My go-to order is their chicken Philly cheesesteak with a side order of sweet potato fries......Don't forget the side of chipotle ranch. Lol First things first, the chicken Philly is packed with all the goodies (green & red peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and black pepper). I was eager to return back to Huey's after moving out to Georgia. I'm glad to say that the place and burgers are still as amazing as I remembered. Ordered said a certain pickup time after the initial pick up time. Went from 25 minutes to going to be an hour to then taking an extra 25 minutes allll for my food to be soggy. Came here with coworkers for lunch as it's a simple spot with good food and pricing. The customer service was good (you seat yourself) and the wait wasn't that long for service. I ordered the World Famous Huey Burger (Turkey) with all the fixings minus mustard add sautéed mushrooms. You have to order your side separately and I got the Sweet Potato Fries. They did forget the onions for the burger but the waitress brought it right out. Overall, the burger was simple and filling for lunch. I will come back and perhaps try out other items but the World Famous Huey Burger is my go to! read more

Always a good place to go when you have no idea where to go. Friendly dive bar + diner chain in Memphis. Something here to please every picky eater. Steak on a stick is my go-to, if not a sunshine burger. Want to give these guys a big shoutout for being open the entire pandemic. My family may have killed each without the Hueys team. So I guess there are three of these Hueys in the Memphis area. This one has solid food. The A1 burger was good. The patty was properly cooked but the hamburger patty was obviously previously frozen which affects the texture. The fried pickles were good but it's OK to drain off some of the oil before dumping them in the basket. Service was very good read more

We stopped in yesterday after work. Self seating so we chose a table near the bar. We were about an hour early for the advertised happy hour but we didn't mind. Our waitress was very friendly and immediately took drink an appetizer orders. I chose a basket of fries and a brownie. The brownie was so delicious despite small size. Fries were hot and fresh. Things were going well until we decided to order lemon drop martinis. It took to order. They finally came out but weren't in the traditional glass so we almost didn't know it was our and not another tables order. Not the best martini but it was okay. Over 3/5 for this visit. read more

Disappointing. Given how busy they were, the service was adequate. However, my main entrée was overcooked to the point of being charred. My appetizer arrived at the same time, and was cold. I also disapprove of their practice of still tacking on an 18% service charge on their checks. No wonder why the server was bragging to her friend about how she had made over $300.00 in tips during a recent night. Fried mushrooms, large serving, hot and crunchy but full of oil, too greasy to enjoy. Cold beer but bar drinks were very strong, great alcohol content but not good flavor. Chicken wings and fries ok-right on par with others. Service was decent till we finished waited forever for bill, added dessert and waited another 15 mins. I ordered a chicken salad, chicken was inedible chewy and funky. The improper storage/cooking of chicken was atrocious, I feel it was left out to dry earlier, grilled, stored, then microwaved because it was so rubbery, the texture was unlike any chicken Ive eaten before. They Did something special to mess it up that bad but make it look edible. I was offered a burger and disappointed with that as well, the onion rings which were over battered undercooked and had skin in them. This goes to show that the kitchen crew here really does not care about their food. We made a couple of stops here while in Memphis for work. I asked locals where they are and they all told me to have Hueys. Surely, I sampled a couple of their burgers, sides and apps for a couple of days with no disappointment. Their onion rings were a bit over cooked in my honest opinion but their loaded fries were to die for. Burger and loaded fries is definitely diabetes in a plate but it was one hell of a meal and it was really inviting while I was in there. It had a friendly, neighborhood bar feel. This is a fun spot to grab a bite. It's mostly a burger joint and the menu is only one side, but they do have a decent variety of burgers, even though the menu isn't the biggest and it is mostly the same food. I ordered the bluez 57 burger. Of course it caught my attention because of the bleu cheese. I also thought the onion strings sounded cool. I'm always a fan of slightly more unique ingredients (but still normal), so the two of them together sold me. The burger was pretty big, and there were tons of the fried onion strings on it. I couldn't even see the burger under the mountain of them! I definitely needed to eat some off the top first before I could start on the burger as a whole. The burgers here don't come with a side. I understand why, because the burger alone is already a nice size, but I still wish it came with something. It just seems like the right thing to do when it comes to burgers! Luckily for me, the many fried onion straws were almost like a substitute. We did end up ordering some fries and onion strings for the table to share though. The fries were ok. The onions were fairly salty but I liked that. The burger was really good and had lots of flavor. It was on the messier side, probably because of the bbq sauce. The atmosphere was cool. Very much a mix between a bar and a restaurant and also a music venue. When we were there they had live music playing. They were really good, but it was also extremely loud inside (even before the musicians). One fun thing is that there are tons of the big toothpicks used to keep the burgers together stuck in the ceiling. This is my fourth review for different Huey's locations. My star ratings are 5,5,4, and now 2. I like Huey's because everything's been great and the prices are reasonable for what you get. I'm wanting to try everything on the menu, but now I've found the one thing on the menu that sucks: the tuna steak sandwich. It's terrible, or at least this one was. I don't like that they don't offer a 1/2 pound burger. Instead, they only sell 1/3 lb. I've mainly been sticking with the other sandwiches, but I like the little miners trio. Occasionally, I'll give the server the choice to surprise me with one of 3 or 4 that I can't choose between. Today, I wanted the tuna. This was the worst tuna fish I've ever had. It was over cooked and dried like a bad pork chop. Where's that vibrant red color and the soft flakey flesh? Look at my pictures. I hope this isn't the norm. I really almost sent it back, but I didn't have time for any delays. I ate it anyway. The bread was good. I felt a Deja vu when I walked in the door although I realized I'd never been to south wind before. That's because it was an exact replica of the poplar store. Right down to the last detail. Service was overwhelmed. Our server was working the dining room and the patio singlehandedly. A guy brought food to our table. He neglected to bring our ketchup.
