Fish and crisps (subbed for chips) and shepherd's pie

What a great time! Cregeen's seems to be moving away from an Irish-themed menu and incorporating more dishes from different cultures. Food was great and in generous proportions. Great staff and service. The space has several floors, with live music on the second when we visited; I'm not sure whether it's accessible to folks with mobility challenges. A door was open to the balcony, which has a great view of Main Street.

    Duck two ways so good!

Very chill place staffed by amazing employees. Service so friendly and fast, I swear my pint was never empty great bartender. The fish and chips were good but my coworkers raved about the choice of shepherds pie but the duck wings were stellar. Duck seasoned , hot and so darn good. Probably the best duck dish have had in a long time.

Stopped in for dinner after work, seemed like a good place to have dinner and a micro brew. The bartender let me sample a few if the drafts, and I settled on a Tiny Bomb American Pilsner, a Memphis local brew. I ordered the shepherds pie, at the bartenders recommendation (pictured). The best thing about the shepherds pie, in my opinion, is that it did not contain lamb. Other than that, I'd say that it was better than average - but not exceptional. My serving had too much salt and some other spice which I could not identify. Pros: * atmosphere. This definitely has an enjoyable brewpub vibe, with its large wooden pillars and loft seating; * draft selection. For a dry county, they had almost 30 beers on tap. That's pretty good; * service. Bartender was very helpful and cheerful. Cons: * the side salad. It's pretty bad. The version I had was full of stale lettuce and powdery cheese. Four stars for me. I am not blown away, but I am satisfied.

Great local pub. Everything good relative to the area. The only spot consistently busy at later hours downtown for a reason.

This is a great friendly spot for drinks and food. The bartenders were very welcoming to somebody who was far from home.

From start to finish, Izzy, Samara, and their entire team delivered an experience that truly exceeded every expectation. Their professionalism and communication were outstanding throughout the entire planning process. They were proactive, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful--true problem solvers who made us feel completely supported and confident every step of the way. It was clear from the beginning that they genuinely cared about making this a meaningful and memorable evening for our family and the special couple. The private room was absolutely perfect--intimate, beautifully arranged, and very easy to personalize with our own decorations. It created exactly the warm and special atmosphere we had hoped for. The menu was another highlight: a wonderful variety of options with a refined, elevated feel, all at a very reasonable price point. Every guest found something they loved, and the quality of the food was consistently impressive. Most importantly, we do not have a single complaint--only an abundance of praise. Our guests are still talking about how fantastic the evening was. We are so grateful to Izzy, Samara, and the entire Bog & Barley team for helping us create such a joyful and unforgettable celebration.

Recommend the pimento cheese bread sticks for appetizer or any other time. Also, this was the first time I've had a Kilkenny draft which was another highlight. I see now it's rare to find. Smooth and creamy. If I lived nearby, I would be here more often. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the price and experience. Just pointing it out to expect to pay, but also pointing out it was worth every cent.

We ate in here last night for the first time. I got take away once a long long time ago, like 5-6…read moreyears or so. It is a divey bar/Irish pub. There was music playing the whole time but not loud at all - loud enough you could hear it but it didn't impede upon your conversations in the slightest. And by the way the music they had playing last night (Tuesday Feb 10 2026) was EXCELLENT!! I felt like I was at a bar from my youth with that soundtrack. We started with 2 appetizers, pub pretzels and the Celtic queso dip. The pretzels came with honey mustard and some of the queso. The Celtic queso has tortillas and what appeared to be house made potato chips. Both were very good! The 2 adults had some beer on tap. A Yeungling and a 201 Hoplar. Kid (well he is 21 but doesn't drink) had a coke. Entrees were a smash burger with fries, a Buffalo chicken sliders with onion rings, and a shepherds pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. Everything was very good! Often fried things are either over or under done and come out not great however whoever was working the fryer was on it because the onion didn't pull out of the rings when you bit it and the okra was still nice inside the breading. Excellent waitress who kept checking on us and nice environment. What's not to like!! Definitely will return.

But I was super impressed with the quality of the food! I expected a dive. And it is. But the food was fabulous!! Also, our waitress was excellent. Kudos to her. The inside is fun. Definite dive bar energy. We went all in. Appetizers, drinks, entrees. I regret nothing. We started with the queso appetizer and the pub pretzels. Both were very tasty. My one and only critique is that I wished the queso appetizer included some veggies like celery or carrots or something other than just chips. My son ordered the smash burger. Husband got the shepherds pie. I got the buffalo sliders. I like my buffalo chicken to be saucy. So I requested extra sauce. The kitchen seemed to misunderstand and instead of extra saucy, they put my sauce on the side and none on the chicken. Our waitress offered to send it back. That was not necessary. So she brought me lots of extra sauce. Incredible. The sauce was excellent. The chicken was excellent!!! Superb quality. Honestly, quite possibly the highest quality piece of chicken I've had on a chicken sandwich. Tender, moist, flavorful, and a large piece of meat. Very very impressed. I got the onion rings, at the suggestion of our waitress. They were fantastic. Washed it all down with a Yuengling. Truly, I can't say enough about this place. I was highly impressed. Most of the other customers appeared to be regulars who were seated at the bar. There were only a few groups seated at traditional tables. It was a Tuesday evening so I'm sure it's much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Oh - and just as we were leaving, they were setting up for karaoke. Apparently Tuesdays are karaoke night. Oh! And! The check was $77. That's with three beers, a Coke, two appetizers, three entrees! Not bad. Not bad at all!!
