We came here on a weekend morning at 8 am. It is the only time I would come because by 9 am, the place was full and there were around 4-5 parties waiting to be seated. We didn't get coffee until we asked for it, though refills are free. My friend got to the chorizo scramble, hash browns, and a cheesecake pancake. I got the bacon and eggs plate with hash browns and a cinnamon roll pancake. Each of our plates with the drink and upgraded pancake came out to $30 or so. This makes this place one of the pricier brunch spots. Additionally, since it gets so busy, the service can be slow. We sat outside, which I'm glad we did, but the interior seating looked pretty cramped with no booths that I could tell. The vibe there was definitely casual. I think the Fresno location looks a little more like a diner. Due to the prices and the long waits, I don't come here often but their special pancakes are pretty good. read more

I was hesitant about the wait since we had my niece but the dude was adamant that it would move quick. It took about 65 minutes. So I was right. Should have left and gone to Sandy's. We were seated and we got right to it since we had to wait for a long time. The dude got a P!nk Arnold Palmer. I ended up getting water and the niece got chocolate milk. We put in our drink order and was set to go! Staff was very friendly and nice. On the menu I ordered the chilaquiles which included avocado according to the menu (see pictures) which I don't like which I asked for it on the side. They ended up charging me for it , $1.99. I brought it up to the waitress and she informed me its not the menu and I pointed it out to her. PROOF!! There was no "let's take it off your tab" but rushing us. Saying it shouldn't be on the menu and she will let management know to take off the menu. Hmmmm sure. Highly disappointed on that . If I would have know it didn't come with it I would have never asked for it on the side. Disappointed on customer service. The dude wanted to leave a $10 tip but since they charged us unnecessary for something listed on THEIR menu without addressing it right ....that $1.99 is their tip. But my chilaquiles were good DEF too spicy. Even the dude agreed. I can't eat spicy food. So I was disappointed with that too. It was good though. Man if they notched the spice down it would be a solid dish. The niece liked her chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate milk so she enjoyed her meal. The dude was disappointed with his meal as he thought it came in omelette form. But it didn't . You can tell a lot by a place based off how good their biscuits and gravy are. The biscuits tasted stale and gravy tasted fake :( so gross. I had better at the Best Western. We were over it. It was surprising to see how low the salt shakers were. Not a good sign and they just opened but hey...I guess that's a good thing as the customer controls the salt intake not them! So if we make it salty it's not their fault. PANCAKE PERFECTION! Super fluffy, airy light, and humongous! The top and bottom are completely golden brown. Made from scratch the old-fashioned way with buttermilk. There is a blue cornmeal option as well. Speaking of perfect, the linguica - a spicy, garlicky Portuguese sausage pairs perfectly with eggs and potatoes or any of the breakfast starches. It is so juicy, zesty, and delicious. You will not always find it on the menu at many breakfast diners, but I will take it over bacon or sausage anytime as the meat of choice to accompany any egg dish. While there are many mouth-watering choices with pancakes - including apple cinnamon chip crunch, the Oreo, the Nina with chocolate chips, the S'more, and even a cheesecake version just to name a few, I prefer mine plain and simple except maybe on that rare occasion I want them with some blueberries and/or strawberries and whipped cream on top. This is also an option here. The Denver Omelet - with diced ham, green peppers, and onions - is another winner. The egg texture was bright yellow and smooth, and very fluffy. Batter Up Pancakes seem to take great pride in the quality and quantity of their dishes - whether it is the pancakes, the French toast, omelets, or breakfast burritos. You see a lot of dine-in guests request to go boxes before departing. I will always have leftovers when I dine here because of the heartiness of the dishes. The original location off of Cedar Avenue (and E. Ness Avenue) is a Fresno treasure and is widely known for serving the best pancakes in town. So, I was delighted to find out that a new location opened up here in Clovis just over a month ago. I hear their lunch menu is just as impressive. I have eaten here many times because I love the food and especially the pesto omelet with mushrooms, spinach and avocado (The Cristina). I actually crave that omelet because it's so good. Well, there was hardly any pesto and veto little flavor whatsoever. I forced myself to eat it because I was hungry and on a time crunch. My son ordered a chocolate chip pancake as his one side. First off, the server didn't bother to mention that they add an extra cost for the chocolate chips. Secondly, when the pancake arrived, it looked like a regular pancake. There were no visible chips. So he lifted it up and lo and behold, all the chocolate chips were on the bottom side, melting onto the plate! I don't know who was cooking today, but the food was not up to par! As far as ambience goes, it is typically a loud place and there's usually a lot going on. The cinnamon roll pancake is my absolute favorite. To be quite honest, all of the pancakes I've ever had here have been amazing even their original. The pancakes are fluffy and huge! I could never finish a single one on my own, and always have to share. Also, they have a couple of healthy items on their menu, which include a gluten and dairy free pancake, which is also amazing. Everything is always seasoned very well and most importantly comes in a huge portion which makes it a good bang for your buck.
