Great place for brunch! We came here after a hike and were seated promptly. Very friendly service. Ample portions, frequent coffee refills, and tasty food. My omelette was really good and the coffee was fresh. This seems to be a very popular place with the locals and has a typical coffee shop/diner vibe. Huge parking lot with free parking. Wonderful place to catch up with friends and refuel.

Came here to grab a little late breakfast on vacation. Unlike other American diners I loved that Jack's Place serves breakfast until 2PM, so you can sleep in and still get your French toast fix! Outdoor seating was lovely. I brought my dog and in addition to being nice and shaded, they had fly fans on each table that were a nice touch. They have a little cornhole area right outside. The menu offers a lot of variety but I had a bit of a time finding something I could eat. It seemed like every other item included bacon or ham. The lunch menu had some more flexibility, but I really just wanted breakfast. I tried the French toast which was great, not too heavy or oily. It was stuffed with custard that was really good. The prices were fair IMO and I left happy. My only issue was the slow service. The place wasn't packed but I had a lot of trouble flagging my server down, which was a little annoying because I had places I needed to get to. I wasn't able to get a water refill either.

Found this place on Yelp. Wanted to take my Dad somewhere new. Staff were very friendly, food came out fast and was actually surprised by quantities. They had inside and outside seating and a fun area for corn hole. My husband liked the country fried steak and my son loved the breakfast sandwich! Excited to come back and try the lunch menu!

We unfortunately just missed breakfast. Too bad because the food looked good for breakfast. Service was great. I'm sorry I didn't catch our waitress's name. She had short blond hair and was really knowledgeable of the menu. It seems they change up their menu a bit here and there since I noticed the current menu looked different from the ones already posted on Yelp. I got the southwest turkey melt. It had a little kick and it was good, but for me had too much turkey. I think they could thin it down a little. It would even out the flavor overall. I was going to go with 4 stars since I thought my melt was good but not great. But I thought about it more and I have to say the excellent service had to bump the rating up. The fries were great. Made to perfection! One of the best I've had at restaurants. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and salted just right. Atmosphere was good. Restroom was really cute and felt extremely clean.

Jack's is a staple in our family. We've been dining at this place for years--even before it was Jack's. We've watched it change restaurants and ownership over time. I've been away for a few years, but now I'm back home visiting, and our family still dines here often. My dad loves the spicy fried chicken sandwich! Walking back into this place was a gem. The staff are incredibly kind, and their hospitality is a gift. For Easter, we picked up their famous peanut butter pie and flourless chocolate cake--both were excellent and exactly what our Easter brunch needed! This morning, we stopped in for breakfast, and everything was delicious and perfect. Thank you, Jack's!

I had dinner here last night. I've been several times before and Jack's Place has become a favorite for me and my friends. Tonight I finally tried the pizza. It was great! I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and the crust was perfect! I really enjoyed it! I highly recommend the fish and chips, their soups of the day, and any of their daily specials. The desserts are superb as well, especially the peanut butter pie! To die for! Service is always good and consistent. The atmosphere is small town, cozy, and friendly. Jack's Place is well worth the drive if it's a little far for you. Trust me you won't be disappointed!

Every year we go cherry picking in Leona Valley and finally after passing by this place for many times we decided to stop by for lunch. Indoor seating was ideal for us because it was a hot day but they also have tables outside. As a foodie from Lo Angeles that has over 1500 Yelp reviews I wasn't too sure if the food would be good here but I agreed to give it a try. To my surprise the burgers were amazing and the Reuben was one of the best I ever had. The only thing we didn't like was the fries. Very dry and overcooked no taste. Maybe it was a bad batch. The service stated slow and unfriendly but it got better once our waiter acknowledged us and took our order. He was friendly and attentive. This kind of service is expected from small town restaurants so I won't take any stars away from my review. The food was good, the ambiance was good and they serve great local beer from Lucky Luke Brewing... Overall a great experience and we will definitely come back next summer after our annual cherry picking.

I heard they serve Bravery Brewing beer so I ordered the Rocktoberfest. Still one of my favs! I told Amber that I would be ordering a few items and will be needing to-go boxes to bring home to my Mom (sharing food is my love language). Here's what I ordered: -Pepper Jack Mac & Cheese bites with their homemade ranch -Ahi Tuna sliders -Cubano with homemade chips accompanied by their homemade pepper jack queso dip -Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding -Pepperoni pizza - to go The Mac & Cheese bites were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. The inside had a sharpness to it, I'm assuming from a cheese they used. They were even better dipped in their homemade ranch. Do not leave without trying it!!! Ahi Tuna sliders. You guys.. don't walk, RUN to try these! I think my eyes rolled back in my head when I took my first bite. The tuna was tender, the slaw was crunchy, creamy and citrusy with a slight sweetness. The bun was soft and slightly sweet as well, and the fact that it was toasted, added a nice texture. I'd eat these breakfast, lunch and dinner. And probably for dessert, don't judge me. The Cubano was fantastic! I'm hoping I heard Neil correctly but they marinate the pork in a homemade mojo sauce. That was incredible! The bread was nicely toasted, the ham was smoky, the fontina cheese added a nutty, buttery flavor along with the balance from the crunchy pickles and acidity from the mustard. And the homemade chips with the pepper Jack queso were amazing! The perfect crunch and crispness, salted well and dipped in the creamy queso that had a hint of spice. Oh lawd! Absolute happiness Neil Behrman, the chef, was kind enough to come out and introduce himself. I was lucky enough to have a conversation with him where we shared about our love of cooking, I got to hear about how became a chef, about his Italian grandmother, where he's worked, and how food feeds our soul. I did try one bite from the chocolate croissant bread pudding and oh man, the ooey gooey buttery chocolatey goodness is amazing! FYI.. Both my parents loved and raved about the food! Dad's favs: pizza and chips. Mom's favs: EVERYTHING! Lol!

We ordered from the special menu and the regular menu. Both special items were ordered, consisting of a delicious California Avocado and Swiss Cheese burger and French fries, and I ordered a large Taco Soup after asking for a tiny sample. It was a tasty soup, just like a deconstructed taco in a nicely flavored broth, with lots of sweet corn. On the regular dinner menu, I ordered the 50/50 pulled pork and beef steak sandwich. It was a very generously sized sandwich, it was made by the chef, Cat, he flavored the sandwich with a tangy and creative barbecue sauce. The waitress, Erika, was very nice, we had a good conversation, it was a rainy night and we were damp from the raindrops. Erika stoked the fire at the fireplace so that our clothes could dry off. She delivered our food promptly, and after we hung out catching up on things, I ordered a slice of the Fruit of the Forest rhubarb and raspberries pie, my classmate had a coffee. There may have been other berries in my pie, but I didn't ask about it, I just discerned the type of pie by its taste. We watched the football game, we were lucky to get the best table in the house, lol (the closest table which is situated next to the warm fireplace). It was a cozy evening, and we left right before it started raining cats and dogs. You can get to the Rock Inn via Santa Clarita by taking the San Francisquito Canyon Road, it's a scenic drive through the Angeles Forest and you pass through Lake Elizabeth and Lake Hughes before you get to the place. There's an unmarked parking lot to the side of the restaurant with an open garage structure, plus a parking lot directly across the street. It's a nice car ride if you want to have some scenery. From the north on the I-5 freeway, I took the State Route 14, then took a right on the Three Points Road to Pine Canyon Road to the Elizabeth Lake Road. If you like to have a nice meal in a historical building, the Rock Inn restaurant is a good place to start. The address of the restaurant is 17539 Elizabeth Lake Road, Lake Hughes, CA 93532-1008, if you need to use your GPS to get there. Remember to make a few stops to look at Lake Elizabeth, it's very scenic, either before or after your meal at the famous Rock Inn restaurant. You'll have an enjoyable experience and eat a nice meal.

Great place to eat after scrambling around Vasquez Rocks, visiting Animal Tracks, or just hungry on CA 14 frwy. Just get off the Crown Valley offramp and head due south for about a mile. 1) Wild Game Sausage: Walk On The Wild Side With Jalapeño-Cheddar Stuffed Elk With Roasted Peppers & Onions. Big portion enough for 2 meals since the Elk sausage is so rich. Elk sausage is ground fine and stuffed tightly in the casing for dense, firm texture. You're getting your money's worth. The Jalapeño has a nice, warm piquancy while the Cheddar gives a dairy fermented undertone. The julienned red and green bellpeppers are pleasantly al dente; the onions are caramelized to bring out their sweetness. It's all sautéed in an agrodolce/sweet-sour sauce along with a touch of garlic. 1a) Side dish: Nice little garden salad including green lettuce, diced purple onion, chopped tomato, grated carrot. Chose blue cheese dressing to use for the "Buffalo Burger". 2) "Buffalo Burger" is extra finely ground, plush, velvety Bison meat. So when I ordered it medium rare, the patty turned out mushy. Next time, I will order it medium to firm up and give more of a chaw to the meat. Opted for two slices of not too crispy, meaty bacon. Mayo, tomato, green lettuce leaf, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, dense brioche bun. I spread on the blue cheese dressing to give a little funk to what I thought would be the blood minerality of the Bison meat. It's another substantial dish. 2a) Side dish of standard French fries which was crisp as requested although it didn't quite have that ineffable earthy, mildly sweet, potato flavour 1-2a) Allegiance India Pale Ale, Lancaster CA was a good counter to both food items. Dry, heavy bodied, fruity with scents of orange zest, lacquer, touch of cleansing acidity. 49'er doesn't leave you hungry so didn't have enough room for dessert. I took the Elk sausage home and made sandwiches for two meals. So eating at the 49'er isn't as expensive due to the big portions. 4 stars

There was plenty of parking in this lot. The entrance is located through their patio, which can be a bit counter intuitive. We came at opening and the restaurant got really busy during our time there. Initially we were looking at the sandwiches because it was lunch time, but then we were going to a wedding that night so we decided to eat something more filling since the ceremony and speeches always delay the eating. All entrees here are served with black beans and rice or congri, and 3 fried plantains. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja ($28) with the congri and I had the Lechon Asado ($25) with the rice and beans. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. My boyfriend's Ropa Vieja is a Cuban braised beef. The congri is basically a mix of the rice and beans. This dish was super tasty and the shredded beef was so tender with the bell peppers and onions. I can really taste the red wine and tomato sauce in the base. I took a few bites but in general I preferred my dish more, and vis versa he enjoyed his dish more. My lechon asado is a roasted pork that is super super tenderrrrrr. It was so sweet with the grilled onions and it had the perfect amount of fattiness without being over bearing. SO GOOD! Love the plaintains too. I'm glad I got the rice and beans option because I would have gotten too full too quick with the congri. I barely touched my beans and only got through half of my rice. Both dishes came with this super tasty garlic butter sauce that I poured on my rice and made it even tastier. It was so good. One thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the flies attacking us and our food. Since the door is open and connected to their outdoor space, it leaves the opportunities for flies to come in. We had to play defense with the flies the whole time. The service here is a little slow. Especially when I was trying to get back on the road I wasn't feeling too patient. I waived down multiple staff members too. Also I got hit with an undisclosed 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I only found out after I got the receipt. I would have paid in cash if I knew. *dislike* LOVE LOVE LOVE the food. Might be the best Cuban food I've ever had... and I've been to Florida where there was a lot of Cuban spots. The organic quality of their food is something you'll taste on your first bite. And finally--the service is impeccable and I have yet to see such excellent hospitality at any restaurant I've visited, even in Los Angeles! The waiters are always kind, attentive, and energetic with their behavior and service. It's very easy to tell they love the work they do and it shows in their work ethic. In addition to that, the managers are always making sure we're having an excellent night and have transformed it to a level of service we've never seen! My parents and I went a week ago and talked to Daniel the Manager about how much we missed a Piña Colada from a closed restaurant which would make it in the pineapple itself--and he said if we promised to be there in a week he's make it himself. We came on Friday, and the joy that my family felt was palpable when Daniel came out with the drinks we've wished for years now since that restaurant closed! Honestly, I've never heard of someone caring for their guests so much to do that--truly everyone should visit this establishment and experience true fine dining. I don't think I'll ever eat anywhere else for a special occasion ever again.
