So I wish I could give a 5 star because the food was good. However, I don't know if my server was having a bad day or what. She just didn't seem to want to be there and we felt like an inconvenience when our order was being taken. And when my father wanted to change something on his order, literally a moment after it was place. The waiter said, and this is verbatim... "It has been three minutes since he placed his order, it's too late." I simply smiled and said ok. Because what....?!?! And to make matters worse... she walked to the counter, stood there for a second. Only to come back and say, "yeah, there's making your stuff now, you can't change it"..... again... what!?! Either way, food was good. Everyone else in the restaurant was lovely, I'd like to assume our waiter may have just been having a bad day. It's a shame that the service and food of the Clovis restaurant is mediocre compared to the Fresno restaurant. I love the Fresno place. The server at Clovis was uninterested when my food wasn't as I expected. I couldn't eat it. It was over seasoned and over cooked. After telling the server I was disappointed she took my dish and proceeded to talk to another server about me and my comment. I'm shocked that there was not even a comment of, "I'm sorry". This has to be one of my favorite diners/breakfast spots in town! The food is cooked to order, fresh, and delicious, the portions are also huge! The service is top tier with several staff greeting you. Our server was super friendly and checked in on us throughout our meal. The food came quick. They also serve freshly squeeze oranges as orange juice which was delicious! I ordered the country fried steak and their sausage gravy was the BEST gravy I've tried at a restaurant. My partner ordered the tri tip egg omelet skillet which he really enjoyed. The potatoes that came with his skillet was to die for! It was seasoned perfectly and will definitely be an item I order next time. Overall, I highly recommend this place and this place will be in regular rotation when I want to eat out for breakfast. She didn't think it was going to be good and she loved it. She said it was even a little spicy which she loved. This place is amazing! My brother always comes to this location when he comes in from the Bay Area. We went in during the middle of the week with our mother and the service was top notch. He had the chocolate chip pancakes. I had a burrito and my mom had one of the Sr menus. All of the food was cooked to perfection and the staff was on top of everything. Our coffee never got cold and our water was always full. The place is kind of cozy and they do have booths and a lot of chairs. You have to get there early on the weekends cause they get packed and the weight can be up to an hour. The food is good and the service is great. We will keep coming back. read more

Pancakes at a baseball-themed restaurant. What more can I say. ;-). Little place hard in the corner of a shopping center with obvious locals. Just the kind of place that has the best food, anywhere. Had two of their giant pancakes and they were hot, fluffy syrup vacuum's. Delicious. Bacon here is chewy & I prefer it to be crisp. This is a very busy restaurant on Saturday mornings. The service was good and it was relatively clean. It does get noisy, which makes it hard to carry on a conversation. The food was okay, not great very basic but carried a very high price tag. I ordered a side order of French toast which was just two pieces of bread cut into 4 triangles, 2 soft scrambled eggs and an ice tea to drink. The price with tip was 25! That's insane. I could make that at home for a couple of dollars. I get paying a premium at a restaurant but this mark up felt excessive for what I received. I ordered online today knowing it would be busy, and since I only ordered two items, I didn't expect a long wait. When I arrived and checked in, the hostess told me the kitchen was still working on my order, which was totally fine. But I ended up waiting outside for 30-40 minutes with no update. I finally went back inside and waited another 10 minutes. At that point, I checked in again. As soon as I gave my name, the hostess said they had been calling for me--which was incredibly frustrating, because it was obvious she hadn't finished the "order complete" step and simply forgot. Meanwhile, I had been standing right by the door the entire time. After all of that, my food was cold. I tried to be understanding because they were busy, but the customer service was honestly terrible and the situation was made worse by the staff member brushing it off. This experience was a joke. Arrived around 9 a.m. on a Thursday and no problem getting seated right away. Service was prompt and friendly. I hadn't tried their cinnamon roll pancake before that I've heard a lot about so my friend and I ordered one of those and a fruit and yogurt granola bowl to share. The pancake did indeed taste like a cinnamon roll with a glaze on top with crispy edges. Flavor was good albeit a little sweet with all the glaze. No syrup needed here! The fruit and granola bowl was a good mix of fruit, but just an average bowl. I don't really care for the coffee either which is a bummer. Tables and restaurant were clean. I took my son to the Clovis location during the week. We were able to pick where we wanted to sit because there was no wait or crowd. We were serviced quickly and the food came out fast. Everything was delicious and the serving sizes were huge. Both my son and I ended up having to take our food home because we couldn't finish the portions that were served. There is this popular couple on IG where the guy keeps snitching on his wife to his MIL that his wife won't make him Chilaquiles so the MIL gets bad at her daughter and makes it for him. I didn't know what Chilaquiles were. Yes I know. I don't know how I didn't know what they were either. I grew up with burritos and nachos in the Bay Area. My Fiance tells me that they have really good Chilaquiles at Batter Up. I was like "that pancake place?" And she said "yeah it's really good". Aight bet get in the car lol So we get here and the staff is nice and it's not too busy. So I order the Chilaquiles and yooooooooo I get why that guy be snitchin on his wife for the entire world see. It was really good. The chips were crunchy and tossed in this sauce that hit a spot I didn't know I had. Then it dawned on me that it's like breakfast nachos. I know I know. Please be kind. Batter Up Pancakes is a well-known and recognized brunch spot. My family from Japan were visiting so we wanted to take them to a classic American spot that could accommodate a large group. Our party of 14 left stuffed and content! We arrived on a weekday around 9:30am. Already, it was busy with customers. So despite the day or time know there might be a wait! Since we had a larger party, we had to wait for quite some time but the staff was great. They were efficient, kind, and checked on us. We appreciate all of their help. Our family all ordered their plates. Most of them enjoyed The Hawaiian Pancake which was sweet, nutty, and fruity. For myself, I got the Wild Pitch, No Cheese. I requested it as a scramble but they gave me an omelette. I found it to be well-filled with toppings but on the blander end. I chose Hashbrowns as my side which was mostly just crispy and thin no softness to it. It was good but I'd say get their pancakes instead. Batter Up Pancakes is a beloved spot in Fresno. This place showed up on yelp when I was searching for breakfast options the other morning, and the pictures and reviews looks good so I figured I would give it a try! I really enjoyed the interior, definitely gives a sporty diner vibe. It smelled really good walking in those doors, and it was very warm and welcoming. The menu had a good variety of options, I had the veggie scramble with egg whites, and my friend had these gigantic pancakes. He thoroughly enjoyed his pancakes, and I liked my veggie scramble. The veg themselves could've been cooked, just a tad longer, but overall it was really good. I also really liked that it came with a side of cottage cheese, it's been a while since I've seen cottage cheese served in a restaurant and it made me really appreciate that aspect. If you enjoy coffee, they do make a pretty good cup of coffee. I had the hazelnut creamer and wasn't expecting much, but that creamer brought the coffee over the edge in a fantastic way, I definitely recommend getting creamer with your coffee. The issue I have is the staff will say you cannot sit somewhere it's reserved. Why didn't you say that. Then a few minutes later a random customer comes in. They say sit wherever and they are allowed to sit there. It makes you feel awkward. Also the tables are way too close to each other. Barely any room to exit and use the restroom if needed. It's really small inside so now I understand how it could get busy. We just ordered a kid breakfast with a pancake with strawberries and a side of bacon. Even the bacon was sad. Greasy and floppy - underdone. They weren't even busy. The orange juice display is cool and pretty good. Odd thing is I have had their chilaquiles at the other location on Cedar and it was phenomenal. Not as authentic as a Mexican restaurant but still delicious. I will warn they are on the spicy side. The pancakes at Cedar is what made me go back to try it for myself. The food was just night and day between the two locations. I noticed not many large groups; I don't think they can easily accommodate that as having open tables next to each other is nearly impossible with the amount of people going in and out. We got our drinks immediately from the host. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Ordered an omelet and some chilaquiles. My husband asked for no cilantro and no onion. I think they must have forgotten because I got my order but it took a bit with his. We think they had to remake it. There was still a fews pieces of cilantro in his meal but my husband didn't want to say anything. He loved the chilaquiles. I tried it and I think it's a bit too spicy. My omelet and hash browns were fine. Hash definitely needed more salt and pepper. Omelet was good and filled with ingredients. This breakfast can be pricey for some. It was around $60. Two meals and two drinks (coffee and orange juice). Probably not something you should be doing every day but all in all a good breakfast. We arrived during a pretty busy Friday morning and were put on the waitlist with a 30 minutes estimated wait time, however we were sat within 15 minutes! Once we sat down, I noticed that the ceiling had a bunch of stuffed animals hanging down from it and I thought it was so funny and cute lol!
