I was running out of body gel wash, so I dropped in. They did not have my recent fave citrus orange scented from Italy, but I found Luseta citrus and a lavender that sniffed nicely. The men's hair styling products was decent, but it was mostly bulk of the same ones versus more variety. I prefer shine pomades, but I found a Belmont "bourbon and oak" high hold that was at a nice price. Similar to most TJ Maxx (other than the South Coast/Santa Ana location) they have a great system and a quick moving line. read more

I genuinely cannot believe I'm writing this, but here we are: the comforter I bought from TJ Maxx smelled like actual pee and had these yellow stains. Not "kind of weird," not "factory smell," but full-on someone absolutely urinated on this vibes. I didn't notice until I got home, unfolded it, and was immediately hit with a stench that can only be described as "gas station bathroom meets neglected hamster cage." Who approved this?? How does something like this even make it onto a shelf? Who touched this and said "yeah, put it on the shelf"? Was this a return? A dog's emotional support blanket? Evidence from a court case?? I have QUESTIONS and ZERO answers. I did not drive to TJ Maxx to buy discounted urine. I wanted cozy. I wanted soft. Instead I got a lingering stench that now lives rent-free in my nostrils. Not the biggest fan of this location. They have some decent merch but they overstock every single shelf during holiday season. It's so overwhelming. Recently I went in and accidentally pushed a glass vase with a faux floral arrangement. It fell off the shelf and as people stared at me in disbelief, I noticed one of the employees walking towards me visibly upset. I apologized sincerely but you could tell she was bothered. So annoying considering it wouldn't have occurred if the tables were a little more spread out and less merch sticking off the sides of the tables. Didn't really find much other than a Juicy bag I'd been looking for but it seemed to be the last one. read more

Exceptional customer service at this TJ Maxx! I actually drive 20min south to go to this one, better selection, roomier, cleaner and great value! Today definitely made my day, I was stressed with finding some items and Reyna helped me out twice with no hesitation and with plenty enthusiasm. WORST experience today. Trying to pick a purse. The machine to notify the staff doesn't work. So stood there forever thinking someone was going to come. When they finally did they rushed me to decide which purse I want and said "I have other customers to help I can't keep helping u" I said "I'm trying to decide between these two bags" Then she left to go back to the register and after 5 mins I found another purse I wanted to see but had to wait again for someone to come. Really ruined my experience. I shouldn't be inconvenienced or rushed bc there isn't enough staff to help with customers that want to try on different purses. THEN when I came to checkout, 3 staff members were just talking and laughing behind the register while there is a line. Makes zero sense to me. I bought two bags but I won't come back here. They have great prices but my complaint was with the checkout people. They kept pushing for me to apply for a credit card. I told them that I didn't think I should do it because I'm not interested in the hard inquiry. They pretty much lied and said that it would not be a hard inquiry, only a soft inquiry and after I asked them to verify that it would indeed be a soft inquiry. The manager said for sure it would be a soft inquiry. So I went ahead and applied and lo and behold, it's a hard inquiry, and I don't even know if I got approved or not. If you're shopping at TJ Maxx, you can't possibly be expecting designer brand quality or high end merchandise however, this is my safe haven for my wallet and style. Was there to return $20 worth of kitchen items that I lost the receipt to. Was treated like I was a scam artist. Asked to see my credit card transactions. Ask for my ID. Then told me it's from TJ Maxx/HomeGoods and I cannot return there even though it's under the same umbrella company they wouldn't help me figure out how to return it there even though their departments did not match. I originally bought the items at the Tustin Legacy location. Another girl was walking by and said we don't even call it legacy. I was not treated very well by this Three people and I will not return to this location. They also kept me waiting a line while they all talked about their diets so if you want customer service and to be treated like a scam artist, please visit here. Today my husband and I came to buy a suitcase, when it was time to pay with my TJMax card I was surprised to find that it had been declined. Gissela B, the manager of Tustin Market Place, helped me solve the problem because it turned out that it had been declined due to a change of address. Smallest, and most disorganized TJMaxx in Orange County. Be careful when trying to purchase clearance items. I found the cutest dress to wear for my upcoming beach trip. $8 - regularly $30. And I also had an exchange to do. Before scanning the dress, she took a look at the price tag, started to peel off the clearance tag and called "Kim" over staying to confirm the price. Kim ripped off the clearance tag and said $29.99. I said, no it had a clearance tag on. Kim walked away (obviously ignoring me) and the associate said, "No. it's $29.99." Wtf? Because you can magically rip off the clearance tag makes it full price? I just asked for my return and walked away. I heard them laughing and stopped when I turned around to look at them. I bought one item on 12/20/2024 totals $5.38 with tax. When I tapped the credit card the screen jumped a few times and went blank. Even though I was a bit suspicious but the lady insisted that it did not go thru and had me tapped the card again. When I review my statement yesterday and sure enough: charged twice on the same day! I don't go to that area often and it's not really worth the drive there and spend who knows how long for the dispute. I am not from Irvine but when I needed a blanket my first thought was to head to a TJ Maxx because it is my favorite store. Unfortunately, today was my first bad experience at a TJ Maxx. I was in a rush so I grabbed a blanket and waited in line. When I got to the checkout stand I realized there were holes in the blanket. Thus, I got out of line a got a new one. The only other blanket that was the same had black marks all over. I was in a rush so I kept the blanket. Every time this has happened at a TJ Maxx they would give a 10%. Thus I was not worried about the marks. But NO, YESENIA RAMIREZ ruined my love for TJ Maxx. Ahh.. I've liked this store lately! I feel like a few years ago it used to be more of a miss than a hit, but lately I've had luck with: - shoes - housewares - women's apparel Score! One thing I really like is how the women's apparel is organized: the "contemporary" (things I like) tend to be on the right rights, nearest the shoes. In addition to that area, the clothes are organized by type (e.g. sweaters, long sleeve knights, short sleeve knits, active, etc.) The only thing I wish that they had was a more significant dress section. Breakdown of Rating: Quality of Items: 3 stars (a lot of items were opened, boxes that housed makeup and skincare were in poor condition, clothing area lacked selection compared to other locations) Service: 5 stars (employees at the front greeted us, the cashier was friendly) Cleanliness: 3 stars (beauty section lacked organization, some shoes and clothing were out of place) PROS: I thought the customer service was outstanding. The cashier who rang me up at the counter had such a great attitude, it brightened my mood. Thank you for having such a great demeanor! CONS: I found that the selection was dismal and lackluster compared to the other surrounding locations (such as the other Tustin location at The District). This location is noticeably smaller and older than their Park Ave. counterpart. A large portion of their makeup and beauty products either were placed in mangled-looking boxes or were previously opened, which was unfortunate because it deterred me from wanting to buy any of them. If you're looking for designer brands, you're better off going to the TJ Maxx at The District. MAIN TAKEAWAY: I ended up buying a pair of Nike leggings for my sister. I had a $10 reward, and it took me some decent time to find something to spend it on... and I walked out spending just $1 over that reward. I love to shop and that almost never happens. My wallet was thankful, for sure. It seems this store has a LOT of damaged items as well in the houseware area. Frames, plants, glasses, etc. Pretty big bummer, I found a few other things I would have purchased but they were badly broken and damaged. Bought a bag of chocolates only to get home and discover that they had been tampered with. Check out the photo - someone replaced the candy with weird cookies and taped a piece of the candy on the packaging window to make it look as if the chocolates were still inside. I really like that they carry Lucky brand shirts, travel items, and kitchen accessories. It's hit and miss on the shoes but I love their purses. Always great home decor & accessories, kitchenware, organizational supplies, and stationary for deep discounted prices. Same great prices for women's clothing, shoes, and accessories too. Men's and children's departments though, are very small and have very little selection. I've snagged really great deals on a few things like Michelle watches, Rebecca Minkoff purses and designer dresses like the photo I attached of the Giavanna Dress by Walter Baker, that are still available on the designer's website! This store is usually clean and organized especially after their makeover. Customer service is usually friendly. But the only thing I really don't like about these stores (and it's sister store Marshalls) is that the cashiers usually try to push you to get the credit card...No thank you... I've only ever been to a TJ Maxx one time before this and I remembered going with a friend of mine who said her mom almost always finds some sort of great bargain there. So we went and didn't find anything -- this was in the Bay Area in Santa Clara. I had some time on my hands today so thought why not just pop in and see what they had. My shopping cart was filled with stuff... shirts, jeans, pants, etc... I had exceeded the 10 item limit so had to leave some things with the attendant. I didn't make out with much on the first lot and although there were a couple of shirts I liked I wasn't going to part with $30 a piece. I didn't like them THAT much. Moving on I tried on the jeans and found a pair of Calvin Kleins for $25... OK that I can deal with. In fact, that was a bargain. I never expect to find anything while shopping at these discounted stores, but once in a while I do get something, however, beware, do not embark on a discounted store shopping spree when you don't have much time because these places seriously take more time than you have to browse through, try on and then standing in line to pay for the ones you want. read more

As anyone who has shopped at a discount clothing store knows...stores in this industry are usually very messy (clothes on the wrong size rack, display items mixed up, etc). Last night I was at this store helping a client shop. As he was paying for all the furniture and rug he purchased I went to the restroom as it was going to be a long time before I'd get to another. The store was about to close and I walked past an employee stocking directly outside of the restroom entrance. She said to me they were closing, and I said I was using the bathroom very quickly. As I did so I raised both my hands up so she could see I had no merchandise with me (and I was wearing a tiny cross body handbag). She proceeded to very loudly call another employee to come to the bathroom. This person rushes over and stood outside of the *stall interrogating me for the 1.5 minutes I sat there,....wanting to know if I was purchasing anything and where the people I was with were in the store. To be clear I have no appearance of being a vagrant, thief, addict, or up to no good, and made it clear upon entering the restroom I had no merchandise. As I left with my guard the stock lady who appointed herself the bathroom police, remained stocking exactly where she had been in the aisle directly at the entrance to the bathroom. So it was completely unnecessary to send someone to stand over me as I HAD to walk past this woman to leave. I immediately told the manager named Karen. She just said, "sorry I'll talk to them" without ever asking who "they" were. Obviously she too is in desperate need of training and the most basic of manners. This is so far beyond bad customer service. It is completely uncouth behavior. Good job TJX scraping the bottom of the barrel for employees that have zero sense of propriety and right and wrong.
