Amy's Hallmark is located within a large shopping center off of Barranca Pkwy and Culver Dr. Using navigation, it is easy to locate and access. Parking is plentiful. All of the employees here have been welcoming and helpful ever time I've come by. They're also amazing at following up when sought after items come back in stock. Hallmark stores have great cards and gift items year-round, but my favorite time to come is when their keepsake ornaments become available. Collectors know that the Dream Book is released late spring/early summer and lists of must haves are started. Christmas in July starts here!! Mid-July is the first Collectors' Event of the year with the year's Ornament Premiere. Next up is the October Ornament Debut. And the season finishes up in December when the last round of special (and sometimes limited edition) ornaments are released. The week leading up to each of these events, someone from the shop gives me a reminder call to invite me to come join the festivities. Another great example of their outstanding customer service. While collecting Keepsake Ornaments is an investment, the memories shared with family as each ornament is brought out every year is priceless. With the number of Hallmark stores dwindling, I'm extremely happy to have found Amy's Hallmark as my go to place to continue my Keepsake collection. read more

I absolutely love shopping at this Hallmark shop. Friendly staff and cute ambience. I like how the cars are displayed throughout the store. There's even ornaments that you can buy. Loco artist also sell their jewelry here. So much to look at shop at the store.they also have Godiva candy (individual or gift boxes) for sale. sometimes you can find good deals in their clearance section. Love strolling through since you'll find something you didn't know existed for that perfect person. They've really excelled at procuring items for the Collectors in your family like Star Wars, Hogwarts, Star Trek... not to mention the beautiful gifts for Mom or Grandma. First of all it's hard to find Hallmark stores these days. This one is located at South Coast Plaza. This is a really cute store with from what I could see, really nice collectibles. I was looking for the Electrical Parade ornament since I worked guest control for its farewell season in 1996. Of course they were sold out, so I was able to get on a waiting list. Lucky for me, they called me that they got them in. All the employees were very kind. They held it for me and when I entered the store, I gave my name and they got my ornament. I left very happy. On another visit, I was looking for one of those hard to find milestone birthday cards. (65) I had looked everywhere. My brother called and they had them. So the employee held one until we got there. I normally love coming here but today was a disaster. I came looking for boxed Christmas cards and they had a wonderful selection; we were so impressed! We sorted out which ones we wanted and went up to the front counter. I asked the associate to open the box so I could feel the card. The box was sealed but a portion of the card could be seen through the box. She said rub it over here so I did and thought it felt good. She clearly said if it isn't sealed it can't be returned. Against my better judgment, I bought the cards and when I got home and opened the box was in shock at the poor quality and size of the card. I have been buying Hallmark for years and sadly it ends now. Yes, it's my fault and I feel like a fool but I just want to warn others. Don't make the same mistake I did. Wow... Such a disappointment. Day after Christmas went to the closest Hallmark store to buy the annual singing snowman. Walked in with my husband and when asked for the singing snowman, the lady said that they are not available and they are only for Hallmark members. When I mentioned that I could purchase it online, she just said "No, they are for members only. I've never heard of people buying them online before." (I am a "Hallmark member.) What disappointed me was that the attitude of this lady telling me that I could not purchase something unless I was a member. As my husband said as we walked out was "Well, that wasn't very Hallmarkie." She made it sound like only the privileged could purchase from there. Will never go back again, which is too bad because Hallmark store are not plentiful. I will just will need to find a New Hallmark store. read more

In an era of ecards, emails, and brief facebook "happy birthday" messages, it's nice that there are still some stores that sell cards. I've always felt there is something special about receiving a card. This wonderful store, located in the Crossroads shopping center, has aisle after aisle of cards of all types for every conceivable occasion. They range from inexpensive 99-cent cards to audio cards that play comedy routines. And if cards aren't your thing, they also have aisles of Christmas ornaments, wrapping paper & bags, candles, DVDs, stationary, chocolates and a slew of those collectible Hallmark knick-knacks. Finding a Hallmark store these days is like finding a needle in a haystack! I used to go to the Brea location before I moved and I didn't think I would find another one! Low and behold I find this one! I seriously love going to Hallmarks, the selection of cards is amazing! Nothing like what you find at CVS and other drugstores. Not to mention the little goodies and gifts you find! Their Hallmark Signature cards are their version of Papyrus and they have soo many cute cards! Cards for all kind of occasions! Good times, bad times and in between! You will definitely find what your looking for, in fact, you might find too much like I do! LOL! The only thing that irks me is that.. they don't have too much staff {granted because of COVID} but I've gone to the counter and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to realize I'm ready to check out. It has happened 2x since coming. I also think its a safety thing as well, to have someone at the front of the store so you can see who is actually coming and going. Lots of procedures in place during this Covid-19 time - masks required, signs and hand sanitizers placed throughout store, direction markers on ground (but who really follows those at any store?). Parking is plenty and easy to find. Associates are always very friendly and eager to help, without being overbearing and pushy - I swear, Hallmark employees have a certain unique trait you can't find anywhere else. Store inventory was full and diverse, and clean displays. Super in love with the order online-pick up in store option (it's the future of brick and mortar stores!!!) and shopping center has a lot of great food options if you want to spend a couple hours wandering. read more

This place is just jam packed with inventory. This is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because chances are, you're going to find something you want/need. Bad news is that it can feel a bit overwhelming in there & if there are other customers in there, you can find yourself bumping shoulders with each other in the aisles. Customer service is perfect. Friendly and helpful. If you're having trouble finding something, they'll certainly be able to point you in the right direction. And they'll do it with a great smile on their face. Yes, I'm a smart-phone addicted social networker who insists are "reading" all his fiction books in audio format. That said, I'm still decidedly Old School, and so is my love of greeting cards :-) Now, now, let's not judge! I know that sending e-cards is pro-planet, "green", and that it warms the cockles of Al Gore's heart, but I just don't care! For me, it's too impersonal to send your eighty-year old Dad an e-card with a belching dog for his birthday. I'd much rather send him a fancy paper card with a football player in front that plays the NFL theme when you open it. THAT'S the kind of fun card I look for at Hallmark store's like this. Amy's has lots of other cool stuff too - there are mugs, vases, stuffed animals, and all manner of knick-knacks. The staff is helpful and friendly; they always help me find exactly what I'm looking for no matter what special occasion brings me to the store. Tip: Bonus certificates are a valuable bounty received by frequent buyers. This Hallmark is kind of "busy" with so many different products... I do know most Hallmark stores offer a variety of "gifts" but this one is over the top....Heck, they even sell clothes! (weird) I think the variety of products they offer cheapen the experience of being at Hallmark looking for the perfect greeting card. Believe it or not, their card section is toward the back and it is only about 1/3 of the entire store. It's kind of a sad and poor selection, too. Also, there are hardly any Spanish language cards. I love love love choosing the perfect greeting card and I thought I'd have so much to choose from at a Hallmark! However, I found myself settling for a greeting card for my mother, which is something I hated doing. Staff provides average service. There were about 3 clerks when we went in, but we weren't greeted and help was slow to come. I won't be coming back here! read more

Went in for bayberry candles (Christmas 2015), and they didn't have any this year. Lady at the desk was helpful, and suggested a different candle place. I appreciated that a lot! Whenever a holiday or a birthday comes up, Hallmark is my go-to place. This location (Barranca and Culver) in particular is convenient because it's close to me, it's easy to get to (spacious parking lot), staff is friendly, and it's pretty big inside (lots to look at). Although virtual greetings are the norm nowadays, I still believe in physically giving someone a heartwarming (or humorous) card with a *hand*written message (another rarity these days) inside. Not to mention that it's good for me too since I'm so used to typing everything on my computer (like right now). One downfall is that the cards are pretty expensive, especially now, for what they are. I just bought 4 birthday and Christmas cards and it cost me $12! Of course, there is a 99 cents section (does the Dance of Joy), but the more expensive ones do feel formal and nice. The 99 cent ones and the 10 pack birthday cards ($4.99) are definitely a bargain, especially for my kids' friends who have birthday parties galore. They also carry a variety of gift wrap, bows and ribbons, gift boxes, photo frames and albums, address books, small stuffed animals (such as Ty and Webkinz), ornaments (seasonal), figurines, collectibles, etc. etc. Every now and then some of them will go on sale so it's best to check in from time to time (I've found 50% off sales before). Since it's close to Christmas, I'll also mention that their after Christmas sale is usually 40% off all holiday items (but doesn't include individual holiday cards). read more

I am extremely shocked by the amount of 5 star reviews for this specific location. Normally, I go to the two a little closer to home in Costa Mesa but since I was in the area I figured I'd pop in. Unfortunate for me, since they are the rudest, most unprofessional associates at this Hallmark. I had to do a return and they acted like it was the worst thing in the world. The first associate didn't know how to do it cause the receipt wasn't scanning so she had to call the manager over who was trying to figure it out and after about 2-3 mins of still working with it, I, VERY calmly and nicely simply asked, "Is there maybe a way to look it up with my card?" ... Literally, NO RESPONSE. They both just stood there staring at the receipt and computer, did not even look up at me or acknowledge I said anything. I was seriously blown away. Will never be returning here again. For the record, I've worked in retail/customer service for the past 5 years so I get how returns can be annoying and I get not caring about a particular job cause it's just to get you by till something better comes along but I would NEVER treat a customer like the way they treated me. read more

I come here for all my card needs - $0.99 cards, thank you card box sets, discounted Christmas cards (yay!) after Christmas, sympathy, Chinese New Year, etc. A shout-out to Janice, who works there. I was recently looking for Chinese New Year cards, but they were not out on the floor yet. She went to the back, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. Janice asked for my number and said she would call me once the CNY cards were out on the floor. Sure enough, she called me a day or two later and I went right after work that day. I was really disappointed in the customer service at the store the last time we came here. I drove my 60-year-old mother to pick up a card for her friend and the second we parked out front some lady came out and barked at me to move my car instead of just letting me wait there for like 3 minutes for my mom to get her card and come out ( the store is empty..) I had to drive around the parking lot and then come all the way back. What an extremely bored and rude employee, I hope I never have to run into her again! Oh and the best part, neither of us had our cell phones. So my mother was left standing there even though she only took about 4 minutes total. This place isn't worth the visit anymore due to total lack of parking out front. Do better....this is not the time to suck or your shop won't survive. read more

This place has horrbile customer service. I walked in and no one greeted me nor acknowgled me. I was lost looking for a brithday card for my little brother. For 20mins I wondered around the shop looking like I needed help. No One helped. Until i a causacisan man walked in. Eveyone immediatly greeted him and asked him if he need help. I'm right behind him still lookong lost. i finally had enough and the guy kindly told the lady he needed no help. So I told To representive need help l also added,"I've been in this store for a while and no one had even thought twice to help me‍." And then I left. I normally don't write reviews because sometimes things happen and I try to give business' the benefit of the doubt....but I'm pretty upset at the service I received today. I don't consider myself a "picky" person by any means and I try to be as reasonable when considering store policy's....I went in to Hallmark (as I normally do for special occasion gifts, ie baptism). The service was fine, I had no issues, up until it was time to pay. The customers in front of me mentioned they forgot their $5 off of $20 coupon and wondering if they could still get the discount. The associate proceeding to search and obtained a crumbled receipt and gave them the discount. When it was my turn, I asked if there was a coupon available for me and she said it should be in my email...I searched my email and had not received anything lately from them...I told the associate this. She said that's strange and proceeded to charge me the full amount (about $45). When I asked her what the prior customer used, she said they brought in a coupon that is printed on an old receipt....which as I had witnessed was not the case....it's a little disappointing that she couldn't just do the same thing for me as she did for the prior customer...it just didn't seam fair....I'm all about fairness....just sad that she couldn't just pick up the piece of paper, scan it and be done..... and to think that when I asked her what the prior customer used she lied and said they brought in the receipt....no idea what I did to deserve such bad service...it's not about the money, it's the principle..... read more
