Great experience from the get go. Seated right away followed by coffee shortly after. Menu is intimidating, though the server was patient with us. I'll be honest--I was a bit skeptical at first. The prices seem steep for what you think you're getting. But then when your food arrives and you see how large the portions are, all feels right in the world. My husband and I were able to share an entree (chile verde omelette) and because we couldn't come to a pancake place and not get pancakes, we got a pancake as one of our sides. We were so pleasantly surprised to find our respective portions of the omelette both packed full of meat. 2/25/23....getting breakfast for tomorrow! New, new, new! Packed too! The phones were not working. I went in and luckily, workers were very nice. I let them know about their phones not working. I asked if I could pay extra and have the apple cinnamon crunch pancake and that wasn't a problem. One more side and I picked hash browns. Paid for the order. The worker said it would be ready in 15 min and wished me a good day. Waited outside in the car since it was so packed inside. Nice restaurant inside. Baseball field mural on the wall and the Batter Up Pancakes Logo in many areas. I went back in to pick it and it was ready. There was only one container and it didn't seem right with pancakes ordered too. Checked and it was only the omelette and hash browns that looked really delicious! This place is so good! We popped in for a late breakfast on a Monday afternoon. The staff was welcoming and full of energy. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, plus a pancake and a side order of bacon. The portions are huge! We literally each had enough food for two sandwiches, which is great to know so that next time we can just place one order and have two sandwiches. The sausage was cut up into small pieces and scrambled into the egg - I was pleasantly surprised at that. I can't wait to try that sandwich with bacon. There was a steady flow of customers, which is always a good sign. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the wait for our food was a little longer than we hoped. Tried to go back after a couple years of avoiding the crowds on Sunday mornings. Got on the waitlist when we walked in. Were told 15 min wait. Got the confirmation text. Then watched table after table be sat before us. After 35 minutes or so, were told they didn't properly get us on the waitlist but we would be next. Then, 10 mins later, the same girl called another group up. I stood up to walk out the door and before I got into my car, which was parked directly in front, got a notice they cancelled us from the waitlist. Got the tip of the mound omelette which was full of everything I love- bacon (choice of meat), spinach, mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes.
