Tucked away on a corner in Pasadena, this small cafe never disappoints. The interior is pretty spacious with plenty of seating when it isn't busy. There's also seating on the patio, as well. They serve a variety of drinks ranging from matcha to coffee to teas. They even have a small section for merchandise. If you're hungry, they even have some pastries or cakes. My go to drink is the matcha rain but you can't go wrong with anything here. I love that their matcha drinks come with oat milk by default.

Been a year since I last reviewed this cafe so thought I'd update it! It's a small cafe located very close to PCC making it a great study or hang out spot! It's open daily 7:30am-5:30pm Parking can be difficult but there is street parking available. Inside is very spacious with a good amount of chairs and tables, as well as power outlets. Pricing is a bit on the higher side so expect to pay $7-$8 for most of their drinks. Really enjoy that they do sugar and ice adjustments, as well as offer complimentary milk substitutions. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Got the Strawberry Matcha Rain ($8) and it had real bits of strawberries on top, as well as on the bottom. The matcha cream top was very thick in consistency so be sure to give it a good stir prior to drinking. The matcha was quite subtle and the drink itself was very creamy. I enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet without any sugar adjustments. I liked how milky and fruity it was but wish it had a bolder matcha taste. Overall, the drinks are pretty good if you don't like such a bold matcha taste and more so a creamy and milky version.
Thought the matcha here was ok. I got the Matcha Rain and the Strawberry Matcha Rain. The Matcha Rain was not bad. I wish the matcha was a bit stronger, and I would've preferred a little more sweetness. Overall, it was ok and a bit bland. The Strawberry Matcha Rain was better, but there was nothing striking about it. I liked the strawberry bits, but it's just your standard strawberry matcha. I would've preferred a stronger matcha taste for this one as well. Overall, drinks are not bad but on the pricier side where each drink costs about $8. The service was great though! I asked the cashier for recommendations and she was super friendly and accommodating. I might come back to try their coffee drinks.

From the moment our order arrived, the vibrant presentation left us even more excited to dig in. **Banana Cream Matcha: 4/5** The Banana Cream Matcha reimagined the classic matcha latte with a decadent twist. Topped with a luscious layer of banana-infused foam and crunchy almond toffee, it offered a satisfying textural contrast, while the housemade banana purée, featuring chunks of real banana, delivered a fresh, naturally sweet flavor. The latte was exceptionally smooth and creamy, but it leaned a bit too milky, causing the matcha's earthy notes to become fairly subdued. It was also slightly sweeter than my preference, making it feel more like a dessert-inspired matcha than a true matcha-forward latte. **Pistachio Croissant: 5/5** This was easily the highlight of our order. The croissant featured an incredibly flaky, crispy exterior that gave way to a light, airy interior with beautiful buttery layers. It was generously filled with a rich, nutty cream that accentuated the pistachio's deep, roasted flavor while maintaining just the right amount of sweetness. I have heard of this place a few times and wanted to try it! Starting off, parking was on the street, so it might be hard to find parking in the busier hours. I came on a Friday afternoon around 1pm and it wasn't busy. They have a lot of matcha drinks so I tried one of their popular ones. I got the manga matcha rain. It was $8 so it was on the pricier side. It had a really great mango taste! The matcha flavor isn't too strong in my opinion, or its a very creamy matcha- so you don't that hint of bitterness that most other places have. Definitely a dessert drink. This is for those who think matcha taste like dirt or grass... they might be pleasantly surprised! I came in and out pretty quickly, and I didn't sit down at the tables so I can't comment on that. For me, I would come here if I was nearby but wouldn't go out of my way to get it probably because of the parking and price.
I stopped by this spot after a local recommended it as having one of the best matchas in Pasadena, and it definitely got me in the spirit to watch the new Minions and Monsters movie tomorrow! The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while. The staff had my drink out almost instantly around 10 AM on a Tuesday, and since I live so close, I'll definitely be back occasionally when I want to spoil myself.
Banana cream is thick. I like the almond stuff they put on top but it might be too sweet for some. Also, I must be blind because i never noticed the desserts on the right side, only the left side with the bakery items like croissants. Street parking if you end up on the one way street, i think they have parking in the back if you make a right at the correct street.
Heard about this place on tiktok but it was very underwhelming. Came here on a Sunday around 12 pm and stood in a short line. We got the mango matcha rain, banana cream matcha, and banana latte. For $7-8 per drink, you get a very SMALL sized cup, I believe it's a 12 oz. Although oat milk is the standard for the matcha drinks, the price for such a small cup was not worth it. For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.
The first time I came here, I ordered their einspanner and personally thought it was too milky for my liking. When I came back, I wanted to try something different! Service is always extremely friendly and attentive, and there is ample free street parking which is a huge plus in Pasadena! - Matcha Rain (8/10) - high quality matcha, not too bitter with the right amount of sweetness - Banana Cream Latte (9/10) - one of the only banana lattes I've had where I can clearly taste the fresh ripe banana used in the cream. I got an extra shot to offset the milkiness and it was perfect for me. The almond toffee sprinkled on top added a crunch that I didn't know I needed! - Dubai Crown Pastry (8/10) - sweet, rich, with very distinct layers; gorgeous presentation!!! - Ham & Cheese Croissant (6/10) - pretty standard
A hidden gem on green street. Dan I means Sweet Rain in Korean. They have good drink menu, desserts, snacks, pastries and teas you can purchase. Great flow of traffic walking distance near Pasadena City College. I ordered matcha lattee with banana foam topped with toffee almond crumbles. I appreciated that all their drinks come with oat milk as the default and service was really quick and efficient with the drinks but thought the oat milk really overpowered the matcha rain... There's a parking lot behind and also street parking!
One of the best matcha spots in Pasadena! Their matcha rain & banana cream matcha are both amazing & have a strong matcha flavor. There was no line on a Saturday around noon, & the drinks came out fairly quick. The decor/ambiance could use some work, as it is not a place I would want to stick around & chill at. This might be my new favorite spot to get coffee or tea. My bf and I walked here so not sure the parking situation but it's located in a pretty quiet part of Green St more of east of old town Pasadena. I've been on a banana matcha kick and this place was one of the only ones that had it. My bf got the einspanner and I have to say both drinks were 10/10! The banana matcha is a bit pricey at $8 for the size but the quality is there and they don't charge extra for milk substitutions. I went again and got the banana cream latte which was also good but I prefer it with matcha. Lots of toffee bits as well which is a nice texture contrast and sweetness to it. The employees are always very friendly and there's a cute display case with fancy desserts. I like the interior it's spacious and there's comfy mushroom looking chairs to sit and wait for your drink too. I'll be back for sure! read more

I've been here multiple times and somehow it just keeps getting better every visit. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I'm addicted to their banana cream drinks. Whether it's coffee or matcha, you really can't go wrong. They're both INSANELY good. The espresso/matcha base is strong and bold, which perfectly balances the thick, sweet banana cream foam. The crunchy taffy-like nut bits on top take it to another level and make the drink feel extra special. The strawberry matcha rain was also beautiful. Delicious, scrumptious, and made exactly how I like it. The strawberry syrup wasn't too sweet, and the matcha (as usual) was strong and perfectly balanced. The Einspanner latte is solid, though pretty standard compared to other places. Pastry-wise, I've only tried the tomato basil croissant and WOW. Super filling, flaky, buttery, and the tomatoes literally burst with subtle sweetness that pairs so well with the pesto. Even though they're always super busy, the service is consistently top-notch. Every staff member I've encountered has been welcoming and friendly. Parking is also easy as there's a lot in the back, plus convenient street parking. Highly recommend!!! read more
This coffee house is stark white and very clean and modern looking. The employees were very friendly. They have most of your normal coffee drinks but also some different ones, like the Einspanner and some interesting matchas. I cannot really explain the Einspanner other than it is a "Viennese" coffee and it has a sweet foam. I thought it was great. They don't have a ton of baked goods behind the front counter but the ones we tried (ham and cheese croissant and an almond twist) were very nice. Don't miss the absolutely stunning pastries in the glass case behind and to the right of the counter. They are literally works of edible art. In terms of atmosphere, I personally prefer a less modern look to my coffee houses but for quality and friendliness, I have no complaints. This is very good stuff. read more
My favorite drink here is the banana cream matcha and my gf loves her strawberry matcha rain from here. Outside of the building gives very early 2000s kdrama vibes. Interior is actually very nice especially for a study spot since they have lots of seating. There's also lots of free public street parking which I appreciated. Service was nice and relatively fast with the coffee. Banana cream matcha was very delicious and went so well with the almond toffee! Strawberry matcha was also amazing and wasn't overly sweet with the jam which I liked. Definitely coming again. read more
The danish was super flavorful and flaky. The tomato paired super well with the pesto. I also found both drinks really good especially the banana cream matcha. It is the perfect balance between banana and matcha and the crunch from the topping adds a great texture. Service was incredible and all the staff were super nice and helpful with questions. They doin it different here!! The best banana matcha latte I've tasted. Actual mashed banana in the cold foam with toffee almonds. My only complaint is I want it in a 32oz cup!! Creamy not too sweet and very high quality. Also got a matcha rain latte with matcha cold foam. Equally delicious. Sweet staff, they have some cute treats too but I didn't try any. read more
I came back to Danbi since I really loved the flavor of the matcha! This time I got the Banana Cream Matcha and I will say this is one of my favorites! The pairing of this is so good I crave it all the time! Service is great! They're always very nice and will answer any questions you may have. Finally got the chance to try out Danbi and I'm glad it's now available closer to the area versus driving into LA. The location is close to PCC, which is nice for students to be able to walk to. There are no parking lots but plenty of street parking near the area. We came on a rainy day thinking it wouldn't be as busy, but to our surprise, it was full of people! The line gets pretty long, so be prepared to wait a bit to order and also get your drink. They are known for their Matcha and coffee, but also have a selection of teas that are from Korea (brand: Our Tea). There are quite a few seats inside if you are looking for a place to study. We ordered their matcha rain which is a combo of matcha cream and matcha latte. Unlike most other places, the drinks aren't as sweet which is nice. We also got a hot tea which was perfectly sweetened. A nice addition to the Pasadena area that I will definitely visit again! read more

Very cute spot in Pasadena! Inside they have merch and very aesthetic decor for the youth. Matcha rain had a salty taste to it, honestly not my favorite since I prefer a sweet matcha like Rōk or Community Goods so I get their different take on it. However the salty cream does work with the coffee! It goes well. Service felt a little slow especially for a not so busy day since they only had two people working. I will be back for different coffee drinks. read more
Loved this place!! Located right around the corner of PCC this coffee shop is busy busy busy. We weren't surprised to see how busy it was, but we were surprised at how fast and great the service was! There's street parking, I didn't see a parking lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating (plenty of it). Their menu is small, but honestly sometimes too much can be overwhelming. As soon as you walk in you get greeted by the baristas. The line was a little long when we got there, but it went by quick. We also got our order pretty quickly. I ordered the einspänner & let me tell you....10/10. Espresso was on point, tasted great! The cream....OMG, Amazing!! I enjoyed every sip of it. I was a little sad because the cup is small, but it was sooooo yummy! I can't wait to go back & also to try the coffee rain. My bf ordered the matcha rain, he also thought it was too small & less ice would be better. But other than that he enjoyed it. It was ceremonial grade, we made sure before going. I've been driving by this place and have always seen a crowd outside so I finally decided to stop in. The place is clean and spacious, with lots of tables to hang out or get some work done. I got the banana latte which sounded weird to me at first but ended up being delicious. They use real banana and it's not too sweet. The addition of toffee nuts gave the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness. Super easy parking on the street, or behind the building. read more

I decided to check this cafe out since it went viral on tiktok & it definitely didn't disappoint! it was quite busy on a sunday afternoon & i waited in line for about 20 minutes before ordering my drink. there isn't much seating available and there was even less since it was a sunday. i managed to grab a table in a corner but was disappointed to find that there were no accessible outlets. the wi-fi worked very well though. i ordered the matcha with cream top & it was one of the best matcha cream tops i've had in LA. the matcha had a rich, umami taste & the cream top was perfectly sweetened, which balanced out the flavors of the matcha. i would highly recommend this to others and my friends, but it isn't an ideal study/work cafe. read more

I love that this place is open later than usual for coffee shops. It was a great post late lunch treat. Street parking was easy on a Sunday. It's near Pasadena City College. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Place is clean and bright. There was definitely a line when we walked in but the line moved pretty quickly. I will say, the place was LOUD. I don't know if that's the usual sound level here or maybe there was just a lot of people this day and that's just what happens when there's too many people. Either way, for this reason, I wouldn't say it's an ideal work spot, unless you bring in headphones and can study/work this way. We ended up ordering a few iced lattes. It didn't take long for them to call out our order. The drinks seem on the smaller side but honestly it was good and just enough. Prices are reasonable. I was so satisfied with my latte and the workers were friendly. It seems they do have a few displays for pastries but when we were there, most of them were gone so probably have to come in earlier for the pastries. Also, I noted that plenty of people were ordering the matcha drinks. It gave me a little bit of FOMO, but now I know what to order for next time. read more
Finally, a high quality matcha spot in Pasadena that isn't watered down or super bitter. All the matcha drinks are oat milk unless you change to another milk. This is convenient for all my lactose intolerant peeps, but note that the cream top does have dairy. They also serve stump town coffee, though the latte I tried tasted a bit watered down. There wasn't enough coffee. The line was moderately long on a Saturday around noon and took about 20 minutes from walking in to get my drink. A weekend vacation to Pasadena included a visit to a cafe that serves double matcha or something similar. Matcha is a must for me when traveling to a different city. The interior was spacious and good for studying given its quiet atmosphere. Matcha Rain | Ordered this with almond milk and unsweetened. The matcha cream topping provided just the right amount of creaminess with a hint of sweetness. Oat milk was the default. Without the cream top, matcha powder used was on the bitter side, but still above average compared to similar establishment that served double matcha. Americano | It tasted like a typical americano as expected. Ordered the coffee hot; however, it was served more on the lukewarm side. Menu: Coffee and matcha were served along with desserts. Service: The barista was a bit dull, but knowledgeable of the menu. It's definitely a work in progress with training the staff to be more welcoming and greet guests since the cafe recently opened. Parking: Plenty of free parking in the back lot of the building where the fast food is located at or on the side of the street. read more

I actually found this spot through an Instagram ad, and what really caught my eye was their banana cream matcha. It looked so good I had to go in person to try it. The shop itself is really spacious and clean, and I loved that they had videos playing of them making their special drinks--it added to the vibe. Now, the drink... it honestly exceeded my expectations. I finished it in just a few minutes because it was that good. The banana cream with the matcha was such a perfect combo--not overly sweet, just balanced and super addicting. Hands down the best matcha cream I've ever had. I went here twice, 5 days in between. They only had 2 options for hot lattes. That is what I was told on my first visit. So, I ordered the honey latte with almond milk. I ordered decaf, and it was very robust, but I can't say full of flavor, just robust. Now, that's different for decaf, but it was acceptable. Once I added 2 honey packets that are conveniently left on the counter, along with sugar, it tasted just fine. I finished it. The presentation was good, and the temperature was spot on. On the other hand, my second visit was blah. I ordered the same thing, but it was completely off. It was very bitter, and not pleasant to taste. The Barista, apologized at the presentation, regarding whatever was going on at the top of my drink, as the cream based, (which should've been) design, dissipated as she grabbed a top in an attempt to cover it quickly. Yes, aesthetics matter to ME. She said, "I'm sorry, it's not pretty, almond mild is hard to get right." "Girl what, is it hard to fill it to the rim too? " That's what I thought to myself as I let off a little chuckle, thanked her and proceeded to walk away. The pictures of my latte on visit #2 is the exact portion size that I was served. I knew that I was only going to take a few sips, so I waited until I got back to my office to take the top off and take pictures. Miss me on inconsistencies, Danbi Coffee, I'm sorry. Also, on my second visit, the young lady at the register did explain to me that I could in fact choose a different menu item as a latte, but, I needed to request the cream that they offered to be on the side, explaining why. Good customer service on her part. Anyway, will I go a third time? I'm not really sure. If I do, I will update this review immediately IF I have a better experience. It's a really nice café. Danbi is the best matcha cream drink in the SGV. I've tried everything in the area and still nothing beats Danbi. I love the matcha rain with whole milk, which consists of matcha latte topped with matcha cream. I'd say it's their version of Stagger's double matcha drink. It's so creamy, perfectly sweetened, but with a strong flavor of matcha coming through. It's perfect when you're feeling a little sweet treat :) read more
This coffee shop is located on the corner of the block. It's spacious and has really good lighting inside to study and/or work. They offer free wifi. I really enjoyed their injulmi mochi latte and matcha rain. The injulmi, or korean rice mochi, was fresh and chewy. They give you 3 mochi on a bamboo stick, and I dipped them into the coffee before eating. I also had their banana cream matcha (being viral on social media right now), and didn't enjoy it as much. read more

Visited here on a Sunday afternoon and this place is completely filled already. All tables were occupied with people studying, working, chatting, etc. Although, it's pretty noisy here I wouldn't really come here to study unless have earphones on lol. I do like how the space is very well lit by natural sunlight, so I think that makes the space feel even better! Everyone here of course is getting a matcha. I got the matcha rain, and they were pretty quick with service. This definitely reminds me of all the Korean coffee shops in Koreatown, but located in Pasadena! Parking isn't too fantastic here, but it's all street parking. At least street parking as very accessible here. The drink came out to be about 8.50 ish (with tax), so it is pricey... but honestly matcha is getting more expensive these days due to tariffs. First sip of the drink, honestly I thought it was really good! The matcha foam on top was really tasty, and matcha drink itself was really good. I would say the cup is pretty small for the price, also that the fact the drink has a lot of ice in it... The drink itself is really good, but the for cost and size of it, it feels like you kinda get jipped lol. Again, the drink is good! If I feel like splurging and visiting somewhere close to get a matcha drink, I would definitely revisit. The price is a bit steep though, so will see when I compare to more matcha shops haha. read more

Danbi Coffee is easily one of the best cafés I've visited in Pasadena. As a matcha lover, I was impressed by the quality and flavor of their matcha drinks--smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. Their dessert selection is just as impressive. The mango mousse and raspberry mousse were light, fresh, and full of flavor. One standout was their Ferrero-inspired chocolate dessert, which featured a rich hazelnut mousse filling and was beautifully presented. The freshly baked croissants were warm, flaky, buttery, and definitely worth trying. The café is clean, welcoming, and offers a great variety of coffee, matcha, pastries, and desserts. Staff is very friendly and helpful and are on top of everything.They get the orders out , really quick. Overall, a 10/10 experience, and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Pasadena. read more

Danbi is pasadenas new matcha store! Happy to see a matcha latte focused store here. This place is great for working and a thing up with friend although it is quite busy most days and a bit loud. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. MATCHA RAIN (7/10): the matcha taste isn't super strong but it is creamy and the cream top is delicious! I recommend that you get this drink half sweet INJEOLMI MOCHI LATTE (8/10): happy to see that they have an injeolmi drink here that stands out from other drink stores. Had super high hopes cause we heard good things about this place, but we thought the matcha was just okay. The cream top is different from others I've had, but I can't really pinpoint how it's different. Perhaps a different sweetener or cream base, but either way, the matcha flavor was barely present in the cream. The latte itself was better. Not as rich as I prefer, but definitely stronger than many places where matcha just tastes like flavored milk. Drinks come with oat milk. However, ktown cafes such as stagger or rok still will be my go-to. Service was super quick. The drinks are very cute and there's lots of seating inside. There are pastries as well. read more

I had my doubts about this place at first because the banana cream matcha was way too thick, but I do appreciate that they use real banana in it. I decided to give it another try, and I am really glad I did. Their Einspänner is amazing, and I will definitely be coming back for that. The best matcha cafe in the 626! Before Danbi opened, I used to drive to LA or OC for a good matcha einspanner. Thank goodness a good matcha spot opened in the SGV. The cream top of the einspanner really brings together the drink. The employees here are so sweet and helpful. I accidentally spilled my drink all over my laptop keyboard and they rushed to help me clean everything up, even though the line to order was super long. Shoutout to the employees here!! :) There are tables to study and hang out, but it gets really loud during the day time.
