita was home made and so perfect! The inside is super welcoming and comfortable! The service was very good and you can tell that it's a family run business! We will be back to try something different on the menu because I'm sure everything is good!

Oh my gosh, this place is amazing! Inside of the restaurant is really cool, I love how it looks and how it's decorated. Looks like it would be a great place to take a date too. Today I came by myself for lunch just to try it out, and I am so happy I did. The food was amazing and the service was too. They have a pretty big menu to choose from and everything on the menu sounded so good. So I went with 2 choices (knowing I will be eating leftovers for dinner). I got the Lebanese spirit (it was kinda like a Lebanese pizza) and it was delicious! I also got the steak and hummus which also tasted amazing and it came with a basket of fresh pita bread. My rating on Zaatar Bistro, service and food I ordered today, 10 out of 10.

I told my daughter about this place and she invited me. So she wanted to try the favas Beans and the hummus with the mushrooms. So we ordered and they came right after. The food was delicious. She love it. The beans are very filling and with the refreshing raw veggies perfect combo. I really love that. Also the hummus with the pitta oh my. So good. They made the pita breads right in the moment and they come very fluffy and hot. Really wonderful. This time I missed ordering the coffee latte. But it was after 3. I need to go back and get me one of their good delicious lattes. They have different flavors. Also next time I might get some of their sweet pastries. They have a bakery there so they are fresh. The ambiance is very familiar and friendly. I am ready to comeback.

I tried the American Spirit today--a classic plate of waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and fries, done in true American style. It was my first time ordering a breakfast dish here. Overall, the meal struck a decent balance between comfort and a sense of freshness and quality. That said, I personally prefer my bacon and waffles a bit crispier, and the fries were fairly ordinary and did not stand out. Service was a mixed experience. My server was warm and friendly, but not particularly attentive. I had to wait for utensils after they were forgotten, and my water was not refilled until I was nearly finished with my meal and ready to leave. I also noticed that servers who were not directly attending to my table tended to avoid eye contact and did not engage much. I often found myself setting the tone--offering a smile or initiating conversation--before receiving that same energy in return. All in all, nothing about the food or service stood out as exceptional during this visit.

My 2nd visit here, I dined in at lunchtime on a Thursday. Suggested by my fabulous server, Meg, I tried and LOVED a non-alcoholic spirit, the Cranberry Cosmo. Since I had not yet eaten breakfast, I ordered avocado toast. Slightly generous, but just the right amount, of avocado spread. Also arugula, caramelized onions, balsamic sauce, heirloom tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and light balsamic sauce on wheat bread. It was delicious and fulfilling. Had to ask about the WTF (What's Trending Fresno) dessert, and ordered it for take out. On this day, the WTF was Daisy Cat. My littles and I enjoyed and devoured it at home. My 1st visit was in attendance for a private party over a year ago. Very appeased to return, and looking forward to reordering same and trying more on subsequent visits. Also, Naj shared with me their new location downtown, in The Galleria, opened a week or two ago!

I came here for the very first time on a Sunday morning with my husband after running at Woodward. The waiter who initially took our order was average and a bit hard to find, but we were later helped by someone who was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience better. We tried the chocolate French toast and the all American breakfast. The food came out fresh and tasted delicious. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients, which stood out to me. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy, with lots of plants and warm woven decor on the walls and baskets that give it a nice atmosphere. Overall, I might come back because the food was great, but the service did not fully impress me.

Held a dinner meeting at Zaatar and the staff was very accommodating with find us a table in a good place. I was recommended the Garden Mojito (non-alcoholic refresher) and it was perfect. The food & dessert was amazing! This is my 2nd time and just as good as I remembered.

First time at Zaatar Bistro (and first time ever trying zaatar itself) and it was a hit! We walked in and were quickly seated at a table for two with good natural lighting. It was around 11:30am on a Wednesday so it wasn't super busy. I appreciated the holiday decorations they had up as well. We ordered the Red Nectar teapot to start, which was perfect for the gloomy day. While we sipped on that, our orders of the kafta special and the Lebanese spirit came out, and I was blown away. The Lebanese spirit was wayyyy bigger than it looks in pictures. It was basically a small/personal pizza, and I was full after like 2-3 slices (and I picked off the kafta as well, so maybe I could've done one more slice). The kafta special was tasty and the sauce it came with added just the perfect amount of moisture. The fries were pretty standard, regular fries. Our waitress was relatively attentive but not overbearing. We appreciated her service. Will be back!

Had been wanting to visit here and finally did for breakfast on a weekend. Got there before 9am and only 1-2 other tables. Sat by the window which has a nice corner bench. Pistachio lattes are apparently their specialty which was nicely flavored. Got the breakfast hummus which was huge portion and is scrambled eggs on top of hummus and surprisingly good! Their bread is warm and seems freshly made. We also got one of their omelettes which were decent and their specialty combo breakfast which comes with fresh veggies, labneh and this flatbread like dish which was so nicely seasoned. Ambiance is festive and fun. Staff attentive enough for weekend and professional.

I've heard great things about Zaatar and was able to finally try it out! Went during brunch time and they have a small brunch menu selection for the weekends. My plate contained eggs, fries, a salad, and a slice of toast. The eggs were really good, fluffy. I ordered some bacon (3 pieces for $3.50) and it was perfectly cooked. But the thing that was the most satisfying was the espresso martini. It's perfectly balanced (coffee, liquor, texture). The service was great! Very attentive, open to answer questions. It's cute inside with lots of seating. They have a bar too which they were showing the NFL football game, perfect for people who want to get some food/drinks and watch the game. I believe they had the sound on but not too sure. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu for lunch and dinner. And I'm for sure coming back for the espresso martini.

A full service restaurant, ready to receive you for breakfast lunch or dinner! With gorgeous decor giving an earthy vibe paired with upbeat music you are sure to be in a great mood! Staff were so kind and patient. Stopping in for lunch was amazing! I noticed their vast drink menu and all the drinks sound quite yummy so I'll definitely be back to try some of those! The wrap had great flavor that wasn't overwhelming and the fries paired nicely. Also the pita bread was so fluffy, hadn't had one like this in a while so i was pleasantly surprised! I look forward to visiting either of their locations again!

Mango tea. My friends liked this.

I enjoyed an ok lunch here with friends recently. I was looking forward to it and based on the reviews I expected excellent food and friendly service. The food was good, the ambiance was fine, the drinks were ok, and the service was polite but I would not say friendly despite the efforts of our little group to be friendly to our server. She seemed like she was having a bad day or maybe had some bad news on her mind. For drinks at first I ordered a pear mocktail. It was very expensive, and the server said they didn't have any pear flavoring so they'd sub another fruit (maybe peach?) and it basically was just very expensive soda water with no flavor. I should have said no to it after she said the pear mocktail wouldn't have any pear in it. So that's on me. Other friends got the mango tea and seemed to enjoy that a lot more. The food was good. I got the appetizer combo as my meal. I chose hummus (good), spicy labne (excellent) and shan-klich (cheese with spices - good). It came with some perfectly fine bread. There was not a lot of bread though (or it was kind of unclear whether the bread was for my meal or for the table so we were sharing it and we were not offered more). Basically the food the good, the atmosphere was nice and we weren't rushed out, and the service was indifferent but not unkind, but the server seemed depressed / unhappy / indifferent enough that it made me a bit uncomfortable. Oh and she didn't provide us separate checks so we had to sort it out at the table with cash which was kind of a drag. Fortunately most of us had cash but it was like "who had what?" and then trying to make sure we paid enough and rounded up enough to make a good tip. As is normal in these situations I add in an extra $10 or so, on top of my order and tip, to make sure there's enough. So it ended up being kind of expensive for an appetizer and a mocktail -- and most places will just give you separate checks these days. I can tell this place is a nice place with good food and I wish them well, but based on this experience I was not impressed.

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.

In Fresno, where the Armenian community reaches back almost to the city's beginnings, food like this carries a particular weight. Restaurants are places to eat, but they also keep a connection to kitchens and people you miss. The pleasant dining room and generous patio make a good first impression. So do prices that suggest you might come back on an ordinary Tuesday. The lulu kebab was good. The pilaf and bulgur alongside it were more puzzling: properly cooked, but almost entirely without flavor. The vermicelli in the pilaf hadn't been browned, missing the toasted quality that makes it worth adding in the first place. Whatever chicken stock might have been involved was keeping a low profile. Salt seemed to have missed dinner altogether. Perhaps remembering my grandmother's cooking set the bar a little high, but wanting another forkful of rice does not seem an unreasonable expectation. The staff were friendly when they appeared, although appearances were infrequent enough that a simple dinner stretched to two hours. A large patio is a lovely thing; ample time to contemplate its dimensions is less essential. There is plenty to like here, particularly a menu I was happy to see and a bill that comes in below many comparable places. But the rice needs the same attention as the kebab, and the tables could use a little more of it, too.
