Danbi is a korean coffee shop famous for various and unique drinks. This place has been in my Yelp list for a while Finally, I went to Danbi Coffee. The place has youthful vibes. It was very busy. The drink menu is interesting. We ordered the following; - Banana Pudding Latte 5/5 - Banana cream Matcha with oat milk 5/5 With almond toffee toppings No additional charge for milk substitute. - Tropical Mango 3/5 First kick is tangy. It was unexpected then the mango flavor hits and it gives balance. It also have coconut, a layer of mango pieces that not particularly too sweet. The base is cake. The service was fast although it was busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice place to go to and try their unique drinks.
Tucked away on a corner in Pasadena, this small cafe never disappoints. The interior is pretty spacious with plenty of seating when it isn't busy. There's also seating on the patio, as well. They serve a variety of drinks ranging from matcha to coffee to teas. They even have a small section for merchandise. If you're hungry, they even have some pastries or cakes. My go to drink is the matcha rain but you can't go wrong with anything here. I love that their matcha drinks come with oat milk by default.
First Timer! Outstanding coffee! It's a must try! - Coffee Rain with oatmilk 5/5 -Einspanner with oatmilk 5/5 -Bannana Cream latte 5/5 Great customer service, welcoming, very friendly, and positive attitude Clean environment, inside seating and outside seating available, great music! Great atmosphere and decorations inside love the style! Restrooms available Street parking available Definitely recommended Friends and family I will be back soon for more!
Been a year since I last reviewed this cafe so thought I'd update it! It's a small cafe located very close to PCC making it a great study or hang out spot! It's open daily 7:30am-5:30pm Parking can be difficult but there is street parking available. Inside is very spacious with a good amount of chairs and tables, as well as power outlets. Pricing is a bit on the higher side so expect to pay $7-$8 for most of their drinks. Really enjoy that they do sugar and ice adjustments, as well as offer complimentary milk substitutions. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Got the Strawberry Matcha Rain ($8) and it had real bits of strawberries on top, as well as on the bottom. The matcha cream top was very thick in consistency so be sure to give it a good stir prior to drinking. The matcha was quite subtle and the drink itself was very creamy. I enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet without any sugar adjustments. I liked how milky and fruity it was but wish it had a bolder matcha taste. Overall, the drinks are pretty good if you don't like such a bold matcha taste and more so a creamy and milky version.
Thought the matcha here was ok. I got the Matcha Rain and the Strawberry Matcha Rain. The Matcha Rain was not bad. I wish the matcha was a bit stronger, and I would've preferred a little more sweetness. Overall, it was ok and a bit bland. The Strawberry Matcha Rain was better, but there was nothing striking about it. I liked the strawberry bits, but it's just your standard strawberry matcha. I would've preferred a stronger matcha taste for this one as well. Overall, drinks are not bad but on the pricier side where each drink costs about $8. The service was great though! I asked the cashier for recommendations and she was super friendly and accommodating. I might come back to try their coffee drinks.
Danbi Coffee had been on my list for quite some time thanks to the buzz surrounding its signature matcha creations. Beyond its innovative drinks, the café offers an impressive lineup of freshly baked pastries made in-house, ensuring there's something to suit every palate. From the moment our order arrived, the vibrant presentation left us even more excited to dig in. **Banana Cream Matcha: 4/5** The Banana Cream Matcha reimagined the classic matcha latte with a decadent twist. Topped with a luscious layer of banana-infused foam and crunchy almond toffee, it offered a satisfying textural contrast, while the housemade banana purée, featuring chunks of real banana, delivered a fresh, naturally sweet flavor. The latte was exceptionally smooth and creamy, but it leaned a bit too milky, causing the matcha's earthy notes to become fairly subdued. It was also slightly sweeter than my preference, making it feel more like a dessert-inspired matcha than a true matcha-forward latte. **Pistachio Croissant: 5/5** This was easily the highlight of our order. The croissant featured an incredibly flaky, crispy exterior that gave way to a light, airy interior with beautiful buttery layers. It was generously filled with a rich, nutty cream that accentuated the pistachio's deep, roasted flavor while maintaining just the right amount of sweetness. Finished with a white chocolate pistachio drizzle and a delicate dusting of powdered sugar, every bite was indulgent yet perfectly balanced. Overall, Danbi Coffee shows plenty of promise through its specialty drinks and well-executed pastries. While I'd love to see a bolder matcha presence in their lattes, the exceptional pistachio croissant alone gives me every reason to return and explore the rest of their menu.
I have heard of this place a few times and wanted to try it! Starting off, parking was on the street, so it might be hard to find parking in the busier hours. I came on a Friday afternoon around 1pm and it wasn't busy. They have a lot of matcha drinks so I tried one of their popular ones. I got the manga matcha rain. It was $8 so it was on the pricier side. It had a really great mango taste! The matcha flavor isn't too strong in my opinion, or its a very creamy matcha- so you don't that hint of bitterness that most other places have. Definitely a dessert drink. This is for those who think matcha taste like dirt or grass... they might be pleasantly surprised! I came in and out pretty quickly, and I didn't sit down at the tables so I can't comment on that. For me, I would come here if I was nearby but wouldn't go out of my way to get it probably because of the parking and price.
I stopped by this spot after a local recommended it as having one of the best matchas in Pasadena, and it definitely got me in the spirit to watch the new Minions and Monsters movie tomorrow! The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while. The staff had my drink out almost instantly around 10 AM on a Tuesday, and since I live so close, I'll definitely be back occasionally when I want to spoil myself.
Banana cream is thick. I like the almond stuff they put on top but it might be too sweet for some. Also, I must be blind because i never noticed the desserts on the right side, only the left side with the bakery items like croissants. Street parking if you end up on the one way street, i think they have parking in the back if you make a right at the correct street.
Cute little matcha spot just outside Old Town Pasadena! The shop is super cute and they have so many matcha drinks with different cloud foams. I tried the banana matcha with toffee bits and banana cloud foam, and it was so good! They use real bananas, so if you love banana, you'll definitely enjoy this one. I also love that they offer oat and almond milk with no extra charge. Definitely want to come back and try another matcha flavor!
Heard about this place on tiktok but it was very underwhelming. Came here on a Sunday around 12 pm and stood in a short line. We got the mango matcha rain, banana cream matcha, and banana latte. For $7-8 per drink, you get a very SMALL sized cup, I believe it's a 12 oz. Although oat milk is the standard for the matcha drinks, the price for such a small cup was not worth it. For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.
The first time I came here, I ordered their einspanner and personally thought it was too milky for my liking. When I came back, I wanted to try something different! Service is always extremely friendly and attentive, and there is ample free street parking which is a huge plus in Pasadena! - Matcha Rain (8/10) - high quality matcha, not too bitter with the right amount of sweetness - Banana Cream Latte (9/10) - one of the only banana lattes I've had where I can clearly taste the fresh ripe banana used in the cream. I got an extra shot to offset the milkiness and it was perfect for me. The almond toffee sprinkled on top added a crunch that I didn't know I needed! - Dubai Crown Pastry (8/10) - sweet, rich, with very distinct layers; gorgeous presentation!!! - Ham & Cheese Croissant (6/10) - pretty standard
A hidden gem on green street. Dan I means Sweet Rain in Korean. They have good drink menu, desserts, snacks, pastries and teas you can purchase. Great flow of traffic walking distance near Pasadena City College. I ordered matcha lattee with banana foam topped with toffee almond crumbles. There are many seating tables and perfect location for dessert and tea

This is hands-down my go-to coffee shop in Pasadena. They do the basics right. Classic drinks, consistent quality, and zero gimmicks. Every time I come here, the coffee tastes the same in the best way: balanced, well-extracted, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. I've tried dozens of coffee shops across LA, including plenty of hyped spots, and I still come back here because I actually leave satisfied. Their classics outperform every nearby competitor, and that kind of consistency is rare. If you want good coffee without being disappointed or guessing what you're going to get, this is the place. read more
Cute new cafe in Pasadena area! The place was packed when we went, with most people ordering matcha. There were no seats available when we went which was around midday on a weekend. We ordered 3 Matcha Rains. Matcha is incredibly high quality, no bitter taste and a very smooth texture as well. The drink itself has a sweet matcha cold foam on top. The price is a little steep but most cafes charge around the same anyways. The menu was also slightly limited but I will be back to try some other drinks!! read more
Danbi is a new coffee shop in Pasadena located at the SW corner of Green and Holliston. Plenty of east street parking. It's a high-ceiling, bright, open space inside with plenty of seating. And if you don't like the din of a crowded coffee shop (it is busy and popular), there's also seating inside. Decor is minimalist white with some warm wooden paneling. The staff are friendly if somewhat distracted which is understandable since they are relatively new; I imagine they are still getting used to the flow and contending with lots of customers. Most importantly, coffee drinks are great. I've only had their espresso tonic. I really appreciate that they offer this! Many coffee shops do not. The first time I was here, I didn't see any pastries but they did have toasts on their menu. My second time, I see they now offer pastries. Overall a nice addition to the already plentiful coffee scene in Pasadena. Note to the owner(s): Please let your customers use their personal cups! It's the right thing to do for the environment and it saves your busy on single-use disposable plastic cup costs anyway. read more
I was at my friends house in Pasadena and saw that this cute spot was near her place. This is definitely a hot spots for students that live in the area. There is some street parking and parking at the McDonalds close to the cafe. There was a line and the tables were full of people enjoying their drinks and pastries. I ordered the Banana Cream Matcha Latte and my friend ordered the Matcha Rain. The banana cream was DELICIOUS. Wow, it provided just the right amount of sweetness! When you mix the cream and toffee nuts it's a yummy banana matcha treat. The matcha rain was also creamy and delicious. They were so nice and made our drinks quick! I will definitely come back. :) read more

Tried Danbi for the first time! We received the marketing flyer in the mail and wanted to stop by. First impression was that it was pretty busy especially on Monday around 12:30pm so it must be good. We had the Einspanner and the Mochi Coffee. The drinks were on the heavier, sweeter side. If I can compare the einspanner, it tastes almost the same as the Vienna Coffee that Mandarin (on S. Lake) sells. They're very comparable. The actual rice cake on the stick was not as soft as you would think. Almost like it had been sitting there for a bit but it wasn't the worst. The coffee was good though. For both drinks, I'd say they're on the sweeter side. We didn't make any sweetness adjustments but we probably would in the future, if we decide to come back. The ambience was filled with people either studying or just hanging out. A few things I noticed that made me dock points: - the pastries are just out in your face. I saw flies wandering around. A nice show case to display them would be beneficial. - the people making your drinks have their HAIR DOWN. Please put your hair up when handling food/drinks. That's pretty standard in the industry. read more
I think this place is hands down one of the better places to get matcha in LA. And trust me I have tried many matcha places - Stereoscope coffee, Maru, Kumquat, and Urth. The only matcha place on east side I still haven't tried is Tea Master Matcha Cafe and Green Tea Shop in Little Tokyo. There is a reason why there is a long line no matter what time of day you go - I went both on a Thursday at 10:30 AM and on Friday at 1:00 PM and both times there was a line to the door. However, when I went they were pretty fast and efficient - my drink was ready in less than 10 minutes from when I ordered. As a heads up they don't always consistently call out your name/drink, so I would suggest going to the counter and checking the drinks and find the one with your name attached to it. I had matcha rain and matcha strawberry and my gosh was it delicious. The matcha rain was perfectly smooth and creamy with just right amount of matcha flavor and matcha strawberry was a cool and refreshing drink. I also love that all their drinks come standard with oat milk and there's no upcharge for it. Each drink is about $7-8 which I think is basic drink prices now in LA, but I found one drink to be plenty for me. You can also customize sweetness if you need it more or less sweet and amount of ice. I found how it comes standard actually to be the best and that's saying something as I don't like overly sweet drinks so I usually ask it for less sweet. Food wise early in morning they do sell pastries - however by the time I got there by 11 am there weren't many pastries left. It's a very clean aesthetic and they do have an outdoor patio area with umbrellas on the side as well as in front to sip. I actually was able to study here and there were definitely students from PCC studying here, but be aware the acoustics of the cafe are very loud so bring headphones if you need silence/music to concentrate. There are a limited amount of outlets (only 3 tables had them), so would probably recommend if you need an extended study place I can't recommend this. Parking wise it's 2 hour street parking and 1 hour street parking. I never had any difficulty finding parking on Green, Chester, and Colorado the few times I went. read more
tried Danbi Coffee for the first time & I have to say the matcha rain totally lived up to the name. so smooth, subtly sweet & honestly one of the best matcha drinks I've had in a while. I also tried the einspanner latte - super rich & flavorful, the kind of drink that lingers in the best way. that said, I couldn't help but notice the floors right when I walked in. they were noticeably dirty & the trash bins were overflowing, which really took away from the overall vibe of the place. cleanliness is part of the cafe experience for me, so I had to give it 3 stars. i really hope they can tighten up the upkeep because the drinks are genuinely worth coming back for. read more
My girlfriend and I came on Wednesday early afternoon. This new spot took over Coco Roll. It was busy and all the tables were taken. I went with the matcha latte and default milk is oat milk. My girlfriend went with a suggestion made by another customer : einspänner* (Vienna cream coffee ) default milk is cow's milk and foam is premade. We could barely hear the cashier since it was so loud. I paid cash and she gave me the incorrect change. I had to let her know and she double checked and gave me the correct change. There were two other staff making drinks so the drinks took a while to come out. I wasn't a fan of the matcha. Had a very strange aftertaste. My girlfriend thought her drink was ok. Bathroom was somewhat clean. The restaurant floor was gross. There's inside and outside seating. Not a fan of this place.street parking. read more
The cafe is located on the corner of Green and Holliston. Parking on the street and can be tough when busy. They have 1 restroom past the counter. They have inside and outside seating. You order at the counter with the cashier. I got the injeolmi latte and butterscotch latte. The injeolmi latte was sweet and a little nutty. I love that actual injeolmi is included with the drink. It was soft and chewy. The butterscotch was basically a sweet milky coffee. I didn't really taste the butterscotch flavor but still yummy. read more

Why order just one drink when you can get two. I needed a place to get some work done, but this place was popping! A place to come and hang out. They ALWAYS had a line the whole time I was there. I definitely will need to bring my friends here to enjoy. The pistachio crossaint was so yummy. Glad I was able to grab the last one. I know this place is known for matcha but I cannot resist an espresso tonic. So get both! Thank goodness I did! Both drinks were so yummy. Matcha latte was something to definitely come back to. I will need to bring my lactase to try the matcha rain! read more
Such a cute and new coffee shop right across Pasadena City College! Quick and nice service. Their menu all include oat milk as their base milk which is sweet considering oat milk is pricy any where else. They have solid matcha and coffee. I honestly recommend anything on their matcha menu especially the matcha rain. read more

I was looking for matcha in the area and came across Danbi - what a cute find! They had just opened and were doing a promotion of buy any drink and get a free stainless steel mug or T shirt. My husband got the Einspanner and I got the Matcha Rain. My drink was so delicious!! The matcha cream on top was sweet but not too sweet, and went perfectly with the drink. The Einspanner was tasty as well. read more
Danbi Coffee is one of the newer coffee shops catching some hype on social media and for good reason! This spot is located in Pasadena where street parking will be your best bet for parking. Wifey and I pulled up with a friend for our weekend matcha run around 10am and there was a line out the door! Inside, they have a nice modern setup with seating options inside and outside on their patio. We waited about 20 minutes before we ordered. For their menu, they have a selection of different coffee, matcha, and tonics to choose from. Wifey and I got the Matcha Rain and our friend got the Injulmi Mochi Latte. Both drinks were great with a nice balance of not being too sweet! Overall, this spot is definitely poppin off for a reason! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Keep in mind that due to lines and popularity, there may not be any seating so plan accordingly. Come stop by to support and see what all the hype is about for yourself! read more
Okay so the place itself overall is not bad. There's a lot of tables inside and outside but it does get busy. I took a star off because they seem to be super unorganized. A handful of people were getting their drinks first even though I had ordered first. Someone who had been waiting for their drink when I got there, got it only a couple minutes after I got my drink. A couple, who had ordered after me who got multiple drinks got it before me. So not too sure what's happening there but even while they are still trying to figure it out their matcha was pretty good! I got a matcha latte, which comes with oat milk as default. Super smooth and the sweetness is just right for me. Not too sweet, but sweet enough to enjoy! Parking in pasadena is usually hard, it's a little bit easier here. There is a lot of street parking and it's right next to PCC but you might have to walk a bit to this place! read more

A new coffee shop that's been taking over my social media and I thought I would give it a try when I was in the area. To be honest, this place disappointed me. I ordered their iced matcha latte and it was clumpy. No matter how much stirring I did, the clumps were still there, which makes me think they don't whisk their matcha using hot water. Their service was amazing. Everyone was so nice and their service remained consistent even as the line continued to grow. There's plenty of seating inside and a couple of tables outside as well. I saw people get some work done and meet up with friends. In my opinion, the music was a little too loud to get work done, but if you have noise cancelling headphones, you should be fine. As they're still new to the area, they were doing a promotion of a free t shirt or mug with each purchase, which I thought was a sweet gesture. Their matcha drinks are made with oat milk by default which I appreciated, but that's something to think about as you order. read more
I'm happy to promote and give starting coffee businesses good vibes. Danbi coffee in Pasadena near PCC appears to be on a roll for recently having opened. In the 20 min that I visited the foot traffic continued nonstop. And still, the space remained calm, spacious enough for working and clean. Now for the drink.... I wanted to try a mocha -- smooth! A couple of notes in the favor: Stumptown beans, chocolate was well incorporated and the presentation was nice. Their menu is varied offering multiple options for coffee and matcha enthusiasts. My personal map of Pasadena coffee spots has improved and I'm glad to know that a great place can be outside of Colorado's main st hub. Thanks, Danbi, for the stainless steel mug :D read more
New coffee shop by Pasadena city college. Came during their soft opening (buy 1 get one 1) Staff is super friendly and sweet. All staff are trained by Stumptown lamb. Syrups and cream are made in house. Ordered the einspanner and butterscotch latte. Butterscotch Latte tasted like chocolate milk to me. Was not much of a fan of the einspanner. Would def come back to try their matcha. Overall space is bright/ light/ spacious. Parking : street parking around. read more
Loved the Matcha Rain! Perfect ratio of milk (oat milk is default) and matcha. Can't wait to try out the other drinks. I also tried the injulmi (mochi) and while the flavor was good, the mochi was a little dried up so it was just so-so. Staffs are friendly and once you clear the line to order, the drinks come out quickly. read more

Finally a great coffee AND matcha spot in Pasadena! Ordered a Matcha Rain (matcha with matcha foam), Strawberry Matcha (matcha with strawberry puree and matcha foam), and an Einspanner (Vienna cream top coffee). All were great, and the matcha particularly had a bold, strong flavor. Drinks are a tad bit smaller (I think 12 oz?) but they had such great flavor that we didn't mind. The interior was very clean and modern, and the service was good. They're newly opened, but we got our drinks on a Saturday afternoon within about 7 minutes. Will definitely come back! read more
We came during their soft opening while they were running their Buy One Get One FREE deal and I definitely took this to try not one but TWO drinks for myself. I also had a couple sips from my friends' drinks too. There's lots of seating inside and it looks pretty trendy and modern. - Injulmi Latte: The latte is made with roasted soybean powder and comes topped with rice mochi. The mochi was chewier than I expected. - Matcha Rain: Loved this! The cream and matcha drink perfection made together. - Butterscotch Latte: Yum!! This was my favorite!! So sweet and creamy! read more
Saw they were offering a buy one get one free deal for their soft opening so I stopped by on my way to work! As a huge fan of orange and coffee, I tried their Orange Mocha and got an Iced Latte as a control to compare. The Iced Latte was great, but I wish I could taste the coffee a little more. If I remember correctly, they used Stumptown Coffee beans, which I have noticed doesn't have a strong flavor when paired with milk when I see it used in other cafes. However, the Orange Mocha was great! Not too sweet, and a nice balance between the orange and chocolate. Will definitely be getting that one again for like a dessert drink! PS. For their regular coffees (latte, americano, etc) they do not offer any sweeteners, at least when I went there read more

Saw this place on TikTok and we came on a Sunday morning and this place was pretty bustling! My sister and I ordered the matcha rain and strawberry matcha rain. We both have sweet tooths but agreed both drinks were on the sweeter side, even for our taste so I sadly didn't finish it :( Drinks are pretty pricey for the small size as well. Interior is cute and clean. Parking seemed to be street only but on the door, they mentioned parking was in the rear read more

If you're looking for a creamy, high-quality matcha just outside Old Town Pasadena, DANBI is a must-try. The space immediately stood out with high ceilings, tons of natural light, and a bright, airy vibe that makes it easy to settle in. I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon to get some work done and grab a caffeine fix, and it ended up being one of my favorite ceremonial-style matchas I've had in Pasadena. (Btw, I found street parking ease-fully on a Tuesday afternoon!) I ordered the Matcha Rain, which is essentially a double matcha: a matcha latte topped with matcha cream and a dusting of matcha powder. I got it with whole milk, so it felt like a treat, but still smooth and balanced. Honestly, I finished it way too fast. Service was warm and welcoming. The gentleman at the register greeted me with a smile, repeated my order to make sure it was right, and even double-checked the spelling of my name .. small detail, but it shows care. For working, this place checks the boxes: plenty of seating, strong Wi-Fi, and a clean restroom. I'd definitely come back for a longer work session or to meet a friend next time I want to try their espresso drinks. read more

They've improved their wait time since I last visited. Very efficient with ordering and my drinks came out in no time! Make sure to order online this place gets pretty crowded. The interior was nice and had plenty of seating but to accommodate for people working/studying. Got the iced americano, coffee einspanner, matcha cloud and the matcha banana. All pretty decent but the coffee einspanner stood out to me the mix of the cream and the coffee was delicious. The matcha flavor was a little light but overall pretty good. Would love to try some other drinks read more
4/5: they were so packed. Waited over 30mins for our drinks and when I went to check someone took our drink so they had to make it again. Initially, ordered coffee rain and einspanner. It was going to take another 30mins for coffee rain so I got matcha rain instead and einspanner. Both were pretty good and creamy. They expedited my drinks after the mix up so I glad we didnt have to wait much longer again. Plenty of street parking. They need better system for when they are busy so drinks dont get mix up and people taking another person's drink. read more

I visited on a chilly Sunday morning and was surprised at how busy the place was. They have a small drink menu which made my choice easy.
