My husband and I really enjoy coming here for breakfast. The muffins are good, the lattes are great, and we really want to love this place. Unfortunately, the food has been disappointing several times. One time I ordered the French toast, which was advertised as coming with fresh strawberries. I even asked beforehand if the strawberries were fresh and was told yes, but when my food arrived, they were the strawberries in syrup rather than fresh strawberries. On another visit, I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict and had to send it back because my poached eggs were cooked almost like hard-boiled eggs. My husband's eggs were overcooked as well, but he didn't want to complain. We decided to give the food another try today. Unfortunately, my husband's poached eggs were overcooked again. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast, and the salmon had a very strong, unpleasant smell. The fruit that came with it also didn't seem fresh. The potatoes had a lot of onions and peppers mixed in, which my husband didn't care for and would have preferred without onions. The portions are also pretty small for the prices. We keep coming back because we genuinely enjoy the atmosphere, coffee, and baked goods, and we're really trying to give the food a chance. I just wish the quality and consistency of the meals matched everything else because this could easily be one of our favorite breakfast spots. read more

This restaurant is so warm and welcoming. We came for dessert and the beignets we absolutely perfect. Crunchy outside with a sweet soft inside. I've been here several times, all times have been great! It's one of my go-tos when I can't decide what to eat around Riverpark for a reasonable price. They have all day breakfast, brunch, and dinner. All great menu choices ! I love their mimosas and their espresso martinis as well. Tonight, my gal friends and I decided to eat here and we ordered tomato bisque with five cheese grilled cheese, chicken tenders, fries, and a creamy chicken tuscan pasta. They were all so delicious, especially their tomato bisque. Their fries were crispy as well. Our fantastic server, Crystal, gave us a second plate of fries incase the first fries weren't fresh enough. We couldn't tell that they were a bit older, they were all crispy and yummy. The ambiance is very French cafe with a hint of New Orleans. Their menu suits their setting! They have a delicious selection of bakery delights as well as desserts. The Dr Peppers were crisp, although my Coke was a bit flat. It wasn't as busy when we dined, it was about an hour before closing. We were probably one of the last ones to leave and I'm so glad we weren't rushed either. All of their hardworking staff stayed productive and on their feet. Our awesome server, Crystal, was super attentive, ensuring all of our needs were met. She came frequently to check in on us which we appreciated. We scheduled a reservation within a (perfect amount of time to drive and park) 15-minute period for Valentine's Day via OpenTable. After checking in with the host, we waited 5 minutes for our booth request. Well decorated, both inside and outside, for the holiday, the special occasion offered a 3-course Valentine meal Feb 13-16. We opted for two of their regular 3-course meals, French Pot Roast and Grilled Atlantic Salmon, each with a starter and dessert. The kids ordered from their menu which are also 3-course meals! First off, how about having enough service staff to do the job?! One waiter was talking care of the whole area, trying to take care of at least 12 tables by himself. Service was slow because of it. My husband ordered the chicken cordon bleu. It was so overcooked you could barely cut it & wasn't edible. By the time our waiter got back to us with apologies & had another order made. I have been here for breakfast only. When I came for lunch the table ordered the French pot roast and a pasta chicken bacon dish. We had an appetizer of the deep friend croquettes. The chicken pasta dish was okay, had a lot of bacon and the sauce had a tangy taste to it. The person ordering it liked it. The French pot roast had a strange smell to it. Not many beef roast pieces. There was a dollop of mash potatoes I used to try to cut the taste of the soupy stew that surrounded them. The carrots were undercooked, and looked unappetizing. Too much salt and a strange taste. I didn't finish this dish. The croquettes were good, they were a deep fried mashed potato ball wrapped around a tiny piece of birria meat. It came with a birria dipping sauce that didn't remind me of birria flavor. All in all I should have stuck with the muffins they are really good there and the waffles are a definite great choice. I have been debating whether to post this review. I believe I need to let potential customers know what to expect. Once been going to Mimi's for many years. I love it there. The friendly staff, the food , the ambience. However, about a year ago or so the quality of the breakfast food changed. We shared our dismay with the manager because we lived it there and wanted to come back I normally get the quiche Lorraine and my husband gets the.chicken and waffles. The quiche arrived overcooked and the potatoes were different. They were smaller like frozen hash browns little nuggets and it was not delicious like normal. My husbands chicken was dry and potatoes were like mine. Very disappointing from our normal experience. The manager shared sometimes there is a different supplier of the product r and assured us it would remain the way it was before. Ok I never did a review I understand things happen. We went back a month or so later and got the same disappointment. This time we simply did not return. I do go to breakfast with my girlfriends once a month and we live Mimi's as a get together place. Mimosas and breakfast. Yesterday my quiche was overcooked dry and salty, my potatoes were small cubes not like photo on menu. My girlfriend and I were asked if we wanted bell peppers and onions asses to the potatoes we both said yes. There was never a mention of en extra charge. It was an extra 2.50 each. If it was good maybe but it was not. I am so sad to report this. I think the staff is great there and I will miss it. However 125.00 we should have had a better experience. That was 2 mimosas . 2 quiche Lorraine with extra bell peppers and onion and one regular egg and bacon breakfast and two bloody Mary's for the birthday girl. Service is always great! This is our go to brunch spot with group of friends or just my hubby and I. We really enjoy the variety of lattes that they offer. The mimosa flights are fun. There were 7 of us in our group and our food came out at different times. Some of us were eating while others watched and waited on their food. I was already done eating, and the second half of my party finally got their food and I had to ask for my biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were dense and dry as you can see from the photo. We sent those back and the waitress removed that from our check and sent us home with some muffins as a kind gesture. Even the muffins didn't look or taste like they did back in the day. This place is a solid 3.5 for us. Being from the deep south, it reminds us of Bob Evans. The ambience is cute, but both times we have gone the service has been slow, but the people great when you can get them to your table. What do I mean by that? Both times we ate here we entered to an empty front bakery pick up area and there was no one there to seat us. I had to look for someone the second time. Same with our waitstaff... you have to look around for time, but once they're at your table, they're extremely helpful. Overworked? Perhaps. I don't know what their duties are in the back of the house. The menus are also a little weird. My husband is a breakfast eater. He would eat breakfast for every meal if it was offered. On our first trip he had a question about a meal and was told that each item on the menu is under a subheading and everything under it came with what was listed. All "Grand Breakfast" meals are "Served with two eggs any style and your choice of pork sausage, turkey sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, hickory-smoked ham, or fresh fruit. Substitute your protein choice with slow-cooked corned beef hash for $2.69." On our second trip he ordered the Monte Cristo French toast only to find out that it's not considered a "grand breakfast" and doesn't come with anything extra. You want eggs? They're going to charge you. You want bacon or sausage? Extra charge. The Manager at this location admitted that there were several things wrong with the menu, several food items under the wrong subheading... but that corporate determines the menu not the location. So my honest advice is to ask questions about each meal, don't trust the subheading it's under. Because this honestly felt a little bit like a money grab by corporate. The food is good, but again, the service is really slow. You are not going to go in there, get seated, order, and eat in half an hour. You're just not. But it's definitely a good place to go, sit, have a nice slow meal, read a book or Bring your parents or grandparents and sit and talk. read more
