Really enjoyable dining experience, you should try it. So, it did not start well when I called the restaurant two times in the lunch hour and nobody answered the phone, and both times the voicemail said they were closed and gave some date in January, two months ago. :-). Nevertheless, I did manage to talk Mr. Picky into heading out east a significant distance to try the place because I had a backup plan in case they were closed. Our waitress was Tiffany and I cannot say enough good things about her. She had a great smile, had good energy, and bent over backwards in order to meet our requests and ensure that we enjoyed eating at the restaurant. We started with the soup du jour which was Chicken Enchilada. Wow moment. Yummy and one of the best soups I've eaten in a long time. Spicy, not too spicy, filled with corn and beans and cheese sprinkled on top. So, so good! Gold star to the genius chef behind that recipe. We unfortunately arrived on a day when they had a shortened, reduced menu. We had driven a significant distance to try the Firecracker Chicken which was not on the abbreviated menu. However - Tiffany to the rescue - our waitress asked the kitchen staff if they would prepare it for us, and they agreed to do so. Wonderful cooperation in the back and on the floor. Mr. Picky liked the chicken, we both thought the mashed potatoes were pretty good, I tried the squash side vegetable and enjoyed it very much because it was seasoned well, we liked the cornbread with honey butter, but our tummies ran out of room and we had to take the baked beans home with us. (Hint for a fabulous breakfast, somewhat English style, is to get buttered toast topped by fried eggs and then loaded up with piping hot baked beans spooned all over it. There is a good use for these leftovers :-) !) Soft folk music was playing in the background, or actually I think those were hymns played folksy style, very cute. We finished by sharing a large scoop of their homemade salted caramel ice cream, and liked it. The place seemed very clean, comfortable seating, not fancy, but a perfect fit for the menu. I had no idea there was a religious college out east, this one is Baptist, nor that they had a restaurant where the students can work, but it's a great idea and a good way to integrate the community with the school. Wow 2 waitresses for like 100 and some people we got Seated at 6:50pm and by 8:15 still no food i think the restaurant belong to the church "the whole building its a freaking church " I came here because of the good reviews "probably by the church members " they also recommend not to go on Sunday's because it gets packed ! I mean if they know this why they don't hire more employees for god sake !!! The food no taste whatsoever the only thing tasty was my lemonade , I will not recommend this place unless you belong to the this freaking church and your hating me right meow ;)the waitress was pretty polite. By the way you cannot tip the waitresses, but if you insist you can donate the tip to the church , I called that a BS. read more

I was excited to try out this new restaurant, and was not disappointed. Not only was the customer service on point (pun intended) but the food was filling and delicious. Cornbread and chili appetizer was delicious. Tri-tip salad was huge and the meat was tender. Firecracker chicken had a great flavor on the sauce with buttery mashed potatoes. The mango-yness on the cheesecake was lovely. Lastly the decor was a very welcoming rustic chic with cute Mason jar and cast iron skillet around. A great addition to the area! read more

The point is a very reasonable place to go on a budget and eat some decent food.The restaurant has room for improvement since it's fairly new. I do enjoy eating the special of the day as long as it ain't that bread bowl.As for the soup,it does the job.I also like the turkey club with spudz. In the past week I've been here twice, yes i liked it that much. the first time was a Wednesday night. I had the mac and cheese. it was good but not the best I've had. It is very very creamy, you can tell its not just cheese and butter but something with a sour twist - most likely sour cream. It does get served in a cute cast iron skillet though and the side that asked for was the carrots. those were tenderly cooked with brown sugar and butter. Very sweet and tasty. my boyfriend decided to get the meatloaf. I'm not a meatloaf person but i really liked it. it was wrapped in bacon, crispy on the outside and the meatloaf tender and juicy inside. The mashed potatoes were great and then there was the side of corn hash that was good. We decided to try for dessert the chocolate cake with a scoop of maple bacon ice cream. it was great for what it was listed as. the cake was moist, the ice-cream had real pieces of bacon and was perfectly twinged in sweetness from the maple but I kept thinking a brownie skillet would pair better, but I'm just being biased because a fudge brownie always wins over chocolate cake ha! Now today my whole family wanted to eat here, so i naturally was excited - eat here twice in one week who can complain? I had been craving a grilled cheese, but not just any kind will do. i wanted a grilled cheese that had a nice hearty bread with cheese that you can visibly pull apart in your hands. i wanted to see a nice cheddar mixed with a colby or a swiss - basically a plethora of cheese is what i wanted. and let me tell you The Point's grilled cheese does not disappoint . its up there with my favorite grilled cheeses of all time. This sandwich has hearty, thick bread - great for dipping. oh my side was a type of tomato soup (and you know that pair is a classic in the grilled cheese world) that contained chunks of tomato, pieces of spinach, and there was a hint of basil. To drink I had an Arnold palmer- half unsweetened tea half lemonade because let me tell you they've got that southern tea down - super sweet. but unsweetened is just perfect for my tastebuds. Lastly, for dessert i had the beignets. They are lightly dusted (or should i say smothered lol) in powdered sugar. The plate comes with 7 beignets and a mocha syrup with a side of icecream. This time I decided to get the salted caramel icecream and it paired wonderfully. There was a wonderful contrast between that warm little doughnut, the strong mocha syrup, and the salty sweetness of the icecream. overall, i had a great experience. The staff are wonderful- always making sure if anything is needed, i love that the chef likes to come out every once in the while to get a feel how the guests are liking their food. This shows me how much pride this restaurant takes in their work. read more

K I'm not a very critical person but I just have to ...... I only go when people invite me here because other wise I wouldn't waste my money here. I was here the other day with friends and a total of what looked 3 other people sitting in other areas so not full at all. We ordered and it took a whole hour for our food to come out ‍‍ the corn bread is so bad..... I think they NEED a different recipe and the waitresses could really use 101 in customer service. The place is inside the hanger building on the church campus. The campus is really nice and must have cost a fortune. The point has a nice look to it and the food was ok. The chicken pizza was on a 2" thick bread, I didn't like that. The Mac and cheese was good, a little heavy. The pulled pork had a strange mustard sauce I didn't like and it was on top of corn bread. I will go back for the quiet atmosphere and to try more of the menu. read more

The Point restaurant provided an A+ experience. We were greeted by a polite , cheerful hostess who seated you at a clean table. I appreciated that there were no tables that needed to be bussed; all the tables were clean. After our order they brought a mini kettle of baked beans and cornbread muffins. The beans were amazing. All of us at the table were saying that we typically don't care for beans that much but these were really delicious. The pot roast and homemade mashed potatoes were also flavorful tender and not fatty. Who would've thought that we would have thought we would enjoy such a great meal in Lancaster? I've been here many times. The food is well prepared and the menu has great variety. I have tried and loved the tri tip salad, soups, beans, and chicken entree. Wow! This is a hidden little gem on the east side of town. We went here today and had a great experience. The restaurant was very clean and very well decorated, and the staff was very friendly and soooo personable! We got the fire cracker fried chicken. It was sweet, and covered in bacon, yet it had a little spice! It was soooo good, I forgot to take a pic! I can't wait to go back and try the mac and cheese next time. Def recommend! read more

We were visiting the city of Lancaster and needed a good place to eat. Yelp recommended The Point restaurant, and boy I am glad we went! The service was great and accommodated our large party, our waitress was nothing but polite and extremely helpful. The menu is small, however, it was perfect for our party, they even have a gluten free portion which was perfect for our little guy who was just diagnosed with celiac disease.
