I came here for brunch on Sunday and it happened to be literally perfect. The service was outstanding (I didn't catch her name but she had a knee brace on - give her a raise and a hug! She's so sweet!). The Cornmeal Crusted Catfish sandwich was the best fish sandwich I've had in a while. (So glad I made the right choice for my cheat meal!) Our drinks were ah-mazing! I was with someone who doesn't really drink alcohol and even he really enjoyed what the bar made him. I will not be coming back to Curfew, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Some colleagues and I had a 6pm reservation on a Tuesday evening before a Redbirds game. We were sat immediately, but that's all that seemed to go right. After 15 minutes, the waitress finally came over to take our drink order, and we didn't get drink until after we had been there over 30 minutes. Danielle (Danny) was not a good server. She paid little to no attention to us. We had empty glasses as well as those tables around us she was serving as well. She came to refill one glass instead of topping off all the glasses. The food was just okay but she never came to ask after first bite or later on. She only came back to ask if we were ready to check out. The sweet and spicy wings were really good. You can't get all flats but it's fine. They come with veggies I asked they not be added. The chicken pasta has great flavor but the rigatoni pasta should have boiled longer. It takes longer to boil than thinner pasta. The deviled eggs were actually good. The fish is bland and they kept the silver part on the fish that made it taste very fishy. It also was fried soft and mushy. Everything about the salad was terrible. It tastes like grass. A bitter taste as if it was old. There were gnats flying around. An uninvited dinner guest for sure. We complained and the server didn't add the automatic gratuity. I was really looking forward to this one that I came out in the pouring rain with no occassion! Anyhoo, I made reservations and they text to confirm since we were running late. Our server Princess immediately came out and ran down the list of items they did not have, lol but it was cool. Although the menu is somewhat limited as is then to remove key options was not ideal but I pushed through. I ordered a Strawberry Hennessy margarita which was nice then chicken sandwich with fries. Chicken was seasoned well just dry but good. I added bacon because why not and I got some crumbs but still I pushed through. The fries were just average but for the price they should offer homemade chips or fries. The brunch ended with a lovely chocolate cheesecake and baby that thang was nice nice. I came here on a whim wanting to try a restaurant in walking distance from the Marriott hotels on Main st. I ordered the Spanish octopus- it was perfectly cooked and had just the right level of spice. Quite rich and heavy for an appetizer, so save this one if you're looking for a lighter dinner. I was able to revisit Curfew for dinner. I made reservations online and of course, was seated right away. To my surprise, it wasn't too bad for a Saturday night. Once we placed our order for drinks, the server was back from the bar with them within 5 minutes! I ordered the "Flight High Butterfly" and it was great! I tried the BBQ Brisket pizza, and my husband ordered the chicken thighs. The pizza was very good and he was pleased with his selection as well. I stopped by with a friend Sunday around noon for brunch & we were almost not seated for lack of a reservation. So, I'll begin by advising that you should consider making a reservation. The restaurant is in the hotel. You walk in and make a right. It's artsy and modern with booths, tables, an indoor and outdoor bar area as well. Y'all, the food was beautiful, but not just for show; it was exquisite, delicious, mouth-watering, and savory! I ate beyond satisfaction. Mimosas were legitimate! I didn't see a bottomless option if you're looking for that but who cares with food that great. Everything we ordered checked out. The food is absolutely amazing. I got the brisket grilled cheese. You can tell there is a new chef in the kitchen improving the flavor. I asked to speak with said chef, Henny Henderson. I appreciated her speaking with me and thanked her for the improved taste. I went for lunch and the environment is very calm and warm. The only reason I couldn't give a full 5 stars is because one of the managers, they referred to as Sarah, was standing in the bar eating her food. This place was a great spot for us to have a nice dinner before the grizzlies game! The service was pretty good but the girls taking care of us didn't act super professional. We started off with the octopus appetizer which tasted great and the spicy potatoes with it were phenomenal. I usually don't like to order pizza, but the Brie and bacon pizza sounded too good, and it lived up to all of my expectations. It had brussels sprouts and egg on it, and the brie really tied all of the flavors together. The steak was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had! I honestly didn't give Curfew a fair shot going into this experience (and yes, it IS an experience!)- so I am happy to admit that I was blown away! Haley was our bartender & server and PHENOMENAL!! She was not only spot on with recommending the Lemon Grits, but also the Spanish Octopus*! (*It was overheard that they are discontinuing the octopus due to costs... trust me- they could charge $30 for this and we'd gladly pay it!!) The octopus was literally the BEST octopus I'd ever had! It was buttery, not rubbery!! Blown away! The NY Strip (Medium Rare) was perfection! Curfew has a dog-friendly patio, so our Shiner was happy to eat the trimmings of my steak! The Redfish with lemon grits was apparently great- my husband ate it up completely! (I ate the creamy lemon grits- they were not over poweringly lemon, but just right! We partakes of adult beverages and he enjoyed several Sabor Caribeno, and I enjoyed MANY of their A"Maize"ings! The Smokey sugar cane paired with the chili lime timed glass is perfection!! Hubby and I are staying at this hotel and wandered down to the restaurant for a light meal after spending the afternoon at the BBQ festival. The style of the restaurant is gorgeous. For drinks, I had a sparkling wine and he had a local IPA. My husband ordered the pretzel and I got the black eyed pea hummus. The pretzel was very flavorful with some baked salt and cheese on it. The hummus was delicious, and the veggies and olive oil soaked pita were perfect pairings. Our server was friendly and we got our food quickly. My husband and I stopped in this evening for a quick bite to eat and a few drinks. We opted to sit at the inside bar. We were immediately greeted by the bartender who was on his A game. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about mixed drinks. I had the chopped salad and loved it. I could eat it everyday. It had a little kick to it, in my opinion, but wasn't sure if it was the banana peppers or fresh cracked pepper. I didn't see anything else that would cause the spice. Located in a new hotel lobby with nice ambiance. Great location heart of downtown directly across from Peabody. Reservation at 530 PM. Seated promptly upon arrival. 15 minutes later, 5:45, waitress arrives and we order 2 bar drinks. Waters brought out promptly and we ordered the food about the same time, 5:45. Between 5:45-6:50 PM, waitress was missing in action and bar drinks never received, water never refilled, no food, no appetizer, no nothing. Bar drinks arrived a little after 7:00, nearly 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering. At 7:18 PM, the food arrived, both the appetizer and the main dish at the same time, leaving us less than 10 minutes to eat and get to our next event. No napkins or silverware was ever brought to the table. Water was never refilled. Food was pretty good, but by the time it arrived, we were just ready to go. Curfew is a cool new spot in the Canopy hotel in Downtown Memphis. It's a great location and the patio is a nice size. My server recommended the pancakes. It was a great choice. They were hot and fresh when they arrived. I didn't care for the peanut butter mousse but it can be removed. There aren't bacon strips but there are many cubes of thick bacon. I came here for dinner service on a Sunday, and the restaurant was relatively busy, but not too bad! I ordered the Sabor Caribeño cocktail, which was strong, but tart and delicious. For food, I ordered the Deviled eggs (which I gobbled up so fast I forgot to take a picture), the Spanish Octopus, two chef specials - the house made rigatoni bolognese (pictured), and miso BBQ shrimp (not pictured..again, forgot to snap a pic before I ate it all), and then somehow had room for the Guayaquil Chocolate Cake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, and you can tell so much love and care goes into every flavor combination. I highly encourage you try the Spanish Octopus. It is the most tender and flavorful octopus I have ever eaten, and packed with flavor. The basil on top adds a sweet, herby note to the heat of the dish... Just absolutely breathtaking. I almost had to be rolled out of the restaurant I ate so much, but every single bite, down to the garnish, was incredible. The restaurant itself was very clean, albeit very noisy with the traffic going by. All the servers and staff wore masks and there is public parking a block from the restaurant. This is, hands down, the best food I have ever eaten in Memphis. You will not be disappointed! read more

We took my father here for his birthday, because he loves octopus. It was delicious! The food was all good and generous portions. My only complaint is that it's a little slow. But the entire staff was so lovely and they brought out a special dessert for my Dad. The restaurant inside is GORGEOUS! And the outside patio looked very fun. We were able to make a reservation with ease on the Open Table app. Our table was ready when we arrived and the server was very attentive. The server was very knowledgeable about the drink selections and was able to make a great recommendation for me, the Sabor Caribeño with peach. The spaghetti pici had very wide noodles, plump & colorful cherry tomatoes, and a light & tasty sauce. My husband enjoyed his brisket sandwich and my friend enjoyed his rigatoni. However, his wife wasn't satisfied by the bacon & Brie pizza because she didn't taste much Brie. However, I can attest that the pizza was pretty tasty, not a lot of Brie, and an unexpected egg for me since I hadn't ordered it. The fries from my husband's sandwich was pretty good too. Lastly, it was my birthday and I was treated by a wonderfully decadent chocolate cheesecake with strawberries and chocolate ice cream. The server did a great job and the food was splendid. Went for lunch on a rainy October afternoon. Curfew is part of a restaurant group headed by Favio Viviani from top chef fame in 2005. After checking the menu and taking my server, Virginia's recommendation I had de Spanish octopus for an appetizer. Man oh man! That is some good, tender, semi-spicy octopus nation point I don't think that I've ever had better in my whole life. Often times octopus is somewhat of a struggle to eat because the kitchen will cook it inproperly. When prepared incorrectly, it can be as tough as an old boot. With octopus you either cook it briefly or cook it a long time and anything in the middle is wrong. These chefs know their stuff. I'll have this one again and again! Great job Virginia!! Having had such a great experience on the first course as recommended by Virginia, I have decided to try one of their small pizzas, all of which are advertised as "Roman style". The one I tried was "Carne di Curfew - house-made tasso, boar sausage, bacon, roasted onion, mozzarella & parmesan". Virginia described it topped with house-made Tasso and sausage on a crust made with double zero flour. I think I am impressed her for the first time by knowing what double zero flour is. It is Italian, low-protein, soft white flour. The Italians famously use it not only for pizza crust but also for other flatbreads and Focaccia. I had a Apple Harvest cocktail from there list. "Virginia says" Bourbon, Amaro Melleti, Apple Juice, Lemon Juice, Fresno Chili Pepper Syrup. Works really well to remind me of fall. Nicely sweet/tart with a tiny spicy backfire from the Fresno chili simple syrup. So good I had two!! I'll return here frequently and you should too!
