Huey's Downtown was our second choice this evening, so I'll admit I started out a little disappointed. Still, we settled in for some familiar comfort food. The wife said her cheeseburger was "standard"--nothing special, but at least the patty was cooked right. My Reuben, on the other hand, was a letdown. The bread was crushed flat, the sauerkraut was missing in action, and the corned beef came in thick slabs instead of thin slices. The 1000 Island dressing was straight out of a bottle and served on the side. The house-made chips were perfectly crisp but way over-seasoned, and I'm fairly sure the salsa came straight from a Tostitos jar. Let's just say you'll need to enjoy plenty of Huey's beer to make the food feel like more than just edible. That said, the waitress was the star of this meal. She was perfectly attentive and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our visit--even offering to take the Reuben back and bring me something else (but I rarely, if ever, send food back). Thank you, Astrid, for being the redeeming feature of this restaurant!
French dip was very yummy! Fries were crispy just like I asked. But they had no Ginger Ale. So I got sweet tea instead, it wasn't bad.
I was recommended to come to Huey's in downtown Memphis and had no idea what was on their menu. I ordered a strawberry lemon drop martini, the smash burger with sweet potato fries, and it turned out all delicious. The server Megan was beyond nice, with the southern hospitality and made me feel welcomed. A great casual spot for new visitors and locals! I'd not tried a smash burger and it was very good.
Fun decor with a lot of different art and decorative items all over the place. Staff was very friendly and very helpful Ordered fried mushrooms, Famous hurt burger with tater tots. Mushrooms were well fried well. Burger with Cheddar was cooked as expected and as ordered. (Med/Well) Tater tots toasted and went well with burger Overall, a nice place to get a burger and drink. From the time I sat down, ordered and received my food it didn't take more than 10 mins. This place is 100% worth stopping in for some American classic food
Sorry up front I usually take pictures and forgot. Overall the atmosphere was fun and exciting. It's a nice place. Our bartender was responsive with good service. My drink was functional, small but good tasting margarita. The food was good. Overall this place was not really remarkable it was all just functional food.
Place is in the middle of downtown. Seated fast. Server is friendly. Ordered the Huey Burger with everything on. Typical burger. Also ordered the sweet potato fries.
Food was mid. Staff was decent. Came with a larger crowd, some staff appeared annoyed. Water had chunks of some food in it.. overall would not revisit. Downtown Memphis needs easy and good food options for a post game crowd.
A local favorite for sure! This is a funky place with a fun history built by years of passion. The prices here are super reasonable which I appreciated, especially in today's day it's hard to find that. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly and happy to help. The food was great. My favorite thing is that any burger you get can be swapped for a turkey burger or black bean burger. Love the alternatives!
We had a great meal here. The burgers and chilli hit the spot. A special thanks to the Manager working Sunday evening after the Liberty Bowl. She is a kind person and represents Hueys well. So does the Gentleman that brings food out from the kitchen. Good energy from both of those folks. Stay at the Peabody and walk next door for a Memphis experience.
Great little 4.75 bloodies for brunch on Sunday but the service was real slow ... great burger just took forever ..
In town for the day and was on my way to another place. But I saw this on my way and decided to pull up the menu. So although I was initially wanting bbq ... something about seeing "world famous" in the marketing makes me wanna try lol. First I wanna say the 4 stars comes mainly from the service. Everyone was nice and my server was patient with me as I decided what I wanted. I can't remember his name. But he was great. I ordered the spinach dip and it was good but not great. Definitely cheesy... and piping hot. But average. I did like the accompaniment of the salsa and sour cream. It's kind of like having chips and salsa and chips and spinach dip. I ate it all!! I ordered the "world famous" burger. Here are the positives: the patty was actually seasoned and seasoned well. My order came out correctly. Negatives: menu says standard temp was medium. And it definitely came out well done. My server offered to have it re-made. But there was no need in wasting the food. It was still juicy. I added tater tots and they werent hot. Just lukewarm. Although the food was good. It wasn't mind blowing. And with world famous being in the marketing and promotion I expected something special. They have a great variety on their menu and happy hour specials as well. Very chill environment and pricing was more than affordable Again I want to stress that the service is great! I'd definitely be back
Wish I had more time in Memphis so I could've dined in, but the food and service was really good. Next time I will add my name to the wall!!!

Huey's is a Memphis staple. I stopped by after work and was able to get a table by the window. I was greeted by my waitress and she was so kind and attentive. Recommended me some appetizers and allowed me some time to look over the menu. I ordered the chicken tender dinner with buffalo sauce. I wanted to try a new drink and went to the beached mule. It has ginger beer, coconut rum & pineapple juice. The drink was $8. Yes, $8 y'all. I will be back for the delicious drink. The tenders was yummy as well. Huey's is famous for their homemade ranch and it has never failed me. This location has live music from time to time. And love the decor is Memphis themed! read more

Thanks so much for the wonderful review, Takela! We're thrilled you…
Huey's Downtown was decent food. We were hungry and it served its purpose, but was not anything really stand-out. Our server was friendly if not a little rushed. She did get a large table of customers in after us so she was probably trying to get us taken care of before she had to do that table. The ambiance is fun and colorful! I noticed that the walls were covered in names and messages. It would have been fun to leave our names but there wasn't anything to write with! Maybe provide a Sharpie at the tables? I was happy to find that I could order any burger as a black bean or Beyond patty. I got the West Coast Burger with the black bean patty and sweet potato fries. The patty was good, problem with my burger was that it was missing the guacamole. I didn't feel like sending it back as I was hungry and just wanted to eat, so it's partly my fault I didn't get my correct burger. The sweet potato fries were good, crispy and slightly sweet. read more

I'm going to let you be the judge!! I have eaten here several times. This pickle was on the bottom of my French fries, typically it's on top on the side of the basket. Monday night service at the bar was good. read more

This was my first visit to Memphis and while looking for an eatery we decided on this place initially based on the decor. This place definitely has character. It wasn't busy with moderate noise on Friday afternoon. Tim was our waiter and he made sure we were taken care of. The Smash Burger was super filling and tasty. The fries seemed like they were prepared from frozen. The spinach and artichoke dip looked underwhelming but was pretty good! Don't forget to leave your mark by signing the wall before you leave! read more

We walked over here from the mimosa festival to have some lunch. We were seated immediately and our waiter greeted us as soon as we sat down, asking for our drink orders. He was very polite and good his job. We each had a small entrée finished quickly, and the check was brought immediately upon request. It's a dive bar and a little loud, so be prepared to have to raise your voice a bit to be heard but overall it's a really fun place to eat! read more

This restaurant looks funny from the outside, and it definitely seems bigger on the inside. We were around 6 pm and they have a happy our! The options were getting one 22oz beer or two 11oz. I decided to get the 22oz this time. The waitress was very friendly and took the time to explain to us some conferences going on around the area. I ordered the Sunshine Burger with tater tit's. The burger was delicious, the mushrooms were very flavorful, and the bacon was very crispy. read more

Hi Roger,…
Colorful esthetic before you walk in. To the right is where the band plays, there's a bar and tables. We were sat and started with the mozzarella sticks with ranch. At a glance they looked average. Very good for a crispy, crunchy bite. The ranch was a creamier ranch that tasted homemade. He ordered the Old Tyme A1 Burger and I got the Bluff City burger with tots. The first bite of the burger was gushing with flavor and juice, enough that we needed napkins right away. Every bite was consistent. The tots had a good crunch and they put their seasoning on them, then dipped in ranch. Bomb. Bought some merch and will be back. read more

We wanted to stop in here for a late lunch and to watch the Texans game on a Saturday afternoon. They have plenty of TVs so perfect spot to watch any game that may be on. They were not jam packed so we were able to find a table right away. This place is sit yourself but the waiter comes over to you pretty quickly. We really enjoyed our burgers, I high recommend the sweet potato fries because it comes with this chipotle ranch sauce and it was so damn good. The world famous burger I thought was delicious, had all the fixing and the burger had a ton of flavor. If you are looking for a casual lunch spot this is the place to go to! read more
