We Door Dashed food from the Red Onion. We hadn't heard of it before, but it had good reviews and reasonable prices. I got the Philly cheesesteak, which was very meaty and delicious. My meal came with fries and a drink. I also ordered some fried mushrooms, which were very good, just a tad bit greasy and very rich. I couldn't eat them all. My daughter got a chicken salad which was very nice, and my husband ordered the bbq bacon western burger, which he said was, "Really GOOD!" So thank you to Red Onion for the great homestyle food. The burgers were okay, cooked a little long for our liking. There was some sort of burger sauce on it but I couldn't really taste it. The ranch that came with our jalapeño poppers tasted a little diluted. They put a lot of ice in your soda too and the first refill was free but they wanted $1 for another. read more

He thought the burger was really good which is shocking because I consider him a picky eater. I had no issues with the customer service but we didn't require much attention. Our food was served fresh and in a timely manner. We visited the Red Onion on a very hot day it was over 100 degrees but felt like 70 degrees inside the Red Onion which definitely made the food more enjoyable. Multiple locations on the upper walls had only wire and brackets where TVs had obviously been previously, giving it an uncomfortable burglarized vibe. The worker was indifferent and had no explanation. We ordered 2 burger combos. Service was also indifferent; no suggestions were offered & no "thank you" expressed. Been wanting to try this place. Masks worn by some workers. The worker was nice. I came to try their grilled chicken wrap, but she said they do not have that right now. I ended up ordering a grilled chicken sandwich with American cheese and jalapeños added to it. Paid for the order and waited for it to be ready. Luckily, a very welcoming worker introduced himself and let me know they are under new owners and within the the next month they will be making lots of changes, restaurant renovations and even a drive-thru! He was very excited about it! It's clean and safe inside. Practiced as well with an antibacterial soap station. I waited a while for the order, but they had just opened. The order was ready a while later and the worker smiled, handed over the order, said good day wishes and that they will have the wraps back soon! =) Lunchtime! I've tried many old fashion burger joints. And I find myself coming back to Red Onion. I first tried them out months back; I had a craving for a pineapple milkshake but Fosters was closed. That's when yelp came in! Decided to come here and not gonna lie! It's sketchy around these parts. No drive thru either so you have to park ,get off and walk around to the entrance. It is what it is. Although, I do not like coming here at night by myself. Now, the pineapple milkshake was seriously the best! So much better than that other place I would go to. Tastes fresh and homemade! My friend ordered a banana split and let me sample it ... wish I didn't. It was like heaven... Since then, I have been ordering actual food. I love the jalapeño poppers! They're not spicy just so,crunchy and flavorful. The fries are always perfect- I have not received a bad tasting ,old batch. Burgers are delicious old fashioned style. So when I found Jacks Red Onion I fell in love. Lol. Their burgers are on point and the price is perfect. I've almost tried everything on the menu with no complaints. In fast food establishments across the land there is a right way and a wrong way to greet and interact with a customer I felt this establishment could use a crash course on proper greetings. The food is mediocre it is made to order our food came out hot and fresh. My daughter got chicken strips and fries while my son got the shrimp basket. The shrimp to me tastes a bit fishy meaning the shrimp where a lil old in my opinion my daughter agreed my son chowed down though. I was pleasantly surprised by the food which definitely superseded my expectations off top! I had a cheeseburger & fries with mozzarella sticks. Yea, the meal was very satisfying. Definitely a hole in the wall burger joint but I found them to be pretty efficient. My visit was during the lunch rush and I didn't have to wait very long for my order! That said, good food and reasonable prices are all you get- this place is the definition of no frills. When I told her my order was wrong she said "That's not what I heard" and was shaking her head at me while I was explaining I had even specifically ordered a water- why would it make sense for me to get a combo? They offer a variety of other foods too. 3/5 for the building itself. It get very loud in there, when it's busy. I loved this place pre covid because their food was fabulous and they offered fried okra that was like my grandmother's. However, after more than a year of delivery I've had to let them go. My deliveries seldom arrived with all 3 of the items I ordered. It wasn't rocket science. I almost always ordered the Ortega burger, fries and okra. Once, all I got was the okra! Well i tend to call in orders so that other guests including myself dont have to wait. But todays visit was a little annoying. I called in, phone was answered. Was placed on hold. I was able to drive all the way to the red onion on belmont and fwy 99 amd witness not only that i was still on hold but the young lady behind the counter help 4 more guests. I was #5 and i instantly showed her my phone and said "do i still jold, you forgot about me". Her response..... O shit. May b a appology is in order. I dont knock the busy restaurant at all.
