I came here to meet up with a friend and grab a quick bite to eat. I ordered the Bluff City Burger and the Peanut Butter Banana Pudding. The burger tasted great. You can take the fried onion straws off the burger and treat them like a side. The Peanut Butter Banana Pudding is not bad but I would have preferred regular banana pudding. Service was kool. read more

I frequently order the Steak Stick Dinner at different Huey's locations, and it consistently impresses me--sometimes even exceeding my expectations. However, the Southwind Huey's truly hit it out of the park. The steak was incredibly tender, bursting with flavor, and juicy--OMG, it was a mind-blowing experience! I'll definitely be returning for another round. read more

I decided to opt for takeout from my local Hueys; I must say, I'm happy that I did. My go-to order is their chicken Philly cheesesteak with a side order of sweet potato fries......Don't forget the side of chipotle ranch. Lol First things first, the chicken Philly is packed with all the goodies (green & red peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and black pepper). This pairs very well alongside the chipotle dressing. Lastly, if you've never tried Huey's sweet potato fries, what are you waiting on????? They're sweet, crispy and waffle fries. Overall, customer service and the quality of my food were great and more than sufficient to make me a returning customer. read more

Came here with a large group of people on a Sunday, and we were able to quickly seat ourselves. We had 14 in our party. The waitress was very attentive and took the order quickly. It took awhile to get our food which is to be expected. Food came out hot and as ordered for everyone. read more

Food is average. The service is complete trash, came here to pick up an online order and was forced to tip. They probably force you to tip because they cannot earn it. The ambiance is boring and bland. read more

I was eager to return back to Huey's after moving out to Georgia. I'm glad to say that the place and burgers are still as amazing as I remembered. I went around 6 on a Monday so there weren't a lot of servers it did seem like the waitress was in a rush to get to each table and get food out but she still did a great job even if I had to track her down to get the check. Great environment. I definitely will have to go back before flying back out. read more

Ordered said a certain pickup time after the initial pick up time. Went from 25 minutes to going to be an hour to then taking an extra 25 minutes allll for my food to be soggy. So my order sat in the food window for how long for my food to get soggy? Absolutely ridiculous. Don't recommend. Only gave 2 stars for location. read more

Came here with coworkers for lunch as it's a simple spot with good food and pricing. The customer service was good (you seat yourself) and the wait wasn't that long for service. I ordered the World Famous Huey Burger (Turkey) with all the fixings minus mustard add sautéed mushrooms. You have to order your side separately and I got the Sweet Potato Fries. They did forget the onions for the burger but the waitress brought it right out. Overall, the burger was simple and filling for lunch. I will come back and perhaps try out other items but the World Famous Huey Burger is my go to! read more

Always a good place to go when you have no idea where to go. Friendly dive bar + diner chain in Memphis. Something here to please every picky eater. Steak on a stick is my go-to, if not a sunshine burger. Want to give these guys a big shoutout for being open the entire pandemic. My family may have killed each without the Hueys team. Only recommendation I would have is to turn the salt wayyyyyyyy down. Be sure to shoot some toothpicks at the ceiling or sign your name on a wall or booth. Hueys traditions. read more

We went here after a festival. The service is nice, and pricing is very reasonable. There is a sign upon entry that gratuity is taken out automatically for every party, small or large. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and the food was fresh. read more

Always love Huey's. It does seem some menu things have changed but still just as good service and food.

Always Live my Huey's. Great variety of food even vegetarian items. Service is good and they have music bingo on Friday nites! So much fun.

So I guess there are three of these Hueys in the Memphis area. This one has solid food. The A1 burger was good. The patty was properly cooked but the hamburger patty was obviously previously frozen which affects the texture. The fried pickles were good but it's OK to drain off some of the oil before dumping them in the basket. Service was very good read more

We stopped in yesterday after work. Self seating so we chose a table near the bar. We were about an hour early for the advertised happy hour but we didn't mind. Our waitress was very friendly and immediately took drink an appetizer orders. I chose a basket of fries and a brownie. The brownie was so delicious despite small size. Fries were hot and fresh. Things were going well until we decided to order lemon drop martinis. It took to order. They finally came out but weren't in the traditional glass so we almost didn't know it was our and not another tables order. Not the best martini but it was okay. Over 3/5 for this visit. read more

Disappointing. Given how busy they were, the service was adequate. However, my main entrée was overcooked to the point of being charred. My appetizer arrived at the same time, and was cold. I also disapprove of their practice of still tacking on an 18% service charge on their checks. No wonder why the server was bragging to her friend about how she had made over $300.00 in tips during a recent night. Next time that I need a late evening meal, I will go a few doors down to The Half Shell. read more

Got two grilled cheese Sandwiches for the kids and they were dry, bland and cold. The onion rings are way too big and un edible, loaded tots probably would have been good hot but they too were cold. Maybe eating there would be better or maybe not. read more

The ye old a-1 burger was outstanding! Large hot and delicious! Great char, juicy and cooked right. Big mess of toppings. Everything else was below average. Fried mushrooms, large serving, hot and crunchy but full of oil, too greasy to enjoy. Cold beer but bar drinks were very strong, great alcohol content but not good flavor. Chicken wings and fries ok-right on par with others. Service was decent till we finished waited forever for bill, added dessert and waited another 15 mins. Clean, busy, polite, and very fair prices, but stick with the burgers. read more

Food was good don't get me wrong but the 18% gratuity charge was not. Sign walking into the restaurant says " 18% gratuity after 6pm" we went and dined at 1 pm and we're charged 18%. We then ask why and she then says that the sign says it's charged gratuity from open to close, then we say we'll the sign says otherwise and she says "well that's the rule so" very disappointing- dr Reid read more

Great burgers! We had the Old Tyne A1 Burger and the Madison Avenue Burger with fries and onion straws. They had a great local beer selection with good music and plenty of tvs. The waitress was knowledgeable and it was very clean. Definitely coming back. read more

I ordered a chicken salad, chicken was inedible chewy and funky. The improper storage/cooking of chicken was atrocious, I feel it was left out to dry earlier, grilled, stored, then microwaved because it was so rubbery, the texture was unlike any chicken Ive eaten before. They Did something special to mess it up that bad but make it look edible. I was offered a burger and disappointed with that as well, the onion rings which were over battered undercooked and had skin in them. This goes to show that the kitchen crew here really does not care about their food. Manager was very friendly and offered me a comped meal but I do not want to eat here again and was offered a refund. read more

We made a couple of stops here while in Memphis for work. I asked locals where they are and they all told me to have Hueys. Surely, I sampled a couple of their burgers, sides and apps for a couple of days with no disappointment. Their onion rings were a bit over cooked in my honest opinion but their loaded fries were to die for. Burger and loaded fries is definitely diabetes in a plate but it was one hell of a meal and it was really inviting while I was in there. It had a friendly, neighborhood bar feel. Will definitely miss it down here in GA read more

After a long day moving we decided to finish off the night with a late dinner at Huey's. I ordered the Old Tyme A1 burger with the A1 sauce on the side and switched the bun to brioche. To start we ordered the fried mushroom appetizer and for dinner, Hubby ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with onion rings and my dad ordered their soup of the day (Broccoli cheese) and the fried catfish plate sans the french fries. First off, this is how fried mushrooms should be served. They don't give you a skimpy serving. One order was large enough for the 3 of us to share and have multiple pieces. Breading was great, it wasn't greasy and the horseradish sauce was on point. Only thing was it was so good I burnt a bit of my tongue from eating it while it was still a bit too hot. I ordered my burger medium and it was perfect with a nice crust on the outside but juicy and still a little pink in the middle. The crispy onions and multiple cheeses added great flavor and again it was not greasy. Definitely happy I ordered the brioche bun. If you're an A1 lover, this burger is perfect. And though I like A1, I'm glad I got the sauce on the side because the burger tastes good as is. Gave a piece to my hubby and he really liked it too. In return, he let me try a piece of his sandwich and and an onion ring it was really good as well and the onion ring was huge! My dad liked his meal but just like the mushrooms, the soup came out piping hot so be careful! We all had leftovers since the portions are big but really enjoyed our meal. We look forward to trying more items during our future visits. Thanks Huey's for a great first dinner in Memphis! read more

This is a fun spot to grab a bite. It's mostly a burger joint and the menu is only one side, but they do have a decent variety of burgers, even though the menu isn't the biggest and it is mostly the same food. I ordered the bluez 57 burger. Of course it caught my attention because of the bleu cheese. I also thought the onion strings sounded cool. I'm always a fan of slightly more unique ingredients (but still normal), so the two of them together sold me. The burger was pretty big, and there were tons of the fried onion strings on it. I couldn't even see the burger under the mountain of them! I definitely needed to eat some off the top first before I could start on the burger as a whole. The burgers here don't come with a side. I understand why, because the burger alone is already a nice size, but I still wish it came with something. It just seems like the right thing to do when it comes to burgers! Luckily for me, the many fried onion straws were almost like a substitute. We did end up ordering some fries and onion strings for the table to share though. The fries were ok. The onions were fairly salty but I liked that. The burger was really good and had lots of flavor. It was on the messier side, probably because of the bbq sauce. The atmosphere was cool. Very much a mix between a bar and a restaurant and also a music venue. When we were there they had live music playing. They were really good, but it was also extremely loud inside (even before the musicians). One fun thing is that there are tons of the big toothpicks used to keep the burgers together stuck in the ceiling. I guess it's just something that you do when you visit... they even had instructions/tips on the menu for how to get them stuck up there! read more

Delish food! Came in and self- seated. Nice aroma, clean, and well designed. Outdoor and indoor seating adds a nice touch. The outdoor patio has fans and a band playing on certain nights. A nice bar, and food. The food was delicious! Highly recommend the fried pickles! It was an enjoyable stay. read more

Since yelp won't let me edit anymore, I'll have to copy, paste, and update to raise them one star. The Philly cheesesteak hit the spot. It's the best thing I've had here so far. This is my fourth review for different Huey's locations. My star ratings are 5,5,4, and now 2. I like Huey's because everything's been great and the prices are reasonable for what you get. I'm wanting to try everything on the menu, but now I've found the one thing on the menu that sucks: the tuna steak sandwich. It's terrible, or at least this one was. I don't like that they don't offer a 1/2 pound burger. Instead, they only sell 1/3 lb. I've mainly been sticking with the other sandwiches, but I like the little miners trio. Occasionally, I'll give the server the choice to surprise me with one of 3 or 4 that I can't choose between. Today, I wanted the tuna. This was the worst tuna fish I've ever had. It was over cooked and dried like a bad pork chop. Where's that vibrant red color and the soft flakey flesh? Look at my pictures. I hope this isn't the norm. I really almost sent it back, but I didn't have time for any delays. I ate it anyway. The bread was good. I felt a Deja vu when I walked in the door although I realized I'd never been to south wind before. That's because it was an exact replica of the poplar store. Right down to the last detail. Service was overwhelmed. Our server was working the dining room and the patio singlehandedly. A guy brought food to our table. He neglected to bring our ketchup. It was nearly 10 minutes before we got any. My friend said his burger was good. I'll go up a star next time if the food and service is up to what I normally get. read more

Best burgers in Memphis. Tried the Impossible burger yesterday and it was decent. Nothing like getting the Sunshine burger (medium) though. It's literally the mouthwatering. Even when you order it to go, the quality is all still there. Pre-Covid favorite things about Huey's.. happy hour and late night hours. I ordered Huey's at 11:00 once leaving a function and it was 100x better than settling for Taco Bell (usually one of very few options still open at that time). read more

Huey's... I love you so... My love affair began at the Appletree location. As an young Parkway Village kid we were pumped when we got a new Malco on Ridgeway and Mt. Moriah. We stumbled into that restaurant before a movie one night and things have never been the same. It became our place. You could find us here weekly if not more often. Times have changed and so as it goes, areas change and Appletree is long gone and now houses some paycheck loan places and a Wal Mart for your shopping pleasure. Believe it or not, I didn't even try a burger for many years at Huey's. In fact I am pretty sure I didn't have one at all at the AT location. I was hooked on my old go to, "Wings and a Steak Stick Snack". Every single visit was this for a very long time. Eventually everyone gets burnt out and has to try something different and I have enjoyed every single item but I still dream about the wings... They are just perfect, whole wings, fried, sauced, and then fried again... (I assume this because of texture, I could be wrong) I guess I have been to every location over the years and while every experience hasn't been 4 stars I must say that overall they deserve it. I have even spent a New Years Eve at a Huey's. (I don't remember much of it) It is hard to remember the differences of the stores as I write this but I think that is a good thing. Thank you Thomas for all of the great meals and good times! Thanks to the rest of the family for keeping it great since he has been gone! Bravo! See you soon! read more

I love the chicken wings! The end. Lol no seriously they are delicious whether you get the sauce on or off (I prefer off because the chicken is breaded and sometimes it makes the chicken soggy ) it's really really good. They season it really well and it's fried perfect not too hard but not too soft, and I can appreciate the size of the chicken wings too. Worth the money for the size and I really like there blue cheese. This is my number one door dash go too! read more
