Pre made/packed homemade pick me ups

I been passing by this place a couple times when I would visit next door and I finally gave it a try. They have their menu outside so you can even see the prices beforehand. Inside is a little market and they even have some produce. They carry alot of home made stuff in the fridges like hummus, garlic sauce, cabbage rolls just to name a few. I grabbed the spicy hummus with their pita chips. It was alright, not spicy to me. And I also got their chicken and beef plate. It came with rice pilaf, a salad, garlic sauce and pita bread. It was quite a wait but ik that's cus they was making it fresh. She did come out n apologized for the wait and lmk how much longer.. I finally got my food and tried it at home. The rice alone was good. Not dry or overcooked. The meat pieces were pretty big! Nice and tender. The garlic sauce complimented the meats well with the pita bread. The salad was refreshing but really was just okay since it was mainly cucumber and tomatoes.. I still ate everything up.

Amazing lunch options, unique and delicious market treats, and probably some of the tastiest European desserts Ive found in a bodega. My wife and I were looking for Mediterranean food and Arrat Market popped up. While I don't think this place is a true Mediterranean restaurant they do offer delicious Mediterranean focused plates. We ordered two Chicken kebab plates with a side dzadziki (yogurt sauce) and extra pita. The food was amazing. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor and the rice was a perfect mix of al dente yet not try. Dzadziki, which I've never seen it spelled like that, was super fresh and the crispy cucumber added a nice crunch. Definitely a revisit dinner spot and they take phone orders! While we waited for our food we shopped around. This place is small, but they have so much good stuff here. Tons of international spices, candies, and jarred items. We left with some spices, a bag of cinnamon cookies, and lots of sweets for the kiddos. Can't wait to head back here and sample more of their menu and get a few more sweet treats!

Great customer service at this mom and pop shop! First time here, and will be back. I order the chicken and beef combo plate. It was about 10-15 min wait but the meat was so tender and juicy - not dry or rushed through the cooking process which I appreciate! The salad was nothing special, garlic sauce was well balanced!

Extremely poor customer service by woman at front register. 2pm on 5/2/2025 My husband and I came in to see what the market had to offer the community because we had been drawn in by the amazing marketing on the windows while in the area. Once we entered, Staff did not acknowledge us at all like most small businesses. When I asked her a question she stared at me until I was finished speaking. Instead of answering the question, she began to speak with a customer. The customer did not respond to the staff initially, which led to her answering my question. I would like to clarify that the customer was not an employee and attempted to respond to my inquiry. I'm unsure if there was a communication barrier but this is America, respectfully, and we primarily speak English. Please have someone who speaks English work here and/or if she does speak English, she can use some customer service training. Thank you, I do wish your business the best.

My family and I needed large portions for a funeral but we wanted delicious filling food. I called Ararat Market two days before the funeral and they were able to fulfill an cratering order of 50 people. The lady who helped me over the phone was so sweet! She helped me narrow it down of chicken (forgot to take pictures) but it came in two big trays , rice pilaf , pita and dipping sauce. I needed it by 8:45am but they said the earliest they can do it is 9:30am and was able to negotiate 9:15am as the funeral was at 10am . I showed up with my sister they had everything done by 9am! Very impressed. I came in and they put everything in the car! I wish I could have tipped them but there was no tipped option when I called it in and paid two days before the day of pick up. Anywho, the chicken was so flavorful and the rice was mouthwatering delicious! It was a hit at the funeral and there was nothing left so that speaks volumes! We are overjoyed with the service from start to finish and would definitely order catering from them again. I wish they delivered as we were 30 min late to the funeral. Other than that I cannot thank Ararat Market for coming through for my family on one the hardest days! Definitely recommend for lunch, dinner and events!

Generous portions for a low cost. And better tasting compared to a place like Ark. This is now my new favorite spot for Mediterranean food.

Everyone there seemed like they were being treated like family and like they eat there all the time. Aside from the above, which would easily be enough for a positive review here, there's even more. As I rushed out of the restaurant, I left my credit card. In my haste to be the 3-hour traffic back up to the Bay Area, I completely forgot until I got halfway back home, stopped for gas, and realized I couldn't pay for my gas with my card. I called them and luckily the same gal who was my server picked up and remembered me, confirmed she had my CC and told me to come back and get it. I told her I was back up in Oakland and asked a HUUUUUUGE Favor of them, to mail my CC back to me to save me the 6 hour round trip drive and ALL the headache I'd incur of getting a new card and having to redo all of the auto-pay set for countless bills with a new card number. Guess what? They did it! They took time from their busy lives, put a customer's needs first and saw past my human error and so generously sent my card to my home. Good Mediterranean food usually hits the spot, but Tofas fell short. The issues started right at the register. The total price I was charged did not seem to align with the prices listed on the menu board. After double-checking, prices were different than I had been charged. After we sat down, the kitchen took a bit to prepare the order. When the food finally arrived, the quality was disappointing. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich. While the bread was decent, it only contained a few slices of tri-tip that were completely dried out. It was definitely not worth the price. Two of my family members ordered steak salads, and they had a similar experience. The meat tasted cheap and flavorless to the point where my family members stopped eating and left their meal unfinished. The restaurant itself was clean, and the service was okay even if the staff was not particularly attentive. However, between the pricing and poor food quality, the overall experience felt disorganized and lacking. Probably one of the worst Mediterranean spots i've tried in Fresno.

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.
