Been here several times and always enjoy. For mud island the prices feel pretty reasonable and food is always tasty. Decent veg/pescatarian options too. Service has always been good whether it be dining room, bar or outdoors. Outdoors is really nice too, on not too hots days you can look at the river. I don't live on the island anymore but I would go back.

Blackened Chicken Pasta

My friend picked this place. He said the burgers were good so I had to try one. The burger was good. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. Everything else here was just ok but my wife seemed like she liked it. To me the loaded fries weren't loaded enough. The pasta my wife got was decent but it was just ok too. I don't think I would come back unless the same friend invited me.

Got the Cajun omelette. Seasoned well, I added bacon to mine It came with shrimp crawfish peppers an onions. With a side of potatoes and a cup of gumbo Gumbo a bit spicy but still good. First time here an the mimosas was ok wasn't a fan of the tropical flavor. Very very sweet Pineapple was decent decent

Tugs . . , Neighborhood casual dining!! Let's go!!

Tugs in my opinion is a neighborhood restaurant that everyone on mud island and beyond enjoys!! We went to celebrate a colleagues birthday and had a great time. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers. I love the lettuce wraps and spinach & artichoke dip and that's exactly what we ordered. I'm on a diet, so I requested the celery and carrots to dip!! Armani was our server and she was super professional, fun, and engaging!! We enjoyed her presence and her service. I recommend Tugs for a casual and fun evening with family and friends.

Decent cheeseburger & fries. Standard Greek salad; pub atmosphere with TVs to catch games. Attentive service.

Service was excellent, but the food was subpar, bland pasta, full of butter. The waitress was very attentive.

There is a large bar top with very nice barstools, a dinner style seating area, a small stage for performances, an area that can either be a dance floor or anything else, and a wonderful back area as a private lounge. The private lounge has privacy glass. It can be a VIP area, or a cigar lounge, or another venue space. There are restrooms for men and women. I was impressed with The Pocket layout. It is accessible from a wonderfully historic staircase from the Tailor's Union upstairs. I loved that at the beginning of the staircase coming down, there is an original fireplace in the brick wall of the stairwell, super original and very nostalgic to the space. Overall, I recommend this space for venues. I hope that they are bookable on Peerspace or another venue space site. Great experience.

I thought that was a really dope idea that you have to walk in and then walk behind whatever you think it's supposed to be there to find the actual bar. When you come in the building is kind of dark. But when you walk back to the bar, it's super white and lit. It looks beautiful! We talked to the owner for a little bit, he was super nice and super friendly. My drink was good. Customer service was pretty good as well. We got there too late to where there was no food, but that's not why we were coming. This is a nice little hidden gem. That's the way the owner described it! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've been to BarWare three times now, and each visit has been its own little adventure…read more Visit #1: Absolute perfection. The female bartender was on it--friendly, fast, and she introduced me to my new signature drink, the Hold On To Your Britches. If you like a sweet cocktail, prepare to fall in love. I only needed a small bite, so I tried the grilled cheese... and honestly, it was silly good. The kind of good that ruins all future grilled cheeses. Trust me: get it. Visit #2: Stopped in just for drinks. Still good, but service was slooooow. I would've ordered another round, but eventually tapped out. Visit #3: Visited for Downtown Dining Week. The Caesar salad was basically lettuce in a monologue--no cheese, no croutons, just lonely leaves in dressing. Entrées tasted good but were tiny. My pasta was so spicy I couldn't finish it, but the short ribs with mashed potatoes were legitimately delicious. When I go back for visit #4 (and I will), I'm sticking with what BarWare does best: that fruity cocktail and the holy-grail grilled cheese. The ambiance and seating options are too good to stay away, even if the service and a couple dishes miss the mark now and then.
