Living here for almost two years and I finally was able to try out Huey's. A bunch of went after a tournament so I was surprised how busy they still were at that time of night. We did have to wait a bit since we were a 9 top, but once seated our server was on top of everything even tho she herself was busy with her other tables. The cheese fries was ordered for apps. I ordered the sunshine burger. It was cooked perfect as pink throughout and the egg with it is a perfect match. My husband got the smash burger with tots which this wasn't his first time eating at Huey's. Definitely a spot that goes in my list when I want a good burger. read more

With a group that had been here before. I ordered appetizer that was cold, and I had to ask for re-heat, and was treated in a surly fashion. The chips were also cold and tasted like the day before's. The servers attitude was definitely " I do not wish to be here." The people at the table beside also had to ask for something to be reheated. The server arrived promptly and took our drink orders and told us about some new menu items. Drinks took a while to show up and the waitress was slow to return to take our food orders. I called Huey's after a to go order full of mistakes. I told them I was calling to let them know. I told them was not looking for compensation. The gal I was talking to insisted they would make it right. I said okay. She said "Max" or another name I do not recall would call me right back. No one ever called. We ordered a West Coast Beyond Burger without mayo, add mustard and a Beyond Burger without mayo, add extra mustard and avocado. We both had fries. The sandwiches and fries were cold. Both burgers were missing lettuce, onions, tomatoes and mustard. The West Coast Burger did not have the usual guacamole. The Beyond Burger had three tiny slices of avocado for $1.75 extra. The bill was $41.21. I added a $5 for the takeout order. The total was $46.21. My husband ate half of his burger. I at the BB patty and measly three slices of avocado. I still have not heard from them. The gal told me that our patronage meant something to them. I would not have written this review if they had called me back as they said they would. We will not go there ever again for take out. We won't be going back. We have friends that invite us to go there a lot. Not sure if we will do that anytime soon. :( read more

Thick stacked corned beef, perfect amount of sauerkraut and cheese with thousand island dipping sauce. Had a unique smoky flavor, must've been from the grilled bread but it was delicious. We have been eating at Huey's since I was a child and the quality of food here has dropped so significantly that I am surprised they are still open. My daughter's chicken nuggets were overcooked, my burger was incredibly salty, my son's fixings on his burger looked like they were fresh yesterday. We paid extra for dipping sauces and were missing a side. Quality control was no where to be seen, but we sadly weren't surprised. We love Huey's! It's a Memphis/ Shelby County staple! Everything on the menu is great, and we have probably had everything at least once. Our favorites are the cheese fries, fried pickles, World famous Huey burger, West Coast burger, Señor Huey, Southern Style Chicken Miners, chicken pineapple kebabs, Steak on a stick, Buffalo tenders, Thai Chicken Salad, catfish, and onion rings. They have the burgers available as turkey or vegetarian as requested as well. Our waitress was super sweet, gave us carafes for our tea and water, and made a quick correction when we realized one of the sweet teas hadn't been sweetened. All the locations have theming tied to the schools closest to it with Memphis area sports and music tied in. It is technically like a bar/diner, but definitely kid friendly. I often end up here with coworkers or friends but it's not typically a place I'd pick to go to. It's taken me awhile to find what I like here but I've found I absolutely love the grilled chicken kabob if I'm not in the mood for anything else. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. During my visit, I was overcharged on my bill, after my second stop at the restaurant they showed me their mistake. All good I was fine with that, but still haven't been reimbursed after a month. Mistakes can happen, but the unwillingness to resolve the issue left me feeling taken advantage of and unappreciated as a customer. The food itself was fine, but the lack of accountability and customer service overshadowed everything. I would like to say when my sister and I drove from Middleton TN to Collierville. I told sister how yummy it was to eat here- I used to come with my BFF all the time. She passed away recently, but I remembered how we used to love it here. So I took my sister here and we ordered a french dip, a Ruben sandwich, and onion rings. Our onion rings were doughy in the middle but overdone on outside. I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by sending things back, but I did tell our waitress about the onion rings. My french dip also had the onions and sauce on it, but it had a strange twang to the taste, I wound up not eating it. The waitress did offer us onion straws, but they were very greasy too. My sisters Ruben sandwich was also very greasy- when we got home she had terrible stomach cramps and wound up throwing up. I was very worried and thought about taking her to the doctor if it didn't stop. I was so surprised. My husband and I both have loved to eat here for years. We just loved coming to Huey's! I do want to say out waitress was very nice, but it was the food that made us very sick and we just wanted to make everyone aware. A slight taste of freezer but very mild, I would eat it again. The shrimp po boy was more like a shrimp sandwich/hoagie. Didn't make my top lost but also not the worst I've had. I wouldn't call it a po boy, it is made on hoagie bread not French bread. The remoulade has more of a chipotle taste to it, no bad just different. I wouldn't order it again. Pretty crowded on a Friday night around 8:45 and we had a ten minute wait. We ordered cheese fries as an app, and that was enough fries for five people! Tip: When you order a sandwich or burger they don't automatically come with fries, you have to order them separately. One order of fries is enough for two people. I ordered the French Dip, it was thin and a little chewy. If I had it to do over again I would have ordered a burger, that's what they are known for.
