I am an absolute Bog & Barley fan but this review comes with disappointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is always great and showed up for Easter brunch after church to a live performer singing some great late 90s/early 2000 tunes (pure nostalgia).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress was nice but not very attentive. Focused more on the larger table which I get but I also am a paying customer. Food came out quick and hot and always for a great price. I was hoping for their crispy brussels sprouts but they do not serve for brunch/lunch so had to go with ole faithful "The Scotch Egg". If you have never had one you should definitely try it and the mustard sauce is amazing with it. Unfortunately for you reading this, I didn't get a picture because I devoured that thing the second my plate hit the table!!! For my main meal I went with the corned beef reuben which you can see in the picture just looks thrown together on the plate (very unappealing). The corned beef was a bit dry and tough, the "special sauce" was non existent and couldn't even taste. The best part about a reuben is the crisp buttery rye bread but with this sandwich it sadly was not toasted at all which really takes away from the flavor as well. The chips were just your standard frozen bits but add some salt and ketchup, you're good to go. To top off I went with the crème brûlée for dessert which is always a winner. I will more than likely return as I do enjoy the restaurant and hope that my next experience is a bit more enjoyable.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as you walked in to the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a wall of beautiful bar area. You don't see many around here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food and drinks were spectacular! Our server gave us really good recommendations for all and she was spot on. We went with Burger and Fish & Chips and finished off our meals with two types of desserts. Love em both but I personally think the chocolate cake is a must. They definitely lived up to one of the best places to dine in town.

We made a reservation at Bog & Barley for St Patrick's day! The restaurant was extremely busy, but we were seated quickly. Our waiter, Jay was great! He made sure we were taken care of and got everything we needed. He also had great recommendations for drinks. We started off with the Pimento Cheese Toasty, it was to die for. I would 100% order this again. Their Wedge salad is one of my favorites in all of Memphis, the perfect combination. The Burger with the secret sauce is chefs kiss especially paired with their fries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though it was crowded, the environment was great. They had live music but it was the perfect amount of volume. We were still able to have conversations and enjoy the band![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also could make any beer green. We will be back and maybe even again next St. Paddy's day!

Had another great meal here tonight. They got us in with no reservation on a very busy Fri night. Drinks and food were excellent. Service always top notch. Upscale Irish bar ambiance. I dropped by here for a late lunch. My delicious meal consisted of Scotch Eggs, Roasted Beet Salad, Irish Chicken Curry, and Guinness 0 (zero). I was seated almost immediately, and given an iced water to drink. My nonalcoholic beer from the bar arrived about ten minutes later. The delay was why I declined two separate offers for a refill. There were no patrons sitting at the bar. I'm unsure if they even had a bartender on duty. The first course of my meal arrived about fifteen minutes after I was seated. The pacing was spot on for my other two courses. I was checked on by my waiter at acceptably intermittent intervals. (I'm also thinking that my waiter had other duties, such as checking-in patrons at the front entrance, perhaps.) It's nice that this place still offers nonalcoholic beer. They even applied a decorative feature onto the foam of my Guinness. It was a nice touch. Four stars. I especially recommend the new menu item: Roasted Beet Salad. I plan on returning here again.

Best Thanksgiving ever?? Fantastic Facility!! Gorgeous woodwork, super high ceilings, second floor, just an incredible build out, must've cost a fortune! Service could not have been better! You can tell the servers were raised right! We had the artichoke and an Irish bread plate appetizers. The artichoke was exceptional! We had a variety of meals, hamburger with duck fat chips, Thanksgiving turkey dinner, fish and chips.... All were great. Finished up with chocolate cake with ice cream and sticky toffee pudding.... Just a fantastic experience overall .....

I know I might get some backlash for this but this place is Trash Can Water! I ended up here with my mother in law for her birthday. I ordered the fish and chips playing it safe and for almost 30 bucks it came with 2 pieces of fish and a splash of French fries. My uncle also ordered the same as me and we both where like Dam did we order a kids meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was fine tho and its a cool atmosphere if you into Irish Pub[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but everybody food was not up to par with Pics or word or mouth my mother in law heard.

What can I say? I was truly pleasantly surprised by my experience at Bog & Barley. From the moment I walked in, the aesthetics alone set the tone--simply beautiful. The restaurant is filled with rich mahogany wood, imported from Ireland, and the intricate carvings and overall architecture are absolutely stunning. I arrived around 8 PM, a busy dinner hour, and was quoted a 10-minute wait that ended up being about 30 minutes. No big deal--I grabbed a couple of beers at the bar and caught some of the Memphis Grizzlies game while waiting. We were eventually seated at high-top tables along the main aisle near the entrance. At first, I wasn't sure I'd like those seats, but they turned out to be surprisingly comfortable, and with TVs on every wall, it was easy to keep up with the game. For dinner, I ordered the lamb meatloaf with mashed potatoes, peas, and carrots, plus a side of asparagus. I had never tried lamb meatloaf before, but it was incredibly delicious. Honestly, everything we had was great. Bog & Barley is definitely a spot I'd be proud to bring anyone--one of the standout restaurants Memphis has to offer.

We came here for our anniversary and got seated at a cute little table near the fireplace in the front. We had a very attentive waitress and they even gave us a small dessert for our anniversary for free. The food was amazing. My husband had the burger and I had the grilled salmon and both were delicious.

*this is my second review of this restaurant* I almost rated this review 1 star per shrimp in the shrimp cocktail appetizer I would like to begin this review by saying when I order a shrimp cocktail appetizer I am expecting multiple shrimp even Kroger gives you like 30 shrimp in your cocktail I was presented with five they were not jumbo sized. They were regular sized shrimp. I was also presented with a gravy boat sized helping of dip for which I do not know how I was supposed to use all of this dip with only five shrimp in the appetizer. I did enjoy every bite of shrimp but the ratio of the appetizer while sharing with my husband was 2.5 shrimp a piece. We also ate the garnish because we were so hungry. I hope it was lettuce and not parsley lol. As we moved on with our courses, my husband enjoyed two Guinness, one had a snowflake stamp. The other was bald. I enjoyed two very heavily poured mule type drinks. They were absolutely delicious. Again, I ordered the bangers and mash while my husband ordered a ribeye with the crispiest brussels sprouts you've ever seen in your life. Every single thing we ate, tasted like it was delivered straight from the gods. The chocolate cake was absolutely divine, but was about the size that you would think would be served in munchkin land. The taste was great. Would it deter me from coming again and ordering exactly the same thing? No it would not. Would I like the slice of cake to be bigger?absolutely. Would I appreciate at least three shrimp per person at the table? Yes I would. Do I have a single complaint about the flavor of the food? Absolutely not. I hope this review helps you to understand what a great time we had while wishing we had just a little bit more. We had a reservation booked on OpenTable and seated upstairs in the bar area totally alone. It was nice and private however, we did not have a great view of the rest of the restaurant. That being said, we were treated very attentively by our servers, which were at the upstairs bartenders. Zero complaints about service we will absolutely be back. The only thing that would've made this dinner better would be as stated previously more shrimp and a win for the Arkansas Razorbacks--having to sit directly next to the TV while they were completely slaughtered by Missouri put a slight damper on the night.

I've been a patron at TJ Mulligan's Trinity for many years since I could remember. When it came the menu selection I've always been pleased with sandwiches like cheese steak with Au Jus or a corn beef press. Burgers are juicy succulent with a side of fries all have been piping hot with flavor. But what I would recommend their Boom Boom chicken with Boom Boom sauce on a bed of fries. I like a little kick to my food so that's my favorite. Outside of dining I love watching the live bands perform at TJ Mulligan's Trinity. My most favorite form of entertainment though would be the poker. I use to play here when another league use to run it on select nights. Now Memphis Grinders Poker Club runs the games on Sunday's 3&5, Wednesday's at 7&9 at TJ Mulligan's Trinity. The service here is great offering a full bar with the coldest beers & a mixologist who'll mix you anything you want. Their service is quick and attentive as the largest parties they have there are on Sunday & Wednesday nights with Memphis Grinders Poker Club. They are top of it regardless the size of group. They also keep their dining rooms & bar areas very clean as they take pride in their establishment & patrons that walk through. Don't take my word for it come see it for yourself. The menu clearly listed the Chicken Quesadillas for $8.95 and the Pizza for $13.95. However, when I placed my order, I was told the Chicken Quesadillas were actually $11.95. When I questioned the price difference, the employee admitted they had not updated the online menu and even said they had "been here for years" without changing it. That is unacceptable. If your website advertises one price but you charge another, customers are being misled. At the very least, the restaurant should update its website or honor the advertised price. Having outdated pricing online for years is not good business practice. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity was added to my order. I don't believe gratuity should automatically be charged without clearly informing customers or giving them the opportunity to decide what they want to tip, especially when there is little or no table service involved. I also ordered a pizza, and it was another disappointment. It looked like a frozen boxed pizza that could have come from a grocery store rather than something made by a restaurant. It certainly was not worth the price. Because of the inaccurate menu pricing, the automatic gratuity, and the poor quality of the food, I left without purchasing the Chicken Quesadillas and have no plans to return. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and provide accurate pricing and better food. I cannot recommend TJ Mulligan's based on my experience. I hope management updates their website, ensures pricing is accurate, and improves the quality of the food and overall customer experience.

That nostalgic feeling of being in a beautiful tavern is pure delight. Absolutely beautiful restaurant, truly deserves limelight recognition in Germantown. Our darling Annalise server was extremely friendly. We loved the presentation of our dinner, but the octopus was a bit soft for our taste. I've had plenty of octopus in other cities and understand the dish is typically more expensive, but a small single mediocre tentacle is quite pricey for $28. I personally prefer a crispy and firmer chew for octopus. The scallops and shishito peppers were a delightful pairing. Valet parking shouldn't be forced upon the customer though? I felt bad that I don't carry cash to tip the valet, and valet is mandatory unless you want to park on the side streets and walk over. Do carry any cash! I wish that a portion of the parking lot was open for self parking though as those boys don't need to help out every guest who don't need valet and subjecting them to wait around for the boys to grab cars that we're perfectly capable of doing ourselves.

Normally it comes with vegan sausage. No. Absolutely not. Life is too short. I asked if they could substitute chicken instead. They didn't blink. No sigh. No "let me ask." No drama. Just an effortless, "Sure." About four minutes later--and I was the kind of hungry where I'd have considered eating the menu--that masterpiece landed in front of me. Friends... I've eaten breakfast from San Francisco to New York, from roadside diners to hotel brunches where they charge you because they know you'll pay. This was the best breakfast hash I've ever eaten. The chicken was juicy. The sweet potatoes had actual personality instead of being sugary mush. The sautéed spinach deserved its own fan club. Then there was the sunny-side-up egg. Listen carefully. A proper sunny-side egg is one of the great disappearing arts. This one had crisp edges worthy of applause while the yolk remained gloriously molten, ready to flood every bite with liquid gold. Not greasy. Not overloaded with salt. Not trying to impress Instagram. Just perfect. Then there was the vodka. And bless these people... When they say "well vodka," they apparently interpret that as, "Let's not insult the customer." They pour a genuinely respectable shot instead of the microscopic chemistry experiment too many places call a cocktail. It arrived with our chasers in what felt like under a minute. That's confidence. That's hospitality. That's Memphis. The music stayed exactly where good restaurant music belongs--in the background. Cool enough to create atmosphere but never loud enough to hijack conversation. Whoever curates that playlist deserves a raise. I intended to carefully analyze every flavor. Instead, I inhaled the contents of that little cast-iron skillet with the elegance of a starving wolf wearing a necktie. By the time I thought, "I should really study the seasoning..." there was nothing left but an empty cast-iron skillet, one lonely hash brown that had escaped onto the plate like the last survivor of a glorious battle, and absolutely zero regrets. Here's the dangerous thing about Liquor Store: Nothing feels forced. Nothing screams for attention. Nobody acts like they're doing you a favor. The entire experience is so effortlessly dialed in that excellence feels completely ordinary--which is probably the highest compliment I can give a restaurant. We had a long drive ahead of us toward Bristol, and I genuinely didn't want to leave Memphis because it meant leaving this place behind. If I were on death row and the warden slid the final meal request across the table? I'd hand it back with two words. "Liquor Store." Then I'd ask Tyler to bring one more of those gloriously generous well-vodka pours while the kitchen wizard cracked one last sunny-side egg--the kind with crisp, lacey edges and a yolk so perfectly runny it ought to be protected by federal law. Needless to say, we'll be back.

The Liquor Store never disappoints. I ordered the Cuban Queso Burrito, and it was outstanding. The…read morechicken was incredibly flavorful, the queso tied everything together, and every bite was delicious. I also tried the Blueberry Pie Latte, which tasted just like blueberry pie in a cup. It was the perfect pairing with brunch. Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly service. I'll definitely be back.
