We are lucky to have this here. Might be the only place on Mud Island to get pizza? The not so lucky: the food is decent, I would never get psyched up to come eat it though. The best thing about this place is the location and the servers are nice. Our server did not write down our orders, so consequently, my salad had tomatoes on it when I ordered no tomatoes and my wife's sliders had cheese on them when she asked for no cheese, (lactose intolerant.) The best thing was the pizza. It tastes exactly, I mean exactly like Shaky's Pizza, from the crust to the sauce to even the appearance! Some people turn their nose up at Shakey's pizza, but I like all pizza because it is all different.... We will be back because it's the only game in town .... PS. Some people are complaining about the prices, but they seem completely fair to me. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years. It's always been a great place to meet friends, have a good meal and some drinks. Recently however, and I'm not sure if there has been a management shake up, the service and food quality have suffered greatly! This has always been one of the best burgers in town but now is more like a thin average burger. The staff aren't as professional as before but is still ok. Tugs was once the jewel of Harbor Town dining but unfortunately an Italian restaurant has taken that title even though it doesn't offer the magnificent sunset views. We will not loose hope for Tugs but we are patiently waiting for the sports bar around the corner to open soon. If they have a good burger, it might very well become our new Island hangout! read more

My husband and I had a spontaneous day together so we decided to try Tugs. We wanted a more casual atmosphere and Tugs definitely provided that. We went at a weird time of day. Post lunch/mid afternoon. It was a mixed crowd. Service was okay. Our waitress was fairly attentive and had a good attitude and was kind. The food was okay. I think if we go again, we would try it for breakfast or brunch. The French fries are really good, and my husband's pizza was too. It had a very good crust if you like thinner pizza. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was pretty good but also pretty standard. Overall everything was fine. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the constant smell of them washing stuff down with fabuloso, and because it just wasn't amazing. read more

Today is sat Mar. 21, most everyone is busy doing their thing . The white bartender has done nothing but talked for an hour plus to patrons. The coffee is cold and the food too. I think if they gagged the bartender or simply fired his load mouth they could hire an employee to check the food temperature. We won't be back.. the staff is friendly the food would be better if it was served hot not ice cold. My coffee came from the fridge not a coffee pot. Been here several times and always enjoy. For mud island the prices feel pretty reasonable and food is always tasty. Decent veg/pescatarian options too. Service has always been good whether it be dining room, bar or outdoors. Outdoors is really nice too, on not too hots days you can look at the river. Hubby's friend picked this place and said it had great burgers. I wasn't really feeling burgers though so I picked something else, but I did get a bite of my husband's and it was pretty good. I have to say it was HUGE. I almost couldn't fit it in my mouth so if I did get a burger here I'd have to squish it a little first hahaha. My husband ordered the mahi mahi, it came out very undercooked but he didn't realize until he had eaten half and got to the middle of it where it was still raw. The manager tried to gaslight us and tell him he didn't order it "well done" and specify cooking temperature. They refused to admit that it was just plain raw (which it definitely was). Worst dining experience I've had in a very long time. We came here for breakfast on Saturday morning and were seated outside by the hostess. We then waited 30 minutes before the waitress even came to our table. We had to go inside and ask the hostess three times for our waitress before she would see us. Then when she finally took our order, we had to wait another hour for the food. The only reason we waited so long is that breakfast was complimentary with our hotel stay. I love this place. The last time I was here it was in 2010. It is right across from the Mississippi River and it is quite lovely to have dinner, a drink and watch the sunset however, I am here for lunch and a beverage. The customer service is great, we all got 2 apps a side and a meal. The entree was the salmon which was great, a side of sweet potato friends, southwestern egg rolls and chicken wings. The food was really good! I had spinach dip to start with and Cajun pasta for my entree. The spinach dip was super creamy and seasoned just right. I love the breadcrumb topping and the bread used to dip with. It was a treat within itself, baked to perfection and buttery soft. The pasta was just as good. What a cute spot! We had the pleasure of being taken care of by Armani. What a bright young lady! Extremely hospitable and brought life to our dinner table. Ask for her when you go in as she will surely provide you with excellent service! They food was awesome too. We had chicken wings, artichoke dip, and Santa fe rolls. All were excellent. The chicken wigs were nice and crispy and full of flavor! All four of us shared two Bison burgers, which were absolutely amazing and full of flavor! Never to return. The only reason I'm not giving this 1 star is because of the server Tony who is probably over worked and under paid. I really had to remain calm after waiting 20 minutes for him to pick up the payment from the table after I had already waited for him to adjust the ticket because of an error in the system. By far, the WORST dining experience I've had in a long time. I always see so many people here, so I thought the food and drinks MUST be great. I was not impressed, but the food wasn't the most annoying part of this dining experience. So as most restaurants are still struggling a bit with staff, I had to wait a bit to be seated, but they weren't busy. A few people were at the bar and the rest were at a few tables. No party larger than 5 people with only about 5 tables max seated. I ordered a shrimp po boy... . I was sure to tell the server to please not bring me any cold food because I didn't want to send it back. I made this statement after it took 20mins for a drink. What happens when I get my food? Lukewarm, almost cold fries. I asked for another order. The po boy...well, the shrimp were small, remoulade sauce was the most basic ever, and the bread was hard and not warm. I sucked it up and ate some of the sandwich, but absolutely could NOT eat the fries. I ordered a WHISKEY smash according to the happy hour menu. When I get my check, it wasn't a whiskey smash and wasn't the happy hour price. It was a watermelon smash. So after waiting to get Tony's attention, I was able to address the error which was about a $3 difference. After he takes it to change it (5-10 mins), I'm immediately ready to pay. He walks away, so I wait another 20mins for him to come back to simply pick up the check and run my card. I hated I didn't have cash! So I stood up to indicate that I needed him to finish the process so I could leave. My friends are moving to "the island" and wanted to celebrate on a Saturday night. We fortunately didn't have to wait for a table and was sat right away. The waiter seemed a bit preoccupied and my friends weren't happy with his demeanor. I was looking for something filling, but not too overwhelming and chose the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. Unfortunately I was not impressed. I'm greedy and sometimes neatly lick my plate. I didn't finish the sandwich or fries. My friends were just "ok" with their wrap selections. The pepper jack cheese added another subtle kick, and the grilled peppers and onions made for a great finish to each bite. The sourdough bun was soft but way too big for the small chicken breast. There were several bites of nothing but bread once I got to the end of the sandwich. The fries were average -- crispy but with very little salt or seasoning. Yummy dinner after a long day of driving! Gumbo, Tug's Spring Salad, Blackened Chicken Pasta! The salad was so good. The dressing was paired perfectly with the salad. The walnut encrusted goat cheese was a perfect accompaniment to the cranberries and walnuts. Hubby loved his pasta dish and I tried it too and loved it. Would have liked if they added shrimp and sausage along with the chicken. But the flavor was amazing. They have outdoor seating too! All the servers wore a mask. Probably about 25% of the patrons had on masks coming to the restaurant. Tables are probably a little closer than they should be. I felt comfortable eating outside though. Amazing view! So today's server, was very engaging, albeit she got our bills completely wrong.. We went there for lunch and got there before the rush. A party of 11, they wouldn't pull the tables together even though we called in advance and asked for arrangements. They said they could accommodate us. When we got there, the hostess said they couldn't pull the tables together so we end up sitting in 3 separate areas. The apps came out before the drinks, 2 of us got cocktails of which we had to return because they were horrible, flat beer. We ordered Cajun chicken sandwiches to wit there was NO Cajun flavoring at all, very bland. The gumbo was actually the best thing that came out of the kitchen and that dish came out after I had to ask for it again. We went there with such high expectations, we'd been there before and were pleased, not this time. Our family was visiting and we were doing the touristy thing, bragging about Mud Island and were drastically let down. As stated in the opening, the bills were supposed to be split and my daughter got the brunt of the charge. We ended up working the bill out ourselves afterwards. To put the nail in the coffin, the air-conditioning was not working! The waitress was wearing a portable fan around her neck. We should've been told when we called that there was a problem. I'm not pleased with our purchase of almost $400! Nothing was removed from the bill.
