    Chicken shawarma plate
    Lola H.

First of all, the lady at the register was so nice. The place looks brand new, so it was pretty empty furniture wise. There was a big empty space right in the middle of the restaurant. Also, I drink machine... that was the most disappointing thing. You have to pay for each drink, can or bottle of water. This is the reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars. The food was amazing though! The kibbeh had pomegranate in it. It's pretty different from how my family makes them. The chicken shawarma was delicious and flavorful. The fries were seasoned to perfection. The hummus, garlic sauce, and tzatziki sauce were all yummy. The only thing that could use an improvement is the salad dressing. Overall, it was an awesome meal. I would definitely return for more.

Nice clean dining area. Friendly service. Food quality, portions, and price very good. My favorite was the chicken on our plate, but the beef was nice and tender also. Not sure if they are a new business since we are from out of town, but I will revisit again when we return

    Spicy fried chicken wings

This place is really good. I want to go again and try something different off their menu. It is 100% zabiha too! I got their spicy fried wings and it was really spicy for my liking but the taste was still good and I ate it all! My husband loved the burgers too and wants to have it again. It has lots of room and booths to sit with family and friends. The service is good as well. 10/10 recommend

I wanted to give Aleppo Kabob a fair chance, but the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The first thing you notice is the smell. The space used to be a hookah lounge and it still smells like it. There was a strong hookah or marijuana odor throughout the dining area that hit us as soon as we walked in and lingered the entire time we were there. It made the dining environment uncomfortable right away. The pricing is reasonable, so I expected the food to make up for the rest. Unfortunately it didn't. We ordered a chicken shawarma plate and a beef shawarma plate. Both lacked flavor and seasoning. Shawarma normally has bold spices and a rich garlic presence, but here the meat tasted flat and the spices were barely noticeable. The beef shawarma was especially bad. The beef tasted off and had an unpleasant texture. After a few bites we stopped eating it and ended up throwing most of it away. The garlic sauce was also very poor. Instead of the strong, creamy garlic flavor you expect with shawarma, it tasted bland and strange. Compared with other Mediterranean restaurants nearby, especially Phoenician Garden, the difference in flavor and quality is very noticeable. The wait time was completely unacceptable. We were the first order of the day. The restaurant was empty when we walked in and we ordered two simple shawarma plates right away. We were told it would take about 15 minutes. Forty minutes later we were still waiting, and to make it worse another order was sent out ahead of ours. That should never happen when you are the first order placed. Two basic plates in an empty restaurant should not take nearly an hour to come out. Another odd detail is the menu and signage. For a Mediterranean restaurant, the windows prominently advertise multiple hamburgers and the menu also lists fried chicken. That combination makes the place feel less like a focused Mediterranean kitchen and more like a shared operation with the neighboring businesses. It raises questions about where the food is actually being prepared and how far it travels before reaching your table. Even the drink options were disappointing. There is no fountain drink option available, which feels strange for a sit down restaurant and adds to the overall lack of a proper dining setup. Prices are fair, but the lingering hookah smell, extremely slow service, poor quality beef, bland shawarma, bad garlic sauce, limited drink options, and confusing menu make it hard to recommend when there are much stronger Mediterranean options nearby.

6/18/25 Getting lunch! I called and ordered the chicken shawarma plate & a small order of falafel, a Fattoush salad on the side. Also, extra Garlic sauce. I called early and the worker was kind and said it would be ready in 15 min. About when they opened. Arrived to pick up. It's a big international market/grocery store. Lots of goods! Greeted by nice worker, let him know and order was brought out. He also had no problem getting me 2 Garlic sauce. It's right in the middle of the store. Everything looks GREAT! He bagged it for me and wished a good day! Appreciated! Lunch time! Plenty to split! Falafel was Really tasty! Chicken Shawarma is seasoned & tasted Great! Especially with the rice & hummus in the pita! All DELICIOUS! Salad was fresh and tasty! GREAT with the pita chips on it. Really GREAT Hummus too! Mother said hers was Really Great! She loved all of it! Lots of leftovers too! Great service & GREAT lunch! Highly recommended!

We had the chicken Shawarma plate and the chicken shish kebob plate. Both plates had an amazing flavor and everything tasted fresh. You would have to try it in order for you to understand those amazing flavors. It made me feel like I was having a meal somebody's house. Great customer service and they were always able to answer any questions regarding their product. The place it's clean and you can either eat there or take to go.

My friend recommended I try this place, and I'm so happy I did. The food was fresh, and had such good flavor. I finished my plate so quickly lol. My husband and I eat halal so it's nice to know this will be a place we can go out to eat. The inside is spacious and I love the history of Aleppo along the inside walls. Love little spots like these, congratulations on opening. Also the girl who helped me in the front was very sweet and helpful.

My husband and I actually started coming here because we received a gift certificate on our wedding day, so every visit has always been meaningful to us. Unfortunately, our most recent visit completely changed how I feel about this restaurant. Our waitress was Brenda (a middle-aged Caucasian woman with glasses). I want to be clear about who served us because my receipt also listed the name Brenda, and I would hate for another employee to receive this review by mistake. We were seated fairly quickly even though it was a very busy night and the restaurant was full. I want to say upfront that I completely respect how hard servers work, and I understand busy nights happen. However, after sitting for quite a while without anyone taking our order, I politely told Brenda that we were ready. I am diabetic and was not feeling well, so the wait was starting to affect me. Her response was, "Sorry, we're really busy tonight and there are only three of us waitressing." I understood that they might be short staffed, but at the very least she could have taken our drink order. Instead, she continued cleaning tables and serving other customers. I watched four different tables get seated after us and receive drinks, salads, and appetizers before we even placed our order. As someone who has been coming here for years, I have never felt so uncomfortable or overlooked in this restaurant. In 2026, no customer should feel that way anywhere. When our food finally came, everything arrived at once -- our hummus, salad, and entrée -- which made the experience feel rushed and poorly handled. When I asked Brenda for more napkins, she never returned to our table. We eventually had to go to the register ourselves to pay because she never brought our check. Before leaving, I explained to her how the situation made me feel. She responded with several explanations about being busy and short staffed, but that was never the real issue. The issue was the way we were treated. She forgot who we were all night but when it came to pay my tab, she definitely knew what table we were sitting at because her response was. I'll get your tab for table 3.. The food was amazing as it has always been, but sadly the service we received completely ruined the experience. After nearly nine years of coming here, this will unfortunately be my last visit.

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.
