Okay the reason I gave them a 3 star is because I feel like for the quality of food they serve is a bit too pricey. Some of the food is worth it like the prime steak I ordered it was huge and cooked to my liking however my husbands corn beef and had barely had any corn beef it was mostly hashbrown and his egg was not over cooked. I ordered $120 worth of food from this location, through door dash, and most of my order was either incorrect or tasted like soap. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage. They gave me a bacon sandwich instead and I DO NOT eat bacon. When I called, I was informed to come and pick up the right order. The French dip sandwich I ordered did not come with the dipping sauce. My 5 year old and 12 year old nephews said that their sausage tastes like soap. I will never purchase anything from this restaurant again!! If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Stopped here on the way from Mammoth Lakes. Reviews said it was a diner and were ok. Well, worst omelette I've ever eaten (or half-eaten). My plate was swimming in liquid. I got a half order and it was basically cheese, mushrooms and onion. Where's the egg? I was hungry so I tried to eat it, but after picking over it, threw it away. TRUE old school diner! Love the vibe hear and all of the servers are really sweet! Me and my wife love taking our kids here every now and then after church on Sundays because you get so much bang for your buck! We only order one meal for the both of us to share and the same for our three children and we still have food left over! The food is great! Wife and I ate there at 9am on this Saturday morning. All food arrived cold, poached eggs cook hard. I sent them back. While waiting for the food, I noticed that every condiment and holder on the table had food crusted on them. There was also crusty, smeared fingerprints on the faded, crooked photos on the wall behind our booth. There appeared to be long-dried vomit splattered on the cardboard decor wall behind my wife. But the worst part was the 18-inch hair that I pulled out of my mouth after taking a bite of the cold hash. My hair is less than one inch long. My wife and I are both schoolteachers with restaurant work experience in our histories. We know that if we are seeing and experiencing these things in a brief 30 minutes at the restaurant, there is a 100% chance there are a myriad of other hygiene and cleanliness issues that we can't see. This Crazy Otto's was a filthy mess and the hostess was mumbling and bobbing and weaving as I explained our experience to her. read more

Eating there is uncomfortable. staff treats you like a problem older customers look at you and expect you to be a issue. They serve black customers food on cold plates and dirty dishes. Food is pricey but the portions are massive. If you are a light eater you would be smart to ask how much food comes with your order before placing your order. All 5 locations have lots of '"regulars" and are often seriously crowded on weekends and holidays. Very accommodating if you have dietary restrictions (low sodium, vegan, etc.). Love the food. However, We have large family and they refuse to let us take a table until everyone gets there. We had 5 people present , and we were waiting for 2 people, AND WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE RESTAURANT. Totally empty. And apparently if you want the cheese /melted/ there must be an extra charge I was not informed about. The meatloaf was drowned in gravy - the gravy leaked into my Chinese chicken salad - ewwww. Haven't been to this little diner for about 8 years and was hesitant about coming back. Last time I was here I just recall the huge portions and low quality food however I was pleasantly surprised by my return. I arrive shortly after opening and the staff was welcoming, just like home. Took part in the omelette challenge (winning, no photo needed) and was incredibly surprised by the quality of the food as well as the portions and service. Dasha was my server and Natalie was the one who really made me feel welcomed. As an outside patron, returning to a local mom-and-pop diner after so long often makes me feel like a close outsider however both Natalie and Dasha made me feel more welcomed than I could've ever imagined. The food was good, biscuits were superb (asked for them dry with soft butter), and hash browns (asked well done) along side my veggie omelette (minis the cheese) were great. BEWARE...ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES EVER!!! Both the Lancaster and Palmdale locations were my family's favorite breakfast spot for many years but not any more!! They've gone down hill and are in the sunken place. I called in a take-out order this past Sunday but, when I arrived, I found myself standing at the hostess/cashier's area waiting several minutes for assistance. At one point, an older woman who appeared to be in charge stepped out of the kitchen, made eye contact with me but walked back into the kitchen without offering assistance or stating that they'd be with me shortly. A short time later, a white woman walked up to the same area where I was waiting and we both stood there awaiting assistance. The same woman from the kitchen walked out and made eye contact with me but again said nothing. Instead, she saw the white woman standing there and rushed over to her and asked "have you been helped?" Completely ignoring me. The only difference is that I'm a Black man and the other customer was a white woman. I finally got my order (i.e., two build you own and one burgermeat omelettes) but was EXTREMELY disappointed! All of the grease and fat that should have been drained from the hamburger meat was actually put inside the omellete. So my omellete and hashbrowns were essentially sitting in a styrofoam container that was filled with grease and fat that made it visually and aesthetically unpleasing but the taste was even worse!! I could only eat a few bites before giving up and ended up wasting $58 on what should have been a pleasant Sunday morning breakfast. We'll never return to the Ave I location unless there's substantial improvements in both service and food quality. read more

Love this place, I ordered the prime rib cooked at medium and it was ridiculously flavorful, cooked to perfection & the sides were great. I chose the fries & I think the tomato soup was by far the greatest tomato soup I've ever tasted! It's filled with flavor, but oily & heavy. I can't say enough good things about Crazy Otto's on West Avenu I in Lancaster. The employees are on the ball! Getting us seated in a timely manner, always informative and pleasant, Wendi is always smiling! The ones clearing the tables and getting our drinks are on top of it!! Especially Krystal! We had late breakfast at this place. Their interior is typical American Dinner style but there is some special tables made by a car. Their price is bit high, but you will know why when you get your food. HUGE meal!! Especially pancakes!! My husband ordered a bowl of soup, Mexican soup or something like that name. He didn't like it, that soup has tons of carrots. I ordered combo plate, it was lots of food so I shared with my husband. It was more than enough for two! lol Service was good, food was average as dinner. I probably will be back to check their dinner menu. read more
