I am on a fixed budget and needed an upgrade. The thing that I appreciated about Neil is that he is willing to work with you based on your budget and needs. You just have to communicate, open up a working dialogue, and hear out all the options. Neil found me a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad with all the right features and software. He could have also sourced me a new gaming laptop with the best speeds and processing power but of course- out of my budget. If you get to know Neil, you realize he does care about his clients and wants to make things right. So far I am satisfied with my laptop computer and if I run into an issue I can always call him and he'll do his best to help - obviously within reason.

I had…read morea complaint, and came on pretty strong, not hostile, but firm and with some pointed concerns, and he stepped up, acted like a person of quality and met me in the middle. You don't find people like that often, and although I had an issue with something that was not to my liking, the best possible resolution is when there's listening and give and take, which Hadi, the manager there, definitely demostrated, not just lip service, but genuine accountability. I can recommend this shop for this reason, the work I had done was minimal, too simple to recommend them beyond what I've said, but I have no reason to believe that these ethics do not extend to their workmanship.

He walked me through what had happened, explained exactly what he was doing to fix it, and answered every question I had without rushing it. Dario saved me a lot of money and a lot of stress. My technician Jesse over at The Cheap Squad spent many hours across 4 sessions to get it fixed. During this entire time, he was extremely communicative and helpful, letting me know all the things he was trying alongside the status of the machine. On top of all that, he even mentioned that if he wasn't able to get it fixed, they would refund me out of good faith. I'm happy to say that my computer's healthy now, and The Cheap Squad is easily one of the best vendors I have ever worked with. I cannot recommend them enough. I brought my laptop in on Friday afternoon after liquid damage and was told they'd clean it,…read morediagnose it, and have it ready by Monday. After a couple of calls, I finally got it back Tuesday. The diagnosis was simply that a "power chip" was damaged, and they recommended replacing the entire motherboard for about $690 because they don't do chip-level repairs. They also charged me for the diagnostic ~$100, even though their website advertises a free diagnostic. The laptop still smells strongly of coffee, which also made me question whether it was actually cleaned or how thorough the cleaning was. Overall, the turnaround was longer than promised, communication required follow-up, and the diagnosis was too vague to give me confidence in spending nearly $700 on a motherboard replacement.
