We have been eating at Huey's since I was a child and the quality of food here has dropped so significantly that I am surprised they are still open. My daughter's chicken nuggets were overcooked, my burger was incredibly salty, my son's fixings on his burger looked like they were fresh yesterday. We paid extra for dipping sauces and were missing a side. Quality control was no where to be seen, but we sadly weren't surprised. We have giving this Huey's multiple attempts to change our minds but sadly they continue to disappoint. read more

Living here for almost two years and I finally was able to try out Huey's. A bunch of went after a tournament so I was surprised how busy they still were at that time of night. We did have to wait a bit since we were a 9 top, but once seated our server was on top of everything even tho she herself was busy with her other tables. The cheese fries was ordered for apps. I ordered the sunshine burger. It was cooked perfect as pink throughout and the egg with it is a perfect match. My husband got the smash burger with tots which this wasn't his first time eating at Huey's. Definitely a spot that goes in my list when I want a good burger. read more

Service was off a bit tonight. Took over 5 minutes for the hostess to show up and seat us and other waiting customers. She was in the back. The server arrived promptly and took our drink orders and told us about some new menu items. Drinks took a while to show up and the waitress was slow to return to take our food orders. This will be quick. Ordered takeout reuben sandwich and fries. Probably the best reuben I've ever had. Thick stacked corned beef, perfect amount of sauerkraut and cheese with thousand island dipping sauce. Had a unique smoky flavor, must've been from the grilled bread but it was delicious. We love Huey's! It's a Memphis/ Shelby County staple! Everything on the menu is great, and we have probably had everything at least once. Our favorites are the cheese fries, fried pickles, World famous Huey burger, West Coast burger, Señor Huey, Southern Style Chicken Miners, chicken pineapple kebabs, Steak on a stick, Buffalo tenders, Thai Chicken Salad, catfish, and onion rings. They have the burgers available as turkey or vegetarian as requested as well. Our waitress was super sweet, gave us carafes for our tea and water, and made a quick correction when we realized one of the sweet teas hadn't been sweetened. All the locations have theming tied to the schools closest to it with Memphis area sports and music tied in. It is technically like a bar/diner, but definitely kid friendly. I often end up here with coworkers or friends but it's not typically a place I'd pick to go to. It's taken me awhile to find what I like here but I've found I absolutely love the grilled chicken kabob if I'm not in the mood for anything else. I dislike the Cheesesteak unless I add extra cheese which transforms it from plain to delicious. The Little Miner's Trio was adorable and I loved it but I hope I can ask to get two of one. Hueys for dinner today. He had a chicken salad I had salad with a steak sandwich. Sever came by for our orders. We both asked for xtra dressing. My bar drink came. Then my tossed salad. No straws no napkins. 1dressing on huge salad just didn't work. So we waited. 10 min. Still waiting. 10 min more waiting. 30 minutes server finally brings it all and he asked for my dressing again. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. During my visit, I was overcharged on my bill, after my second stop at the restaurant they showed me their mistake. All good I was fine with that, but still haven't been reimbursed after a month. Mistakes can happen, but the unwillingness to resolve the issue left me feeling taken advantage of and unappreciated as a customer. The food itself was fine, but the lack of accountability and customer service overshadowed everything. I want to thank Huey's for offering a turkey burger in place of a beef burger for any of the burger offerings. I've never seen this offered at another restaurant. My husband has a mammal meat allergy so can't eat a traditional hamburger. I would like to say when my sister and I drove from Middleton TN to Collierville. I told sister how yummy it was to eat here- I used to come with my BFF all the time. She passed away recently, but I remembered how we used to love it here. So I took my sister here and we ordered a french dip, a Ruben sandwich, and onion rings. Our onion rings were doughy in the middle but overdone on outside. I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by sending things back, but I did tell our waitress about the onion rings. My french dip also had the onions and sauce on it, but it had a strange twang to the taste, I wound up not eating it. The waitress did offer us onion straws, but they were very greasy too. My sisters Ruben sandwich was also very greasy- when we got home she had terrible stomach cramps and wound up throwing up. I was very worried and thought about taking her to the doctor if it didn't stop. I was so surprised. My husband and I both have loved to eat here for years. We just loved coming to Huey's! I do want to say out waitress was very nice, but it was the food that made us very sick and we just wanted to make everyone aware. My initial thoughts walking in, dive bar vibes. Low lighting a little grungy but in a clean way. I had a turkey burger and a shrimp po boy. The turkey burger was pretty good. A slight taste of freezer but very mild, I would eat it again. The shrimp po boy was more like a shrimp sandwich/hoagie. Didn't make my top lost but also not the worst I've had. I wouldn't call it a po boy, it is made on hoagie bread not French bread. The remoulade has more of a chipotle taste to it, no bad just different. I wouldn't order it again. My friend had a club, said it was delicious. Our servers name was Max, he was efficient while not being over bearing. We had a small issue and he more than fixed it and immediately. The face has changed to a little more corporate and less dive bar feel, however, the staff still makes it feel like a neighborhood place which I like. Pretty crowded on a Friday night around 8:45 and we had a ten minute wait. We ordered cheese fries as an app, and that was enough fries for five people! Tip: When you order a sandwich or burger they don't automatically come with fries, you have to order them separately. One order of fries is enough for two people. I ordered the French Dip, it was thin and a little chewy. If I had it to do over again I would have ordered a burger, that's what they are known for. You can ask for an ice cream if you are ordering from the kids menu. Overall good experience. read more

We grabbed the stickiest, dirtiest menus I've ever seen - that should've been my first clue this wasn't going to end well. My daughter has a dairy allergy so we asked about bread options. Menu said the burger did not come with mustard/mayo etc. I figured it was because of the egg. I asked the waiter who said folks don't normally do condiments on this burger. Unfortunately with no condiments & an overcooked fried egg, the burger ended up tasting VERY dry. Steak fries were good. Service was OK. However, my mom's burger was supposed to have lettuce, tomato, onion - it had none of that and so they brought it to the table on a small paper plate for her to add it to her burger!
