We were greeted immediately by a very sweet server. She told us to sit wherever. She came and brought menus and took our order. We didn't have to wait too long for our food either. I ordered the two slices of French toast with bacon and my husband had the sausage skillet special. My French toast was delicious. He said he really liked his food too. This place is a little hole in the wall spot, which I actually prefer over the big chain restaurants. You tend to get better service and I'd rather support a small business. Boulevard Cafe gives me a feeling of a rustic old school diner serving you diner food at its best. Service is wonderful with servers attentive to your needs. However, they do fall short of showing me what makes them different from any other diner. The food is decent at best with no wow factor. I want to be left satisfied and wanting to come back. Corned beef hash is more hash brown with bits of corned beef in it. I do want to point that out as corned beef hash is my all time favorite option for breakfast. The perfect simple delicious breakfast burrito. Bacon, egg, cheese, grilled onions, and tater tots. The bacon is crispy even though it's mixed into the egg. The tater tots are also perfectly crispy. Only my 3rd time here but the burrito has been consistent every time, I highly recommend and will be trying other things on the menu next time. We walked into this place and immediately had a terrible experience. No one greeted us when we arrived, so we assumed we could seat ourselves. As soon as we tried, an older woman (pretending to be a blonde waitress) rudely yelled at us that we couldn't sit there and told us to go to another table across the room. We didn't argue--we moved to the table she pointed at. I told my sister how disrespectful that felt, and we decided to leave. On our way out, the same woman yelled "Have a good day!" in an extremely sarcastic tone. It was clear she was being rude on purpose. The entire interaction felt hostile and unprofessional. Honestly, it came across as prejudiced and left us feeling very uncomfortable. If this is how customers are treated, I can't recommend this place to anyone. That woman is bringing down the business and should not be in a customer-facing role. No customer should be treated this way--it's bad for business and unacceptable in any hospitality setting. read more

Today we were excited to try this new to us restaurant. We ordered some Coffee , and I ordered the skillet scramble which came with my choice of sausage or another protein choice, which came with a choice of a Pancake or Toast. My guest ordered a short stack of Pancakes with Eggs and Bacon and a side of Hash browns and an order of Biscuits and gravy. Our Server was very nice with a great sense of humor. I guess you have to have a good sense of humor when you have cooks that lack some culinary skills. First and foremost, the Skillet Scrambler came in a plate that only looks like a skillet and is nothing more then a plate disguised to look like a skillet. I found out quickly as the plate was actually cold and not the best thing to keep a scramble of eggs, potatoes, onions, sausage served in. I/We will not be returning to this place of business and suggest to those of you lucky enough to read my review to try a much better eating experience, by going a half a block west to Irene's Café for some much better quality food. read more

I was moving from Texas to Washington and stayed over night in Palmdale. I wanted to find a good diner for breakfast. I used my trusty Yelp and found the Boulevard Cafe. When I walked in the door I knew I made the right choice. The booths were fairly empty, because the bar was full. I could tell this is where the locals stated their day with a cup and conversation. The waitress was very nice and welcoming. I ordered the corn beef hash with crispy home fries. I could tell the hash was fresh made. I wish I lived closer I would make this a regular stop. Came in today and had a bad experience. We usually come every/every other Sunday, We are usually help by the young lady Sofia (she is great). Although she helped us today the old man brought out the waters & coffee and my 4 year old said "thank you!" He replied with "I didn't bring you anything" with a rude attitude I thought he was joking or something but he was not. Then when the food came out he brought out pancakes and my kid said "thank you" again And what does this old dude say "This plate isn't yours" again with an attitude. I'm not sure what wrong with that guy but we will never step foot in this place again. We have been going for over 2.5 years Sofia has been nothing but nice to us especially to our child. I think him and his daughter are over it, I've seen her talk to other guest in a rude manner too... If you want to come here make sure it's a Sunday morning when you will get good service. We literally would drive from LA to eat here But will not let a grumpy old man talk to my child in that manner or tone. At the age of 4 we teach kids manners, as they are developing social skills. Quite simply, this is one of the best breakfast places in the AV. Food taste great, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is fun!

Ate at this establishment five times prior. Owner recognized me and made a comment about my order since I have been raving about their shoestring fries. Yet when I ordered never mentioned they no longer serve this fries. I spent $30 for absolutely nothing. I could have gone to Toms and it would have been cheaper and better. Look at the pictures $5 for those fries and the wrap filled with the bad part of Roman lettuce. Even though the owner has been rude in the past I loved their food, now there is no reason to return. My first and last time at this place. Me and my friends were the first to arrive. The waitress Hope was absolutely rude. We walked in and sat down. I asked for decaf coffee. She told me none was available, but it seemed to offend her. We sat and talked for several minutes. One other customer was in the shop and she told us we needed to order soon. When we were ready to order, there were a few more customers. I flagged her down and she said loudly, "You'll have to wait several minutes now". It really was a poor experience dealing with such bad customer service. We ordered corn beefed and hash and the pastrami burrito. Nothing to rave about. We left and my buddy still gave her a more than generous tip. We were kind and courteous the whole time. Stay away from this place.
