The ambiance in Curfew is very nice & sexy. Great for individuals at the bar or a table maximum occupancy of 182 people. The bartender RED also worked on our group event. She was very attentive & personable with everyone. We did have 20 ppl at the last minute but she did fine. The food was just okay. Mostly bar food so you can't go wrong. Her drinks more than made up for it.
If you like IMMEDIATE irritable bowel syndrome, this is restaurant for you. Coffee that taste like soap. The entire hotel is infested with gnats (front desk, lobby, guest rooms, restaurant, basement, coffee shop, etc.) Like a disgusting infestation. All you have to do is walk in and stay still for 10 seconds and they'll be flying all in your face. If you're lucky you may catch the supervisor Rhonda (not picking up her feet while she walks) going around trying to zap them with a tennis racket over your meal while your eating. Gnats in the coke machine Leaks OH THE LEAKS It's a literal rainforest in this hotel. We referred to it as WATER WORLD. Leaks in the kitchen, lobby, back office, basement. (Probably synonymous with the gnats.) Another lovely byproduct of all the leaks. Black Mold (See Attached Pictures) Again if you leave this hotel and get sick refer to my warning. Moldy and Old Food In The Kitchen Cooks in the kitchen RAVAGING BODY ODOR. Around YOUR food. Lol hey man it's your money.
We stopped by before a concert at the Forum last time we were in town, thinking we'd grab some food and drinks. Online said they were open -- and technically, they were... if you count "limited menu" as "basically nothing available." There was no host, no bartender greeting, and no clue what was going on, so we seated ourselves like it was some post-apocalyptic dining experience. The drinks were fine, in the same way gas station coffee is "fine" when you're desperate. No water unless you ask (apparently hydration is an upgrade), and the bartender gave us about as much info on the menu as a Magic 8 Ball. I brought my wife here to impress her -- turns out, I just impressed her with how bad I am at picking places. Four drinks and some wings cost $114, and the best part? Gratuity was already included. Love a place that rewards itself for mediocre effort. If you've got literally any other option -- vending machine, food truck, pretzel stand at the concert -- take it.
My wife and I stayed at The Peabody in Memphis this past week, and the night before we left we decided to try Curfew for dinner as it was right across the street. Overall it was a bit of a mixed bag, but ultimately it was mostly a good experience. The room was nice - open space, dimly lit, enough for a cool spot for a date night. Our waitress was also the hostess - not sure if they were understaffed or that's just how it goes there. But for the most part she was fine. Had a bit of a "whatever" attitude but was nice. There were times where we couldn't track her down so we needed to ask other staff for things. The main "negative" aspect of our night (to jump ahead a bit) was when we got the check. It was noticeably more expensive than expected. I typically do a good job having a roundabout idea of what we're spending when we order, so I knew something was up. It wasn't until after we asked for an itemized copy of the receipt (that we had to ask someone else for), that we saw that she included gratuity in the total without saying anything about it. I'm glad I noticed because I could have easily given double gratuity without even knowing I was doing so. I was a bit frustrated with that aspect of the experience. The food was mostly good. We ordered the bbq shrimp as an appetizer - their creole bbq sauce was AMAZING! I couldn't get enough. I got their smash burger as an entree. Not the best burger I've ever had but it was definitely pretty good. My wife got the bolognese which had absolutely too much pepper. It was mostly all you could taste in each bite. All in all, it was a decent experience. I think I'll head back the next time I'm in the area for some more bbq shrimp... maybe get a couple orders to go :)
Boy oh boy! This was absolutely delicious. The fish was crunchy, the bread was soft, the fries were amazing. 10/10. We also got some ranch dry rub wings that were great too
I love a late night dinner that serves more than bar food. We popped out after storms and when one place only doing bar food, Curfew was still serving dinner. Had a" JA" which was Henn, Rum mixture that had me a bit relaxed. I had the salmon, wifey had the chicken and we were both satisfied... The place is decorated nice and service was solid..
First time eating here! They had the breakfast options until 3 pm. I decided to go with the chicken and waffles, and oh my, that chicken was SOOO dang good. The waffle was like a "continental breakfast" style, which was super good and had the vanilla taste. I also added ranch, and didn't taste like hidden valley. The super sweet bartender that was attending me for my to-go order was super fun and friendly. I wish I knew her name, but she was great. While waiting, the manager checked on me, making sure I was set. This is an awesome place! Can't wait to come back and try new options.
While in Memphis we went out to dinner with some family plans and Curfew is where we landed on going. From the photos it's such a cute place and it lives up to that in person. It's a cool place to go. The drinks also lived up to where I wanted Curfew to be, the food however was middle of the road. Nothing amazing, but also nothing awful. Our waitress was funny and nice, and she helped us figure out drinks. While Curfew seems to be the place to be, even on a Friday night not a ton of people were there and that should have been a clue for us. I would go back, but I would lower expectations.
Came here visiting from Chicago. Restaurant had a good location - it was easy to find parking only 2 blocks away on a Friday night. Restaurant is modern and stylish; however the floors and our table were a bit sticky. I had the bbq flatbread and it was just ok. I was searching for something fresh and acidic to break up the cheese, chicken and bbq sauce. Some red onion, cilantro, pickled jalapenos would take this dish up a few notches. My sister had the fried chicken sandwich. She said it was well-seasoned, hot and fresh. She also enjoyed her fries. As for the service, our server, Denni, was very nice and upbeat, but also inattentive and very slow. The wait for the food was longer than average I'd say but not horrible. Then we waited forever for a box and check. Also, when we walked in there was no hostess to receive us. She came out a couple of minutes later, though. Lastly, I'll note that 2/3 bathroom stalls in the women's restroom had no toilet paper. So, overall it was just an ok experience, nothing to write home about.
I really wanted to like this place because it's super cute inside and they have a really good looking all day menu. But that where it ends. We went in, sat ourselves as a server pointed towards a table and told us to sit there. We did. The tables were dirty. He came and got us our drinks then came back after a few and took our order.. three times because every time he came back something wasn't available.. the flat breads, no biscuits, no fish. Basically, they had wings and burgers.... Anyways we get two burgers chicken wings and a side of fry's with a mezcal old fashion it seemed no one knew how to make... when it was made it took about 20 minutes to get to me after asking two times..... the shining star WAS the food. The two burgers were good. The lemon pepper wings were delicious. If anything I'd come back just for those but I'd dine out. You're forced 18 percent automatically so the service shows they don't care. They're getting paid anyway. I wish I could recommend but I can't.
Came to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. First off, we were late. The birthday girl was behind schedule so the rest of us delayed our arrival because of that. Once we walked in, to an empty establishment, we were greeted by the hostess. We let her know we were there for a reserved and her response was "the reservation was at 5". She seated us and our waitress came over. The waitress had nice/nasty energy the entire time. I know that energy when I hear/see it. While we understood the lateness, the restaurant was pretty empty outside of the bar. Example: I asked her to bring me a shot, since she was bringing the birthday girl one, I never received it. The Food...average at best. The drinks...I had the Ja Drop. It was pretty good. The ambiance...it's a nice chill vibe. Honestly, I'd probably never go back.

I took hubby for his birthday dinner. As this was part of a weekend full of surprise activities, I went based on the menu and other reviews. I was not at all disappointed! Our server was incredibly attentive and prompt. With such a welcoming and jovial personality, I knew that we would enjoy our time there. I started my meal with the deviled eggs, a dish that I eat every chance I get. Topped with fried onion rings, they were among the best I've tasted thus far. Hubby ordered Sweet Fire Chicken Wings to start. They looked incredible, but I don't handle spicy too well. I'd order the Wine and Whiskey Pork Shank, but they had run out, so I went instead with the Roasted Chicken Pepperonata. It wasn't a bad substitution; the sides of green beans and mashed parmesan potatoes were incredible! Hubby had the Ribeye, medium-rare. The appetizers and main course were more than enough to fill us up, so we didn't have dessert on this initial visit. We will definitely return another time for it. COVID MEASURES: The staff all wore masks and gloves the entire time we were dining. Even though the restaurant was full, they made full use of the space to keep everyone socially distanced. read more
I came here on a whim wanting to try a restaurant in walking distance from the Marriott hotels on Main st. I ordered the Spanish octopus- it was perfectly cooked and had just the right level of spice. Quite rich and heavy for an appetizer, so save this one if you're looking for a lighter dinner. This is definitely a place I will return if I'm in the area! read more

I came here for brunch on Sunday and it happened to be literally perfect. The service was outstanding (I didn't catch her name but she had a knee brace on - give her a raise and a hug! She's so sweet!). The Cornmeal Crusted Catfish sandwich was the best fish sandwich I've had in a while. (So glad I made the right choice for my cheat meal!) Our drinks were ah-mazing! I was with someone who doesn't really drink alcohol and even he really enjoyed what the bar made him. I started with the "Spike Your Juice" and I ended with the "Fly High Butterfly" which is the cute one that you see with the purple on top. read more
I was really looking forward to this one that I came out in the pouring rain with no occassion! Anyhoo, I made reservations and they text to confirm since we were running late. Our server Princess immediately came out and ran down the list of items they did not have, lol but it was cool. Although the menu is somewhat limited as is then to remove key options was not ideal but I pushed through. I ordered a Strawberry Hennessy margarita which was nice then chicken sandwich with fries. Chicken was seasoned well just dry but good. I added bacon because why not and I got some crumbs but still I pushed through. The fries were just average but for the price they should offer homemade chips or fries. The brunch ended with a lovely chocolate cheesecake and baby that thang was nice nice. Overall Curfew is abit over priced for mediocre food and for that reason I will not go back. read more

Danielle (Danny) was not a good server. She paid little to no attention to us. We had empty glasses as well as those tables around us she was serving as well. She came to refill one glass instead of topping off all the glasses. The food was just okay but she never came to ask after first bite or later on. She only came back to ask if we were ready to check out. The sweet and spicy wings were really good. You can't get all flats but it's fine. They come with veggies I asked they not be added. The chicken pasta has great flavor but the rigatoni pasta should have boiled longer. It takes longer to boil than thinner pasta. The deviled eggs were actually good. The fish is bland and they kept the silver part on the fish that made it taste very fishy. It also was fried soft and mushy. Everything about the salad was terrible. It tastes like grass. A bitter taste as if it was old. There were gnats flying around. An uninvited dinner guest for sure. We complained and the server didn't add the automatic gratuity. However, with a party of 7 she didn't have the checks correct. Bartender was doing prescription drugs behind the bar. We opted not to get drinks. A birthday dinner gone wrong. We just left here and it was amazing! Sat at the bar. Our bartender was amazing! She makes delicious drinks. I'm all about cocktails and this girl makes them on point!. I'm not local but I wouldn't mind driving out here for these drinks. They would be worth the drive! read more
We dined here last weekend! And we absolutely LOVED it! The bartenders were ON POINT! If you and your significant other is looking for a cite ducked off spot with amazing drinks! This is the place. We started off getting drinks.. which then lead to us getting some food. Lol. I cant remember our bartenders name but he hooked our drinks up. I would definitely recommend ! I want to try the brunch! I stopped by with a friend Sunday around noon for brunch & we were almost not seated for lack of a reservation. So, I'll begin by advising that you should consider making a reservation. The restaurant is in the hotel. You walk in and make a right. It's artsy and modern with booths, tables, an indoor and outdoor bar area as well. Y'all, the food was beautiful, but not just for show; it was exquisite, delicious, mouth-watering, and savory! I ate beyond satisfaction. Mimosas were legitimate! I didn't see a bottomless option if you're looking for that but who cares with food that great. Everything we ordered checked out. Memphis seemed a little sketchy, but I'm definitely coming back for more of this establishment's food. The food is worth the danger. Famous last words, unh? read more

Service and food were mediocre. No one there to greet us when we walked in. I had to find someone to seat us and we had reservations. We were seated with the wrong menus for dinner. We were given the lunch menu. The restaurant was also deserted so it wasn't like they were overcrowded or overwhelmed. Our waitress was fake nice and I guess since the tip is included no matter the party size there is no incentive to be any other way. I do not recommend nor will we be back. read more
I have not had a bad experience yet! The menu is limited but perfect. I haven't had anything that disappointed me. The drinks are amazing. I went to brunch here for the first time and enjoyed the biscuits and shrimp and grits. I would definitely recommend. read more

Cool cocktail restaurant vibe just across from the stadium. We decided to try this place out since our go-to breakfast joint was too packed with customers. We were glad to be able to walk in & enjoy a filling breakfast with ease. Food was fire. Waitress seemed to forget about us every now & then, but still took good care. read more

I was able to revisit Curfew for dinner. I made reservations online and of course, was seated right away. To my surprise, it wasn't too bad for a Saturday night. Once we placed our order for drinks, the server was back from the bar with them within 5 minutes! I ordered the "Flight High Butterfly" and it was great! I tried the BBQ Brisket pizza, and my husband ordered the chicken thighs. The pizza was very good and he was pleased with his selection as well. As expected, we enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant, which is a great spot to meet up with friends and enjoy good conversation and drinks. Overall, We were quite pleased with the great service, great food and of course great drinks. read more

I don't have to many five stars to give Memphis . But this spot is definitely one of them. Firstly the architecture and interior design team did a tremendous job with this restaurant. That alone sets a great ambiance for the scenery . Service in top notch and very attentive but not obnoxious Food is served in timely manner . Presentation 10/10 as well. Great place downtown. Curfew is a really cool restaurant/bar with a gorgeous aesthetic. Hubs and I stopped in and sat at the bar for cocktails and an app before dinner. I believe Haley was our bartender's name. He ordered an old fashioned and I tried the Bouquet. Both were tasty and the deviled eggs were great. Will be back for vibes, good drinks, and to try a full meal! read more

This place was a great spot for us to have a nice dinner before the grizzlies game! The service was pretty good but the girls taking care of us didn't act super professional. We started off with the octopus appetizer which tasted great and the spicy potatoes with it were phenomenal. I usually don't like to order pizza, but the Brie and bacon pizza sounded too good, and it lived up to all of my expectations. It had brussels sprouts and egg on it, and the brie really tied all of the flavors together. The steak was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had! I ordered a bourbon cocktail that I didn't love, but everyone else enjoyed it at the table so I handed it off and had some wine instead. Social atmosphere! read more

I honestly didn't give Curfew a fair shot going into this experience (and yes, it IS an experience!)- so I am happy to admit that I was blown away! Haley was our bartender & server and PHENOMENAL!! She was not only spot on with recommending the Lemon Grits, but also the Spanish Octopus*! (*It was overheard that they are discontinuing the octopus due to costs... trust me- they could charge $30 for this and we'd gladly pay it!!) The octopus was literally the BEST octopus I'd ever had! It was buttery, not rubbery!! Blown away! The NY Strip (Medium Rare) was perfection! Curfew has a dog-friendly patio, so our Shiner was happy to eat the trimmings of my steak! The Redfish with lemon grits was apparently great- my husband ate it up completely! (I ate the creamy lemon grits- they were not over poweringly lemon, but just right! We partakes of adult beverages and he enjoyed several Sabor Caribeno, and I enjoyed MANY of their A"Maize"ings! The Smokey sugar cane paired with the chili lime timed glass is perfection!! All in all- this place is may be understated, but no doubt worthy of an unforgettable experience! While I can't recommend staying at the hotel (Canopy by Hilton), I highly recommend not passing up on Curfew! read more

Enjoyed our time at Curfew. Service was good. Drinks were great (it's not on the menu but I ordered a spicy margarita which was a success!). Food was good. Most likely wouldn't return since I don't live in Memphis and there is so much more to see, taste and experience but I think it's worth a shot if you are looking for somewhere to go that's not BBQ or something specific. My husband and I stopped in this evening for a quick bite to eat and a few drinks. We opted to sit at the inside bar. We were immediately greeted by the bartender who was on his A game. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about mixed drinks. I had the chopped salad and loved it. I could eat it everyday. It had a little kick to it, in my opinion, but wasn't sure if it was the banana peppers or fresh cracked pepper. I didn't see anything else that would cause the spice. My husband enjoyed the octopus as a quick snack. They do not have a huge menu but I am sure you can find something to enjoy along with a craft cocktail. read more
Curfew is a cool new spot in the Canopy hotel in Downtown Memphis. It's a great location and the patio is a nice size. My server recommended the pancakes. It was a great choice. They were hot and fresh when they arrived. I didn't care for the peanut butter mousse but it can be removed. There aren't bacon strips but there are many cubes of thick bacon. The chicken livers were a large portion and my guest liked them. We will be back! read more

The food is absolutely amazing. I got the brisket grilled cheese. You can tell there is a new chef in the kitchen improving the flavor. I asked to speak with said chef, Henny Henderson. I appreciated her speaking with me and thanked her for the improved taste. I went for lunch and the environment is very calm and warm. The only reason I couldn't give a full 5 stars is because one of the managers, they referred to as Sarah, was standing in the bar eating her food. I feel that was very inappropriate because her eating area was right next to the straws that are served to guest. read more

Hubby and I are staying at this hotel and wandered down to the restaurant for a light meal after spending the afternoon at the BBQ festival. The style of the restaurant is gorgeous. For drinks, I had a sparkling wine and he had a local IPA. My husband ordered the pretzel and I got the black eyed pea hummus. The pretzel was very flavorful with some baked salt and cheese on it. The hummus was delicious, and the veggies and olive oil soaked pita were perfect pairings. Our server was friendly and we got our food quickly. It was a little strange that gratuity was included on a bill for 2 people, but that seems to be restaurant policy. read more

This place has a wonderful outdoor seating. The panna cotta was delicious. It was rich in flavor and a nice custard like consistency. The fries were hot and fresh with freshly cracked salt. The chicken sandwiches was very filling due to the size. The chicken was nicely flatten, breaded, and fried to perfection! The drink was flavorful and strong enough for a nice buzz. Price point is a bit pricy, but overall quality of food was good! read more

One star for service. There was a mandatory 18% gratuity added for our party of TWO. Red flag that the service would be ghetto. Their loss because I typically tip 20% (easy math) and I also like to tip with cash. My husband ordered the redfish. Or, at least what they were trying to pass off as redfish. It was salmon. The food was decent, nothing to brag about. Our server, Garrett, was inattentive. I had to swipe a container of water from the bar to refill my glass. My husband had to hunt our server down to pay the bill once we were finished. read more

I came here for dinner service on a Sunday, and the restaurant was relatively busy, but not too bad! I ordered the Sabor Caribeño cocktail, which was strong, but tart and delicious. For food, I ordered the Deviled eggs (which I gobbled up so fast I forgot to take a picture), the Spanish Octopus, two chef specials - the house made rigatoni bolognese (pictured), and miso BBQ shrimp (not pictured..again, forgot to snap a pic before I ate it all), and then somehow had room for the Guayaquil Chocolate Cake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, and you can tell so much love and care goes into every flavor combination. I highly encourage you try the Spanish Octopus. It is the most tender and flavorful octopus I have ever eaten, and packed with flavor. The basil on top adds a sweet, herby note to the heat of the dish... Just absolutely breathtaking. I almost had to be rolled out of the restaurant I ate so much, but every single bite, down to the garnish, was incredible. The restaurant itself was very clean, albeit very noisy with the traffic going by. All the servers and staff wore masks and there is public parking a block from the restaurant. This is, hands down, the best food I have ever eaten in Memphis. You will not be disappointed! read more
Can I first say that the Canopy by Hilton is a nice hotel and Curfew is a great restaurant/bar. It's a nice place to take a lady out, great service and good food. Also, the drinks were smooth. The Apple Harvest drink is a spicy apple drink and I had 2. LOL! Don't let the egg on the Bacon and Brie pizza fool you. It's great on the pizza. Overall, Curfew is a great experience. read more
