Fish and chips

Decided to try Maeve's Tavern Monday night. Good overall service. Ryan was nice and recommended nice foods for us to try. Started off with the Scottish egg and crab toast. Different types of appetizers. The crab toast had a sauce on it that was very thick. Not sure if I would order them again. Great presentation of both apps. For dinner my friend and I had the fish and chips. That dish was delicious. Came with a large piece of fish, good hot fries, tartar sauce, and a small serving of buttery peas. My other friend had the Reuben sandwich that came with fries as well. I tried some of her sandwich and it was very good and balanced with the corned beef, sauerkraut and toasted bread. We ordered a creme brûlée and Guinness chocolate cake with a coffee flavored sauce on top. The topping was so good. The creme brûlée was perfect! The manager or owner came by to inquire about our food and evening. That was a nice touch. The place is pretty large with many booths, tables and chairs. There is a full bar. It was Monday night so they were hosting a trivia game night. The restaurant is clean and spacious. We stayed a long time and no one was asking us to leave so that was nice. When we did scoot out, the manager told us good night. I will return to try some other dishes.

Welcome to Collierville, Maeve's! We are so happy to have you here! You will be on our regular rotation now. I can't wait to explore the menu more. We stopped in on the opening week, on the evening of 7-5-25. Not sure what to expect, but way more than pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. They are in a soft opening stage at the moment with a full food menu, but abbreviated booze menu. They will get their liquor license soon enough! Some of the cocktail options looked great. So many things went so well, especially for a brand new place! We were lucky enough when we walked in to get a table right away. No wait at all, I am sure that will change soon. We had a great young server named Mia. Her family was actually sitting in another servers section so it was cute to see her nervously interact with them. You could tell she wanted to make a good impression for not only us, but everyone around, including her family. She did a great job taking care of us. We had a variety of things. The actually arrived in order from my favorite to least. Guinness was great! Nice pours and only slightly sloppy on the second one. LOL. We started with the Scotch Egg. Loved it! The egg was perfect, the sausage was crispy, and that freaking sauce was killer! I could eat three on my own. Oysters Kilpatrick was next. Nice sized oysters, lots of bacon, needed more bang of worshtershire if you are going to say the word. Not sure I even spelled it right. That's just me. Great dish though. Proper Roasted Potatoes are fantastic! They do serve them with camouflaged mayo. Don't get suckered now. C likes them with the banging tartar sauce they have. I dunked them in chicken gravy, which should be an automatic option I will say. Crispy Brussels were also a five star grabber! Nice flavors, great char, loved the reduction with the pecans! Yum. Yum. Eat em up! Really good stuff. Maeve's Stuffed Chicken Cutlet - Bacon, Cheddar, Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Jus It was only $20, I should have known better. Don't sell another one like what I had please. No. No. Mashed potatoes and gravy was good. Broccoli is just green stuff. I expected a Cordon Bleu type thing, not so much. I wanted the Bread Pudding, but got the check without question, instead. Oh well.... There is next time! I will make it happen! You will see me here again and again. It's pretty close to the house. Thank you for investing in the community and the local businesses you support while doing so. Glad you are here. '25 - 66/111

Guinness Beer

Fantastic Service and Exceptional Food presented in a warm and inviting Irish Pub. The Guinness flows icy cold, fresh, and tasty here! Absolutely, the best Burger and Fries I've had since I can remember ~ and I routinely travel the World The Deviled Eggs are wonderful, too!

You can peek the pictures for everything ordered. I'd call this place mostly meh. Fish N Chips weren't special. I do enjoy the duck fa fries. Small tastes were just average. Nothing exactly stood out. It didn't give off a Pub type vibe, unlike Bog and Barley. They just slapped a new title on the Highlander and changed the menu. Wait staff was good, no problems there. Just not a place I think you'll find yourself craving.

We sat at the bar and over all our visit was pretty good. The French fries were super crisp which I prefer. We got so many fries because we also got the duck fat fries. And the bag fries. I felt the duck fat ones were much better than regular. The bag fries had peppers and chicken in it but it was not much chicken or pepper to be honest. The egg was interesting, tasty, but the mustard was very powerful. And I like mustard!

Delicious food and wonderful service. We loved the space and it was perfect for a date night. I got the fish and chips and my husband got the burger.

Irish Irish Irish (Fancy Restaurant)…read more This was the first experience making reservations for an Irish pub, but it was way more than a pub. Think date night. The food was a delight! Recommend the pimento cheese bread sticks for appetizer or any other time. Also, this was the first time I've had a Kilkenny draft which was another highlight. I see now it's rare to find. Smooth and creamy. If I lived nearby, I would be here more often. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the price and experience. Just pointing it out to expect to pay, but also pointing out it was worth every cent.

The service was fantastic. Some appears to be rush or don't want to be bothered. But overall, they…read moreare very good. Fanatic decore, and ambiance. It is a good place to go to socialize. Unfortunately, the food has been consistently underwhelming during my recent visits. I first ordered the lamb chops. They were not what I would consider traditional lamb chops and were surprisingly chewy and difficult to enjoy. I returned and decided to try the Irish Curry Chicken. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dishes I've had there. The menu described it as chicken thigh, but it was clearly chicken breast. The dish lacked basic seasoning and flavor. There was very little salt, umami, or curry flavor. The rice was wet, overcooked, and mushy. Overall, the entire meal tasted like something taken from a grocery store freezer section and reheated. At this point, I would recommend sticking to the fries and the burgers, which remain the strongest items on the menu.

We ate in here last night for the first time. I got take away once a long long time ago, like 5-6…read moreyears or so. It is a divey bar/Irish pub. There was music playing the whole time but not loud at all - loud enough you could hear it but it didn't impede upon your conversations in the slightest. And by the way the music they had playing last night (Tuesday Feb 10 2026) was EXCELLENT!! I felt like I was at a bar from my youth with that soundtrack. We started with 2 appetizers, pub pretzels and the Celtic queso dip. The pretzels came with honey mustard and some of the queso. The Celtic queso has tortillas and what appeared to be house made potato chips. Both were very good! The 2 adults had some beer on tap. A Yeungling and a 201 Hoplar. Kid (well he is 21 but doesn't drink) had a coke. Entrees were a smash burger with fries, a Buffalo chicken sliders with onion rings, and a shepherds pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. Everything was very good! Often fried things are either over or under done and come out not great however whoever was working the fryer was on it because the onion didn't pull out of the rings when you bit it and the okra was still nice inside the breading. Excellent waitress who kept checking on us and nice environment. What's not to like!! Definitely will return.

Deeeeeelicious and fun. We had never eaten in here although we'd talked about it dozens of times…read more (I think we picked up here once many years ago but I don't have strong memories of it.) But I was super impressed with the quality of the food! I expected a dive. And it is. But the food was fabulous!! Also, our waitress was excellent. Kudos to her. The inside is fun. Definite dive bar energy. We went all in. Appetizers, drinks, entrees. I regret nothing. We started with the queso appetizer and the pub pretzels. Both were very tasty. My one and only critique is that I wished the queso appetizer included some veggies like celery or carrots or something other than just chips. My son ordered the smash burger. Husband got the shepherds pie. I got the buffalo sliders. I like my buffalo chicken to be saucy. So I requested extra sauce. The kitchen seemed to misunderstand and instead of extra saucy, they put my sauce on the side and none on the chicken. Our waitress offered to send it back. That was not necessary. So she brought me lots of extra sauce. Incredible. The sauce was excellent. The chicken was excellent!!! Superb quality. Honestly, quite possibly the highest quality piece of chicken I've had on a chicken sandwich. Tender, moist, flavorful, and a large piece of meat. Very very impressed. I got the onion rings, at the suggestion of our waitress. They were fantastic. Washed it all down with a Yuengling. Truly, I can't say enough about this place. I was highly impressed. Most of the other customers appeared to be regulars who were seated at the bar. There were only a few groups seated at traditional tables. It was a Tuesday evening so I'm sure it's much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Oh - and just as we were leaving, they were setting up for karaoke. Apparently Tuesdays are karaoke night. Oh! And! The check was $77. That's with three beers, a Coke, two appetizers, three entrees! Not bad. Not bad at all!!
