I've been a patron at TJ Mulligan's Trinity for many years since I could remember. When it came the menu selection I've always been pleased with sandwiches like cheese steak with Au Jus or a corn beef press. Burgers are juicy succulent with a side of fries all have been piping hot with flavor. But what I would recommend their Boom Boom chicken with Boom Boom sauce on a bed of fries. I like a little kick to my food so that's my favorite. Outside of dining I love watching the live bands perform at TJ Mulligan's Trinity. My most favorite form of entertainment though would be the poker. I use to play here when another league use to run it on select nights. Now Memphis Grinders Poker Club runs the games on Sunday's 3&5, Wednesday's at 7&9 at TJ Mulligan's Trinity. The service here is great offering a full bar with the coldest beers & a mixologist who'll mix you anything you want. Their service is quick and attentive as the largest parties they have there are on Sunday & Wednesday nights with Memphis Grinders Poker Club. They are top of it regardless the size of group. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at TJ Mulligan's on Trinity Road in Cordova. Before visiting, I downloaded the restaurant's menu directly from their website. The menu clearly listed the Chicken Quesadillas for $8.95 and the Pizza for $13.95. However, when I placed my order, I was told the Chicken Quesadillas were actually $11.95. When I questioned the price difference, the employee admitted they had not updated the online menu and even said they had "been here for years" without changing it. That is unacceptable. If your website advertises one price but you charge another, customers are being misled. At the very least, the restaurant should update its website or honor the advertised price. Having outdated pricing online for years is not good business practice. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity was added to my order. I don't believe gratuity should automatically be charged without clearly informing customers or giving them the opportunity to decide what they want to tip, especially when there is little or no table service involved. I also ordered a pizza, and it was another disappointment. It looked like a frozen boxed pizza that could have come from a grocery store rather than something made by a restaurant. It certainly was not worth the price. Because of the inaccurate menu pricing, the automatic gratuity, and the poor quality of the food, I left without purchasing the Chicken Quesadillas and have no plans to return. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and provide accurate pricing and better food. I cannot recommend TJ Mulligan's based on my experience. I hope management updates their website, ensures pricing is accurate, and improves the quality of the food and overall customer experience. read more

I'm a regular at this location. I started going here around 2021. It place of regulars. You see the same friendly crowd nightly, good bar food. The bartenders are spot on they do a great job. I will NOT spend my hard earned money in this place (and I make pretty decent money). First, they charge $5 covers for bands that are just so-so -and they are too loud for the size of the place - to the point where you can't converse with the person next to you. Second, which is probably why I will NOT return, is that they allow smoking. I couldn't even sit the bar without this nasty lady blowing smoke in my face the whole time. No selection of porter or dark beers. So yeah, I spent $20 for a couple crappy beers, music that was way too loud, and had to do laundry and take a shower as soon as I got home. Here recently management and staff has changed for the worse on the weekends (thurs,Fri,sat). Great local hangout to catch a game and to meet friends! The food in fantastic! They really actually have the best burger in town (better than Huey's...sorry Huey's) and their lunches are great home cooking! Just tried the brunch for the first time and the loaded hash browns were loaded with chili, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham and more and were really wonderful! They have really great local bands which we kinda take for granted in Memphis until you go to another city and hear a band and realize Memphis has some of the best music in the world...and TJ Mulligans at this location has Beale Street quality bands (in a safer local)! read more

I first started going here when I checked in to a Xerox office close by in the late 90's and it has been a spot that I have dropped into occasionally for a snack and refreshments. The pub food here is good and the boom boom chicken is the star of the menu with an interesting twist on a buffalo style sauce with a medium kick. They get zero stars honestly. We have been here 2 times the first time the customer service was cool and laid back. O last night it was not at all we was on a date night couple outing we was ordering drinks playing pool and order a pizza the waiter name Sha got mad because we was ordering drinks all night and told me when we was about to order one last drink "do you want the drink free" I thought she was making a joke at first I said yeah and laugh it off I said "naw fr I would like to order 3 more drinks" she said naw I don't work for free you been ordering drinks all night I was like what you didn't even give me time to give you a tip once we was done I refuse to tip anybody all night and that wasn't the sad part she was talking about me to other customers like I had did some wrong and called security because I was ordering drinks all night and didn't give her a tip right off the back. Liz the bartender who we had never seen at this location before... she sure is a handful. I was not involved in the situation but witnessed an older gentleman telling two you females to jump up and down so he could see their breasts. Then Liz took his side and got mad at the females & asked them to leave. I just find this unprofessional and was a bit surprised that Liz did not take their side since he was sexually harassing them. The other bartenders did not notice what was going until it was too late but did try to resolve the issue professional. They have watered down the wine the past 2 times I've been. Then they LIE about why they did it. The first visit, the bartender said it's because it's the bottom of the bottle and that is why it's watered down. That doesn't happen and even if it did, you knowingly served me watered down wine and wanted me to pay full price for it? On the second visit, it happened again. This time, I spoke with the manager. He claimed it was because the cork fell in and the wine was old. Again, didn't happen. You're saying I am the ONLY patron to order this house wine and it sat there so long that it got watery and stale? AGAIN, that didn't happen, but AGAIN, you're knowingly serving me "stale" wine and charging me for it? The manager never apologized and he acted like he was doing me a huge favor by removing my $5 glass of water off the tab. Pathetic. Both visits, both waitresses told me they could tell the wine was watered down, and the other people I was with could tell also. So it wasn't in my head. Stopped in today for my fix of corned beef on marbled rye, with a side of brew fries. Yummy. The place was packed and the one bartender/waitress could not have been better. There was about 40 people and we didn't wait for anything. I would love to know where they get the marbled rye from cause it's just like my great grandmother's. Happened to be in the neighborhood and had some time to kill so here I am. So let me start with the Bloody Mary, one of my favorite. Zing Zang mixer with a pickle, olive and they coat the rim with I am not sure what but it's some kinda dry rub. Service is always good for a bar. We have now been back several times since my last review and I must add another star for several reasons. Two of those reasons are our server Brittany and the manager Joe. Every time we get Brittany as our server everything is perfect. We get our drinks CDL and quick, our food hot and quick and a smile with every "is everything okay?" She is awesome and I hope she sticks around. Joe was great. We had never met him before, but he came out and introduced himself and asked if everything was good and that if there was anything wrong to let him know. After ribbing him a bit about the team on his hat and praising our awesome server, he stuck around and chatted with us after learning we were originally from the same area. He was very nice and seamed to genuinely care about the customers. Finally, the food. Each of the last few times we have been in the quality of the food was better than what you would expect in a bar/restaurant. The Ruben is one of the best I have ever had and their brew fries and cheese dip pair great together. I suggest trying this place for a good relaxing time. read more

Good food, good service Our group had dinner recently at T.J. Mulligans since a couple in our group truly enjoy "the best burgers in Memphis". We had a great time and great service. Be warned - the place is very smokey since they permit smoking; our clothes smelled of smoke when we got home, but that came out in the wash. I decided to try the Fried Onion Burger - since I like onions. They even put onions IN the burger as well as have deep fried onions on top. My burger was pretty good, but a wee bit overcooked. The beer battered fries were quite good as well. Although the burger was good, I'm afraid it was not the best I have had in Memphis. You can decide for yourself. read more

we have been here many many times before and it has always been great, until last night. there was a young lady there who was screaming at my husband and being extremely racist, rude, loud, and causing everyone outside to be upset and the staff sided with her because she's "a regular". so they dismissed her behavior and actions and told us we had to leave and the only reason they could give us was "because we were making her upset". absolutely ridiculous. will never be back. they need to hire staff who will learn to not side with people just because they're regulars and also learn to kick people out who are being blatantly racist. read more

We recently went to TJ Mulligans on Trinity for the first time after living in Cordova for four years. Yikes! The minute you walk in the place smells heavily of smoke though I didn't observe anyone smoking. The place really needs an upgrade, too. The carpets were frayed and taped, the bench pillows were stained, everything looked like it needed a good wash. Because the walls are exposed brick, I doubt that they have ever received any attention whatsoever. When we were seated, we noticed the table was sticky and asked the wait person to wipe it down. A flicker of annoyance crossed her face but she complied. After that, she was rather friendly. Our food was served in a timely manner. It was rather tasty and was well priced. Nonetheless, the meal does not compensate for the restaurants other problems and we will not be returning. read more

I will mention one thing straight off the bat: I've been coming here for years, since I was a kid. That sounds crazy now, but before the smoking in 21+ bars only law got passed, anyone could come here. So anyway, my point is, I've been coming here for a long time. But sadly, that means I've seen the huge drop in quality. Since that ordinance passed, that's around when the drop happened. It seems like they just stopped trying to cater to people wanting food and just catering to those who want alcohol. I don't care if people want to come here to drink and smoke, I come here expecting to leave reeking of smoke and to be choking on smoke the whole time (the ventilation in here can suck a lot, even when they're dead and there's no one right by you smoking, they don't even try, not even after expanding). The food. Ugh, they're famous for their roast beef sandwich. It used to be amazing, although there's not much to it. The past multiple times I've gone, the sandwich is barely heated anymore. I could just make a cold roast beef sandwich at home. The fries are always pretty cold and taste like they've been sitting around for a while. I can complain and ask for a hot sandwich and hot fries, yes, but it's always impossible to get someone to check back on you once your food's basically been all but dumped on your table. Basically, if you're not a barfly, you're gonna get crap service, and even then from what I've observed, you've gotta sit at the bar itself because the waitstaff are not going to check up on you if you're sitting at a table. I've come during lunchtime during the week, weekday evenings, weekend lunchtime, and weekend evenings so it's not a matter of coming at the wrong time. The service sucks all the time now. read more

I have been to so many sports bars in Memphis, & I have to say this has been the worse for me. I went there expecting to play trivia, & I even called that morning to ask if trivia was still on the schedule. I was assured that there would be trivia that evening as scheduled. When my friends & I arrived, the bar was packed & there was only 1 table left. Our server greeted us & we informed her that we were there for trivia. She then told us that trivia was canceled because of the game. What the heck. Did the person I spoke to just a few hours earlier not get that memo? We stayed for a typical bar food dinner & watched the game for a little while. My husband ordered a domestic beer that was on sale. It took him 5 time explaining to our server what he wanted because she just didn't understand "Ghost River"..... He ended up pointing to a sign on their wall. She understood then. There is nothing special about their "Monday burger night" when they charge extra for cheese or any other condiment that isn't mentioned on the menu. I've certainly had better burgers elsewhere. I think there was probably about 10 French fries on my plate.... I didn't get the mayo I asked for with my burger, my friend didn't get his extra ranch he asked for, & it took moving mountains just to get refills on drinks. We left as soon as everyone finished their meal. This establishment still allows smoking inside. I began feeling ill because the cigarette smoke was overwhelming. I certainly will not return to TJ Mulligans. The service was bad & the smoking is a turn off. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. 3rd glass of house chardonnay was water. Treated me like an idiot by saying it was stale old wine. Doesn't wine improve with age? I have wine in my fridge for weeks. It doesn't get watery. Not only did he cover it up with a lie, he didn't even apologize. I'm a great tipper so it's not that plus they didn't even know me but just hoping I'm an idiot. When you enter you notice one side is the bar area and the other side is a sit down area. You can eat or drink on either side it doesn't matter. For the most part this is a bar. Good place to come in and quinch your thirst, smoke some cigs if your a smoker, or chat it up with one of the patrons. Good place nothing great nothing bad its a bar! I've been to a lot of bars in the Memphis area. I've even worked at a few. When I say that this is the WORST service I've ever had, that's saying a lot because I've had bad service a few times. We came here to watch game one of the Grizzlies-Spurs series of the Western Conference Finals. I've worked in bars when big games are going on (i.e. the Memphis-Kansas NCAA National Championship game a few years back) and the bar I worked at was standing-room only, and I saw better service at that game. No one had to wait more than 10 minutes for anything. I went with my boyfriend, who happens to be a regular and he wanted to go there, so I was okay with that and we sat at the bar. As I continue, bear in mind the bar wasn't particularly busy. The bartender, Amber, was the worst server I've seen, much less had. Boyfriend ordered a bucket of Coors and I had to wait 10 minutes for my pint of Guinness. I know it takes some time to pour from the tap, so I was cool with overlooking that. Then I ordered food. Boom Boom chicken was pretty good. Came out in acceptable time as well. Here's where I have a problem. I finished my Guinness and it took her like 15 minutes to get back to me, at which time I ordered an Angry Orchard. Took a few minutes to get back to me, and I didn't take too long with that one. But it took her a while after that to get back to me. Definition of a while for this wait is 30 minutes, PLUS however long I was outside because I was getting upset, during which time my boyfriend ordered my second Angry Orchard. I later asked how long I was outside and he estimated it was 10 minutes, so total 40 minutes. About 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter I asked for MY tab, as I'd had enough and I didn't want him tipping her on my behalf. I even told my boyfriend that from here on out, if he wants to come here, he will do so without me because you couldn't pay me to come here again. My tab was $22.59. I usually tip well, and even the worst of servers get the base 15%. She got a penny simply because I wanted to round out the tab. I didn't even wait for my boyfriend to tab out because I just wanted out of there so badly. Service like this is inexcusable. read more

Redneck dive bar. Concrete floor with a drain in it so they can hose the place down to clean it out. Lighting is harsh and irregular. Food is mediocre. I only ate half my order and gave up on it. Staff is too busy talking to each other and texting on their phones to be bothered with you. I will never go back. read more

We have been here several times to see bands we like. Recently we visited on Valentine's Day to see one of our favorites, Twin Soul. The night was great up until a fight broke out. It was around 12:30 or so when the morons at the table next to us started trouble with some guy at the bar. The fight broke out and quickly spread to our table. I had enough time to grab my purse and move out of the way. My table was knocked over onto me and my chair knocked over. My beer was spilled, my belongings on my table etc. Now I am not new to bar fights, I have seen my share even been in a few when I was younger. What I am new to is the management not removing both parties from the bar! I was extremely confused that the manager allowed everyone involved in this fight to stay. Our waitress came over to apologize to us and assure us this never happens. OK that is fine but 5 minutes later the two parties involved go at it again! This time we got our tab and left! read more

Stopped in after a show to have a nightcap and catch the end of Thursday Night Football. It's not the neighborhood bar, the dive bar, or the swanky cocktail lounge I usually haunt, but it was a pleasant surprise for what I assume is a copycat chain bar. Really busy, so people must like it. And I liked that it was a racially mixed crowd, though there wasn't a lot of mixing going on. A friendly regular told me there are actually quite a few regulars there, so maybe it is something of a neighborhood bar despite the chain sports bar feel. The bartenders were too busy to be friendly (and the regular patron told me the turnover is high enough that the staff aren't "regulars"), but the vibe was friendly enough. After the game, karaoke kicked in; not my thing, but the quality that night was better than usual elsewhere. It's not a bar I might seek out, but apparently plenty of others do, so that says something. read more
