I love any store that starts with a cute little mini sample so walking in to see the little coffee/tea kiosk always just warms my heart every time. World Market truly has everything and is the best place to go if you're looking for seasonal goodies or glassware. Walking around this store is the little boost of serotonin we all need right now. I love looking at their seasonal coffee syrup samplers in particular. This location in particular is always kept very clean and organized and the staff are super friendly, offering assistance as we walk around. I have not been in a store since the Orange location closed. Nice to see there is still some open and the quality is still outstanding. I have purchased many furniture items from here and international foods and wines. It's a neat store to come in and find things you never knew you wanted to taste or have. While the locations vary in size, there are unique features too, as well as variations in what items are stocked. This is one of the smaller footprints I've seen but they've done a good job keeping it from feeling too claustrophobic and cramped. In particular, I loved the furniture display that showed off the different sizes, color choices, as well as texture choices for the pillow pads. I saw some things I never noticed at the Redlands store. Wandering around there's always a little sameness in snacks and stuff in the ethnic food section. Lately the company is showcasing Spanish tapas charcuterie and related products. I didn't see as much Italian food items but the Asian area was pretty well represented ;) It was a late afternoon on the weekend so I suspect that the emptier than usual shelves in some areas may be attributable to that. I picked up a risotto spoon for a buddy and a couple snacks and gadgets. Cashier was friendly although only one was working at that time. I hadn't really wandered around this side of the marketplace before. For reference, Barnes and Noble is nearby as is Amazon Fresh. read more

I waited over 30 minutes for my curbside order. Someone came out 10 mins in to ask for my last name and said they didn't have it even though it's already on the check-in form online saying. She seemed pretty annoyed from the get go. She came out again without my order saying she can't find it- doubting if I got the email online saying it was "ready for pick up." I'm just confused why she would ask that because how I would I be able to check in that I'm here for pick up through their system if it wasn't ready? But I still pulled up my email to share with her information she already knows because I just want my order! After 30 minutes, I went into the store to inquire and she said she found it but it was hard to find. I told her, you should probably find a better system because it's not convenient for a person to wait in their car this long for an order. No apologies for my inconvenience or acknowledging their was a flaw in their pick up system...just a "you should be nicer" as I'm leaving.. The audacity- take your own advice. This employee is SO RUDE. She must have been having a bad day because from our very first interaction, she had a bad attitude. Great place to buy amazing house decor, international snacks and even unique gifts. They also have cool games like find the golden nome/llama, where you are rewarded a gift card to spend in the store. I personally love their Spanish Paella Rice and charcuterie items for the holidays. They usually have a good selections of wines and spirits. Unfortunately I have to give this World Market a low rating due to the problems I have recently encountered. Two weeks ago I went there in hopes to buy their seasonal Marzipan for holiday baking, but opt out because, since the batch was at the bottom shelf, several bars of Marzipan were apparently eaten by rodents. I addressed the issue to one of their staff members. They removed the batch off the floor immediately. So I decided to come back two weeks later to see if there was an untampered batch relocated to a better area. Unfortunately it was in the same area and I could clearly see that one of the Marzipan bars was eaten through the plastic wrap. There was nothing else there I wanted to buy. They used to sell a lovely rose water, but discontinued it for no reason. Instead they sell strange stuff now, such as, fried crickets in a test tube for $5.99. I don't get it. To add to the list of disappointments, their bathroom toilets could use better maintenance too. Hope their staff will read this and fix these unpleasant issues. read more

I have been coming here for years and I always find new interesting things every time I come here. This store is always tidy and things are easy to find. However, it is always hard to find prices! Also, it is hard to find staff that is available to tell you the prices. Most of the time it is OK to take the product up to the front but if you have a lot of items it isn't the best way to find out prices. They also need to remove or discard items that were previously opened by other customers. One of the good things about being a Cost Plus World Market member is that you can get additional coupons. We love World Market. Some of our favorite glassware and bakeware from World Market has held out really well this past year. The prices are very reasonable and the items are one of a kind. This location in particular was pretty good. Our favorite is still the El Segundo location but this one was not too bad. We were able to pick up some spices and coffee beans on our last trip here. Our pug came along and had a really great time here as well. Staff is very sweet and friendly towards our little guy. Overall had a great time here. Can't wait to come back to restock on some of our favorite spices, coffee goods, and kitchenware. read more

I love coming here literally every week to shop but today was terrible. I went in to order some patio furniture that was on sale. I had to chase down this guy for 20 min to try to help me as he kept turning away from me and pretending not to hear me. He sounded angry that i was finally able to approach him to ask him a question. After checking the items to see what they had, he had the manager come over to see if I could take the floor model. She said unfortunately it would need to be ordered online and sent to the store. She said Kevin (the guy who "loves" working there) would be able to help me with that or I can go home and do it. I said prefect, I'll do it now. As soon as she left, Kevin turned around and went off to God knows where. I sat there for another 15 min. I ended up going online to order it and it said it COULDN'T be shipped to the Irvine store but it could be shipped to my house for an additional $110! I'm sure if Kevin would have helped me it would have been taken care of correctly. The sale ends tonight and they just lost out on a $900 purchase and more because I won't be coming back. read more

After a quick call into the store while in the area to find out if they had what I was looking for, I stopped in to purchase some Christmas cookies and unusual snacks. After coming in, I forgot about what a great selection of ornaments, children's stocking stuffers and small toys, and Christmas items in general. Prices for imported food items tend to be less than traditional supermarkets and often times Cost Plus delivers on finding the unusual. My newest find "tarrali Italian crackers"...they had them! I discovered this addictive Italian cracker made by a company called "Terre di Puglia" on a plane trip to Europe. Unfortunately, the brand I tired on the airplane was on their web site, but not in store. The brand in store was good but not as good as the first brand I've tried. Other La Panzanella crackers I've seen for $5.99 and $6.99 at markets were selling for $3.99 here. Check the dates though, some of the Italian crackers had an expiration of 12/2018...I had to notify the cashier and run back to get more of the later dated crackers. In the past we have found reliable and well made tables and desks, mirrors, Italian serving platters, glassware, just the variety of unique items this store is known for. read more

Pretty good stock and experience when I've shopped here before! However I had a terrible experience for online pick up. Albeit, I should have shown up earlier, but I arrived at 5:57, struggled to dial the number in the email because the email doesn't allow you to call directly. You have to enter the number manually. So I was fumbling around trying to enter the number because you have to memorize it in the email and then call. I gave up trying to dial in and just went to the front door, it was 6:01. I tried to explain the situation to an employee(elder white man) and was very cordial! Instead he just interrupted me and said "I saw you pull up your car, but you're too late. We open at 10." And then proceeded to close the door. Such a jarring experience! Please have some kindness and show grace. I knew I was in the wrong, but please be nicer to customers. Thank you! read more

I got this new hanging chair that was discounted, and it was a mission for them both to make sure I was able to get the discount but they worked hard and were patient and were able to get it for me!! At the time they didn't have any chair cushions but I was fine going to a different store. I was in my car But then Melinda went to the extent of calling me and leaving me a voicemail to let me know they do have the specific cushions in stock and even put one on hold for me!!!! Staff is always friendly and always happy to assist. But, let me tell you about WENDY! She's the lovely lady at the register. I got a discount on an item that I purchased, not knowing it was on sale. ***Look Honey, I saved us money! *** :)) But, that's not all! I knew I was member, but really...what does that mean? I was so excited I wanted to purchase more items, but was running short on time. World Market has already been a gem of a store, with fun and unique finds. Unfortunately, customer service is awful at this Irvine location; specifically, the assistant manager who was working Saturday morning on 2/17/24 (as a courtesy, I will leave his name off this review). His 40 years of claimed corporate experience taught him little about what matters most in retail - the customer. Came in for an email advertised sale, and he behaves as if I came into his house trying to steal from him when I ask he honor the advertised sale. World Market needs to be careful and mindful of deceptive advertising practices before they have an unfair competition lawsuit on their hands. Continuing with the customer service at this store, there is a male cashier that works there that is unfriendly, off putting, and acts like doing his job is an inconvenience. Any one who works in retail and the service industry ought to know they are serving people - be friendly; it's not a favor to patrons, it's in the job description! Covid-19 Review: Found some hair masks online that were sold out every where else and randomly, Cost Plus World Market had them! I enjoyed frequenting this store and was happy they carried a product I wanted. I placed my order online after hours, and it was ready right when they opened for curbside pickup. There are no designated spaces, so I called when I arrived and Tanya picked up and told me I could pull right in front of the store. Current offer is 10% for all curbside orders, which is a nice bonus. The store is not actually open, so it's only curbside or delivery from the website right now. Tanya came out about 30 seconds after she hung up and dropped the bag onto my passenger seat. Easy peasy! read more

I was overwhelmed on my first visit. It seems like they have a little of everything. As it was nearing the holiday season there were many shelves and racks of Christmas novelties and decorations. They have sections for kitchen items, furniture, home accessories, rugs, food (many snacks & candies), wine & beer and some areas that seem to be completely random with everything from globes to cookie jars. On this particular day there were a couple of tasting stations. One was offering samples of basil & olive oil potato chips and also ginger cookies with nutella. Another station was offering tastes of three different types of wine. Prices on items seem to be reasonable but I didn't see any prices that I thought were exceptional deals (except on a few of their wines). I walked out with a large tin of ginger cookies, some funky-crazy toys and a couple of kitchen items. They offer an "Explorer Rewards" program that gets you discounts on future shopping and coupons sent to your email. Customer service was exceptional. I was asked several times if I needed help finding anything. The folks at the sample stations were very cheerful and informative. And I appreciated the dry sense of humor of one employee who approached me as I was looking at a globe and told me "That's a special globe. It actually has every single country in the world on it." Love me some Cost Plus! I could spend hours in this store. This location is pretty convenient for me, and it's located near many other stores I frequent. Parking is pretty easy on this side of the Marketplace too. I was in here Christmas shopping, and I found lots of fun items. Including sloth gift wrap and gift bags - very cute! They have a pretty decent selection of beer and wine for reasonable prices. And interesting food items from around the world. Lots of items were on sale too! For the items that weren't... As I was checking out, I asked the cashier if there were any current coupons, and she patiently showed me how to sign up for text messages, and I instantly got a 15% off coupon via text, which she applied. I used to visit World Market a lot more frequently, but haven't been for at least 2 years. I popped in to see if they had any yummy British goodies that I could stock up on over the festive period. I didn't see any mince pies, or Christmas pud, but they have beans, and tomato soup. Not that exciting. Overall, this shop is fun and has lots of random bits and pieces. They sell a variety of things, from powdered mustard to bed frames, soap to lights. They have a bit of everything. read more

I love this store! The selection's are great. I go here every couple of weeks to see the new items. I usually purchase their pasta's and spices. I cook various things so I like looking through their cooking utensils and pans but also through their food items that you might not find at a general supermarket. First off, customer service here is always top notch. Granted, the only employee you may interact with is your cashier but 100% of the time I've never had a cashier who looked bored or angry. They all have such great attitudes--keeps me coming back! As for merchandise, you can always find something new (very TJ Maxx vibe) with fair prices and quirky trinkets everywhere. Love the international food section, and this place is definitely my go-to store for gifts; can always put together a fun basket for $20 that is always a hit. Love Cost Plus, but this store's customer service not so much. Placed a curbside pick-up order early June that I never picked up. Called to find out about refund twice - they had marked the order as picked-up. Frustrating the manager gave me attitude before listening to me and I felt like I had to convince both him and the first associate I spoke with that I hadn't stolen the order, when it was their error. Are they checking IDs when items get picked up? Looks like someone else had a similar issue in mid-June if you look at reviews. read more

Let it be known that I've never bought anything from any Cost Plus location, but that doesn't mean you won't find something you'd like or need. I really enjoy walking around Cost Plus. The inventory is interesting and diverse. The store is clean. The associates are friendly and attentive but not pushy. This store is fairly large with plenty of things to look at and it's all kept pretty orderly. Granted the prices are more than a little bit higher than other places, it is nice to find all these things in one place (Total Wine is across Jamboree and you'll find the wines and beers over there for less). The furniture is interesting and mostly good quality, but pricey. Then again, I don't come here for furniture (FYI, there's a Cost Plus consignment store just next to Barnes and Noble that features mainly furniture though oddly about 70% of it is Chinese themed because the owner is Chinese and she brought a lot of the inventory from China). Anywho, the people who work here have always been friendly and they keep an eye on you in case you start looking around for someone to answer a question. Parking is easy and you're right next to a Bed Bath & Beyond in case you have a 20% coupon for an item you might be able to find at a lower price. Just saying.
