Maeve's Tavern is one of those places that just gets it right. From the moment you walk in, there's an easy, welcoming feel. It's comfortable without trying too hard, lively without being loud. It's the perfect sibling to Celtic Crossing and Bog and Barley. I was especially happy to see Sky Dog Lager on tap. It's a great local choice. Refreshingly crisp. The real standout is the fish and chips. It was so good I forgot to grab a picture. Not a hint of greasiness, but all the flavor. It's a big piece too, not fish sticks. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite and ease into how good it is. Easily among the best I've had around here. This is quaint Irish pub with a lively atmosphere and great food. We had the steak and chips (delicious), the crab cake (very good), the wedge salad (also good) and tried the duck fat fries and garlic mashed potatoes (which had actual garlic cloves), both were fantastic! Unfortunately the only issue was with our server, Mia. She wasn't friendly and outgoing. We asked about the oysters and she couldn't answer our question, she said she didn't really know much about oysters. The correct response should've been "let me find out for you." We wanted a second order of fries as well as ketchup, but she was nowhere to be found. Her overall attitude seemed like she wasn't interested in being there. Decided to try Maeve's Tavern Monday night. Good overall service. Ryan was nice and recommended nice foods for us to try. Started off with the Scottish egg and crab toast. Different types of appetizers. The crab toast had a sauce on it that was very thick. Not sure if I would order them again. Great presentation of both apps. For dinner my friend and I had the fish and chips. That dish was delicious. Came with a large piece of fish, good hot fries, tartar sauce, and a small serving of buttery peas. My other friend had the Reuben sandwich that came with fries as well. I tried some of her sandwich and it was very good and balanced with the corned beef, sauerkraut and toasted bread. We ordered a creme brûlée and Guinness chocolate cake with a coffee flavored sauce on top. The topping was so good. The creme brûlée was perfect! The manager or owner came by to inquire about our food and evening. That was a nice touch. The place is pretty large with many booths, tables and chairs. There is a full bar. It was Monday night so they were hosting a trivia game night. The restaurant is clean and spacious. We stayed a long time and no one was asking us to leave so that was nice. When we did scoot out, the manager told us good night. I will return to try some other dishes. read more

Welcome to Collierville, Maeve's! We are so happy to have you here! You will be on our regular rotation now. I can't wait to explore the menu more. We stopped in on the opening week, on the evening of 7-5-25. Not sure what to expect, but way more than pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. They are in a soft opening stage at the moment with a full food menu, but abbreviated booze menu. They will get their liquor license soon enough! Some of the cocktail options looked great. So many things went so well, especially for a brand new place! We were lucky enough when we walked in to get a table right away. No wait at all, I am sure that will change soon. We had a great young server named Mia. Her family was actually sitting in another servers section so it was cute to see her nervously interact with them. You could tell she wanted to make a good impression for not only us, but everyone around, including her family. She did a great job taking care of us. We had a variety of things. The actually arrived in order from my favorite to least. Guinness was great! Nice pours and only slightly sloppy on the second one. LOL. We started with the Scotch Egg. Loved it! The egg was perfect, the sausage was crispy, and that freaking sauce was killer! I could eat three on my own. Oysters Kilpatrick was next. Nice sized oysters, lots of bacon, needed more bang of worshtershire if you are going to say the word. Not sure I even spelled it right. That's just me. Great dish though. Proper Roasted Potatoes are fantastic! They do serve them with camouflaged mayo. Don't get suckered now. C likes them with the banging tartar sauce they have. I dunked them in chicken gravy, which should be an automatic option I will say. Crispy Brussels were also a five star grabber! Nice flavors, great char, loved the reduction with the pecans! Yum. Yum. Eat em up! Really good stuff. Maeve's Stuffed Chicken Cutlet - Bacon, Cheddar, Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Jus It was only $20, I should have known better. Don't sell another one like what I had please. No. No. Mashed potatoes and gravy was good. Broccoli is just green stuff. I expected a Cordon Bleu type thing, not so much. I wanted the Bread Pudding, but got the check without question, instead. You can peek the pictures for everything ordered. I'd call this place mostly meh. Fish N Chips weren't special. I do enjoy the duck fa fries. Small tastes were just average. Nothing exactly stood out. It didn't give off a Pub type vibe, unlike Bog and Barley. They just slapped a new title on the Highlander and changed the menu. Wait staff was good, no problems there. We sat at the bar and over all our visit was pretty good. The French fries were super crisp which I prefer. We got so many fries because we also got the duck fat fries. And the bag fries. I felt the duck fat ones were much better than regular. The bag fries had peppers and chicken in it but it was not much chicken or pepper to be honest. The egg was interesting, tasty, but the mustard was very powerful. And I like mustard! read more

A wonderful surprise on the cozy Collierville square. It's pretty expansive inside: warm, a few different rooms to dine in and a spacious bar. Same fit and finish as Bog and Barley, but not as hectic. Maeve's a ballad more than a stadium anthem (Bog and Barley). The food exceeded expectation. The Spice Bag was fantastic...and could easily be a meal on its own. Beautifully seasoned, the chips were perfect, and the chicken was savory. Going for a curve, as I don't think of Pompano when I think Irish cuisine, I took a swing. And for a song, why not? The delicacy of the Pompano meets a decent wallop from an earthy tomato based sauce. Despite its novelty, it absolutely delivered. A heckuva portion for a measly $24 as well. That said, all the portions were very healthy for the price expected. The service (we came in lateish on a weekend), though slow to start, was attentive and cordial. A fine showing from a place that hasn't been open that long. Yes, it's a haul, but it's a great place to disconnect from the madness of metro Memphis. A restful walk around the square, the wind in the trees, the bandstand/gazebo/whatever in the middle of the Square, with nary a base level Altima with blackout windows and a fake drive-out tag in sight. This is hearty food to match with a pleasant scene. Despite the drive from west Gtown, I'm hopeful this will become a standard in the rotation when dining out. read more

I was able to visit Maeve's Tavern tonight. The food was excellent and more important the service and management were outstanding. Our waiter was great and you could see management actively working to mitigate through expected challenges of opening a new restaurant. We will definitely be back and it is great to have another option for dinner in Collierville. read more

The food is always great. Fish and chips, great portion size and tasty. The shepherds pie, good portion size and yummy. The appetizer of chicken tenders and fries are to die for this should be a dinner menu item not just an appetizer! Service is good. First time here tonight and what a surprise! It was sooo good!! Loved the shepherd's pie more than my own -- and being a family fave, that's saying something! Hubs really enjoyed the burger and chips (fries), and we rounded it out with a wedge salad with the yummiest buttermilk dressing, and the Guinness chocolate cake, served with a decadent butter coffee/caramel type sauce. My husband and I love bog and barely so were excited to have a sister restaurant closer to us. My husband said the fish and chips at Maeve's are even better than bog and barely! I enjoyed the fish and chips but wish they had the fish sandwich. My brother in law devoured the Rubin saying it was the best he's had. We also shared the pigs in a blanket which were good and the Dijon served with it was delicious. The Irish spice bad was my favorite appetizer. The restaurant is decorated as a more upscale Irish pub which really adds to a date night or special occasion. read more

I had family in town on St Pat's Day & the three of us went in for lunch. We ordered the Cabbage Steak, Shepherd's Pie, and Corned Beef Reuben. The Cabbage Steak was about .5" thick and had a nice char to it. The Shepherd's Pie had a rich beef gravy, peas & carrots and ground beef topped with mashed potatoes that was seasoned perfectly. The Rueben was loaded with tender shredded corned beef, sour kraut, and a 1000 island like dressing. The Rueben was accompanied by fries and a pickle spear. The fries were ok but the sandwich was the star of that show. We shared an order of bread pudding which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was spot on. Our server was friendly and efficient. The food was delivered very quickly when the restaurant was at about 80% capacity. I'll definitely be back. read more

We ordered takeaway on a Sunday night (2 fish and chips, one steak and chips). Our food was ready very promptly. My wife is from the UK and said it is the best fish and chips she has had since she moved to the US 10+ years ago. I had the steak and chips which was prepared perfectly. Next visit ordered burger again and it was completely different , no sauteed red onions just a ok burger with pickles and lettuce? We visited Maeve's Tavern to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and were beyond impressed. A new restaurant is often still working out the kinks weeks after opening, but we definitely didn't find that here. Our server Denise was phenomenal! She offered menu suggestions, brought drink refills BEFORE we even had to request them, and was very attentive throughout. The staff also worked as a team in bringing entrees and clearing plates, and there were several members of management checking on guests. They genuinely care about your experience. From start to finish, everything we ordered was outstanding. We look forward to returning and trying more items on the menu. P.S. Last night my husband had dinner at Maeve's Tavern. This was our third time there since their opening. Twice, I had the Bangers and Mash which is very good (the first time, there were no peas...the second time there was) and the Pavlova. The first time I had the Pavlova it was wonderful! Perfect! The meringue was a bit indented in the center as it should be, it had a good amount of curd which is really what makes the diah, a little bit of cream, and lovely fruit. The second Pavlova I had was a bit different. There was more meringue and less curd and a bit more cream. If last night had been my first time to have the Pavlova, I would not reorder. Too much meringue in the center, almost no curd at all, and a lot of cream that tasted very salty. My husband said the same about his. It was disappointing to say the least. Maeve's is within walking distance from our house and Guinness is my favorite beer so were hoping the Tavern would have consistency leaning toward the good side which is the key to a customers return. Nice change of environment & menu from the previous business. Great location on the Collierville square, quaint area to walk around before or after a meal. Food was pretty good, not quite to the level of their partner restaurant Bog & Barley, but not bad. I can chock that up to only have being open for a couple of weeks before we had dinner here. Service was overly attentive, we made a reservation in the post-peak dinner hours and were just wanting to enjoy a nice meal... but we were checked on about every 5-10mins by 4 or 5 different people, which made the whole experience feel rushed. This seems to be a common thing in this part of the US, and I'm not sure why. When I go out to eat I go to enjoy a drink or two and a meal, I'm not trying to set a speed record for eating. I don't want to sit at a table for two and a half hours, but I also don't want to be force-fed and pushed to the door in 45mins if that makes sense? Definitely a lot of potential here, good ingredients, nice environment, capable staff... just needs a bit more refinement. I'll try it again soon. read more

A couple of us Visited for the first time for brunch. One of the most disappointing experiences. Nothing was terribly bad; just no taste to the food Both of our items were very very very bland. If you were to close your eyes and eat you would not be able to tell what your food was. We added deviled eggs with pimento cheese. Nah, no flavor whatsoever. Neither did the hash or omelette. For $48 for two you would hope to have a tasty meal. Perhaps it was just brunch. Not sure if I would want to try lunch or dinner. Service was okay. read more
