This is literally some of the best food I have ever eaten. The folks greeted us immediately upon entering and got us seated. They were kind, accommodating and patient with us as we navigated the menu for a cuisine we had not tried before. A beautiful classical music was playing which created a nice atmosphere. We had the beef and herb stew with tah deeg rice, and an order of the chicken breast and lamb/beef kabob with tah deeg rice. It did not disappoint. Food came quickly. Everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We finished off with the pistachio and rose water ice cream. HOLY SMOKES. Insanely delicious. Easiest 5 star review. Everything from start to finish was superb. Already thinking about what to try next. Give this place a try!

We came a little late here one day after a long drive and the owner (I think he was the owner anyway) was soooo kind and let us sit down and eat. He chatted with us throughout and was so friendly. Not only was he kind but his food was excellent. We got the hummus, beef koobeedeh, and chicken breast kebab. Everything was delicious and aesthetic. The portions were also very generous. Highly recommend!

When you first enter the restaurant, you are greeted immediately with warm smiles. The restaurant itself isn't that large, perfect for a quiet evening either solo, couple or small party. I received a complimentary starter of cucumbers, tomato and feta. I haven't had this in years back in Orange County. I told the owner (I think he was the owner) that I haven't had authentic Persian (Iranian) food for years. I was torn between the Koobideh and the Ghaimeh. I opted for the Koobideh and was brought a small bowl of Ghaimeh anyway (so sweet)! Everything was delicious ... full of flavor. They do not serve alcohol but I was okay with that. The pita bread was hot and delicious. It's obvious they pride themselves on their dishes. The waiter was super friendly as well. He had me smiling with his hospitality during my whole visit.

It might be unfair to call it a restaurant. I'd prefer to begin saying that I went to a Persian friend's house and they treated me like family. For someone who spends two weeks each month on the road, a great meal and kind humans can make the distance bearable. It's a cozy place with an open kitchen. I was immediately greeted by the owner. After some thought, I chose the lamb kabob special. Boom, it was epic. Perfectly cooked and salad and saffron on the side. How wonderful we have it in this country to have others come and share their food and kindness. Epic!

Tah Deeg is a hidden gem. Some of the best Persian food that I have ever had, in an unsuspecting place. Who knew that Clovis California would host such an amazing restaurant? Not me. This place is worth visiting more than once. We ordered the platter for four people which fed everyone at our table and gave us enough leftovers for the next day. They didn't last longer than the next day, though, because they were delicious. The portion was generous, which was good news because none of us could stop eating. This is one of the few places where I have been able to enjoy authentic varieties of Persian rice. From fava beans and herbs to barberries And a beautiful tah deeg finish. The evening that we dined in person, three staff members had called out. The owner and a couple of chefs were holding down the fort on a busy Friday night. The thing that stood out to me is that, on a 110° day, people were willing to eat outside. Let that sink in. The food was good enough that people (not me... I came in a little bit earlier and got one of the last tables indoors) we're willing to eat outside on Fresno July day during a heat wave nonetheless. The food is just that good. If you do happen to stop by and eat some dinner, make sure to save room for dessert. They have a wonderful ice cream dish that they serve with a very nice cardamom, rose, and pistachio ice cream. Truthfully, the ice cream alone is worth visiting for. This is not the place for a cheap date, but you can get in and out with a party of two for under 100 bucks after tip and tax. Definitely worth a date night!

The food here was amazing, first time trying "Persian specific" food. All meats cooked perfect, the rice was different but I really enjoyed it and the veggies/salad was a perfect complement of flavors. There was enough leftovers for another meal for 2 people. The service was great and server was very attentive. Nice clean restaurant with good amount of seating. It's right next to the Sierra Vista movie theatre in Clovis if you're looking for lunch/dinner after the movies or shopping around the area. Highly recommend!

The best Persian food restaurant in all of Fresno. Come satisfy your appetite for middle eastern food with the juiciest, best seasoned beef and lamb skewers. Beef filet, and Cornish hens, four types of rice and a lamb shank. It says it's for four people but can easily feed six! So worth it and you get to try nearly everything on the menu. Great service. We love that they are open on a Sunday. Nice decor and low lighting, great for indoor or outdoor dining.

Ask the Community - Tah Deeg Persian Cuisine

Hi I am with a group of co-workers, where most are vegetarian. Are any of the koresh/stews vegetarian?

If memory serves, they do have vegetarian options. If you look on the menu tab on the yelp listing, they have pretty detailed descriptions... That might help as well. It's a great restaurant!

Just curious if you offer catering for private parties?

Who would love it if this place would do take out during this time to help keep this business open and running?

Yes, it will be a great idea.

    Do sell falafel?

I don't recall seeing it on the menu. Try looking at the menu on Yelp. :)

My husband said it felt like we were walking into someone's living room! The owner was really nice and offered us some recommendations. We ended up getting the lamb chop plate and the ground chicken & ground beef kabob. The food came out quickly and we were offered hot sauce and garlic sauce which of course we said yes to. My husband really enjoyed the lamb and rice. I don't usually like lamb, but it tasted juicy and not too gamy. The ground chicken kabob was well seasoned but I preferred the beef kabob. The kabobs were good, and we're really elevated more by the garlic sauce. Overall, the food was tasty and the ambiance a little odd (probably just because of the game). Overall, meal plus tip was a little over $50 for 1 meal and ala carte 2 kabob mix.

Everyone there seemed like they were being treated like family and like they eat there all the time. Aside from the above, which would easily be enough for a positive review here, there's even more. As I rushed out of the restaurant, I left my credit card. In my haste to be the 3-hour traffic back up to the Bay Area, I completely forgot until I got halfway back home, stopped for gas, and realized I couldn't pay for my gas with my card. I called them and luckily the same gal who was my server picked up and remembered me, confirmed she had my CC and told me to come back and get it. I told her I was back up in Oakland and asked a HUUUUUUGE Favor of them, to mail my CC back to me to save me the 6 hour round trip drive and ALL the headache I'd incur of getting a new card and having to redo all of the auto-pay set for countless bills with a new card number. The server was very kind and built a good rapport with our table. We ordered and it took quite long to get our food. We sat down around 5:40 and ordered shortly after, received the app at 6:07 and received our food at 6:40. The food was delicious and have no complaints there. The falafel was flavorful and the chicken shawarma was moist and delicious. One issue we had though, My friend saw a wax pepper on one of the plates and asked if she can have another one. The food runner came back and brought a side dish of peppers and a side dish of pickled beets. Our server then comes out and asks whose tab he should put that on. We were a little confused because they didn't mention it would he a charge and she only asked for 1 extra not an entire bowl + a bowl of something she didn't ask for. But she took the charge and it was about $5 combined for both, a charge that wasn't prefaced beforehand. Nonetheless, the food was amazing and our server was very sweet. The restaurant was packed so it's nice to see they are busy for a local business!
