This restaurant has been in this location near the train tracks in the Lancaster area for over twenty years. The decor of the restaurant is a ton of memorabilia of the railroad, vehicle license plates from all over the United States, and the evolution of their menus over the years. We had ordered take out from this location as we have done many times before. This time we found some steel wool in the biscuits and gravy, inside the gravy. It literally was swallowed and almost logged in my throat, I had to throw it up to get it out! We had informed the rest of the family to STOP eating as we were half way through the meal. I called the location to inform them of the issue and sent them video and photo evidence and they told me I was shit out of luck on a refund since we had already ate some of the food. We will NEVER order from them again. We order from and eat from their location at least 2-3 times a month. No compensation was offered besides a refund on the gravy. You got to be fkn kidding me. The Asian "owner" has no idea how to run a business. They admitted it was from their kitchen and they knew what the metal piece was and only offered to refund the gravy. What a joke. Always a winner in my book. The history here and the people really make the place. This is Antelope Valley core. The portions are extreme but that isn't the absolute draw, the ingredients are fresh and made to order. They have decent gravy and that is hard to come by these days. Biscuits are always fluffy and light and not dry! I like how they do the omelette as they make the egg a very thin wrap around the ingredients. It's excellent food. They had a lot of cool different license plates hung up with. They also had a cool vintage car that was made into a booth and that's were we dined. Always love having an indulgent breakfast here. The food is excellent as is the service, especially Dawn. It's a rustic diner-type setting which is comfortable. We were hangry and got the large omelettes and took home the leftovers. We shared a Belgium Waffle which comes with warm syrup and we ask for melted butter. Delicious. Very disappointed with my experience at this crazy otto location. I had gone to a crazy Otto diner years before but this was the first time coming back and as a family we ended up trying this location instead of the Avenue I one. Main areas of frustration were 1) the wait we were a group of 6 but it took them 40 minutes to decide how they were going to fit a booth and a table together 2) normally this would not be an issue but it was over 90 degrees and I am in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy, they asked that we go wait in the car but our family chose to sit in their outside seating area because we never imagined that it would take that long, I had to keep going in and out of the location because I was overheating and they were not able to give us an estimated time which the most frustrating this. 3) once we were seated it seemed like we got service from 4 different waitresses and they kept coming around every 5 minutes asking if we were good on things but it made me more bothered by the fact that it had previously seemed like no one was attending to the seating issue when we were waiting in the hot sun. They also brought our check within 20 minutes of sitting down without being prompted. 4) the food was not to our expectation, seemed like the country fried steak was not exemplary especially because each meal per person was close to 20$. We would have gone to Alice's in Palmdale but it's closed now I would say this is no longer a good affordable option for families. Positive: Biscuits were fresh and tasted good. With that being said I understand that the staff tried to accommodate us but it was very delayed and the food was a let down. Four of us visited Crazy Otto's on 20th street this past Sunday and although I've been once before, this visit truly opened my eyes to the quality of service and generous portions served here. The place resonates a very Tustin, well established and casual feel. Loads of photos, signs and vintage novelties adorned the slatted wood walls. Stephanie, our waitress was AWESOME. Our order was taken promptly and arrived at our table in a timely manner. We had the prime rib, the steak and eggs, a French dip sandwich and my girlfriend said the biscuits and gravy were arguably the best she's ever had. I couldn't help notice the size of portions! Nobody leaves this establishment hungry! Honestly, the steak we ordered medium rare, and arrived as a tough piece of well done disaster, but Stephanie insisted on ordering a new steak which turned out delicious. Took my family there for breakfast, good, but prices were high. Almost $20 for breakfast now, but my daughter chose home fries, never asked for onions and bell peppers, but was charged $1.50 extra. Coffee $4.40 a small cup with refills, $4.85 credit card fee, $1.50 for splitting a plate, 18% tip which they added on. Almost $200 for four adults, two teenagers, two kids. My family ate here not to long ago and the food was delicious. Dawn was our server last time and I was pleasantly surprised to sit in her section for this visit.
