Had lunch next door and noticed this cute little bakery, we stopped by after we ate and grabbed some dessert Togo. The waitress was super friendly and quick and we were shocked to find out this place had been opened for 2 years and I've never noticed! The fruit tart was refreshing, loved the custard filling and the tart was still nice and crunchy, even after bringing it home. I ordered a small customized vintage cake - pistachio rose raspberry type of filling. * The cake came out exquisite with all the pretty details including a light silvery shimmer dust. I happened to see an article talking about this place and decided to give it a try. It's on the side streets. Unfortunately there's no street parking. I ordered the matcha pistachio croissant and another danish. I went there on a weekend after the afternoon. There's not a lot of choices at the time. Matcha pistachio croissant - more on the sweeter side due to matcha. The croissant itself is not crunchy. I also don't like the artificial coloring that they have inside the croissant. The outside of the croissant looks beautiful though. I also ordered the pistachio raspberry (?) danish. I don't really enjoy it since it's made of filo dough. We were visiting Pasadena and we wanted a sweet treat and after searching old town we came across Delight Pastry. The layout is inviting and they had some free samples of a waffle that was delicious and alleviated any concerns that this place was just all looks. The person at the register was very nice, helpful, answered all of my questions. We decided to try a pain du chocolate and a strawberry cruffin. They were both tasty and sweet. The Pain du chocolate is a perfect combination of chocolate and a buttery croissant. I have only seen cruffins up in San Francisco, and they are cross between a croissant and a muffin. I had not tried Strawberry before. It was pretty good, but could have had some more filling inside, the ratio seemed to be off and was mostly cruffin. Always love coming here!!! If you can't already tell from my profile history, I am a bakery fiend and have been coming here since they opened last year! Wonderful quality and perfectly instagram-able baked goods with an interior filled with hues of white and blush pink greet you when you walk in. Food: Always lovely, always delicious. The hype is 1000% true about the spiral croissants. Get the chocolate one, I promise you won't be sorry. Been wanting to go here because of their spiral croissants! Went and bought a pistachio spiral croissant and a napoleon. Croissant was really good. Buttery and flaky! Pistachio is my favorite so can't complain. Wasn't able to try the napoleon since one of my kids ate it. lol Service was good. The young lady was really friendly and helpful. The cafe is located in old town Pasadena. Easy parking in one of the nearby structures ($1 for 2hrs). Sooo many items to select from...pastries, desserts, drinks...sweet and savory. Delight Pastry is a wonderful bakery. The pastries are both beautiful aesthetically and taste great. We have had 2 parties recently, and both times my wife have placed large orders through Lily. Lily was very attentive and made great recommendations, and all our guests loved the pastries and asked us where we got them from. Their croissants are delicious too. We usually do take out order here, after we have lunch or dinner at Main Chick around the corner, the staff (beyond Lily) are all friendly and the atmosphere is great, very relaxing and elegant. Parking is same as all the other restaurants in the area - park at 1 of the public parking structures nearby and then walk here. I was greeted by an employee behind the counter. After looking at the many baked goods in the display case, I ended up getting: Raspberry Croissant, $5.50- My husband picked this but I didn't have any. He really liked it and thought the croissant was very good. Raspberry Cheesecake, $7.50- A beautiful presentation, I thought the cheesecake was nice and dense and worked well with the raspberries. Fruit tart, $7.50- I purchased this for my mother and so I did not eat any. Cupcake, $3.50- This cupcake is pretty. The cake itself has a nice light and fluffy crumb. The frosting on top is heavy but I think worked well with the crumb of the cupcake. Rose and pistachio mousse, $7.50- I picked this just because it looked so pretty. The mousse was nice and smooth and had a very nice flavor of rose and pistachio. In search for the best kougian Amann in the greater SGV area, I stopped by Delight Pastry. Unfortunately they were out of the plain kougian Amann so I decided to try the cherry almond flavor. I've also read so many amazing reviews about their pistachio and rose cake so I had to go for them both! YOLO! The pistachio and rose cake was absolutely divine. Yelpers you were on point with this one! The flavor is subtle and not overpowering but enough that you want more. It's a good mix of pistachio and a hint of rose, not too floral. Now on to the orgasmic texture. The outer frosting is more like buttery mousse and the inside layer is an Angel cake texture, followed by a jam center. This cake is so bomb. The cherry and almond kougian Amann was packed with filling of cherry and almond. If you're into baked goods stuffed with goodness, this is your jam. Unfortunately it's not mine. The kougian Amann was crispy like a croissant but it lacked the buttery glaze that I'm familiar with in a kougian Amann. It was a bit dry and not buttery and rich. It was a bit drier than a croissant and might have been over baked. Nonetheless, it was still delicious. The flavors of the cherry and almond were really good. The selection here is very creative (the owner is Persian and draws influences from Persian pastries/sweets) vs the more traditional offerings at, say, Bread Lounge or Friends & Family (probably my absolute favorite croissant inLA), but it's still the same buttery flakey core. In a cute little shop located in Pasadena, is Delight Pastry that sells many different types of pastries and baked goods. When you walk in, you are greeted by a popping modern look. The people helping you out are always super friendly and informative about their product. As for the product! It's just overall great. I always get the wheel croissants, the little cube croissants, and the rose croissant, because my friends loves that one. For the wheel croissants, they have pistachio and chocolate, but if you're lucky, they also have strawberry! It's flakey and filled inside. Every bite is even and I love that. Was talking to a friend from France who lives in Pasadena who was on a saga to find the best most French-like croissants in the area, Delight Pastry was her current top ranked croissant place. So of course I had to try it. The shop is off of Colorado, plenty of small tables and seats, and plenty of people on a Saturday afternoon chatting and enjoying their pastries. Coffee and small cakes looked good in their display, looks like they also do wedding cakes and larger cakes if you want to pre-order, as well as a special box of mixed small pastries special for the Superbowl. But I was on a mission to try their croissants, and they did not disappoint! Of the three I got, the Chocolate Giandiya was the best (also recommended by the store worker)-- first bite took me back to sitting at cafes in Europe, eating fresh baked chocolate croissants for breakfast everyday. The Rose Lychee croissant was fragrant and light, perfect in its not-too-sweetness. Not as much a fan of the Pistachio Matcha croissant (I could be biased as I don't like strong matcha flavors); the Pistachio croissant at Artelice is better. Both were good and stuffed with so much creamy filling! But in comparison to Articela in Burbank (they also have these viral croissants) they weren't as good. We also got the regular chocolate croissant, green matcha croissant and raspberry croissant that all had some filling. I especially enjoyed the raspberry. Stopped by Wednesday morning, a few customers inside and the one associate happy to help me. I scoured the pastry display and chose the ham & cheese croissant as well as a plain croissant, $12 for the two. The plain croissant wasn't as crispy and more fluffy/soft than I'd like but it was still good. The flavor wasn't as great as some places but also much better than other places. I really loved the ham & cheese croissant for a few reasons - the cheese crust on top was great and something not a lot of places do. Also there was actually a good amount of ham and cheese inside! Most places roll up the one slice of ham and cheese and put it in the middle of the pastry. The cake was drier than a tiramisu cake is supposed to be. The lady fingers were hard and crunchy. The cake part/cookies are supposed to be dipped in coffee or liquor, and the lady fingers tasted "off" the next day. I was also surprised how small the cake was. For the price my family paid for it, I was expecting at least a 9" cake. Not a 6-7". Not large enough for 5 people to have leftover & Not worth the money IMO.
