I like this location since it's close and there is plenty of parking. It's always a hit or miss on what you can find. It's usually clean. However, there is always a line to check out. My checkout was awful! Associate #2372840 was the one ringing up my items. I was so happy with my selection of clothes and this man working at the register (associate # above) just started throwing my clothes into the plastic bags. He would scan the price of my item, crumble it between his hands and, not exaggerating, would either shove or chuck my merchandise in the bag and as the bag got fuller, he'd fist shove in more crumbled items. Like a wad of dirty rags that's being tossed away... How does a customer seem so excited to come into a store and find things they want just to see them handled aggressively. Visited Ross today to find some items we were looking for related to storage and home decor. If I could title this review, it would be "All Ross locations may be cluttered, but not all Ross locations are clean." Unfortunately, this is one Ross location was not the cleanest. This Ross also seemed to have a lot of shortage in items we were looking for, especially in the storage, pet, and garden areas. While there were many good deals, it is overwhelming to sift through a store that is not the most organized. I have never been treated More disrespectfully then I was tonight by an associate named Michelle , who was supposedly managing the dressing room. She yelled and screamed at me on two occasions within the store, and was harassing me around the store. There were multiple other customers that she ignored because she was too focused on harassing me. I reported her behavior to security and the manager who was working Maria however the store manager jose was not available until the following day. I truly hope the store manager sees this and addresses this issue with Michelle because she obviously does not belong in Customer Service nor in her position. being in the service industry i couldn't let my frustration go with how horrible the lead or manager(?) treats their employees/co-workers. on 9/27 at around 7:30pm a man standing in the front entrance was very rudely talking down on their employees and even at one moment scolded a worker, almost like a dog, yelling at him to reorganize a section right away. the man continued to talk badly about his workers in Spanish to another lead(?) out loud and all around he was very unprofessional and making it a tense environment. whatever role this person has needs to get off their power trip. it's hard shopping around while employees are getting belittled at an earshot. read more

I really only shop here for my son and this location is really convenient, so much shopping and great food in the area, it's an easy stop when I am in the area anyways. Not a fan of their woman's clothing, but they do carry all the brands that my teenager likes, he likes their shoes section and is always excited when I take him here. Their prices really can't be beat which is why we keep shopping here. Service is non existent, check out lines always way too long, best to shop early or late and to avoid weekends. read more

I was there just a few mins ago. Very unprofessional i lost my sons bottle by the dress section headed there to go look for it i passed the jewerly section and something poked through my sandal it was one of the clothing pins it literally went through and stabbed me the worked there was leaning against the jewerly stand and noticed i was ouch ouch she looked and noticed it was a pin from the clothing i was carrying my toddler so she pulled it out from my sandal it hurt!! She just said sorry and offered a bandaid but common be more clean! Some elderly lady that saw everything saw the whole pin inserted inside my sand and on the flat of my foot! Heres the picture. Holy cow! Worse customer service ever! The manager at this place needs to be re-trained or learn what it means to interact with people. My mom was trying to return a couple pillows. Well he wouldn't let her return them without making a copy of her ID. Uh, she had her receipt and her credit card that she purchased it with. No, she didn't want to have an unnecessary copy of her ID with a magnet for identity theft. When asked why he grunted "corporate policy" then began to argue with her. What nerve! He could have told her that the "policy" is actually AFTER 24 hours, you can return without an ID. But he instead chose to argue with her, embarrass her, and get OTHER CUSTOMERS IN LINE TO CHIDE HER! WTF? You, sir, are a complete jerk. We weren't rude, we weren't demanding. We just didn't want to give you our private information for a couple pillows. I love Ross for their great deals! This experience with the employees working, was not pleasant. All but the dressing room employee gave me a weird look. I was waiting in line and was unaware of the sign that wasn't turned the correct way saying "returns" while a lady with a shirt was waiting there so I lined up behind her. I was waiting a couple minutes while the employee there stocking close by MOCKED me rudely while speaking to another group of customers stating, that I was in the wrong line. I was not advised or greeted at all during this trip, and the cashier was rushing like she didn't want to be there or had something better to do. I will keep shopping at Ross, but not this location. Working is a privilege and I'd love to see people grateful for their source of income! May God bless everyone who was there and whoever is reading this. Agree with the other low reviews - can we give negative stars? I wanted a handbag, and after browsing through the purses a while, decided I wanted something off the Designer 4-way, which locks up the higher end brands: Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, etc. I rang the button which would alert the ENTIRE store that a customer at the Designer 4-way needed assistance. I just thought that could have been done more discreetly, rather than bring attention to the one person trying to buy a $100 handbag. So a woman comes and asks which bag I want. I tell her I want to see a few, but she'll only unlock one at a time. That seems more inconvenient for her, having to wait for me, but if that's policy, then fine. I looked at 4 or 5 purses, one at a time, each waiting for one to be locked up before unlocking the other one. I finally decide on one and walk away with it. I tell her thank you. As I held the purse to think more about this purchase, I started looking at shoes. Suddenly another woman asked me if I was going to buy the purse. I said, "I don't know yet." "I have to know because I have to leave it up here." "OK, well I'm not sure yet. I'm still thinking about it." "I have to know right now so I can hold it up here." "I don't know, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know, ok? Thank you." AKA please leave me alone now. I was annoyed because not only had I called all this attention to myself at THE DESIGNER 4-WAY to look at $100 hand bags, I took my sweet time there, looking at 5 different bags, one at a time, PLUS the Loss Prevention Officer was no more than 10 feet away from me and the front of the store the whole time. This badgering me about holding the purse at the register was so unnecessary and quite annoying. After a few minutes, I just gave them the purse to hold. A few minutes later, I decided to check out, but not before grabbing an impulse buy item from the line. I got to the register, and would you believe, these women didn't even bother to bring my purse up!! They were just going to ring up the impulse buy item. SMDH!!! After giving all this ridiculous attention to me and this purse, they can't be bothered to charge me for it. I really liked the purse, but was so annoyed with the experience, I returned it the next day. That return experience was horrible too, but I'm tired of writing for this Ross, so that's all for now. read more

I absolutely, absolutely love this store. It might seem unorganized at some areas like the Toy Dept. or maybe the Shoe Dept. but that is to be expected. Little kids play in this area and as far as the shoe area, customers try on shoes and do not put the shoes back where it came from. But besides this, the Manager Jose is wonderful and all the Staff Carol, Maria, Dyana, Panchita, and all who I fail to mention here, are the most respectful, cordial and professional people that I know. This is my favorite store. I have been a customer here for 15 years. I started shopping here when my kids were babies and shame on me for just doing this review just now. One can find such bargains and little treasures that they will not find anywhere else. No other store can beat their prices, not even Walmart or Target. I think me and my parents might be banned from this store. They live in Europe and LOVE to shop at Ross when they come to visit. They spend CRAZY amounts of money on clothes, purses, belts.etc. and brings it back to friends and family. A couple of months ago they had spend close to $500 during one Ross visit - had some buyer remorse and went back for a return. There were 2 girls doing the return, one checking the receipt and one putting the items to the side. They returned 10 items of different pricing and type. My dad saw how they dropped something on the floor, asked about it, and they just shrugged it off like nothing. Got his money back and walked out. On the drive home they realized only 7 items were returned on the receipt. When comparing the things they had with the receipt the numbers matched up, 3 things were indeed missing. My parents english isn't the best so they asked me to drive down there to do the talking. The items were STILL sitting in the return shopping cart. They counted them out, 10. And they matched with the receipt. But.. nope, no one did anything wrong. They had ONLY returned 7 items. Even though ALL the items were sitting right there !! I asked for the manager and she lies to my face, telling me they had checked the security cameras (hmm yeah sure). We went back and fort for prob 30minutes.. them accusing us of stealing pretty much. My dad mumbled a 'for f-s sake !!' and there and then the security guy (hmm I mean the dude wearing a black vest), and THREW us out ! Keeping is classy ROSS! Stealing from your customer ! read more

Horrible customer service, rude staff, unwilling to make amends for staff mistakes. Staff member failed to remove security ink tag, didnt notice until I got home, had to drive all the way back to the store and Alex, the manager refused to make any sort of amends for the time, effort or gas it cost me to come back to correct their crewmembers mistake. Acted as if I should be thankful he removed the tag off my purchased item(had receipt in hand as proof of purchase). For some reason, all the crappy stuff comes to this store. I have no clue why I come here since I barely ever find anything. I have much better luck at the Santa Ana location, but to date, the Lake Forest location has been where I've been extremely lucky. Clothes are often strewn in the aisles, but the worst part is the home decor and kitchenware area is always very messy with things all over the floor. Pleasssseeee get more people on the register. There are about 20 people in line and one cashier and one return cashier. The rest of the staff just walking around or in the back. I love Ross products but the store is a hot mess ALLLL the time. The employees are always grumpy and even rude. Is there any quality control at Ross headquarters?? The bathrooms so disgusting anytime you go in it smells so bad like there is no ventilation and it's ALWAYS dirty! Can someone please talk to the manager of this store from admin. Maybe give some better incentive to employees to want to do better. Terrible customer service. My wife and I received a drying rack for bottles for our baby shower. We already had one so we were trying to exchange it for something else or store credit. When I went up to the counter, I explained the situation but the employee stated we cannot exchange the item because the price tag and barcode was ripped off. Not the UPC but the sticker. She said it was store policy that the sticker has to remain on the item. I've never heard of this at any other Ross before. The package was unopened and unused. Every other department store can look up the item with the UPC but this store said they need the sticker. What really made me upset, was that she had the audacity to tell me that I should've told my guest to leave the price tag on. This item was a gift. We have no control over our guests on when and where they purchase items. Plus I've never heard of this policy in any other store. I definitely will not be returning to this store again. I came here today and my perception of Ross has suddenly gone down the toilet. I suppose that because of the "inexpensive" merchandise sold here, it makes up by a lack of employees, service, and subpar quality. I picked out a dress to try and I thought it was hilarious how the employee working in the fitting rooms didn't bother to greet or exchange any word whatsoever. She then walked into the fitting room and I guess I assumed she was directing me to the open stall because all of them looked full. I then realized she had to check her eyebrow out in the mirror. Haha. When I left the fitting room, I said "thanks" and expected no response. And well, that's what I got. This place can get messy and it seems that they need more workers to keep this place organized. There were a line of 7-so people and there were only 2 cashiers. There were babies crying. There was a teenage girl running barefoot around the store in search of her mom. This place is crazy. A third cashier was finally called when the line stretched some more. I finally tried it again after many years and was not surprised that it has declined in both presentation and customer service.
