I love that EVERYTHING is $1.50. I got out of this place with SO MUCH STUFF! It was amazeballs. I got bowls, chopsticks, cleaning supplies, veggie peelers, bento accessories... all for less than $20! The store is initially overwhelming, being very busy and very pink. Plan to be in here for a while as its really a treasure hunt. Also, its a great lpace to find small knick knacks that you would get at a Wal Mart or 99 Cent Store, but Daiso is better quality. read more

Love this store! Everything is $1.50 except for specially marked items. The great thing about this dollar store is that you can find much higher quality items than at your typical dollar store. I love their beauty products, craft section, and organization section. I could spend hours in the store looking through everything. DON'T BUY TOYS HERE!!! Their toys break even before you try. My son picked up a foam airplane and it broke before he even had a chance to try. My girl pucked a fishing toy, when she lifted the fishing pole the thread already broke. Never had chance to play and wasted 3 dollars plus tax. Everything else seems worth about a dollar. I felt sorry to this store when I stepped into the store on Sat. Where is the crowd they had few months ago when they first open?? After treated rudely by a male employee with a black apron, I left the store right away with my shopping basket behind and telling myself no way I will be back. I am always excited to go to this store and it sometimes gets a little overwhelming because everything is $1.50, everything is so cute and everything could be so useful (though I don't really need it). I think this store is a perfect place if you want to get the very basics of moving into a new place or want to get little gifts for someone. So so so freaking happy when they first opened this Daiso! Whenever I go back home to NorCal, I always make sure I stop by Daiso so I can stock up on fake eyelashes and cotton pads! I discovered this place in Japan Town San Francisco, and a little bit later I found out that they were opening a new location in Irvine! Every time I go, I end up buying something. The parking lot for this plaza reminds me of Walmart... Always a game of dodge the Toyota or Lexus coming at you at 25 mph. This is the best dollar store by far though and they have a great craft supply selection. There's a $10 minimum when using a credit card and no limit for debit. The separate lines for cash and card customers seems kind of unnecessary and more tedious than helpful IMO. Still my go to place for household things though! This place is like target... You come for a couple things you need but end up coming home with bags around both arms. read more

Daiso, how I love thee... Let me count the ways... I have found everything from tiffany blue scissors to rainbow hatboxes, from felting craft materials to pink glue guns, from eyelashes and glue to high quality super sharp (pink) sushi knives, from thigh high furry socks to baby pink knitted booty shorts, from sets of 10 colored gel pens to pink gardening tools, from all of the colorful stacking shelves that are organizing the shoes in my closet to mirrored cosmetic trays -- all those things and more for $1.50 each. This place is pretty cool! It's pretty much a 99cent store instead most of the stuff is a $1.99. They have many home necessities, which are of good quality. The only sucky part would be that there candy section should be bigger!! I wish they would carry green tea kitkats!! read more

I've been wanting to try this place since its grand opening a few weeks ago and finally had the chance to come here today. Monday late afternoon, not packed at all and didn't have to wait in line for the cashier. Score! Store's new and very clean, but I saw a number of shelves that needed major restocking. I'm sure people have been bombarding the place to pick up bargains, so fairly understandable. Other than that, I'm stoked that Daiso has ventured it's way into Irvine. The store carries a variety of items for $1.50 unless otherwise marked. So don't come into find anything of high high quality. The store offers a lot of household items like plates, cups, container boxes, baking necessities, etc. They also carry an entire aisle of cheap hair & beauty products which I enjoyed. Those who aren't familiar with Asian beauty products like double eyelid stickers, faceball roller, and etc, you are in for a surprise. And most importantly, they have a pretty vast selection of Japanese candy! Walked in pretty hyped about the place and walked about a satisfied customer eager to try her new faceball roller. Definitely not an everyday shopping place, but its interesting selection of products will have me coming back! read more

T and I stumbled upon Daiso when we walked around after dinner. It was a pleasant surprise. We both love this place now! It also feels like being back in Asia. They have such a huge variety of items, there's a good chance you'll find what you're looking for. Food, makeup/skin care products, kitchen stuff, socks, school supplies, cleaning supplies, laundry bags, and the list goes on! How fun to have a fun store in Irvine! Love all the cute Japanese stuff from cups, sponges, to stationary and oil pastels. Fun place to take your kid to get cute stuff at a cheap price! Notebooks, cute panda stuff, pink! pink! pink! everywhere. Now the check-out is pretty slow. Maybe because it was on a weekday early afternoon. And you also have the "manager" with a very serious face watching all the cashiers ring you up. Talk about micro-management! But employees are very friendly. YES! I love Daiso!!! I've been looking for a Japanese style dollar store and finally found it here. While it's not exactly a dollar but they have a very decent selection of household items. I got 7 items for $10 and they're exactly what I want. Stuff like the small squeegee that I can't find in regular stores and cheap laundry bags. They also have clever little things like a gyoza making kit (though I'd rather buy ready made gyozas). Minimum $10 purchase for credit cards. read more

It's like the 99cent store of Japan! But it's $1.50! Practically 99% of the items they have in the store are $1.50 unless marked otherwise. Most expensive item I saw was was $7 so still VERY cheap. Also, the store walls are PINK! Pink walls + $1.50 = happy customers. Well, me anyway. Some of the snacks are more expensive compared to other stores but honestly, you are so wrapped up that everything is $1.50 that you think that candy is cheaper. Mind trick! Though IT IS a great place to stock up on kitchen things like plates, bowls, cups, etc. I think it's my favorite section. I wanted to buy so many things but I didnt need them. Beware. Even though this is a japanese 1.50 cent store the items are not all made in japan. The quality of the item are much better than your average 99 cent store. It's a fun store to browse around. They have a variety of japanese snacks, stationery, clay, cups, bento boxes. The bento boxes were only 1.50! I bought a bento box at Marukai and it was 10 dollars. Anyway, if you were searching up this store to look for squishies. The last time I checked they didn't have any squishies. I was disappointed to. :( read more

LOVED this place! From the moment I entered I felt like a kid in a candy store, not knowing where to start looking because everything looked so interesting, & for a dollar & fifty cents for most items, I felt like I wanted to buy everything. I only had 1/2 hour to shop, but I think I did pretty good. I bought face rollers, shoe deodorizers, pretty Japanese eyeglass cases, mesh travel bags in two sizes, purse holders, potpourri, cute shower caps, kiddie wash sponges & cat toys - all for $50 & I left with a HUGE bag. I would've bought more if I had more time...or more space in my suitcase. Can't wait to go back again! Oh & FYI, they have separate lines for cash paying & debit/credit cards. I occasionally stop by Daiso during my 2hour break in between classes and I don't know if I should be glad or sad that I can pass so much time in this store. There's so much stuff to look at they sell things from socks, to car supplies, to snacks it's a one stop shop and everything is fairly cheap too (price and unfortunately quality). Nevertheless I always end up walking out with a purchase and maybe that's a bad thing, but I get sucked into those Asian knick knacks that I have no idea what they're for and the directions are all in Japanese but it just looks so useful and trick myself into thinking I need it lol.
