Went with a couple friends and it was an alright experience. It's sad when you go to an Irish pub and the best food you eat is the chicken tenders. The fish & chips were good, but a very small portion. The Irish coffee had too much whiskey, did not taste the coffee at all. Waitress got my order wrong multiple times. Did not receive chips with my fish, but mashed potatoes that I had made clear were separate; mashed potatoes had gravy even though I said no gravy, making the waitress roll her eyes and stomp away to get a new plate. The best part, and saving grace, of Celtic Crossing is its location. I love the inside, it is very cozy and like stepping into an Irish pub in Ireland. In the middle of Memphis the whole area was hopping. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The service was sketchy at best. We had to get up several times to get her for service. Ver nice place for lunch. Parking on the street and out back is limited however there are several places to visit is you park farther away and have to walk. Plenty of places inside and out to sit. Server was super friendly and attentive. I had the rueben and fries with an apple cider made from multiple varieties of apples for a very nice crisp finish not too sweet or tart. Great Irish pub, with better than expected food (I say that since pubs are sometimes hit or miss). Great server who made recommendations on drinks and food. I had a special martini, but I was especially happy with the correct temperature of the Guinness (castle cold for the full flavor). For dinner we had the burger and chicken sandwich, with the pimento cheese and bacon fries as a starter. It was all tasty, definitely recommend the seasoned fries. Great Irish pub in Cooper Young. We returned to Celtic Crossing to check out their new menu items. I got the watermelon and heirloom tomato salad and added a cup of the County Kerry Colcannan soup . I can't believe I lived in Memphis for 20+ years and never made it to Celtic Crossing. I heard great things about it over the years but for some reason never paid it a visit. But on a recent visit, I finally did and regret not going sooner -- it was so good. And well worth the wait. I ordered the Celtic Burger and wow-oh-wow it was good. The house-blend beef patty was hefty and cooked perfectly. The American cheese paired well with the juicy beef, and the secret sauce added a tangy note to each bite. The seeded potato bun did a great job of holding everything together. But it was still a messy sandwich as many great burgers are. The steak fries were relatively typical -- crispy and lightly salted. I would upgrade to the seasoned fries next time. The drink selection is expansive, but I do with they had more hard cider options. I loved the ambiance inside -- it was cozy and made me feel as if I had been transported to a pub in Ireland. Ok so beer is beer... but was great! The corn beef sandwich was fantastic! Hot, juicy, and toasty but not soggy with the kraut. I wish instead of fries they would have had fried potato chips but I didn't eat them. And the poutine was a very good doing on an Irish version. I still think a real curd could have been added if even small. Still great visit and I highly suggest a pint or more. The ambiance and vibe of the place is exceptional, and the soccer community is unparalleled in Memphis. I would absolutely recommend Celtic Crossing, because the truth is that it's a great company and the owner and management are outstanding. With a few small improvements, Celtic can become even more of a powerhouse in the Memphis community. I know some may balk at this claim, but I think Celtic is one of the most overrated bars/places in Memphis and certainly the most within Cooper Young. I really don't get the draw of this place outside of its Irish heritage. The beers are subpar, the food is average at best, and the cider tastes like what I would imagine urine to taste like... I've never had a thing here - food or drink - where I ever thought "that tastes pretty good" and certainly nothing better than that. Maybe it's just me, but there are too many other great places around and in the city to settle for this. Besides, the service isn't anything to write home about either. When here for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. Well, perhaps now we're better friends after turning me on to this great establishment. The ambiance it's pretty cool, very chill and follows along the lines of many Irish pubs throughout this country. I have never been to Ireland so I cannot say if it is authentic or not. We started off with an appetizer of their handhelds. A slew of meat within a pastry started off a great dinner. For my main course, I had the fish and chips, which also came with peas turn. Do large pieces of cod made for a filling meal. If you have a bigger appetite, you can add a third piece for I believe four dollars. As any good Irish pub, they had a nice selection of beers. Plus, the fish is supposed to be one large fillet, not finger food. Service was good. Guinness was incredibly small. UK/Ireland folk will mock and laugh at your specimen cup of a glass. This is not a review of the food but a huge shout out to the staff. At the cooper young festival I had a health event/scare due to a condition I have and needed AC immediately. We approached them and even though they were packed they couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They let us in, found me a chair, brought me water and checked on me the whole time I was there. I didn't get any names because I was too sick and my family was too worried but I wanted to recognize thier kindness and thoughtfulness. A man I think was the manager was the main one to bring me a chair and ice water and check in, but the hostesses out front came in and check on me as well. I would've liked to have left a note but my husband had managed to being our car right up to the deck and I needed to get home asap. I couldn't have asked for nicer people to help me. Their kindness even though we weren't spending money was outstanding and I appreciate it. We will definitely be back to eat and my husband said the food looked and smelled great and the atmosphere will be so fun when I can appreciate it. Hi fellow yelpers. Been out of touch for a bit so here we go... we decided to be adventurous today and stopped at the Celtic Crossing. We were treated to live Celtic music on the terrace while enjoying our mimosas. I ordered the full Irish galtee mountain breakfast, consisting of black and white pudding, Irish sausage,2 eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious! They also give you a slice of home made Irish soda bread, a dense, non yeast bread that was quite tasty. The wife chose to go safe and have a celtic burger, the meat was cooked perfectly but the secret sauce was definitely the winner on this burger. Tangy but not overwhelming. I really like the atmosphere here. They also do a great job of making authentic pub food. I know bar food usually sucks and is greasy but apparently pub food is completely different. I have mostly enjoyed everything I've eaten here! However, the Magnus beer I liked last time isn't here anymore. Surprisingly I even enjoyed their Goat Cheese Dip when I usually dislike goat cheese. Or at least I haven't liked it in solid form. I had no idea the Delicious Dublin Duo was shrimp so I was pleasantly surprised to eat that. Ambiance is nice. Food is quite expensive and comes with very little per serving. I spent 17$ (before tax or tip) on "fish 'n chips". What I got was two small (chicken tender size) pieces of fish and maybe 15 fries. The service was fine. Not great but not terrible. read more

This place is loud with crowds watching football from Europe if you happen to be thee during a match, which we were. We were a part of 12 for brunch and although we had reservations, they had nothing set up for us. We ended up pushing tables together ourselves and having to clean them because they were filthy. Service was spotty at best. My wife had shrimp and grits which was average at best. I had what they called potato hash but had no resemblance to any hash I have ever had before. Basically just fried potatoes with some meat of some kind mixed in. Not much flavor at all. So, an experience that was average and bordering on bad. Then the check came and they had a 3% kitchen appreciation fee!!! So I had to appreciate a kitchen that made me average to bad food! What a joke. This might be a good bar to have a few pints, get drunk and watch Manchester United. But if you are looking for a clean restaurant with decent food, this should not be on your list. read more
