I came here on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty so I got seated quickly. The place had plenty of TVs. Chips were complimentary and they were good but felt a bit over cooked. They had a good crisp though. I think there was some miscommunication since nobody went to take my order for 7 minutes. Some of the waiters walked past me so I had to flag one down to place an order. I ordered a pepper steak with mashed potatoes and a salad with italian dressing. The salad came in 2 minutes and it was solid but nothing special. The croutons were interesting in a good way. The steak came in about 10 more minutes and it was pretty big. It was a bit disappointing though. It wasn't medium rare and had no crust. It honestly felt boiled. The steak was a bit chewy but to their credit it was juicy. The green beans and bacon were good. I don't think I'm coming back for dinner but I want to come back and try their breakfast/brunch offerings - those look pretty good and I think that is what they are more known for. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Lancaster, they are very consistent with their food quality and always very accommodating. Even through we went on a Sunday, we did not have a wait, even though it was very busy. Each of the staff we have interacted with have been very friendly and make it a point to check on us frequently, we really appreciate the experience we receive during our visits. We ordered a two egg meal with hash browns and perfectly crisp bacon, so perfect. My brother tried the chicken fried steak with potatoes and a scrambled eggs, this dish has a very large portion of food, he enjoyed the second meal later in the week. We sat in the bar area for the first time in many visits, they have a good size seating area, might be a good spot to catch some Sunday Football this year. read more

This is a really good spot for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chicken and it came out as I ordered was really good portion was huge cost was about 20 bucks which is a little high but you get a lot of food for that money. It was very tasty. I was super full when I finished it service. It was really good. Every time I came in everyone was really attentive. They have a cool little bar area to watch the games. It's a quaint little place. I would like to go back and try a bunch of other items some of the specials looked pretty good and they have a vast menu A+ all the way. read more

Used to be a favorite spot for breakfast. About six months ago I ordered an omelette. It took awhile to get to me and it was cold. I'm not one to complain so I ate it. It was disappointing. About three months ago I gave them another chance and ordered a chicken-fried steak. I couldn't believe what they brought me. It looked like it had been dragged across the floor-- the coating hung off the meat in chunks, the meat itself was very tough and chewy, and of course it was cold. Then yesterday my wife took me there (she hadn't been in awhile) and I thought, we'll give it a chance. I had the presence of mind to ask if the chicken-fried steak was cooked on the grill or in a deep-fryer. He said it was on the grill, and I replied, "Then it's not a chicken-fried steak..." I ordered a Country Scramble, because How Can You Screw That Up? I expected a mess of potatoes, cheese, meat chunks, onions, peppers... you know, a scramble. What I got was an open-face biscuit topped with two overcooked sausage patties that could be used as hockey pucks, covered in a gelatinous gravy. Potatoes on the side, overcooked and of course all of it was cold. How do you overcook something and serve it cold? My wife had the caramel/banana french toast, which was tasteless. And cold, of course. With any sit-down breakfast costing upwards of $25 nowadays, I just can't justify going to a place like this. It's hard to screw up breakfast, but these guys manage it. read more

Horrible experience. I came today in the morning. The host was extremely rude. The host sat a table who had the same amount of people and who came after us and when I brought it to their attention, he said we had more people and I said no we don't and he said "oh well." Then when we finally were sitting, they crammed 6 of us in a tiny booth. I asked to get the bigger booth behind us after the party left, he said no because we chose to sit here. Then I asked for the owners info so I could report my experience, he said "good for you," and didn't offer any information. The steak sauce was very watery like they had added water to it. At the end, they added their own tip gratuity onto our bill after we had already tipped them. read more

I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant before. I've been to this restaurant many times in the past, and the food has always been so good. Tonight, I ordered the chicken fried steak with a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was only lukewarm. I ate it anyway because I was hungry and didn't expect my chicken fried steak to be so gross. While I was eating my soup, I overheard three employees talking near the register, and one of them used the f-word. I felt that was very inappropriate, especially since there was a child sitting at my table. When my main course arrived, the chicken fried steak was cold, tough, and tasted as though it had only been coated in egg. I mentioned this to the waiter, and I would have expected an establishment like yours not to charge me for the soup since it was included with the meal and was served lukewarm. I waited until my daughter paid because she embarrasses easily and frequents your restaurant. After she left, I spoke with Alonso. He responded by saying, "Well, you ate the soup and didn't tell me anything." I explained that I still felt I should not have been charged for it because it was lukewarm and part of the meal. I also suggested that the soup temperature should be checked. Soup not kept at a proper temperature can allow bacteria to grow, especially soups like "clam chowder" since they contain dairy and seafood. I'm really hoping I do not get sick from it. When I mentioned overhearing the employees swearing, Alonso told me that "it wasn't my conversation to be listening to." I found that response dismissive and unprofessional. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially because I have enjoyed dining at your restaurant many times before. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way my concerns were handled, I will not be returning. read more

They have tables out front and I asked if I could sit outside to eat and she looked at me like it was a dumb question and rudely says "no, that's never been an option". I love going to Scramblez! All of the staff there are wonderful, especially Alonzo, with a Z. . We always enjoy our time there, whether I go alone or with friends. The food is always good and the service is excellent! Fast, flavorful and friendly! You always get generous portions. Don't forget to try the soup of the day, always delicious! Lots of comfortable seating, a cozy friendly bar to one side with tv screens from any view. If you haven't tried them yet, you must go. You won't regret it. Kudos to whoever does the hiring there. Bought an omelette ask for my steak well done and I purchased a cinnamon roll just to get home. My steak was not well done. It was tough unsalted nasty, and the cinnamon roll was wrapped up in plastic had to smell of plastic with food. Once I unwrap it the cinnamon roll at the taste of plastic. So glad that one of my besties suggested we go here for brunch today! From start to finish everything was nothing but amazing! We waited about 10 minutes to be seated even though we were told it would be closer to 30. We were sat at a table near the bar and quickly our orders were taken by two waiters. The second waiter was very handsome, nice, and helpful. I got their fajita scramble with mushrooms added. It comes with a choice of sides, so I got their home fries and a pancake. To drink we all got their large mimosa. It took a little while for the food so we sipped on our very strong mimosas. Literally you just need one and it is worth the $12 price. And now the food, the omelet has the right amount of flavor, but it did need a little bit more spice. Thankfully they had salsa and chalua which made it pop. I especially liked the home fries--super yummy with a light crunch. The omelet was stuffed full of vegetables and grilled chicken. I was able to make it through a few bites of this and the pancake and had to stop. It was so difficult not to stop as everything was fabulous! Definitely want to come back here and try their lunch or dinner. A must go to in Lancaster! read more

Biscuits and Gravy(B&G)! It's classic. It's uncomplicated. It's a staple. I have observed that a good B&G is difficult to find sometimes. Not here! The biscuit is simple and savory. Nice flavor and texture. The Gravy is simple and uncomplicated. Didn't seem to have multiple types of meat strewn about it. The consistency was on point and tasty. Not to mention it's a meal they'll have out very quickly if nothing is ordered. I can ensure if you're new to B&G or are have been hesitant to try it, this is the place to start in AV. This place is the best AV option after having tried most other restaurants with fresh Biscuits and Gravy. In the morning when I visited, the restaurant was pleasant and quiet. Service felt slower and we felt unnoticed given that there were only about 4 tables in total taken. Ordered the Cobb salad, tasty chicken and large size 4/5. Would order again. Also had the sourdough burger with fries, 3/5. Every table receives homemade potato chips and a mayonnaise based sauce (or so I think). Nice complimentary treat. Ambience is older. one of the few best restaurants in the AV. Prices are fair, the don't charge extra for ingredients, the staff are friendly, the menu is pretty diverse, and the food is DELICOUS! I always get the build your own scramble and by no means are they skimpy on the ingredients. Their coffee is pretty good as well. The only minor issue I had with this place was the limited seating but the wait times are never really long unless its a holiday or something. I 100% recommend eating here. read more

Eight seniors in my party and we go to Scramblez Grill and Bar in Quartz Hills after a tour at Scherich-Nepstad Studios. One of us arrives first and tells the hostess, there's a party of eight. The hostess responds and says, "When your party of eight arrives, I can sit you." In five minutes, seven of us walk into Scramblez at the same time. Some of us sat down and some stood up waiting to be seated at our table. We sat in the front for about ten minutes. Another senior in our party went to the desk and told the hostess in the front that the party of eight had arrived. The hostess says wait a minute as she rolls her eyes. I'm standing there thinking, we should have gone to The Morning Grill Cafe on Sierra HWY, but since we were only six minutes away from where we were, I'm like, why not. But the why not suddenly became clear at the end of our meal as we realized they had slapped an automatic gratuity of 18% on the bill. Okay, I get it, but let your customers know ahead of time, so it'll be their choice. Had I known, we would have been out the door to the morning grill no harm, no foul. Convenient for Scramblez, they put the information in the menu and like so many other customers, we didn't see it. It's a deceptive practice and why am I the bad guy, because I didn't see it. We're looking on the menu to see what we're going to eat and not looking for their policies of deceit. I had already knew I was having french toast because french toast is my favorite, so I really didn't see their little mandatory tip process. See personally, I don't like being told what to do, thus me being upset and for the record, at any restaurant I go to, I tip 22%. Our waiter was good and deserving of my usual 22%, but they could have had the sign posted in the waiting area where we waited over 10 minutes. There were hardly anyone in there, but I guess, in their defense, it took two of them to help another customer with a to-go order. They think I was rude, but do you know in many countries tipping is rude. In other countries, they pay their servers well, so they don't need your tip, it's kinda uncommon. I don't mind tipping, don't get me wrong, I'm a good tipper, but don't make me. Again, In my defense, I don't like being told what to do. It's really more about the hostesses than the waiter's service. It's the fact that the hostess was leaning in on my plate all on my bacon with blouse and that bugs me. You see, I was returning from washing my hands and that was a shocking scene for me. I rushed to move my plate, but they were still reaching over my food as they served the others their plates. I can understand if I wanted to add onion in addition to what is on the sandwich already, but I didn't, I removed an item.
