Better than Amritsar!…read more Coming from Los Angeles, we weren't sure where to pick given the many Desi options, but this restaurant was an incredible find. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome by Sandeep Kaur. It was inspiring to see an all-female team running the show with such dedication. The food was beyond authentic. We ordered the Amritsari Kulcha, Tadka Dal, and rice, and every bite was remarkably fresh. The Kulcha was the star of the show--presented sizzler-style under hot tava with fumes still rising. Honestly, it tasted even better than the kulchas we had in Amritsar last year! The Tadka Dal and yellow rice were the perfect, delicious compliments to the meal. We desperately need a North Indian spot of this caliber in SoCal. We're already wishing they'd open a branch in the LA area. Thank you Sandeep kaur for your hospitality and the service.

Second visit here and food was great as before. This time we ordered Samosa Chaat and Hakka Noodles…read morethat came as the first course. Both were a little more on the spicier side than expected. I prefer the regular samosa over samosa chaat. I was missing the crispiness of it. Hakka noodles ended up being too spicy to our niece so we ordered a second one with just the tomato base which was still delicious. Since there was only one server for all the tables and pick ups, it took awhile to get our food. We had plain Roti (1 per order), Butter Naan (4 per order), Shahi Paneer, and Paneer Tikki Masala. Again both of the dishes were flavorful and creamy and had a kick of spiciness. Unlike other Indian places I've been to they do not ask you what level of spice you would like. Roti and rice were nice but I would not order the Butter Naan again. You cannot taste the butter even though it was glossy. Their food were delicious! Hopefully they get more severs for days where it's busy.

Everyone was so welcoming from the get go. The best part about this restaurant was that they accommodate Jain restrictions and other allergies with almost everything on their menu. The owner himself is Jain and a very great host. Everyone came and checked on us and our time here was just amazing. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Their bread pakora reminded me of my childhood in Mumbai. Everything here is made to order and the taste was really fresh. Our entire order was Jain friendly but tasted exactly it would taste if it wasn't Jain. I definitely recommend gajar halwa and kulfi, the combo when I mixed it was really delicious. I can probably go on and on about the taste and service but even the restaurant was very clean especially for an Indian place and the ambiance was very nice too. I will definitely revisit the place whenever I'm in Fresno or passing by it.

Each table and seating is pre-set with plates, water bottles, and a menu on the table. When we arrived, we were the only customers. We ordered the butter chicken, which comes with a side of rice, garlic naan, chicken lollipop, which is 4 pieces of drumette, mango juice, and pineapple juice. The butter chicken was great, rice and garlic naan was perfect. The juices surprisingly appeared to taste freshly squeezed and delicious, if that may be the actual case. --While eating, we noticed one of the chicken lollipops was not cooked all the way through and was still raw in the middle. We checked another chicken lollipop and noticed it was also raw in the middle. We notified the waitress and they were able to replace the order with a new one. -- Overall, the food was great. 4 My experience with the service, however, was perhaps a 3, not as good as expected due to minor language barrier while ordering, trying to resolve the semi-raw chicken issue, and when asking for a to-go container for my unfinished butter chicken. We were goven a small 8oz container upon request for a to-go container that did not fit the leftover butter chicken... due to the miscommunication. There was another miscommunication during the experience where the receipt given to us looked like a kitchen/prep ticket, which did not show the total paid amount per items ordered. We asked the waitress/server again for a copy of my receipt that showed the total paid. They did not understand and insisted it was the receipt. It wasn't until the owner came and walked the waitress through printing out my receipt for us. Overall we give it a 3.5. We tipped 15%, as the food was fresh and enjoyable and delicious despite the chicken situation, and the service was okay. The table preparation, the waitress and the owners fine attempt to work things out via communication, to us, shows the restaurant is a fairly quality spot... but the overall experience did not meet our minimal desired experience, so we may not be as firm on returning.

The standout for us was definitely the chole bhature--perfectly spiced, rich, and paired with soft, fluffy bhature that just melted in your mouth. The nutri kulcha was another highlight, packed with flavor and cooked just right. To top it off, the masala soda was refreshingly tangy and a great complement to the meal. And don't miss the fish pakore--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Overall, Chatore delivers a fantastic dining experience with truly delicious food. First time I've ever ran to Yelp to review!…read more First point and most important... WHY is everyone talking about the prices? Not only is this on par for Indian food. It's a lot more affordable than other restaurants. $5 for three Samosas? That's a killer appetizer for cheap! And they're good--some places put way too much seasoning on the outside. The menu: A lot more variety, and compared to other Indian restaurants the menu is easy to navigate and very Anglicized for newcomers to Indian food. The food: I accidentally ordered the wrong sandwich(I had seen the tikka roll on Yelps ig) and I got the tandoori sandwich but I am not complaining that was amazing and I didn't even know it came with fries. Butter chicken was medium and it was perfectly creamy, slightly spicy, soooo much sauce which is perfect because I dipped my sandwich AND samosas in there. I am so stuffed and I have food left for days(which is great bc if I love anything more than Indians food it's cold Indian leftover straight from the fridge) The service was great, young girl at the front was so sweet and helpful when I said it was my first time. Worth spending my money here at a family owned restaurant that serves up awesome food in a clean and open space--a must try!
