    World famous Huey burger
    Maria V.

I was eager to return back to Huey's after moving out to Georgia. I'm glad to say that the place and burgers are still as amazing as I remembered. I went around 6 on a Monday so there weren't a lot of servers it did seem like the waitress was in a rush to get to each table and get food out but she still did a great job even if I had to track her down to get the check. Great environment. I definitely will have to go back before flying back out.

Great burgers! Friendly waitstaff with great service. Prices are average and beverages are available.

Came here with coworkers for lunch as it's a simple spot with good food and pricing. The customer service was good (you seat yourself) and the wait wasn't that long for service. I ordered the World Famous Huey Burger (Turkey) with all the fixings minus mustard add sautéed mushrooms. You have to order your side separately and I got the Sweet Potato Fries. They did forget the onions for the burger but the waitress brought it right out. Overall, the burger was simple and filling for lunch. I will come back and perhaps try out other items but the World Famous Huey Burger is my go to!

We went here after a festival. The service is nice, and pricing is very reasonable. There is a sign upon entry that gratuity is taken out automatically for every party, small or large. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and the food was fresh.

We stopped in yesterday after work. Self seating so we chose a table near the bar. We were about an hour early for the advertised happy hour but we didn't mind. Our waitress was very friendly and immediately took drink an appetizer orders. I chose a basket of fries and a brownie. The brownie was so delicious despite small size. Fries were hot and fresh. Things were going well until we decided to order lemon drop martinis. It took to order. They finally came out but weren't in the traditional glass so we almost didn't know it was our and not another tables order. Not the best martini but it was okay. Over 3/5 for this visit.

We were able to sit fast. The server was polite and she brought our food Fast. I had a Tito's and tonic to drink. It was good. Happy happy starts at 4pm. Nice comfortable atmosphere Bathrooms clean.

What are the toothpicks about on the ceiling?

Its a tradition to shoot your toothpick into the ceiling. Once a year they hold a contest and people pay to guess the number of toothpicks. The money goes to a local charity, I think lately it has been funneled to the Memphis Zoo.

Recommend the pimento cheese bread sticks for appetizer or any other time. Also, this was the first time I've had a Kilkenny draft which was another highlight. I see now it's rare to find. Smooth and creamy. If I lived nearby, I would be here more often. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the price and experience. Unfortunately, the food has been consistently underwhelming during my recent visits. I first ordered the lamb chops. They were not what I would consider traditional lamb chops and were surprisingly chewy and difficult to enjoy. I returned and decided to try the Irish Curry Chicken. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dishes I've had there. The menu described it as chicken thigh, but it was clearly chicken breast. The dish lacked basic seasoning and flavor. There was very little salt, umami, or curry flavor. The rice was wet, overcooked, and mushy. Overall, the entire meal tasted like something taken from a grocery store freezer section and reheated. At this point, I would recommend sticking to the fries and the burgers, which remain the strongest items on the menu.

Here's a clean, strong review that keeps your energy: Hands down one of the best spots in town. The beer selection is top-tier--something for everyone, whether you're into classics or trying something new. The food is next level, especially the fries... easily top 3 I've ever had. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.

I believe the place was empty when we took a seat at the bar but another party of 2 followed shortly behind and sat a little bit further down the bar. I tried something that sounded better than it tasted but ultimately this is a matter of personal preference and I have a high maintenance palate. The people next to us got wings, which looked good until they were dangerously close to a leak that had sprung from one of the exposed pipes above. They had to move to a table behind us and then some of the staff got a bucket to place on the bar to catch the dripping water but that made a very loud noise so then they put a towel inside of the bucket. I will admit that I have never experienced such a thing before. It looked like the pipe that was dripping had tape wrapped over that area so they had tried a "bandaid" fix in the past but it didn't work. Obviously, this does negatively impact the "ambiance" portion of the overall experience and getting the impression that this is an issue that could have been fully addressed previously but the decision was made not to. It wouldn't stop me from going back but it certainly isn't ideal.

There was music playing the whole time but not loud at all - loud enough you could hear it but it didn't impede upon your conversations in the slightest. And by the way the music they had playing last night (Tuesday Feb 10 2026) was EXCELLENT!! I felt like I was at a bar from my youth with that soundtrack. We started with 2 appetizers, pub pretzels and the Celtic queso dip. The pretzels came with honey mustard and some of the queso. The Celtic queso has tortillas and what appeared to be house made potato chips. Both were very good! The 2 adults had some beer on tap. A Yeungling and a 201 Hoplar. Kid (well he is 21 but doesn't drink) had a coke. Entrees were a smash burger with fries, a Buffalo chicken sliders with onion rings, and a shepherds pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. Everything was very good! Often fried things are either over or under done and come out not great however whoever was working the fryer was on it because the onion didn't pull out of the rings when you bit it and the okra was still nice inside the breading. Excellent waitress who kept checking on us and nice environment. What's not to like!! Definitely will return.

But I was super impressed with the quality of the food! I expected a dive. And it is. But the food was fabulous!! Also, our waitress was excellent. Kudos to her. The inside is fun. Definite dive bar energy. We went all in. Appetizers, drinks, entrees. I regret nothing. We started with the queso appetizer and the pub pretzels. Both were very tasty. My one and only critique is that I wished the queso appetizer included some veggies like celery or carrots or something other than just chips. My son ordered the smash burger. Husband got the shepherds pie. I got the buffalo sliders. I like my buffalo chicken to be saucy. So I requested extra sauce. The kitchen seemed to misunderstand and instead of extra saucy, they put my sauce on the side and none on the chicken. Our waitress offered to send it back. That was not necessary. So she brought me lots of extra sauce. Incredible. The sauce was excellent. The chicken was excellent!!! Superb quality. Honestly, quite possibly the highest quality piece of chicken I've had on a chicken sandwich. Tender, moist, flavorful, and a large piece of meat. Very very impressed. I got the onion rings, at the suggestion of our waitress. They were fantastic. Washed it all down with a Yuengling. Truly, I can't say enough about this place. I was highly impressed. Most of the other customers appeared to be regulars who were seated at the bar. There were only a few groups seated at traditional tables. It was a Tuesday evening so I'm sure it's much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Oh - and just as we were leaving, they were setting up for karaoke. Apparently Tuesdays are karaoke night. Oh! And! The check was $77. That's with three beers, a Coke, two appetizers, three entrees! Not bad. Not bad at all!!
