I can understand why this location has a 3-star rating, although based on my experience, I'm surprised it isn't lower. The level of professionalism displayed by management was extremely disappointing. It seemed as though everyone claimed to be a manager, yet no one handled the situation appropriately or professionally. What was even more concerning was the decision to close off an exit due to staff incompetence, creating what appeared to be a serious fire and safety hazard. Situations like this should never be taken lightly, as customer safety should always come first. I bought a pair of white Nike shoes and I went in to return them. I forgot my receipt in my car but the manager at the register told me I could return them if I brought my receipt. I came back and a different girl was at the register. I told her I had a return and she saw the shoes and said she couldn't accept them because they were "creased". I told her I only wore them in the store to try them on and the bottom was completely clean. She gave me attitude and rolled her eyes at me and said "I can't take them": I told her someone else was here and she looked at my shoes 5 mins ago. She then calls her manager and she said "take back the return I already checked her shoes". Then the rude girl tells me that yesterday was the last time I could return it . So I tell her I want to speak to the person who was helping me before her. The manger came over and told me I could do an exchange and I asked If there was any way to get store credit. I wasn't interested in shoes in that store since the bad attitude everyone has. The manger then said that they don't give out store credit cards and that whenever I want to exchange to come back with the shoes and receipt and that there was no expiration for that. I found that very odd and wierd but I trusted what the manager said. So I brought my mom to pick out shoes to do the exchange and we spent an hour in there. We get to the registers and tell them I had an exchange. They told me that my receipt was a day expired and that they can't take back my shoes to exchange them. I explained to them that I came in the morning and the manager told me I could come to do an exchange because she said you don't offer store credit. She said I could exchange them for any shoes in the store. The employee replied that they don't do that and that they can't do the exchange for me. The guy kept trying to push me to buy the shoes my mom picked out but I told him we only came here because the manager said I could do an exchange! My kids are super picky shoppers but we bump into a young gentleman by the name of Angel. He was very knowledgeable about any and every shoe we requested to try-on. If I could give this place a negative number I would. Walked into a complete cluster of confusion of who is the customer and who is the sales associate. Found a pair of classic Vans that I wanted to try on. After I scanned the room looking for someone I found a gentleman whom I will not name names due to its a management issue/sales training issue. I requested the shoe and when brought it out to me. I was excited to try them on. That excitement was a total flop! I was handed ONE shoe that was unlaced. It's bad enough I wasn't even asked which foot was going to try the shoe on, but at least lace it for me. I did laced it up, tried it on and never spoke to the sales associate again. I guess this is where Cinderella gets her shoes, since you can only try one single shoe. I walked in the store with my friend on what I believe was between the 27th or 28th of January 2021 and was immediately disgusted by what I saw. I saw a tall older gentlemen looked about 6 ft or taller with long hair and a bold goatee who didn't have any mask on who was a Shoe Palace employee. I didn't stick around to get his name as he was coughing around the store. I noticed there was a sign at the door that said "face mask required" but I guess it doesn't apply to employees. 1 star, reason being: Their return policy is awful. They don't actually mean they will accept your return in a "brand new" condition. I only visited this location and I had a pair of sneakers that I had only worn during a week's period of time - they felt a little too big that time and decided to return them (or even exchange them for that matter). I bought a pair of Nikes from this location---they were my size and fit great, but Shoe Palace switched them out, because when I got home the shoes were the wrong size and both were lefts. I chose to go to this location out of convenience, but I ended up driving back to Shoe Palace that same afternoon to return them. As a shoe store, they have a duty of care to ensure that their customers have the right shoes. I assumed they did because I tried them on, but they gave me a different box of shoes when I checked out.
