Fraudulent return policy. Bought a pair of jeans, took the tags off & wore them that same night. Within an hour, the jeans became so loose that I felt like I was swimming in them. Assuming the jeans were made out of cheap material, I tried to return them the next day (WITH THE TAGS & RECEIPT) and was faced with a rude and condescending manager who had absolutely no interest in providing any sort of customer service and or even sympathy to this new policy. Not a single "sorry for the inconvenience" or "I understand". There needs to be some flexibility with this new policy, but there's apparently not even an option to exchange for a new size. Complete waste of $50. read more

Customer service here is non existent, the moment i mentioned I had a return, their demeanor changed. I got called to the register by Jacky - the girl with a bad attitude. She called me over and didn't even make eye contact with me. No smile, just a serious face. She said I needed the tag which I didn't have but I did have the receipt. Then I spoke to the manager & she said if I bring back the tag that they would be willing to make an exception, and I told her an exception for what - at that point if I have the tag and my receipt it wouldn't be an exception; they would simply be doing their job! Just a side note - I've been to the Brea location and the girls their are super sweet and friendly, so I'm gonna stick going to the brea location that is much more welcoming! read more

Horrible customer service. The girls act like they own the place and treated me like I was doing something wrong they accused me of removing tags purposely and returning old clothes. I explained I literally bought the clothes two days ago and my kid who's 12 removed the tags! I had proof of purchase. I'm an adult why would I try and rip off a place for $35 jeans give me break! This is ridiculous the way the talk and treated me in front of people. They said people do it all the time. Maybe their friends do since they're kids themselves working there. Came in to return an online order. Long story short: terrible customer service. Beyond terrible. Couldn't locate my order number in my email despite trying repeatedly. The cashier just stood there and watched me try, offering no help or alternatives. Finally, she recommended calling customer service. I had to ask for the number and called in front of her. After all that, they finally took my return and said "this will only work if you have the original form of payment." Which I did. But this is just not the way to treat customers who are spending $ in your store and trying to go about things in the right way. Left an awful taste in my mouth and makes me hesitate to buy anything online from them ever again. read more

Just visited this location today and the service was awful. No dressing room attendant, and when I asked the girl at the register she just said "Someone is over there" with an attitude. I said that I had just come from over there. I then saw another girl (whom I assume was the attendant) finally walk across the store to get me a room. There was a 5 item limit, so I was told to hang any additional items outside the door so I could try them on after. Once I was done and ready to try on the rest, I was surprised to see all the clothes outside my door were gone. One of the items happened to be the last small in a jacket I liked, so I proceeded to scan the store to find it. It was under a huge pile near the register. The same girl at the register with a bad attitude looked at me and said "um are you in line?" I said no, that I'd been trying on clothes and was told to leave anything over 5 items outside my door, and when I opened the door they were gone, and I was pretty sure these are the items (I was right). She then said "I took them." No I'm sorry, nothing. The exchange was so uncomfortable and rude that I ended up just buying the jacket and other items online right there in the store. Terrible customer service, nice shirts. We bought two shirts for a xmas present and requested a gift receipt. No gift receipt was included in the bag. We texted AE and then called and were told that AE cant provide a gift receipt after the fact. One rep said the return the order entirely and re- order the items with a gift certificate -- and hope it gets filled right. And have a nice day. A supervisor said no, just put the order number when you go to a store, but if a store isnt nearby then WE will have to go online and get a return label to gift to the person who got the gift. I can't say I've been a huge American Eagle Outfitters fan over the years, but I still think this is a really nice store! This location has a good selection of hoodies, t-shirts, and casual dresses. With the holidays so close, they had some really cute Christmas displays up and fun accessories out. The customer service is good here too. I only saw one employee working, but he greeted me warmly as I walked through the store. There are tons of great sales items towards the back of the store. This is a great place to stock up on cute t-shirts and tanks. This is definitely a store meant for the younger consumer but still a good place to find cute things at great prices when shopping at the Outlets at Orange! read more

I always find some great pieces here, the organization at this location is not always the best however they are located at an outlet mall and being that I work at this particular mall I understand the crowds and traffic. Had a great experience in the fitting room, my mother, and I were all in there and she was very helpful grabbing other sizes and even making recommendations based on material etc. Parking here can be a pain the butt at times so just be patient, closest parking is by Neiman Marcus Last Call or Saks Off Fifth Ave! read more

I never got the name of the awesome woman who helped me out on Sunday the 6th. While I waited outside the store she kept me busy in a casual quick chat until I was able to enter the store. As I was wondering around slightly frustrated since I saw dressing rooms were closed. No woman wants to just pick out a size of jeans without trying them on. No one size fits the same. So I tell her my size in a certain brand, and as I had the jeans in my hands she tells me to go down one size in one style and down two in another. They stole my money, literally. I had a gift card for American Eagle Outfitters. Back of the card reads: "AE gift cards have no service fees and no expiration dates." I tried to use to today, and discovered that the balance was $0 because American Eagle decided to help themselves to all of my money because I didn't use it in 3 years. Hope that $25 dollars was worth it, you greedy bastards, because I canceled my purchase (more than $25) and will never spend a cent again in your stores. Oh, and even better - they tried to mislead me when I called. I asked what happened to my money, and was told it was used for a "purchase." When I questioned how that could be possible, since I just literally this minute removed the sticker with the PIN number, it was told that the money had been "forfeited" due to an "extremely long time" of inactivity. When I pressed, I learned that "extremely long time" to American Eagle means, apparently, 36 months. Just be honest and say: "hey, we decided we deserved to take all your money to compensate us for doing absolutely nothing for 36 months." Can someone at AE please explain to me how, if they card has no "expiration date" - it is still subject to 100% forfeiture at 36 months? Seems kinda like, you know, a complete rip off. read more

Came here on a Friday night and was blown away by the level of customer service! Could tell the manager on duty was Jeremy and was doing a fantastic job managing the store as he was so friendly and had such a great presence about him! Overall a good experience here! My only complaints are that the whole store smelled faintly if chlorine, especially the dressing rooms. That being said, the staff was great. I was greeted within 2 minutes of entering the store. I was looking for jeans, and the girl folding and restocking them was very helpful. She asked me exactly what I was looking for, and directed me to a style. She asked what size I was, and I told her I hadn't bought jeans here before, but typically was a 12 or 14. She looked at me and said I was probably an 8 or 10. I thought there was no way, but tried the 10 anyway. She directed me to the fitting rooms and told me to let her know if she could grab me another size. The guy running the fitting room was very friendly. I have to admit, my hopes weren't high. This was the 5th store I'd been in that evening, and I wasn't expecting much. The jeans fit perfectly. They were comfortable, they fit just like the girl said they were supposed to. I believe they advertise them as jeggings. But I was definitely happy. They guy at the register was friendly and helpful as well. All in all, I had a pretty good experience here! This AE is located in the the Block of orange. I stopped by looking for some sweaters and pants for the winter time. I found some cool jeans and I'm very pleased with them. I found the sizes I wanted as well. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. After that all the other employees just avoided me or didn't offer help. The only thing that frustrated me was trying to find an employee to open up the dressing room. If you're going to require a key to get into the dressing room then you should have a fitting room attendant there at all times and not have them running go backs. Also, what's the point of checking how many pieces you have when you're done with the fitting room no one is there to check how many pieces you came out with. It made absolutely no sense. read more

But apparently the employee who reads it had to go out of her way to let me know. I'm so happy she feels so proud of herself. Came in tonight (Wednesday) and the store was pretty busy. I received a $10 coupon in my email so I wanted to use it. While looking at the shorts, I was unable to find a size. A girl that was organizing the shorts did not say one word to me so I asked her if they had any more sizes & she replied that what they had on the area is what was left. Instead I asked Megan if I could order online if I was unable to find my size. She offered to look in the back, but was unable to find my size. She offered a different style & found another different pair of shorts that I might have liked better. After trying them on, I decided to go with only one of the shorts. Worked here for ONE week, that's all I could handle. I've been an assistant store manager before and was only trying to be an associate but their management was so awful I was mortified. You know when you can do a better job, that something is very wrong. The hiring manager asked me what I filed on my W-2's NOT KNOWING it was illegal to do so (seems like something you should know), employees were not very friendly, and they told me that "when the back room isn't functional neither is the store" and let me tell you how dysfunctional their back room was. Though I wish them nothing but the best, I recommend not working here or shopping here due to the competency level of their store. read more

Yesterday I came into this store because I was hoping in purchasing a denim jacket that I've been wanting for so long! I saw it right when I entered the store and I literally just put my arm through the arm whole. When I did the employee was talking on her headset and took the exact same jacket I tried on while saying something on her headset about me trying it on. It made me feel weird, because then I was walking around the store and then she just kept staring as if I were to steal something.
