Lately I have noticed most wing establishments have extremely small wings ( well this is not true at Big Myrt's). The wings are a nice size and they are always served fresh/ hot. I ordered the 100 party wings for an event being held for my niece. I ordered 25 honey hot, 25 lemon pepper, 25 bbq and 25 seasoned. The freshness, favor and texture of each one was amazing. One last thing about the Best Wing establishment in Memphis. Big Myrt's has the best prices of all the wings places I checked with for a 100 party wing platter. Trust me if try out this establishment it will become your favorite wing spot like it is now for me...

The staff there is very friendly. Nephew got a sandwich and a smoothie; I stuck with my old faithful the Sunrise Sunset smoothie. I'm glad to know there's a location so close to me. I didn't ask about GF options; there were none when I was frequenting the chain years ago and don't know if that has changed. But if you don't have that dietary restriction, this is definitely a place to get clean food!

I've passed by 7 Mares for years, riveted by the sweet murals with sharks, mermaids, and Mexican dishes painted in the windows, and yet paralyzed by thoughts of a massive language barrier, or a filthy establishment, or something darker - with fear driving my fantasies inevitably to a cartel-style execution awaiting me inside. But I've also imagined it to be the next great Mexican restaurant in town, which I'm on a continual quest to find. I finally got the nerve to go in today, and I was worried for all the wrong reasons. Make no mistake, this IS a dicey part of town. There is a lot of, uh, colorful foot traffic. (El 7 Mares shares its building with a small corner store.) But 7 Mares is an oasis from the outside. No record scratched when I walked in. It was cheerful (with plenty of Halloween decorations adding spirit) and clean enough upon a cursory inspection. I was greeted warmly in fluent English. Even the TV was airing a program in English. (Red flag?) There were several (diverse!) tables of customers in the small front room, with a few people at the tin-roofed bar. I was very relieved to have my assumptions proved wrong. Sadly, the disappointing part of my experience was the food. I have to say that I didn't find the next great Memphis Mexican food today. I went with a safe, standard choice for me: enchiladas suizas with a side of guacamole. Chicken was the only option for these enchiladas. 7 Mares provides free chips and salsa. The salsa was average at best, and the guacamole I ordered was subpar. The salsa reminded me of Los Picosos - not bad, but not my type. I can't verbalize the flavor, but I think it's a combination of sweet and tangy. And quite mild. The guacamole was really creamy, as if it had been mixed with sour cream. Again, edible, just "unnatural" and not very good. I haven't had the processed grocery store guacamole in many years, but this didn't seem too far from what I remember of that stuff. As far as the enchiladas, they were not a good example in my experience. The menu mentioned a tomatillo sauce (that's what defines the dish, right?), but I swear there was nothing but cheese on these. And a ton of it at that. The chicken was good - tender and well seasoned with peppers cooked in. But these weren't the enchiladas suizas I've grown to love. I'll keep going to Playitas when I'm craving those. I may end up giving 7 Mares another try, but there are a ton of proven restaurants in the vicinity - Macon and Summer to the southeast - that already have my loyalty. Things would have to improve dramatically for me to come back a third time.

Kat, Tandrea and the two men (manager at a table with a laptop and older gentleman) working at 10:25a on 25Jul2026 were fantastic!! They had great positive energy, kind, polite and ensured we had a great experience! This genuinely seemed like their personalities. EVERYTHING in our order was correct the 1st time!!! We had a #1 and the Sweet and Spicy Bacon burger combo with onion rings, fresh, hot and delicious!! I truly wish these people the best and hope Management knows what a great team they have. I placed an online order and was immediately told they didn't have an online order. No problem -- except I had the order confirmation and proof of payment sitting right there on my phone. I was then told they might be the wrong store. Even after showing the employees the order, I apparently needed to prove that my phone wasn't lying. Eventually, the manager came over and acknowledged that, yes... they did in fact have my order. Progress! I was then asked to wait about 5 minutes for the chicken strips to cook. Fine. Except when the strips came out, they were promptly used to fill someone else's order. Apparently my chicken had found a new home. After about 20 minutes, I was told they were waiting on two potato rounds. Yes, two. Individual. Potato. Rounds. At that point, I agreed to substitute fries because I really didn't have the emotional energy to wait another 20 minutes for two potatoes. Finally, my order appeared -- except it was missing two additional sides and a drink that I had already ordered and paid for. I had to point that out and ask for those items as well. And the cherry on top? Not one apology. Mistakes happen. Orders get misplaced. Chicken occasionally defects to another customer. I get it. But the combination of arguing with a customer who has proof of their order, repeatedly making them wait, giving their food to someone else, forgetting paid items, and offering zero apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience is simply unacceptable.
