Been a year since I last reviewed this cafe so thought I'd update it! It's a small cafe located very close to PCC making it a great study or hang out spot! It's open daily 7:30am-5:30pm Parking can be difficult but there is street parking available. Inside is very spacious with a good amount of chairs and tables, as well as power outlets. Pricing is a bit on the higher side so expect to pay $7-$8 for most of their drinks. Really enjoy that they do sugar and ice adjustments, as well as offer complimentary milk substitutions. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Got the Strawberry Matcha Rain ($8) and it had real bits of strawberries on top, as well as on the bottom. The matcha cream top was very thick in consistency so be sure to give it a good stir prior to drinking. The matcha was quite subtle and the drink itself was very creamy. I enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet without any sugar adjustments. I liked how milky and fruity it was but wish it had a bolder matcha taste. Overall, the drinks are pretty good if you don't like such a bold matcha taste and more so a creamy and milky version.
I have heard of this place a few times and wanted to try it! Starting off, parking was on the street, so it might be hard to find parking in the busier hours. I came on a Friday afternoon around 1pm and it wasn't busy. They have a lot of matcha drinks so I tried one of their popular ones. I got the manga matcha rain. It was $8 so it was on the pricier side. It had a really great mango taste! The matcha flavor isn't too strong in my opinion, or its a very creamy matcha- so you don't that hint of bitterness that most other places have. Definitely a dessert drink. This is for those who think matcha taste like dirt or grass... they might be pleasantly surprised! I came in and out pretty quickly, and I didn't sit down at the tables so I can't comment on that. For me, I would come here if I was nearby but wouldn't go out of my way to get it probably because of the parking and price.
I stopped by this spot after a local recommended it as having one of the best matchas in Pasadena, and it definitely got me in the spirit to watch the new Minions and Monsters movie tomorrow! The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while. The staff had my drink out almost instantly around 10 AM on a Tuesday, and since I live so close, I'll definitely be back occasionally when I want to spoil myself.
Banana cream is thick. I like the almond stuff they put on top but it might be too sweet for some. Also, I must be blind because i never noticed the desserts on the right side, only the left side with the bakery items like croissants. Street parking if you end up on the one way street, i think they have parking in the back if you make a right at the correct street.
Heard about this place on tiktok but it was very underwhelming. Came here on a Sunday around 12 pm and stood in a short line. We got the mango matcha rain, banana cream matcha, and banana latte. For $7-8 per drink, you get a very SMALL sized cup, I believe it's a 12 oz. Although oat milk is the standard for the matcha drinks, the price for such a small cup was not worth it. For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.
Great little coffee shop that uses one of my favs Stumptown coffee! Super friendly service and cozy interiors and small exterior patio for furry friends. Free WiFi. Nice menu of coffee/espresso based drinks including an Einspanner (espresso & whip cream) as well as a pretty large matcha and latte menu (banana cream latte looks delish). Pastries and some other fun refrigerated sweet desserts. They were able to make my matcha latte sugar free which was a bonus! Mostly Street parking which is easy in the area.
The first time I came here, I ordered their einspanner and personally thought it was too milky for my liking. When I came back, I wanted to try something different! Service is always extremely friendly and attentive, and there is ample free street parking which is a huge plus in Pasadena! - Matcha Rain (8/10) - high quality matcha, not too bitter with the right amount of sweetness - Banana Cream Latte (9/10) - one of the only banana lattes I've had where I can clearly taste the fresh ripe banana used in the cream. I got an extra shot to offset the milkiness and it was perfect for me. The almond toffee sprinkled on top added a crunch that I didn't know I needed! - Dubai Crown Pastry (8/10) - sweet, rich, with very distinct layers; gorgeous presentation!!! - Ham & Cheese Croissant (6/10) - pretty standard
I tried the banana cream latte half sweet, and the coffee portion was good, but the banana cream top was not my favorite. It had some tartness due to the chunks of banana. It was different than what I was expecting. I give props to them for using real banana, but I feel like it may be better to strain out the banana chunks rather than keep them in the drink? I don't know, that's my personal opinion. Some other people may prefer banana chunks! Parking is super easy to find on the street, but I think they also have a back lot! Customer service from the staff member taking my order was good. There were no open tables when I went on a weekday around 4 pm.
Danbi Coffee is aesthetically pleasing and has delicious brews that satisfy anyone's taste pallets. Being in Pasadena, I'm surprised it wasn't heavily trafficked as other locations. I'm assuming because it isn't near the shopping areas of downtown, so it's not quite as bad. They have a designated parking area in the back of the coffee shop, but you can easily find parking on the street. We came on a Sunday morning and noticed all the seats being taken up inside. They have seats lined on the exterior of the perimeter of the store, too. The AC was blasting when we came, matching the cold, rainy temperature outside... we actually didn't end up staying here for long due to the that. When we were in line, we were able to peruse the merchandise that they had for display. Shirts, snacks, or drinkware. We also decided what items we had wanted from their menu. I was quite disappointed that they discontinued their mochi drink. I ended up getting their banana latte and my fiancé ordered their coffee coffee latte. We also ordered their beautiful dessert. Their banana latte was good but it truly tasted like an overripe banana; the type you put in your freezer to save for banana bread. I didn't quite like it. It was also topped with toffee bits, which gave the drink a new appeal. I think I preferred my fiancé's drink over mine. We ordered their Tropical Fruit dessert as well, which reminded me of the viral pastries I would see influencers eat. It had a crunch exterior made of chocolate with real mango chunks inside. It was mixed with passion fruit mousse and coconut crunch and sponge, like an almond joy bar. It was delicious but quite expensive to purchase. I'd love to try their other ones such as the Dubai chocolate one or their raspberry. Overall, the experience was quite decent. Their workers are very stressed and fixated on pumping out the drinks at a fast rate. I'd come back if I'm ever in the area, to try other drinks they have alongside their desserts.
I had a good experience at Danbi Coffee (Pasadena). I ordered the Banana Cream Latte ($6.50 - Iced). The caffeine is soft but uplifting. And when sipped directly from the cup, there's a fresh & clean banana flavor from the cream. There's even a "CRUNCH" from its sprinkled almond toffee. It's not bad. I arrived at Danbi Coffee (Pasadena) on Monday (around 10:50AM). Parking is EASY and FREE which is a very pleasant feeling whenever in Pasadena. There's a public free lot across the street. There's also free street parking nearby. Most street signs say, "2 Hour Parking" or "1 Hour Parking." Staff is friendly and helpful. Staff politely answered all my questions. Staff was also busy with a steady flow of customers. My coffee took eight minutes and five seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Banana Cream Latte ($6.50 - Iced). There's potential since the ingredients taste good quality and well-prepared. For example, I really appreciate how there's mashed up bananas in the cream. However, the drink tastes like separate ingredients all attempting to mesh together. This coffee doesn't taste like bananas; rather, it just tastes like a milky, weak-ish cold brew with squished bananas on top. It's not bad, but the cream tasted better than the coffee... On ambiance, Danbi Coffee (Pasadena) looks relatively clean but old. The plastic chairs have bits of hair in its crevices. There's swathes of dust underneath the corners of the building. The cleaning all felt a little half-done. Fortunately, the tables and general area felt clean. Also, I love how they're generous with the air conditioning; the location is almost chilly and crisp. There's also utility at Danbi Coffee (Pasadena). Although there's only three electrical outlets, they're adapted to hold four sockets each. There's also customer internet with password; the details are displayed near the register on the straw container. There's also a gender neutral restroom. In addition, there's about 12 interior tables, and there's about seven outside tables. There's plenty of seating. Overall, I had a good experience at Danbi Coffee (Pasadena). Parking is EASY and FREE which is a luxury for Pasadena. Although the location is also a bit worn down... there's genuine utility if searching for a solid work/study spot. Good matcha. Having tried both the matcha latte and matcha rain, I thought the oat milk was pretty creamy and the matcha taste was very earthy and refreshing. The cream top in the matcha rain was a nice touch. For $7-8, it runs kind of small compared to other places. Their pastries are decently priced. I tried the black sesame financier and pistachio croissant, and I enjoyed both. The financier was perfectly moist and chewy and the croissant was really crispy and flaky. The stock seems inconsistent. Twice I went around 12pm and the first time I went they said they ran out of croissants. If you're wanting to do work here, there are only two outlets on the wall so you have to be sitting at one of the tables that's close to the wall. Not sure why others say parking is easy. On both my visits, I struggled to find parking (and I went on weekdays). There is a chunk of area where you can't park and the area where you can park is nearly filled that parallel parking feels like playing Tetris. Because of that, I don't see myself coming here as often as I'd like to. read more

Came to Danbi Coffee for a quick summer pick-me-up and ended up on the world's slowest coffee date. One barista was juggling espresso shots, drinks, and literally everything else while the line looked like a casual audience for a circus act. Another staff member seemed very busy... chatting. The Einspanner? Chef's kiss. The Kinako latte? Meh. Drinks eventually arrived, chaos included, but the vibes were cute. Moral of the story: come for the Einspanner, stay for the entertainment, don't come if you're in a rush!! read more
strawberry matcha rain: 9/10 very flavorful and you can really taste the matcha. It's not overpowering and it's the perfect balance with the strawberry sweetness. portion is small and a bit pricey but it's worth it for the quality. overall, service was quick. inside is spacious with lots of seating. there was a short line that took less than 10 minutes to order. i would come back again, the matcha is definitely high quality! read more

I don't know where to start because I was not happy at all with Danbi. "Danbi" in Korean means a long-awaited rain that falls after a long drought. I'm not sure I fully understand the name or the concept, but I guess they wanted their drinks to feel like Danbi to the customers; something refreshing and relieving after a long wait but that is just my guess. Their PR team must be marketing really hard because they keep popping up on my social media, and I happen to be nearby running errands with my mom and decided to give it a try because I am not coming all the way here just for this. So my mom and I waited a little more than 30 minutes to get to the counter. A lot of us had to wait outside in the sun with no shade, and it wasn't fun. When it was finally my turn to order, I got an Americano and an Iced Injulmi Latte with light ice. I waited and waited, and I saw at least 8 more people who ordered after me get their drinks and leave. I am still sitting down waiting for my drinks to come out. I walked up to the pickup area and pointed at the Injulmi Latte that had been sitting there for a few minutes, asking if it was mine. She asked for my name and it was. Then I asked where my other drink was. It had been made, but it was still sitting on the other side of the counter. But that wasn't the end of it. I ordered an Americano, but it was made iced. I never ordered an Iced Americano. To be exact, the person who took my order didn't even bother to ask whether I wanted it hot or iced. Still, I never said the word "iced" either. So I had to wait even longer to get the correct drink. I had to grab a sleeve, there wasn't one. I had to grab a straw, also missing. I ended up having to ask, and that's when one of the girls just casually handed it to me. Everything felt so disorganized, and the counter area wasn't even tidy. One of the customers returned their strawberry matcha, and the worker kept the returned drink and gave it to, I'm guessing, a friend or someone she knew. I mean, it's not my place to say anything, but even as a friend, I wouldn't want to take a returned drink, even if it's "free." To be honest, my Injulmi Latte was just okay. I haven't had any decent Injulmi Latte like the one I had in Koreatown. It wasn't original. It looked just like the one I ordered from the other cafe, which I believe is the first, at least here in Los Angeles. It was really just a regular latte with heavy cream; there was no actual Injulmi flavor in the drink itself. Injulmi is just rice cakes with roasted soybean powder, and it was just okay. Nothing new here. I guess at least it wasn't like Gong Gan, serving something that isn't Injulmi, but it can get pretty messy eating it because of the loose powder. Will I come back? Absolutely not. I was hoping, actually, desperately hoping that my drinks would be like Danbi after waiting more than 30 minutes out in the sun, but needless to say, that was definitely not the case. I love it here! The interior is very modern and lots of small tables of two. They have fresh pastries from the Farmer's Market that I haven't tried but looks so good. Every time I came here, there was a line to the door! So definitely prepare to wait but they are fast. Went here about three times and each time there matcha HITS! If you like sweet drinks, this is a good place for it. The matcha is great for people who are new to it or want to try matcha. The vienna coffee was also good-- the cream was perfectly sweet. The portions are slightly small for the price because there is always a cup filled half with ice by the time I finish it. But will definitely be back. read more
Cute aesthetic cafe across the street from PCC! I ordered the Matcha Rain with whole milk (basically a matcha latte with matcha cream top). It's super creamy and on the sweeter side. I was so surprised by how nutty the matcha tasted. I would rate it a 8.5/10! I'm just not used to nutty matcha & it was pretty pricey for such a small cup. Parking is convenient because the street has a lot of open spaces. Drinks came out quick, but the workers didn't seem the most approachable or enthusiastic to take my order. But I know a lot of them are just young and still learning customer service. There's lots of seating inside and a good space to study at. read more
#160 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles - Danbi is a new Korean coffeeshop in Pasadena that opened about a month ago. It's located on Green across from Pasadena City College, so set your expectations because street parking isn't always easy to find in that area. I came by on a Monday at 10 am, which was a good time to avoid any lines. The shop was still packed but I was able to grab one of the few tables left. However, by the time I left at 10:40 there was a line out the door. The second time I stopped by, I arrived around 12:30 pm on a weekday and was stuck in a pretty long line. Honestly, I'm confused by how crazy the lines get here on a daily basis - at the end of the day, it's still just a coffeeshop and Pasadena is filled to the brim with coffeeshops. Moving onto the drinks - I ordered an Injulmi mochi latte and a Matcha Rain. Sadly, they didn't tell me until the drink came out that they were out of the mochi topping, which was disappointing. They still didn't have mochi the second time I stopped by a week later; at this point just take out mochi from the drink name if it's never in stock. Don't get me wrong, the drink was still good, with a creamy, nutty and slightly sweet flavor profile that complemented the espresso. It just would have been better with the mochi. As for the matcha rain (matcha latte with matcha foam), this one was a pass for me, as the matcha tasted overly bitter. I've had better double matchas elsewhere. Note: The shop was pretty dirty both times I came; they could definitely wipe down the tables at least, even if they don't have time to sweep the floor. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised to find that the line went out the door. Even though there was a long line, it moved super quick! What I ordered: Matcha Rain (matcha latte with matcha cream on top) -Loved how strong the matcha was and how the cream was SUPER smooth! Highly recommend this drink! I usually take a while to finish my matcha but this was all gone within a few minutes. IMO, it was just that good. The only downsides were the price and the size of the drink. It was $7.50 and only came in one size and unfortunately, half of the cup was filled with ice. However, I'd come back just for this drink! read more

Omg new favorite matcha spot!! I came here w my dad for a Sunday morning breakfast, around 8 am and it was already a little busy! There is exclusively indoor seating and it was decorated nicely so my dad already has asked to return here with me. Matcha rain 5/5, ok this is not a matcha latte and it's more like a matcha Einspanner but this is incredible. It normally comes w oat milk but I swapped it out for almond and it was sooooooo well done I absolutely will come back for this Hot Matcha latte 5/5, my dad got this and coming from a man who hates matcha, he loved this so much he asked us to come back here again Guava pastry 5/5, portos whomst??? Genuinely the best guava jam in a pastry I have ever had?? this was so wild to me as I chose this as just something to nibble on w my drink but it was so incredible??? Hiya! Back with coffee/matcha reviews! Danbi is a new coffee place in Pasadena that is getting the recognition it definitely deserves! The drinks here are good and tasty and are worth the wait! I didn't have a single issue besides the line being long but that's due to the hype around Danbi. We got the Injelomi mochi latte that my brother stated was yummy and not too sweet. The Mocha was really strong and is a fan favorite of mine and my bf. I got the matcha latte to try and it definitely was better than most I've had so that's good enough for me. I love the inside it's very clean and has a nice vibe, there was a lot of people just drinking and hanging out with friends or doing work. definitely coming back again!! read more

Cute 4.5/5 spot! It's a bit crowded, but the wait isn't too awful (I waited 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon). The inside of the cafe is pretty loud, and it can be challenging to get a seat. Luckily, there is outside seating which is also quieter. I parked down the street. Total costed me $28.18 - one croissant and three drinks. I'd come back! Matcha Latte - Without the cream top, the matcha has a kind of nutty taste... unless I'm just imagining it? I recommend not drinking it with a straw. This way, the cream on top mixes into the drink while you sip it (tastes a lot better, trust me). Overall, it's not too sweet. The matcha flavor is strong and delicious. Einspänner - 50% sugar. Not very sweet, with a strong coffee flavor. I'd probably go for 75% next time since I have a sweet tooth. However, my mom found 50% to be perfect. Matcha Strawberry - The strawberry isn't too sweet, probably a jam (with seeds). It pairs well with the matcha. I'm usually not a fan of strawberry matcha, but this one was actually pretty good. read more

Drinks: Matcha rain: 7.5/10 ($8, now $7.5) - very creamy & rich - matcha profile is strong - oat milk which i prefer - kinda tasted powdery Matcha latte: 7/10 ($7) - very creamy and smooth - matcha profile is there Einspannier latte: 7/10 ($6.5) - sweet & creamy - coffee flavoring isn't as strong as I wanted Butterscotch latte: 7.2/10 ($6.5) - very similar to the einspannier, not as sweet but stronger coffee flavoring service: average wait time: 6 minutes on a weekday around 9am (2 workers) ambience: - pretty nice! - natural lighting overall: I would rate this place a 3.5/5 - has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating - 12oz is quite steep for the price point my main reason for the lowish rating is the hygiene. I was deeply disappointed by how dirty and unsanitary the seats and tables were in the morning. All the tables inside had left over crumbs, drink stains, and even hair (9am). I would advise the team to make sure that the people closing and opening are cleaning properly. read more
Had no idea this spot was such a big deal until our son introduced us to it! It's definitely popular with the younger crowd, there was a pretty long line when we got there, but the vibe is fun. They have a huge menu with so many flavored coffee options and different matcha offerings. We decided to try the Banana Cream Matcha and the Strawberry Cream Matcha. Both were delicious, though heads up, they are very sweet! It's a really nice place to grab a drink and hang out after church. For parking, there is a lot in the back, otherwise, you can usually find street parking right on Green Street. read more

First- outlets - only along the walls, few spoted wifi pw: sweetrain seating: plenty but a little cramped This place took over kokoroll and at first I was sad because I liked getting poke and boba there, but then was hyped that a place serving higher quality drinks and great double matcha was so close to me! Matcha rain- basically a double matcha, price is high, and about what you expect a cup of double matcha to be in this area. It was great, but I feel like it couldve been a bit stronger for about $8 a cup. Injulmi Latte - i actually liked this one more! The coffee was strong and they sweetened it well. Rating: 9.5/10 Still so delicious and the best matcha I've had in the 626! With the rise of matcha cafes in the SGV, I've been trying each of them one by one but Danbi stands out far from the others. Danbi's matcha rain is so full-bodied and perfectly sweet, unlike other matchas I've had here that were watery and astringent in aftertaste. The wait has lessened since their opening, especially during weekdays, but most of the tables are still packed with people studying and hanging out. Will definitely be back many many times since I live very close by! read more

Taking a corner space at Pasadena's residential area, Danbi provided huge well-lit space that could accommodate large crowd yet constantly being full-house throughout the day! It's kind of mix between people studying, working, and just hanging out or even getting drinks for to-go. It's impressive that as the day went, the venue was just getting busier and the order line got extended. The pastry case had been almost empty even before noon. They served Stumptown coffee, but I went for their matcha as my first cup from Danbi, knowing they seemed to be most well-known by it. It's their version of Matcha with Matcha cream top, Matcha Rain. The Matcha Latte itself was so-so IMO, not as intense as I expected when spotting the vibrant green look. Nonetheless, their cream top was maybe one of my heart-winners from a bunch I have tried so far. If I guessed correctly, it seemed to feature cream cheese as there's cheesy note within the flavor, giving that nice party of sweet and salty taste on the palate. read more

This place is pretty good. My partner and I arrived around 11AM on a Friday and it was very crowded, but luckily we were able to grab a seat after ordering. Definitely don't come with a large group of friends expecting open seating- this place is very popular and there isn't much street parking available. They are doing a grand opening promotion of a stainless steel mug or t-shirt with purchase, but when we came, they said they did not have any more mugs :( That was one big reason I wanted to check this place out because I thought the free mug was really cute, so that was disappointing. Since the free items are listed as "until supplies last", I doubt they will restock the mug for their grand opening freebies. So expect a shirt if you're coming here for their limited time free items. My partner and I ordered their Matcha Latte, Matcha Rain (matcha cream top), and an iced Orange Mocha. I like that they don't seem to charge extra for milk alternatives, and for the matcha lattes they default to oat milk. One thing to note- you *cannot adjust the sweetness on the matcha*. When we asked, we were told it's pre-sweetened so it's impossible to adjust it. Thoughts on the drinks- 1. Matcha Latte - Really creamy but too sweet- makes me want to eat something salty with it to balance it out. Really wish the sweetener was adjustable and not pre-mixed into the matcha. 3/5. 2. Matcha Rain - My girlfriend really liked this one! We tried one with a cream top from rōk the other day and she liked this one way more. She wished there was a stronger matcha flavor. Her rating- 4/5. 3. Orange Mocha - Beautiful presentation with the dried orange slice on top but this was nasty sorry :( Not sure I agree that these two flavors go together. 0/5, we couldn't drink this at all. Overall our first experience was pretty good here. A few things to improve- - The staff seemed a little unorganized but I understand they're a new business probably still working out the kinks in their system. - The line to order got backed up and very long multiple times while we were there. I hope they either add another cashier or add tablets to order to make it a smoother checkout process in the future. - Food options. They'll be adding sweet toast options soon but since their matcha is so sweet and you can't adjust the sweetness, I think they need savory options as well. read more
A fantastic spot for both matcha and coffee. The interior is minimalistic with ample seating. Went on a Monday afternoon and the line was not too long! Service was quick and efficient. Spacious coffee shop with lots of seating. Aesthetic drinks. They serve coffee, matcha, and some pastries. I got the matcha rain which is a matcha latte that comes with matcha cream. Tasty and strong matcha flavor. Like the ceremonial matcha they use. Comes with oat milk default and love the flavor and creaminess of the oat milk they use. Matcha cream is salted with matcha flavor. I got the injulmi mochi latte. The mochi is on the harder side and not as pleasant to chew. Decent coffee flavor but doesn't have much injulmi taste. Quick service. Simple cafe with street parking. Would come back for the matcha if in Pasadena. read more
ORDER strawberry matcha rain (2.5/5) im so disappointed :') the price is very steep considering how small the cup is (12-13oz for $8.29 after tax). the oat milk overpowers the matcha, so the matcha taste was mainly from the foam, but still very light. the strawberry bits were yummy, but overall the drink lacked strawberry taste as well, since the only time you get the flavor is from chewing on the bits. i definitely see the potential, but was let down due to the lack of matcha taste. SERVICE they're very busy and the drink took around 10 minutes to come out, not bad! AMBIANCE street parking can be hard to find, but we got lucky on a saturday afternoon. very crowded inside, but plenty of tables and seats. read more

New coffee spot just west of Pasadena City College. Parking is streetside. Got their Einspanner (Vienna cream) which was standard but nicely flavored. Appreciate the non dairy alternatives and sweetness adjustment for no additional cost. Not necessarily coffee worth going out of your way for, but does the trick if in the area. They also have high quality matcha drinks. They do have some food but given currently soft opening, not yet available. So more to try still! Seating area is bright with wide windows and there's a bathroom. Perfect for studying or relaxing. read more
K-town has come to Pasadena! We have been going to all the Infatuation LA best matcha spots and danbi is as good as the ones we have been too. I appreciate the milk of choice for their Matcha Rain is oatmilk. I prefer no dairy and not having to pay extra is great. We have tried the Matcha Strawberry, Matcha Rain and their Vienna. All are excellent. We took advantage of their soft opening BOGO, however we have returned for their drinks at regular price. I would say the only kink was when they get busy- they rush. Don't do that! I would rather wait a few minutes longer for a perfect drink rather than an almost perfect one. read more

This is hands-down my go-to coffee shop in Pasadena. They do the basics right. Classic drinks, consistent quality, and zero gimmicks. Every time I come here, the coffee tastes the same in the best way: balanced, well-extracted, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. I've tried dozens of coffee shops across LA, including plenty of hyped spots, and I still come back here because I actually leave satisfied. Their classics outperform every nearby competitor, and that kind of consistency is rare. If you want good coffee without being disappointed or guessing what you're going to get, this is the place. read more
Cute new cafe in Pasadena area! The place was packed when we went, with most people ordering matcha. There were no seats available when we went which was around midday on a weekend. We ordered 3 Matcha Rains. Matcha is incredibly high quality, no bitter taste and a very smooth texture as well. The drink itself has a sweet matcha cold foam on top. The price is a little steep but most cafes charge around the same anyways. The menu was also slightly limited but I will be back to try some other drinks!! read more
Danbi is a new coffee shop in Pasadena located at the SW corner of Green and Holliston. Plenty of east street parking. It's a high-ceiling, bright, open space inside with plenty of seating. And if you don't like the din of a crowded coffee shop (it is busy and popular), there's also seating inside. Decor is minimalist white with some warm wooden paneling. The staff are friendly if somewhat distracted which is understandable since they are relatively new; I imagine they are still getting used to the flow and contending with lots of customers. Most importantly, coffee drinks are great. I've only had their espresso tonic. I really appreciate that they offer this! Many coffee shops do not. The first time I was here, I didn't see any pastries but they did have toasts on their menu. My second time, I see they now offer pastries. Overall a nice addition to the already plentiful coffee scene in Pasadena. Note to the owner(s): Please let your customers use their personal cups! It's the right thing to do for the environment and it saves your busy on single-use disposable plastic cup costs anyway. read more
I was at my friends house in Pasadena and saw that this cute spot was near her place. This is definitely a hot spots for students that live in the area. There is some street parking and parking at the McDonalds close to the cafe. There was a line and the tables were full of people enjoying their drinks and pastries. I ordered the Banana Cream Matcha Latte and my friend ordered the Matcha Rain. The banana cream was DELICIOUS. Wow, it provided just the right amount of sweetness! When you mix the cream and toffee nuts it's a yummy banana matcha treat. The matcha rain was also creamy and delicious. They were so nice and made our drinks quick! I will definitely come back. :) read more
