Neil, this is a really dumb to communicate like this and it is clear that all I have been doing is reacting to the things your are writing here. ONCE AGAIN, these are the FACTS as to what happened: 1. I attempted to contact you through the form you have on your website on May 3 and YES I deliberately waited about 10 days before doing anything. Why? Because I am a reasonable person and realize that you must be very busy and was giving you a decent amount of time to respond, WHICH YOU NEVER DID. 2. This caused me to write the first review here and for your information, since you suggested YELP readers "check his profile page", I do many positive reviews also - it is MY choice to decide WHERE I place them and my preference is to use OTHER review sites for the positive ones - any more I use YELP for the negative ones because I want them to be as effective as possible and YELP happens to be most effective based on my experience and observations. I could give logical reasons for this, but frankly it is none of your business. 3. When you read my negative review, you went ballistic on me and posted 7 or 8 NASTY personally insulting reactions, which BTW, I have copies of. By the next morning you had redone and posted a milder reaction and also FINALLY responded to the original request form I sent you proving you were LYING about insisting at first that you did not get it at all. 4. I re-did my original review and you reacted again, this time implying that I am some sort jerk that gets his jollies posting negative reviews on YELP. You state that I have never been your customer or talked to you and that I should have assumed you were busy and not able to help me. The FACT is that the reason we never connected is because YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO RESPOND TO THE FORM I SENT YOU ON YOUR WEBSITE and you seem to think it is OK to just leave a potential customer hanging like that, which in my day was (and still is) RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and FOOLISH. I don't care how competent you are technically and how many good reviews you get - My complaint from the beginning was to actually do you a favor and hopefully get you to change your way of handing situations like this, but you are not wise enough to see this. It is evident you have a lot of built up frustration and anger and you are trying to use me and this situation to let some of it out. 5. So I came to see Neil @ BAY AREA COMPUTER REPAIRS about two weeks ago to get some work done on my 2010 MacBook Pro ,. Before heading to Neil I was in the market to make my MacBook faster, get a bigger hard drive and update my old OS operating system TO new OS. And of course I did some homework on options & sought out advice. The first place I went to was a blessing & a curse. The Apple Store. I told them I wanted a faster computer, bigger hard drive & new OS. And all i got from them was HIGH QUOTES. They said I had 4 gigs of ram in my MacBook pro so it couldn't go faster. I went in on a Saturday (Nov 28th after thanksgiving and was at the store right when it opened at 10 am. Neil was pleased to listen to what I wanted and gave great advice for options. So after talking Neil told me he could put in an I TB hard drive no problem I only had a 512 gigs before, he also confirmed that I had only 4 GIG of ram .So I went from 4 gig to 8 gig of ram. So I had a clean install done. I asked Neil how long the upgrades would take and I was shocked when he said "Two Hours Tops" Wow!!! GETTING MY LAPTOP SAME DAY .YEHH .That was great to hear, I was really excited about this I thought it would be longer because I noticed he had a lot of stuff to work on. So I walked back to mall to do some shopping and went to take care of my business call Neil he said MacBook was ready for pick up. Neil gave me the option of installing Mountain Lion or el captain and I told him if u upgrade it for me he told me don't worry no extra cost Wow. For my new1 tb gig Hard Drive, 8 gigs of Ram & labor the grand total was $210.00. Wow talk about a great deal. The other places on the peninsula kept quoting me $350 & up and that the repairs could take weeks. And my MacBook is running on el captain with no problems. I'd been having a problem for weeks with my home computer, which would crash repeatedly. A Windows message said the problem was that my video graphics card needed an updated driver. I tried the recommended fix twice, but the installation failed both times. After checking yelp, I called Neil and outlined the problem. He asked a few questions and quickly diagnosed the problem over the phone. He had me email him all my computer's parameters and recommended a new graphics card and updated amount of RAM. He researched the possible options and asked me to choose which I wanted: a $120 or $180 video card and either 8GB RAM ($85) or 16GB RAM ($140). I chose both higher-end options and he ordered them for me. [The final $520 price included the $160 graphics card and $150 RAM components. We spoke on Fri; the parts arrived Wednesday; he came to my house Sunday at 11 a.m. He was at my house 20 Minutes. First he opened up my CPU, took it outside the house, and dusted the inside (which was filthy) with an expensive compressor he bought. Then he replaced both the graphics card and the four RAM components and closed up the PC and reconnected all the cords, etc., in a surprisingly short span of time. He then installed Google Chrome and downloaded three free applications to keep my PC running smoothly. He explained why he preferred these apps to the ones I already had and patiently answered all of my many questions. Neil updated Adobe Reader and Java, which had more recent versions, and removed programs from the start-up menu to increase my PC's speed. He also makes some software recommendations. I VERY HAPPY WITH NEIL My laptop had trouble connecting to the internet (both WiFi and Ethernet) and I was extremely worried they would have to wipe it (I went to two other computer repair shops in Pacifica who both said that was my only option). I have tons of expensive software that I don't have time to put back on my comp so I was not willing to accept that answer. 09-06-2015 Awesome and affordable PC repair ... The hard disk on my laptop crashed and started to make clicking sounds when I tried to start it up. However, the operating system (Vista) would no longer start up, instead saying no boot drive found. My only hope was that the hard disk was not damaged enough to do at least a data recovery on it. Looking for a PC repair shop which does not cost an arm and a leg and has good reviews, I was so lucky to have found Bay Area PC Repair on Yelp.
