There were a group of women sitting at a table with lounge chairs drinking and appearing to be having a conversation. We were greeted immediately upon entering and were told that we could sit anywhere. We found our seats and ordered drinks. We wanted to order our meal but were told the kitchen wouldn't be available for an hour and a half. We contemplated on leaving but decided to stay. We had drinks and conversation until the kitchen opened. We ordered pizza (pepperoni and pepperoni/sausage) and a Caesar salad each. The bill came and it was $118 2 pizzas 2 Caesar salads 2 French 75's 2 cans of Coke Cola 20% mandatory gratuity Although our server was extremely engaging and nice we will not be returning. I had this place marked to visit for drinks next time I was in Memphis, but I had no idea that would be pasding thru driving from Raleigh, NC to Austin, TX on Thanksgiving night. Luckily, Silly Goose serves pasta and pizza, too, so my wife ordered a Caesar Salad while I had some pasta with shrimp, while enjoying a couple Silly Goose cocktails and IPA's. Our bartender was amazing, and with no servers working the holiday, went above and beyond taking care of our needs. While I can check Silly Goose off my list of places to try, I'll certainly be back my next trip, which hopefully will be for several days to enjoy more music, restaurants, and Southern hospitality that surround Silly Goose--centered in it all downtown. We had high hopes for this place because of how pretty it was when we walked in but our expectations were not met. First, i ordered an expresso martini and it was not right AT ALL. I told the waiter and she said i couldn't take it back which is crazy if it's not made correctly....then she offered to make me another drink and made sure to tell me i would have to pay for both....then we ordered a pizza and it was so incredibly bland and tasteless. Me and my date were both underwhelmed by the experience and then to top it off one of the employees kept playing VERY LOUD videos on his phone, so loud to the point that i could hear it over the music which is insane because the music was loud. Good Luck Getting Your Food This Year. I walked into the restaurant at about 7pm on a Tuesday night. There were maybe 20 people in there, majority at tables only a few at the bar. Bartenders were quick to take my order and make my drink, which was very good. After about 20 minutes of waiting for my food the restaurant had pretty much cleared out except for a large table of about 12. At the 30 minute waiting point the bartender went to check on my food, but didn't have an update. At the 40 minute point they were "working on it". At the 50 minute point it finally went in the oven. It was at that point I was told that my ticket went in right after the large party which is why it was taking so long. I received the pizza about an hour after ordering and it tasted excellent. Although I'm not sure if that's because it was actually that good or I was starving to death. Overall the bar service was quick and the food and drinks were good. I believe in providing feedback in person not on social media, so I did. After I paid my bill (which was not discounted and had a 20% service charge) I recommended to the bartenders that they let someone know if their food is going to take a long time because I would have ordered an appetizer or gone somewhere else instead of waiting for an hour. Unfortunately, the reason I'm writing this is that the response I got was "we didn't know it would take that long". Seeing as they took the orders, they had to know there was a huge ticket back there in front of mine. So moral of the story, I'd stop in there for a drink any night of the week but be cautious when ordering food because if the bartenders don't know it's gonna take a while on a Tuesday and don't have the courtesy to tell you, I can't imagine the wait on a Friday night. read more

I'm glad this restaurant is opened. I can't tell you how many times I have drove past this eatery in the past! We decided to stop in today and was pleasantly surprised! They have all of the new COVID regulations on the door clearly posted for everyone (masks, etc.). It was a beautiful day and it was a great visit because I felt comfortable enough to actually sit down and eat. I have been really really nervous and Leary of restaurants lately as everyone else is.. We came in and was greeted by a cheerful bartender and asked for our drink choices. She then showed us to the table and Showed us how to access the virtual menu. We eventually switched tables because we needed a bigger area, the workers came right after us and swiftly wiped down the table area). Our food came within 10 minutes (well his food did - the spicy boi) and they brought me a caprese salad for the wait. The salad was amazing! Never tasted anything so yummy!!! 2 minutes later my order came (the big cheese pie).. omg... soooo yummmyy!!! I couldn't finish it al, but will make for great leftovers! From coming in and seating ourselves then moving closer to the bar the bartenders on staff for 20 mins did not acknowledge me and my date since we were a mixed couple but took the initiative to start a conversation with the all white couple that came in 20 mins after we did then turned around and started talking to the all black couple that came in and started a conversation with them an additional 10 mins after me and my date have been there waiting 20 minutes before the all white couple showed up making the total wait time 40 min before I decided to leave not interacting with a single employee before making that decision to leav e. They may have good food and make ok drinks but it's not worth the silent discrimination you have to go through just to get service. 3.5 stars Something's never change. It has been a super long minute since I have been to the Silly Goose. Back in the day when this first opened, this would be my stomping grounds. Great vibe, good drinks, and chill to bring friends or a date. None of those aspects have changed and therefore I value Silly Goose for that. What has changed is the attitude of the staff. I do not know if coming the day I did was an off day or what, but they didn't seem to know what in the world they were doing. There seemed to be confusion on who the bartender was! The chef was serving drinks to patrons at the bar along with Howsy. Again, I do not know, but that made things a little weird and confusing to ask who for what. Their demeanor in the process seemed to be under the tension of the frustration of who was missing from doing what job. Short-staffed, maybe? Regardless, of the staff mix up, the drinks were good. My cousin got a few $2 tall boy PBRs and I had a couple of martinis that didn't run me anything. Drinks here are super cheap and food doesn't go missed either. They have decent pizzas. I'd say that Silly Goose mainly encompasses the Main Street neighborhood as their patrons. It is very much a 'local bar'. It serves a good purpose and that is apparent by how many years it has been in business. read more

Love this spot for a cocktail and the food ain't so bad. The oven roasted shrimp YUMMY the sauce is so savory you need extra bread. Build your own pizza if you like with toppings like artichoke hearts ,Calabrian peppers to various proteins. The bar is well stocked and the menu has a lot to try.
