Truly wanted to like this place. Valet and parking is easy and efficient. Service is good, hostess was very accommodating and our waitress Daniel was good as well. However, the place prides itself for making craft cocktails I have tried a couple and both were very unimpressive. I chose Wagyu pigs in blankets as appetizers and would not recommend it I also shared with my friends and none of us liked it, for main dish I got Mongolian short rib and that was fatty, dry and under seasoned all at the same time. I came with a group of 9 ladies and none of us liked their food. Overall the stars come for service only otherwise I don't see myself coming back read more

Really enjoyed Culinary Dropout. Massive on the inside and huge rooftop area. Sat at the bar with my friend and enjoyed cocktails and the views of the city. The valet was free and there was a good little amount of parking too. Overall great ! read more

Great food and vibe! The rooftop bar was the icing on the cake. Delicious and fun drinks coupled with the amazing view make a great date spot to relax and enjoy. read more

Had an okay dining experience. The espresso martini is amazing and absolutely worth the hype. However, the food was overall very basic and underwhelming. The wagyu pigs in a blanket were extremely dry, slightly burned and overall disappointing, for $18 you can definitely get better taste and quality at the mall food court. The pasta was okay, nothing special, same for the chicken. I would maybe come back for the drinks during happy hour. The live music was great. read more

Drinks were so good but pricey! Food was amazing and the vibe was even better! Everyone was so friendly also! Definitely will be back

After a long walk from Katy Trail, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal at Culinary Dropout. This is my second time at Culinary Dropout (the first was at a Yelp event a couple months back), and it was just as delicious! I recommend ordering the fried chicken and biscuits. The dish comes with a side of coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. The coleslaw had a hint of apple juice, which was refreshing! The chicken was fried to perfection, the biscuit was warm and fluffy, and the mashed potatoes were amazing! My husband and I both enjoyed our lunch on the rooftop. The restaurant is gorgeous. Also, amazing service! read more

It's a cool, huge building + atmosphere, but on the hot summer Sunday we went the service was lacking. It appears they don't have a "team" operational model, so any time we wanted our glasses refilled, we had to flag down our server. The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. It's a neat spot. But based on this experience, I don't envision us making the effort to ever go back. read more

6/15/2025 Father's Day. Usually have a really good experience here. Got here at 4:15 and no one acknowledged us by 4:30 so we left. Two other couples came in during that 15 minute wait and were acknowledged, brought menus and water. Very unfortunate because we used like to come here often. Sadly this is the last time. read more

I had a very different idea of what culinary drop out meant but at least I wasn't let down. The drinks were strong and the food is really good for bar type food. We ordered 2 nachos so you get the picture. I'll be back! read more

Wanting to try something new in the city, I stopped by Culinary Dropout for lunch. I wanted a good mix of things so I ordered an appetizer of the wagyu pigs in a blanket as well as an order of the steak and fries. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak medium well and it came out just as ordered. The pigs in a blanket was super tasty with a really flavorful sauce. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience. read more

This is a very trendy two level restaurant that was located within 1 mile of the hotel we were staying at, the Hilton Anatole. The inside is very nicely decorated with a theme of wood tones, greenery and modern light fixtures. On the first level there's a bar in the middle and in the back there's a nice stage area. The staff were friendly. We reserved through Open Table since we went for dinner on a weekend. They had live music on Saturday nights, but we finished dinner before they started their set. Our food came out very quickly, and they have nice sized portions but the food was very delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner out with friends or family! read more

Several people have recommended this place, so we tried it recently for brunch. The place is spacious with several tables inside, at the bar, and on the rooftop. Our server was welcoming and gave us great recommendations. The deviled eggs and pigs in a blanket were great-tasting appetizers. My wife enjoyed her fried chicken and buttermilk biscuit. I ordered the chicken cacio e pepe and added bacon (server recommendation). Great flavor and the portion sizes match the price. We had a great experience and we will definitely be back to try more menu items. read more

I had the opportunity to dine here on June 3, 2026. What a great dining experience. From the ambience, hostess, to the server (Sol), to the supporting staff. The food was amazing. Every bite was a delight. We started off with 3 different appetizers, two entrees and then a dessert. Valet parking was a real bonus. One of the supporting managers (Kai) came by our table. It was a nice surprise. Hook yourself up with a reservation. You will not be disappointed. I only wish we had one of these restaurants where I live. read more

We came here on a whim, and it was amazing! We had dinner downstairs. I got Brussels sprouts and a sangria. Both of which were delicious. The drink was semi strong and the sprouts were amazing. We didn't interact much with the waiter. It is beautiful and spacious inside. The only negative was we tried to go upstairs to see the rooftop bar, but were declined as half was a private party and the bar "was probably full". We just wanted to see the balcony for a second, but oh well. It was just rude. There are so many restaurants in Dallas, because of someone being rude, we may not come back here again, we can go to the million other restaurants. read more

I visited with a group of 6, and it was a great spot for a casual night out! The portion sizes are perfect for sharing, which made it easy for everyone to try a little bit of everything. The restaurant has a huge rooftop, which will be awesome when the weather cools down, perfect for watching games or grabbing drinks with friends. As far as starters go, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket were fantastic--great choices for sharing and absolutely delicious! I ordered the Korean Style Ribeye Cap. It it was tasty, but not my favorite dish of the night. I'd definitely be curious to try something else next time. Parking was easy, with plenty of space available and valet if you prefer. Overall, it's a great spot for a group hangout or a casual date night. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu! read more

Service and food always great! Love the live music too! Haven't gotten to check out to rooftop but love having a girls night here.

Well after being a fan since their first week opening in Dallas, I'm now officially out on this place. I've probably been there 30 times since opening and you know what they say... for all you spend to gain a customer, you better not let your people cost you customers. I reached out to them about celebrating my birthday lunch with them next month. I was contacted by Crystal in their events department, and I politely explained to her that we didn't want to reserve a big banquet room or do a prix fixe menu. It's a Sunday at 2pm and there will be 15-20 of us and we'd just like to come in and do lunch. Nothing fancy. She was clearly bothered by the fact that we didn't want to commit to a $1200 minimum spend with limited and preset menu options. Her displeasure was obvious and when asking if they'd be able to do separate checks as long as we let the server know when we were ordering, she said technically they could, but that it "would be really inconvenient for" them. That did it for me. I've brought every out of town guest, every business associate, significant other (only 1 of those) to this place loyally, and she's telling me that my wanting to celebrate my birthday would inconvenience them. She was clearly not having it because I'm sure her compensation is based on the number of special events / parties she books. But when I expressed to her I was feeling like I was a problem for them, radio silence. I don't know what it costs a restaurant to gain a loyal customer who visits more than 25 times, but all it took was Crystal to lose them. read more

Simply amazing experience! Service was exceptional! Professional, personable and knowledgeable about the company's history and menu options. I ordered the deviled eggs to start they were amazing! Food quality is similar to a Chilis. My food was lukewarm and presentation is not high. Many options to choose from and we'll definitely have to return to try more options. read more

The soft pretzels with provolone fondue are warm and absolutely delicious. I always have a very fun time hanging out here for a casual meal.

Very nice and clean space. Many of the guests were on the upstairs patio so the ground floor had lite traffic. We sat at the bar, service was quick and friendly. Their menu isn't vast, so there wasn't much to choose from, but effective I suppose. I asked for the fried chicken and was informed of a brunch option which I chose bc biscuits sounded interesting, the chicken was good and well cooked and the biscuits were too. I kind of hoped for jam which would've really drove it home. Their drinks have a bit of a twist so some I could pick out easily others were riffs on a more classic option and a bit pricey, as is alcohol, I chose the Paloma which is made w sparkling wine instead of soda, I don't have to have another. Overall the experience was fine, I wouldn't drive out there to visit again, but if in the area I may consider. read more

So the kids took me out for a belated birthday celebration here at Culinary Dropout and I am glad they did. When you walk in, you feel this energy and know you are in a big city restaurant. It's huge, with bar seating, booth seating and high top seating which both can seat 6 easy maybe seven, which we sat at. They also had a live band (or person) in our case that was performing live music, which was cool. We came here for the cocktails and good food. Appetizers were ordered and shared. Not pictured, but I had a chicken wing that was really good and sticky. The other hit was the house chips and dipping sauce. These chips were nice and crunchy, very good. I highly recommend them. The pretzel balls with cheese was also good and the deviled eggs. Fish and chips were ordered at least 3 times, the fried chicken, steak frites and the Detroit style pizza. Out of all of these items, I would have to say the fried chicken stole the show. It was excellent, not overly greasy at all and juicy, bravo! The fish and chips were a bit of a let down. I won't order that again. The pizza was decent. Even though the service was a bit slow, and some items were forgotten like appetizer plates when the appetizers came out, we will come back. Our server was friendly and always had a smile on her face. read more

If I could put 10 stars in would. Hands down this place redeemed my food aspirations for Dallas. I was sad that I would have a repeat episode of just ok food in Dallas but boy oh boy was I so pleasantly satisfied! The place was super busy as a great place should be! They have valet and self parking but if self parking is your deal make time to do so. If you can reserve ahead of time on a weekend also do that. Because they not only have great service, foods, and drinks... but fabulous live music!!! I enjoyed all the songs and couldn't help belt out to the tunes along with the staff and other patrons. My friends and I originally sat at the bar and Aaliyah and Sumo had us well cared for. They were expert mixologists and made sure we had all we needed. Once we moved to a table Isaac made us laugh and enjoy our meal. The food from appetizers to main courses all worth the calories! The pork belly nachos o M Gggg! I can rave on and on about this place! Hope you guys get the chance to experience Culinary Dropout's unique ordeal. read more

The place is huge and super cute and our waitress Jordan (the fun one, as she called herself bc there were multiple Jordan's that worked there lol) was awesome! The lemonade stand was great- but $8 - I understand that from a business perspective but my goodness lol. The brussel sprouts were really good. The fried chicken was mediocre, it wasn't juicy or very flavorful and the mashed potatoes tasted like they needed more butter, salt and pepper lol. My friend said her bowl was just "okay". I tried a potato from hers and definitely have had better. read more

We stopped by for happy hour on a Friday. We wanted to sit on the rooftop but it doesn't open until 4, which is annoying. EWe ordered the margarita and it was disgusting, almost hard to drink. I ordered a sangria drink on happy hour which was very good. We got a sushi roll because it was on happy hour, but when we checked the regular menu they were the SAME price. Not sure what type of happy hour that is, but very misleading. Either way, customer service was good. read more

Welp, my fellow Texas locals...we finally got our wish...I believe everyone from the state of California has officially called Texas "home" **eye roll**. I get this place is everywhere but I'm getting Cali vibes. Very cool, chill and laid back. Friendly, tanned, and beautiful people with eccentric choices in fashion. They're killing it! The service was on point. We were informed that this location is one of the only restaurants with a rooftop but it was 103 that day...didn't feel like passing out from heat exhaustion. I was looking forward to trying the pizza but they were out of dough so I opted for the duck and shrimp fried rice. Generous portion, great taste. Maybe a 7/10....there's was something sweet tasting...it was different. This fried chicken was fried chicken but the star of the show was the popcorn shrimp! A hit! Lightly breaded, cooked perfectly. The sauce and the lemon accompaniment totally worked for this appetizer! The drinks could've gone a little harder in the paint. They were just pretty. I've had much tastier for half the price, in my opinion. This place is going to do well and be here for a while! Welcome to Dallas, Culinary Dropout! read more

I ordered the Caramelized Banana Bar and Mongolian Short Rib for take out. The presentation of the short rib wasn't the best (from last pictures) but the food wasn't bad. The short rib was good, there was almost no broccolini in the bowl, the congee looked and tasted like grits in my opinion, and the rice I would've preferred in its normal shape and texture. It was fried into a shape similar to the beef rib. For the first bite I thought I was eating beef fat until I realized it was the rice. The Caramelized banana bar was also ok. It's best to bite into everything all at once. I will say the portion of food was just right. This place also looks like a vibe. I thought I'd scope the place while waiting for my order but it was pretty packaged. So the atmosphere is nice, the food is ok, and the service was good. read more

It's the cutest restaurant; offers live music and a beautiful rooftop with a nice view of downtown. I have visited 3 times within 2 months so let's just say I'm addicted. The fried chicken has truly been perfected (This is coming from someone who is not a "chicken person"). The breading is so crispy and seasoned flawlessly. The biscuit is soft and mash potatoes are whipped well. The french toast is amazing as well. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast sandwich and it came out cold so I got the chicken instead; best decision ever! The service has been top tier every time I've visited! Today we were checked on my many people who wanted to make sure we were serviced. That was really appreciated. Overall: 10/10 You need to go!! read more

This place really shouldn't make sense--their menu includes the most random variety of items. Everything from sushi, to burgers, to pizza, to Korean (fusion). But everything is delicious, and their super-weird menu has won me over. I've been here twice for dinner now, and each time has left me wanting to go back for more. Everything I've tried has been good--the soft pretzels with fondue, the steak, the pork belly nachos, their salads (I don't remember which one I had, but I added salmon as a protein). The ambience is great too. It's a fairly large space with an eclectic vibe. You can dress (a little) up or down. There was also live music on the weekend nights that I went; the music was lounge-y and soft so you could carry a conversation without yelling. Culinary Dropout is definitely one of my favorite new spots. read more
