Table game. I can't remember the name but it was super fun.

Friendliest neighborhood bar I've ever been to! They learn your name right away and make you feel right at home. You can order pizza from the pizza shop next door and they'll bring it right over to enjoy in the pub. There's a pretty large selection of beer and you can get peanuts too. Definitely check them out the next time you're in the neighborhood.

A favorite amongst residents in the High Point Terrace area of East Memphis, High Point Pub will barely fit about 25 or so people in the whole joint, yet its neighborhood proximity and simple charm (not to mention the cheap beer) keeps the joint alive and kicking. Small but oddly cool, High Point Pub may not have a lot of room to mill about, but it does have a mighty fine beer selection to quench your thirst. One of the best kept secrets in town, visit the place that is proud to be one of the smallest bars in Memphis and figure out yourself why the Pub is the place to be in High Point.

Recommend the pimento cheese bread sticks for appetizer or any other time. Also, this was the first time I've had a Kilkenny draft which was another highlight. I see now it's rare to find. Smooth and creamy. If I lived nearby, I would be here more often. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the price and experience. Just pointing it out to expect to pay, but also pointing out it was worth every cent.

The waitress was nice but not very attentive. Focused more on the larger table which I get but I also am a paying customer. Food came out quick and hot and always for a great price. I was hoping for their crispy brussels sprouts but they do not serve for brunch/lunch so had to go with ole faithful "The Scotch Egg". If you have never had one you should definitely try it and the mustard sauce is amazing with it. Unfortunately for you reading this, I didn't get a picture because I devoured that thing the second my plate hit the table!!! For my main meal I went with the corned beef reuben which you can see in the picture just looks thrown together on the plate (very unappealing). The corned beef was a bit dry and tough, the "special sauce" was non existent and couldn't even taste. The best part about a reuben is the crisp buttery rye bread but with this sandwich it sadly was not toasted at all which really takes away from the flavor as well. The chips were just your standard frozen bits but add some salt and ketchup, you're good to go. To top off I went with the crème brûlée for dessert which is always a winner. I will more than likely return as I do enjoy the restaurant and hope that my next experience is a bit more enjoyable.

About the Yelp reviews... Whoever, in times past, found fault in the food, service or anything else, must have arrived already a sourpuss. Our experience: Supernice, superfriendly, superefficient, superprofessional service. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Really good food. Fish & Chips: crispy, succulent, non-greasy. Bangers & Mash: Mild, tender sausages zinged with some ale-tangy onions. Shepherd's Pie*: simply delish. All the food arrived hot. But even IF the food had been 3-star instead of 5-star, we'd still have had a grand time because of the people. #Way2Go *I'm asking, not arguing, here, but shouldn't Shepherd's Pie, by definition, be made of lamb? Anyhoo, no quarrels tonight.

I believe the place was empty when we took a seat at the bar but another party of 2 followed shortly behind and sat a little bit further down the bar. I tried something that sounded better than it tasted but ultimately this is a matter of personal preference and I have a high maintenance palate. The people next to us got wings, which looked good until they were dangerously close to a leak that had sprung from one of the exposed pipes above. They had to move to a table behind us and then some of the staff got a bucket to place on the bar to catch the dripping water but that made a very loud noise so then they put a towel inside of the bucket. I will admit that I have never experienced such a thing before. It looked like the pipe that was dripping had tape wrapped over that area so they had tried a "bandaid" fix in the past but it didn't work. Obviously, this does negatively impact the "ambiance" portion of the overall experience and getting the impression that this is an issue that could have been fully addressed previously but the decision was made not to. It wouldn't stop me from going back but it certainly isn't ideal.

There was music playing the whole time but not loud at all - loud enough you could hear it but it didn't impede upon your conversations in the slightest. And by the way the music they had playing last night (Tuesday Feb 10 2026) was EXCELLENT!! I felt like I was at a bar from my youth with that soundtrack. We started with 2 appetizers, pub pretzels and the Celtic queso dip. The pretzels came with honey mustard and some of the queso. The Celtic queso has tortillas and what appeared to be house made potato chips. Both were very good! The 2 adults had some beer on tap. A Yeungling and a 201 Hoplar. Kid (well he is 21 but doesn't drink) had a coke. Entrees were a smash burger with fries, a Buffalo chicken sliders with onion rings, and a shepherds pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. Everything was very good! Often fried things are either over or under done and come out not great however whoever was working the fryer was on it because the onion didn't pull out of the rings when you bit it and the okra was still nice inside the breading. Excellent waitress who kept checking on us and nice environment. What's not to like!! Definitely will return.

But I was super impressed with the quality of the food! I expected a dive. And it is. But the food was fabulous!! Also, our waitress was excellent. Kudos to her. The inside is fun. Definite dive bar energy. We went all in. Appetizers, drinks, entrees. I regret nothing. We started with the queso appetizer and the pub pretzels. Both were very tasty. My one and only critique is that I wished the queso appetizer included some veggies like celery or carrots or something other than just chips. My son ordered the smash burger. Husband got the shepherds pie. I got the buffalo sliders. I like my buffalo chicken to be saucy. So I requested extra sauce. The kitchen seemed to misunderstand and instead of extra saucy, they put my sauce on the side and none on the chicken. Our waitress offered to send it back. That was not necessary. So she brought me lots of extra sauce. Incredible. The sauce was excellent. The chicken was excellent!!! Superb quality. Honestly, quite possibly the highest quality piece of chicken I've had on a chicken sandwich. Tender, moist, flavorful, and a large piece of meat. Very very impressed. I got the onion rings, at the suggestion of our waitress. They were fantastic. Washed it all down with a Yuengling. Truly, I can't say enough about this place. I was highly impressed. Most of the other customers appeared to be regulars who were seated at the bar. There were only a few groups seated at traditional tables. It was a Tuesday evening so I'm sure it's much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Oh - and just as we were leaving, they were setting up for karaoke. Apparently Tuesdays are karaoke night. Oh! And! The check was $77. That's with three beers, a Coke, two appetizers, three entrees! Not bad. Not bad at all!!
